but as the original ravers have grown up and the rise in foodie-centric travel has risen to its peak
restaurants have become the new hot tickets
From elevated beach shacks and world-class sushi to raw and rustic countryside gems
we have the lowdown on the best white isle tables to book this year
Every restaurant on this list has been selected independently by our editors and written by a Condé Nast Traveller journalist who knows the destination and has eaten at that restaurant
our editors consider both high-end and affordable eateries that offer an authentic and insider experience of a destination
We're always looking for stand-out dishes
a great location and warm service – as well as serious sustainability credentials
We update this list regularly as new restaurants open and existing ones evolve
An 18th-century monastery hidden among the hills above San Antonio
with a suitably dramatic aesthetic to boot
Entering via a candlelit courtyard fringed with bougainvillea
before heading through heavy-studded wooden doors
it takes a while for the eyes to adjust to the dimly-lit interiors
The rustic menu revolves around the wood-fired oven
featuring the best produce from land and sea
This is a special occasion spot with serious wow factor
small wonder it’s beloved by the island’s roster of visiting international DJs

Perhaps you’re more used to associating Pikes with the kind of topsy turvy mischief that usually kicks off after midnight
but to miss daytime sessions at this San Antonio drinking and dining den is remiss
Lunch is curated by bubbly bombshell Tess Prince
who puts her unique spin on classic favourites like the Lebanese chicken shawarma
down to earth chef Tim Payne doles out plates like roast fillet cod with curry sauce and onion bhaji
Fun and flirty feasts take place against a brilliantly batty backdrop that includes the famous Club Tropicana pool
with lots of stray cats in attendance and the kind of crowd that the Mad Hatter would be happy to host
Sundays are dedicated to the hallowed roast dinner with all the trimmings — book an afternoon slot overlooking the pool (well in advance) then sit back and watch the revelry unfold

A low-key oasis tucked away in the tiny, white-sand cove of Cala Gracioneta, this beachfront restaurant tumbles over sun-bleached rocks towards the gin-clear waters below. It’s easy to while away the hours here, shaded beneath the silvery trees and sipping on cava sangria between salty dips. Service is excellent, as we’ve come to expect from all Mambo Group outposts
featuring favourites like knock-out seafood paella and and sharing plates including grilled aubergine
tastes all the better when paired with the gentle rasp of waves of the nearby shore
Website: calagracioneta.com
One of the most in-demand sunset spots on the island
La Torre’s blend of uninterrupted panoramic views
blissed-out soundtrack and impeccable food and drink have made it a firm favourite among those on the hunt for the perfect Insta-worthy backdrop
largely because it taps into the island’s revered Balearic spirit
which is mesmerising when paired with those west coast
Sharers include tapas stalwarts like grilled artichokes
plus mains like grilled octopus and steak entrecôte
Be sure to book ahead for the best terrace spots (or a table on the rocks)
and be aware of minimum spend and maximum table time during peak season

As the juggernaut of progress rumbles on in Ibiza
it’s gratifying to know that some places will never change
Housed on an unassuming site near Ibiza’s best-preserved Moorish settlement
the walled terrace garden of Camí de Balàfia remains elegant and atmospheric; a timeworn tribute to the power of authenticity
Lina Marí and her family have been at the helm for decades
so one must assume that little has changed
simply a list of grilled meats (cooked over rosemary branches in the open air) reeled off at the table
served with a superlative three-ingredient tomato salad (the secret’s in the vinegar) and the finest hand-cut potato chips on the planet
children are indulged with sweet treats and pinched cheeks
and the familial atmosphere — beneath lantern-strung orange trees — is one of the last bastions of what some might call the ‘real’ Ibiza
The modern world – thankfully – hasn’t quite infiltrated up here yet
Inspired by the rarefied community atmosphere of Mustique and perhaps more so by Costa Careyes, the haute-hippy enclave on Mexico’s sunshine Jalisco coast, Anton Bilton’s eco estate on Ibiza’s southwest coast is an undeniable success story
An updated members-only policy in 2024 meant that not only are select properties available for summer-long rentals
but also that the superlative Clubhouse restaurant (think farm-to-fork members’ club with Slim Aarons vibes ) is open to the public at weekends
scion of Ibiza’s starriest architectural dynasty
with interiors by Soho House mastermind Lázaro Rosa-Violán
the Clubhouse is a vision of peppermint and white
where the island’s smartest families gather by day to feast on wood-fired pizzas and tuna sashimi beneath the shady poolside loggia
live music happenings in the Temple amphitheatre are the soundtrack to sultry candlelit suppers
But it’s not all woke and worthy – late nights inevitably end up in Sabina’s naughty private nightclub
where afterparties with a loose-hipped crew of island-dwelling yogis
models and artists are the kind of exotic Ibiza invitation that money usually can’t buy

Once a newbie, then a classic, and now a bona fide legend, El Chiringuito Es Cavallet has stayed at the top of its beachfront game for over 15 years. Simply ‘El Chiringuito’ to its legions of fans, this breezy, sun-dappled beach hangout is home to the loveliest (and latest) lunches on the island
From the snaking drive through the Salinas salt flats to its itty-bitty boutique
charismatic British founder Jonathan Thorogood nailed his perfect formula decades ago and – sensibly - sticks to it like glue
The gentle grooves of Ibiza’s best Balearic DJs drift across the deck; Robert the Oyster Man shucks bivalves tableside; finger-licking crab spaghettini takes centre stage; and magnums of the peachiest blush rosé appear effortlessly
while sun-kissed toddlers are whisked discreetly to the bohemian kids’ club
As linen-shirted husbands settle into post-lunch cocktails and big-city banter
gaggles of nut-brown mummies from Paris and Notting Hill head to the plush serviced beach beds to slip into Hunza G one-pieces and shady straw hats
sip green juices and scroll Idealista for rural fincas to renovate

Santa Gertrudis has long been at the island’s creative heart
in the heart of the village’s whitewashed church square
will get a sense of just how far that envelope has been pushed
Housed in a low-lit former art gallery and concealed behind a thick red velvet curtain
graffiti-clad Overall is more redolent of Buenos Aires’ fabled ‘puerta cerrada’ supper clubs than an Ibiza dining destination
Touting itself as ‘modern omakase’ and seating just 24 guests per sitting
where husband and wife team Jorge Álvarez and Mónica Patiño implement a dazzling array of talents in an open
Both worked in Asia and rely heavily on preserving
fermenting and ancestral smoking techniques
vinegars and hydrosols to create dishes such as octopus aged in wagyu fat and cacao or hand-distilled moonshine cocktails with fermented fruit

Tony Comas and Hadrien Rigat hail from France’s coastal Camargue region
where their wild youth in the 1990s was spent riding horses
herding bulls and bussing tables in Rigat’s family restaurants
while Comas became a global cocktail consultant in Mali
Fast forward two decades and the Gallic duo are once more joined at the hip as founders of the white-hot Boodiou
a sexy hangout in Ibiza’s wild Sa Penya district that’s proven so popular it’s now expanded to include space on the opposite side of the street
Rigat’s classic French background and worldly outlook mean Michelin-esque flavours using market-fresh ingredients served informally and tapas-style on oil-slicked sharing plates
distils his own spirits – from a mezcal-esque prickly pear distillate to a tart apple cider – to create cult cocktails like the vegan hierbas sour
There’s a rare synchronicity between the bar and the kitchen
as drag queens clatter down the cobbles and Boodiou’s candlelit tables spill out beneath the stars
it’s one of the most visceral places on the island to eat
Website: instagram.com/boodiouibiza
Hot on the heels of long-time local rivals, Sofia Mehta’s buzzy, bouncing Beachouse has quietly repositioned itself from a late-night beach party hangout to beachfront restaurant with an enlightened menu focusing on local
Out with the raucous ravers and in with a grown-up crowd of well-heeled holidaymakers who’ve heard about the sunrise yoga and breakfast sessions
the open charcoal grill and the extraordinary full moon dinners on the beach
not to mention Mehta’s signature Boho nights
when in-the-know visitors and island residents gather to sip Nomad cocktails
listen to the island’s best DJs and dance on the sand beneath the stars

the Swedish-Italian power couple behind Beach Club 10.7
and a tiny shop selling Reina Olga swimsuits
That's not to say it's chi-chi – far from it
stripped-back tables are set up in the sand dunes
and there are focaccia sandwiches and ice cream for anyone just stopping by

With arguably the prime spot in Marina Ibiza (perched atop the Ibiza Gran Hotel and snuggled next door to Club Chinois)
it’s where Ibiza’s glossiest guests gather to nibble on tempura
tataki and superlative sushi while watching a revolving who’s who of the island’s music industry roll in and out pre-Pacha
Frontline tables get the best views of Ibiza’s majestic Dalt Vila walls and the visiting yachts
while cosy banquettes and low-level lighting make the rest of the rooftop feel daring and decadent
The pre-club sitting (that’s 11pm to you early birds) is the vibiest
with energy so thick you could slice it with a knife

chef-owner (and dedicated locavore) Boris Buono has taken the lessons learned during his tenure at pared-back Nordic powerhouse Noma and applied them to local Ibicencan produce
steam and work their playful kitchen alchemy as the strains of guitars float up from the street outside
A vibrantly vivid celebration of the island’s most extraordinary local produce
cooked by vivacious and determined young people who put the planet and its wellbeing at the heart of all they do

Ibiza’s original seafood restaurant and still the absolute best
Es Torrent is the grande dame of island chiringuitos
chinking crystal and sophisticated service elevate this San José classic to the realms of icon
but at its heart remains the humble fish shack that’s been serving Ibiza’s best paella and guisat de peix – the island’s rich
Book well ahead for a chance to reserve one of the coveted beach beds on the itty-bitty pebbly cove – perfect for a post-lunch swim and siesta

Having reinvigorated an unassuming corner of the island with its pared back ethos and pack-a-punch plates
Founded in an unloved beach restaurant by three chef pals (and former Noma alumuni)
it’s breezily become Ibiza’s coolest chiringuito
With an unsurprisingly Nordic approach to cooking
the young team has developed a fervent following for a zingy menu of lime-slaked crudos
and fried fish tacos served with remoulade and homemade pickles
Website: nudoibiza.com
Amalur has been an Ibiza institution since 1981 when it was the very pinnacle of Ibiza’s fine-dining scene
the Italian owner of Formentera’s unrivalled Can Carlos
this restored Santa Gertrudis finca is once more a top tier foodie destination
packed with holidaying families (and impeccably behaved children) along with gaggles of well-heeled island mummies
tagliata and parmesan-flecked beef carpaccio
The newly minted elevated terrace garden is all dappled shade
swaying lanterns and claret and white striped umbrellas
bringing a slice of Amalfi Coast chic to Ibiza’s northern heartlands

Housed in the same rambling finca on the mythical San Juan road that was once home to Leah Tilbury’s wilder-than-wild Ocho
Nagai shuns the pared-back slickness of most of Ibiza sushi restaurants for a cosy
bohemian atmosphere that suits its 300-year-old home
where candlelit tables are heaped with sashimi
the firelit finca interior is the perfect foil for a warming menu of soups
Co-owner Melchior was born and raised in Ibiza and is one of the island’s most respected healers and visionaries
His grounding presence and deep connection with the island’s heritage make Nagai a truly authentic experience

If you haven’t Instagrammed from Casa Jondal’s cactus-peppered
this upscale chiringuito is so popular that the chances of scoring a table are scarce
lingering for hours over rustic wooden tables set beneath the trees and working their way through a seafood-heavy menu that relies on the best of Ibiza’s marine harvest and serves it raw
swaying sail shades – is as elegant and expensive as the guests
who arrive by chauffeur-driven 4x4 and peep from behind oversized Celine sunglasses
Website: casajondal.es
There’s something effortlessly cool about Santa Gertrudis Italian failsafe Macao Café
white-linen bedecked dining terrace is a veritable tick list of Ibiza’s famous faces come high summer
crisp stuffed zucchini flowers and a moreish pappardelle ragu are what keep regulars flooding back
along with an upbeat – borderline raucous – late-night atmosphere and the best homemade limoncello on the island
Website: facebook.com/macaocafesg
there are few places so in tune with the rhythm of northern Ibiza as La Paloma
hand-painted beauty and extraordinary home cooking have made it a 25-year success story
La Paloma is a sun-soaked garden and terrace café
where Ibiza’s northern residents gather to eat a Middle Eastern-inspired menu of falafel salad
duck-egg blue space transforms into the island’s prettiest open-air restaurant
musicians and supermodels gather beneath the cicada-filled orange trees to nibble on co-founder Prasuna’s hand-stuffed ravioli or solomillo with balsamic and thyme glaze

40-year-old Cas Pagés (literally meaning “the country house”) is as lo-fi as it comes
retro hangout just south of the pretty northern village of San Carlos specialises in simple and traditional island fare – think grilled meat
and fuss-free salads such as the ensalada payesa with potato
There’s a pretty enclosed garden terrace for lazy summer evenings beneath the lantern-strung trees or a cosy indoor room that’s jam-packed daily in the winter months
Arrive very early or very late – anything in between and the chances of getting a table are slim

Rubbing shoulders with Ibiza's big guns - La Paloma
Il Buco – light-bulb-strung garden restaurant Finca La Plaza has managed to squeeze in and find its place
just behind the main square in Santa Gertrudis

plus grilled artichoke with lemon and blackened corn on the cob alongside bowls of burrata and smoky babaganoush

The culinary vision of a former fashion photographer and a chef — natural disruptors whose love bloomed in New York — was perhaps always going to contain a flash of the avant-garde
and when Antía Pagant and Matias Romano first opened their buzzing neighbourhood bistro
there was no mistaking its forward thinking intentions
and an environment in which their young chefs felt free to explore the boundaries of creativity rest at the restaurant’s core
and it’s an approach that’s transformed its formerly sleepy Santa Eulalia barrio into a must-visit after dark hangout
Drawn by the sensational small plates that are poured over in a sultry
candles flickering into darkness while smooth
there’s no other dining experience like it on the island — a secret shared by the island’s army of chefs

Beach restaurants don’t come much more bougie than El Silencio
a seaside hotspot founded by Arnaud Frisch
the celebrated owner and visionary of the Paris nightclub of the same name
But this eatery eschews the dark corners of its sister venue in favour of a bright and breezy aesthetic that’s totally in keeping with its location tucked between cliffs on the otherwise tranquil cove of Cala Molí
Raffia lampshades swing lazily from the bamboo roof of the alfresco terrace
chunky wooden tables are placed atop the sand facing out towards wildly pretty sea views
while busy creatives on their days off slink around barefoot
The menu is masterminded by Mauro Colagreco and changes regularly but always features the fruits of fresh Mediterranean produce (annual culinary pop-ups are also common)
while cocktails come from the inspired mind of mixologist
There’s a semi-secret pool lined by retro parasols and sun beds out back if you prefer to savour your fine dining from a reclined position

Once considered the landing spot in San Antonio for mainly British tourists, ‘the Bay'
starting at the small beach of Es Pouet and continuing all the way to Port d'es Torrent
has undergone much regeneration in recent years
Now a culinary destination in its own right
San Antonio Bay offers an array of dining options and price points
the Bay really does have a little bit of everything
The best feature of this 2.5km extended area of San Antonio, taking in the coves of Cala de Bou and Playa Pinet, is its stunning coastline. The incredible sunset viewpoints from the many coves and beaches mean you can marvel at the changing night sky
whilst you eat or enjoy the vivid colours on a post-dinner stroll
Here is a roundup of our favourite Bay recommendations:
The classy outside dining is beautifully set up so you can crunch on your prawn crackers poolside
Be careful not to fill up on the great selection of starters
as the chef's specials and perfectly spicy curries need room to be devoured
Dining with toes in the sand at Port des Torrent beach, Tigre Morado is a fresh-fish lover's delight
you can select from its bursting seafood menu
filled with creative flavours and interesting twists
it's worth hanging out until sunset to enjoy your meal in harmony with that special moment
For those craving a biodynamic dining experience, then Taste of Salia at the very end of the Bay should be top of the list
Focused on sustainability and conscious cuisine
they follow the Mediterranean's natural cycles by honouring the changing seasons
with an extensive menu of the most exquisite dishes from the sea's finest produce
Can Pujol holds one of the island's finest beachfront vantage points
its enduring popularity is due to perfecting the freshest Mediterranean seafood dishes
and you'll find tourists and Ibizan families returning year after year
Both may sit at the higher end of the budget scale
but with the wonderful views and gastronomic delights they serve
Set back from Port d'es Torrent beach, a restaurant that once upon a time enjoyed uninterrupted views of the bay, El Gallo Viejo - also known as The Old Cock
make sure to check out the many photos they have on display
the serene Sundara Ibiza is a lush location
with soft lighting and palm trees looming over
the bang bang cauliflower should make it onto your order
Health food lovers will adore Natural Pau by Es Pueto Beach
The garden setting is perfect for enjoying amazing salads
all washed down with healthy juices for prices that will make you smile
A new contender to the San Antonio Bay pack, Pisco Beach is already becoming a popular destination
With front-row seats onto the S'Estanyol sands
with two of the finest Bay burger joints within shouting distance of one another
Multiple award winner The Kitchen 62 offers a vast and hearty burger - and tapas - selection
local cheeses and vegetables across the menu
Accompanied with a side of homemade chips and served in a homemade bun with a dollop of homemade sauce
A special mention has to go to Johnny's Burger Bar
With a wide selection of toppings and sauces
you can enjoy your burger pretty much any way from their open terrace
Veggie and vegan options are also available across the menu
Just around the corner, Relish
with its chilled hangout pool and relaxed lounge dining area
comes in as one of the coolest spots in the Bay
Offering an extensive menu of intriguing tapas creations
it's no wonder it's such a well-loved home-from-home
cocktails and always popular Sunday Roasts won't get a look in
Kojima creates excellent Japanese home cooking and sushi at very reasonable prices
so don't hesitate to ask for their recommendations
If you want to try tasty and authentic Japanese food
then make your way to this intimate restaurant on Carrer de la Corunya
why not take in a super sunset as the backdrop to your beachfront meal

While it is true that the coastal aspect of the municipality occupies a prominent place in terms of leisure and entertainment
the inland area offers walkers a whole range of interesting trails and footpaths to discover the charm of the Ibizan countryside
Some of these paths have been grouped into well-defined trails for walkers to discover the most diverse landscapes
from those that offer a new perspective of the urban façade of Sant Antoni to those that penetrate deep into the rural heart of the municipality or wind their way along the coast
leading to some of the most picturesque spots in the area
we have selected five that perfectly encapsulate the variety and richness of the landscape of Sant Antoni de Portmany
its old oil mill and all the cultural facilities that have been built around them
the statue of Es Verro and the chapel of Sa Talaia are other important features of the trail
More info & map of the route here
This trail starts at the aforementioned Caló des Moro beach and heads north. The trail leaves the urban area and, skirting the coast, leads to the beach of Cala Gració and the neighbouring beach of Cala Gracioneta
Both coves have a pure Mediterranean feel and are very popular with the locals
makes it suitable for casual walkers and it is of medium difficulty
The trail passes by the Cap Blanc Aquarium
a former lobster nursery and today a facility for the dissemination and understanding of the area’s underwater fauna and a centre for the recovery of marine species
The trail ends at the Cap Negret viewpoint
which offers sweeping views of the sea that bathes the coast of Sant Antoni and the islets of Ponent

ew summer pastimes can be more enjoyable than diving into the crystal-clear waters of a Mediterranean cove
which conjures up one of those eternally evoked snapshots that you imagine as the perfect holiday
Should you want to experience the real deal in person
Sant Antoni de Portmany is blessed with many such coves tucked away the length and breadth of its coastline
Sant Antoni has proposed 8 snorkelling routes for you so that you can discover all the attractions that await divers beneath the waves
These routes and seascapes are at varying depths
suitable for newbies and practised old hands alike
we take a look at a few of these underwater trips and their attractions
This sheltered corner of the Portmany coast is a hidden jewel
briefly visible at the foot of a small cliff and close to the town centre
It can be reached by the path leading to the Cap Blanc aquarium down a unobtrusive set of steps in the rock nearby
It is a charming little place with a handful of boathouses and a little jetty that reaches out into the turquoise waters with a seabed of brilliant white sand
scattered with rocks that serve as a refuge for several species
The water is easily accessible and so it is ideal for family fun
The rocks on the sandy bottom are home to fish like the blenny with its giant head and bulging eyes
the perfectly camouflaged spotted flounder
and diving a little deeper between the forest of sea grass
are shoals of young fish along with adult salema porgy that feed on the leaves of this marine plant
See route
Two spits of rock extend out to sea here creating a protected zone to the north of the Cap Blanc aquarium before you reach Cala Gració beach
without any seagoing craft to interfere with their exploring
not to mention free from the pressure of fellow humans
The initial depths consist of large slabs of rock covered with algae
a protruding rock marks the area where the sea grass thrives
lighter in summer and a deeper green in winter
The depth then increases and for those who are fond of more vertical dives
you will be greeted with views of vertical rock walls with a rocky seabed that is home to extremely diverse marine life
and damsel fish hiding away in the cracks and crevices of the rocks
See route
Caló des Moro is a little bit of urban luxury as it affords the visitor all the beauty and charm of a Mediterranean beach without having to forsake the town environment
It can be reached from Passeig de Ponent and faces west
The seabed with its blinding white sand contrasts with the bright green of Posidonia oceanica
one of nature’s marvels that is home to over a thousand species of animals and plants
Access to the water is very simple and the depth can vary from one to three metres
you will see a platform that slopes gently down and which is full of hollows and little craters filled with sand
and frequently inhabited by sea cucumber and sea urchins
If you carry on to the headland and turn towards the inlet or bay you will come to a slope that descends vertically
which is when you can turn back and continue to enjoy the sight of shoals of bogue
See route
Cala Saladeta is the lovely archetypal Mediterranean beach
With the green of the surrounding pine woods
and with pristine waters and a dazzlingly white sandy seabed
contrasting with the bright green of the sea grass
this beach is a paean to beauty and a joy that meets the eye
not to mention a pleasure for all the other senses too
following the rock wall in the direction of the headland
you will come upon a sandy seabed which you will cross to reach a leafy sea grass meadow
There you can watch the sparkling shoals of salema porgy feeding on these marine plants
More experienced divers can hold their breath and plunge several metres to the parts furthest from the rocky coastline
Here you will probably spy groups of grey mullets
See route
This snorkelling route has to be accessed by sea
which makes it a little more complicated to reach
But you will be compensated by an impressive route along the coast where you can visit some hideaways that harbour a wealth of marine life and a pristine seabed
The best way is to anchor in the little bay formed by Cap Negret facing the entrance to the seashore
the cave of Las Palomas with its tranquil waters provides the perfect view of this amazing spot
The seabed is strewn with polished white pebbles
the level drops abruptly tempting the most experienced divers to breathe deep and plunge down to a depth of over 6 metres
you can still enjoy the spectacular landscape with huge rocks and a razor-sharp cliff face that looks as if it has been carved out with a knife
From the cave and to the right the waters are shallower and there are some large rocks that provide a refuge for octopus
From the deep blue depths you will see silvery banks of little fish emerge as they dodge predators such as dentex
See route
This route is one that expert snorkellers will really appreciate
beyond cala Salada you will reach Cap Gros and the north face of Sa Foradada
The name comes from the hole in the rock wall
and it makes this beautiful part of the coast extra special
There you can dive down to the seabed with rocks scattered here and there
smooth pebbles and great blocks of rock carpeted with brown algae
The coastline consists of vertical rock walls filled with crevices and hollows that provide tremendous entertainment with shoals of white sea bream
as well as scorpion fish and painted comber
though it is best not to try and swim through it as it is quite narrow
See route
One of Sant Antoni’s most peculiar beaches with its stone terraces
it is also one of the most highly recommended dives for snorkelling fans
You can reach it by land but it the best way is by sea so that you can enjoy the route to the northern point of Punta Galera
The little crags that are such a feature of this beach
serve as a departure point for an experience that includes floating over a seabed full of pebbles and some enjoyable and amazing swims
You will be able to witness how shoals of bogues
while in the rocky hollows perhaps a curious octopus will be peeping out
The rock walls are covered with algae and sponges and close to the shore you may find some beadlet anemone or sea tomato
See route
Cala Gracioneta is a charming little spot that nestles between two spits of rock close by Cala Gració beach
You can take an aquatic trip that is brimming with marine life
and it is a very easy route if you stay close to the coast
on the right you will find a seabed of medium sized rocks home to blenny
The algae that covers the rocks is Padina pavonica
whitish in colour and with a layered appearance
with a final ledge that opens out to a forest of seagrass and which drops to over 6 metres
so as a result this part of the route is best reserved for experienced divers
used to holding their breath for long periods
you will see a wealth of marine life including grey mullet
Along this route you will arrive at some typical boathouse huts and return to the beach close to the rock wall covered with algae
where you will see white sea bream and damsel fish
See route
Once you arrive in Sant Antoni you will find a world of opportunities to explore
with plenty of activities and amazing places waiting to be discovered
but nevertheless we would like to propose five places that no one should miss out on during their visit to Ibiza
or the look-out post in the Cathedral square
You can walk around the perimeter of the walls that form the town’s bastion and take in the fantastic views of the modern city
Outside the walls, another essential place to visit is the Necropolis Museum of Puig des Molins
This is certainly the most important museum of its kind in terms of Phoenician and Carthaginian culture
The museum building is set in the Phoenician necropolis on the fringes of the original settlement (dating from the 7th century) and it is possible to visit a number of hypogea excavated in the rock
More than 3,000 tombs occupied the hill where the necropolis lies
It is an experience that is unquestionably as educational as it is spectacular and a visit will transport you back in time to the origins of today’s Ibiza
a town that prospered and grew wealthy through its busy maritime trade
However, a chapter on fantastic beaches would not be complete without a mention of Platges de Comte and Cala Bassa
Both places can be reached by sea from the port of Sant Antoni and are equally blessed with clear transparent waters and beautiful natural surroundings
Platges de Comte combines stretches of sandy beach with little coves nestling among sandy rocks moulded and formed into intriguing shapes by the wind
with the group of islands and neighbouring islets as backdrop
are one of the most memorable sights in Ibiza
Cala Bassa offers high end leisure facilities and restaurants in the shade of centuries old juniper woods
has all kinds of entertaining options for a day out with the family
he face of the urban centre of Sant Antoni de Portmany and tourist areas such as Cala Gració are undergoing an extraordinary architectural transformation as a result of the exciting restructuring of many of the area’s hotels
This has led to a change of image for the town and its main tourist areas
which has contributed to an increased perception of quality
In addition to this transformation and added value of some of the area’s most iconic hotels through comprehensive and smart renovations
some creative and innovative ventures have also been implemented
placing Sant Antoni at the forefront of hotel accommodation in Ibiza
Old hotels and small family guest houses or hostals have been transformed to become designer establishments
completely refurbished so that they can now offer the most attractive amenities to all kinds of visitors
The hotel accommodation in Sant Antoni offers a quality product that stands out from the rest
thanks to a comprehensive update of every segment of the industry
set a trend that has become more solidly established year on year with every season
in 2022 the list of renovated hotels has been further enriched with some new additions

The new place is presented as an urban hotel
located in the north part of the town centre

The Vibra Piscis is an Adults Only establishment offering 366 rooms 2 of which are suites

It’s easy to dismiss Ibiza as a party island — revelers sun-baking during the day
then dancing until sunrise to thumping bass
And while there’s nothing wrong with this portrayal
it’d be like visiting Paris just to eat a croissant
or New York just to ride to the top of the Empire State Building — both worthwhile experiences
but you’d be missing out on much of what gives each city its soul
the Balearic island offers much more than just its sparkling turquoise waters and headliner DJ sets
It’s a chance to reconnect with nature while driving through the rolling green hills of Sant Josep; indulge in a perfectly grilled
freshly-caught branzino in a family-owned restaurant in Cap Martinet; and reset your heart and soul as you watch the sun melt into a cotton candy-pink horizon
TZR shares the local’s travel guide to the best places to eat
and shop in Ibiza — from a hidden fish shack on a rocky shore to an eclectic emporium of home goods
Sa CapellaSa Capella Carrer Capella
Sa Capella isn’t just a restaurant; it’s practically a religious experience
Housed in a stunningly-restored 16th century chapel
the space offers a culinary journey you won’t find anywhere else on the island
A live DJ spins moody deep house tunes (and even pulls out an electric cello throughout the night)
while candlelight flickers off of exposed stone walls and sky-high ceilings
you’ll find an assortment of fresh seafood and meat
from Basque-style turbot to suckling lamb shoulder (a can’t miss) in Sa Capella’s open air kitchen
Word of advice: don’t skip out on the clams in green sauce
then wash it all down with a crisp glass of Malvasia
It’s the perfect dinner destination to take someone you’re trying to impress — or
Contrary to what its sister club in Paris might imply
there will be no napkin-waving and dancing on tables at Arnaud Frisch and Antoine Cato’s El Silencio Ibiza — and that’s exactly what makes it special
But just because the decibel levels of the music aren’t deafening doesn’t mean it’s lacking in atmosphere
The lunchtime crowd here can best be described as effortlessly chic
the food by chef Mauro Colagreco is top tier

Start your meal with the foccacia with aioli (it’s so good
and don’t miss the branzino for two — it’s one of the best on an island
there’s only one right option: the churros
you’ll feel like you’re nibbling on clouds
There’s a reason Jul’s is the go-to spot for Ibiza’s stylish set — it’s not unlikely you’ll glimpse Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini of Attico dining al fresco here with friends
with a focus on fresh seafood (though the lobster risotto should be twice the size — it’s too good)
Jul’s is the perfect dinner spot to get in the mood before a night out at DC10 or Hï — or just to go home and slumber peacefully with a stomach full of good food and wine
Tucked away on a rocky shore in Cap Martinet
this unassuming cliffside restaurant is Ibiza’s hidden gem
The no-frills menu is as uncomplicated as its name: freshly-caught fish
and delicious — but it’s the oceanfront setting that steals the show

The Parisian restaurant Monkey Pigalle has arrived in Ibiza
and with it a Bohemian concept based on Mediterranean cuisine made with 0km produce
and the sunsets in Ses Variades – Sant Antoni
Monkey Pigalle began as a restaurant in Rue Jean-Baptiste Pigalle in Paris
and was run by its three founding partners
who wanted to set up a different kind of business
They aimed to surprise their clients with 100% Parisian wines
signature cocktails and dishes to be enjoyed with friends
The success of their Monkey restaurant in Paris led them to open a place in Ibiza with the same premise
aiming to become a benchmark on the island with a cuisine and dishes designed to be shared by friends
They also offer a Day Pass service and rental for private events
ant Antoni is a holiday destination that boasts a huge range of attractions
such as the natural surroundings and beautiful beaches
or the entertainment and tourist activities on offer
albeit with a lower profile and as a result these options may come as a surprise to visitors
The municipal district’s four markets come under this category
and they are located in completely different environments
These are places where you can discover artisanal and beautifully crafted goods and products of all kinds
The farmer’s market in Sant Antoni is in the centre of the town at the corner of Madrid and Vara de Rey streets
only four local producers set out their stalls here
the scant number of stalls is more than adequately made up for in quality as there you will find excellent produce from the local market gardens which is eagerly sought after both on the island and beyond its shores
all part of a long list that also includes homemade preserves
this initiative was set up by the Sant Antoni Agricultural Cooperative to bring farmers and local producers together with residents and visitors to sell their produce
The market takes place weekly every Friday from 9 am to 2 pm in front of the cooperative premises at the start of the Cami de Sa Vorera
There you will find a huge range of local farm produce
along with products that are prepared and produced on the island
This is just one of the cooperative’s many initiatives
an organisation whose 1500 or so members have been providing support to the farming and stock rearing industry since 1951
quality and best practices in the municipality’s primary sector
Carlos Icardi and Miguel Angel Ratto are just a few of the famous names that have made their mark on the island’s history of crafts
Some of these artisans’ workshops can be found in the main street of the town making it easy for the public to visit them
The market is open during the summer from mid-June to the end of September
In order to facilitate easy access and parking
the event is held in the Sant Rafel Social Centre carpark
The Sant Antoni markets are an ideal way to discover the extraordinary quality of the local zero-kilometre produce at first hand
From typical market garden products such as the magnificent Ibizan red potato
all kinds of vegetables and traditional varieties – many of which are being recovered thanks to the determined efforts of local producers and ongoing innovations in the sector- to a seemingly endless list of seasonal fruits that provide colour and flavour to the Mediterranean diet
Can Rich is an important local producer with an increasingly wide range of products such as organic wines
Their philosophy is to create quality organic products and wine production in particular with a selection that includes sparkling wines
They began making wines in 1997 and set up the wine cellar in 1999 producing different vintages
The quality of local produce is in many cases labelled to promote, protect and encourage local production and consumption. With this in mind, the Sabors d’Eivissa brand was created to promote and distinguish produce from the island’s farms and fisheries launched to highlight local cuisine. Peix Nostrum, in turn
is a seal of quality that identifies all the fish products marketed by the local fishing fleet and the fishermen’s guilds of Ibiza and Sant Antoni
sustainability of practices and proper handling of fresh produce
the oil and wine produced in Ibiza also have their respective IGP seals which identify and certify that the produce consumed has been grown and prepared on the island in accordance with established requirements

Where to sleep Sant Antoni?
Ibiza's famous Sunset Strip: its reputation precedes it
Although you may be familiar with the place
you might not know every venue or that it winds all the way from San Antonio's port area until it reaches the northern tip of the beach of Caló d'es Moro
So, just for you, we've compiled this guide of all the different bars and restaurants that line this iconic stretch of San Antonio coastline
Each one offers a slightly different ambience so take a look and find your perfect sunset spot
Walking along the promenade that leads from the port of San Antonio, the first establishment of prominence is Space Eat & Dance
Risen from the ashes of legendary nightclub Space Ibiza
it is the latest business venture from hospitality entrepreneur Pepe Roselló
the former Space general manager has always had an affinity with San Antonio and chose to resurrect the brand in this new incarnation in a spot where you can drink and dine - with no minimum spend policy - while marvelling at views of the entire bay and sunset
The next venue, Café del Mar is the original sunset bar
It opened its illustrious doors in 1980 and was designed by Catalan architect
Lluis Güell and remains this strip's most iconic building
it is reminiscent of the sea and spray of the waves
this is the place to unwind for a dreamy Balearic sunset
Café del Mar made its name with its chill-out compilations and Michael Wood's remix of Energy 52s 1993 smash hit
Brought up-to-date recently with a new remix courtesy of Tale Of Us
this could spark a renaissance for the venue in a big way
We can't stress enough that booking the interior tables in advance is a must
Please be advised that these come with a minimum spend
the tables tend to fill very early – particularly during peak season
We advise getting there for around 18:00 to guarantee your pick of seats
but the music and setting are so absolutely divine it manages to still feel beautifully relaxed
Moving along is Café Mambo
Without a doubt this venue is the star attraction here and where you go to see the biggest DJs on the planet
you can expect the venue to be incredibly popular
In high season it opens at 10:00 for breakfast and goes all the way through until late
The music here gets progressively heavier as the sun disappears
making Café Mambo the liveliest bar on the Sunset Strip
and here you'll find a thronging mass of punters from all over the world
There's a reason why so many boat charters choose to stop here
You'll even see parasailers circling at sundown
Mambo hosts pre-parties for many of the island's most popular parties
Café Mambo also boasts one the finest DJ alumni of just about anywhere on the island
You will regularly find the proprietor's sons Alan and Christian Anadon
or The Mambo Brothers mingling and chatting to guests too
Next door to Café Mambo is sister venue, Mint by Mambo
modern and altogether more chilled-out and as it names suggests
Being the final venue on this stretch of the strip
arguably it also offers the best view of the spectacular sunset
Mint can often be seen as an extension of its more famous sibling
during peak season when Café Mambo is at its most heaving
If you want to escape the hectic promenade
then the wooden benches below on the rocks offer a retreat away from that
but please be aware you'll soon be asked to move on if you intend on bringing your own and littering will result in a fine
After nightfall a variety of street performers light up the rock with dazzling displays of fire breathing and juggling
Quite a spectacle and great for capturing that holiday moment
If you thought the Sunset Strip ended at Mint
There's a seafront stretch and then we are onto more venues
This Moroccan-inspired sunset spot serves cooling cocktails and a selection of Middle-Eastern snack food
Monkey Ibiza is the next venue along
Sitting on the site of former Ibiza workers' institution Kanya
the venue has gone a little more upmarket. The pool area might just be one of the best positioned on the whole island
Bathing in the pool with a cocktail in hand as the sun disappears below the horizon is heavenly
The food is some of the best you'll find in San Antonio and there's frequent parties in the venue's backroom club
Next door is longstanding restaurant Kasbah. If you arrive early enough
you can take advantage of the generous discounts on cocktails for happy hour
The clientele is generally a little older at this strip stalwart - maybe it's because it makes for a great vantage point to enjoy a coffee and watch the world roll by
Bamboo Bar is one of the most chilled out places on our list
This beach bar serves up an impressive selection of craft beers and cocktails at a very reasonable price
Offering up a funky alternative soundtrack
you can enjoy the end of the day listening to a super smooth mix of ska and reggae whilst enjoying a tasty beverage
Milù is little more than a serving hatch in the wall
But it's modesty is matched by its convenience
Whether you're on a leisurely stroll or a moving at a brisker pace
it's the perfect pitstop to grab a refreshing treat - slush puppy or ice cream
You could even grab one of the limited seats and watch the world pass by
Ample 32 is a restaurant that combines fine dining with some of the most glorious natural sights in the world
Its exquisitely-crafted menu fuses international cuisine from all over the world with an Ibizan twist.
Next, we reach Golden Buddha at Caló d'es Moro
you will find a firm favourite amongst Ibiza veterans who seek a little more solace than the noise and bustle at the other end of the strip
things are altogether quieter and prices friendlier on your wallet
You won't find anybody clapping at the sunset
just people watching and appreciating the moment
Finally, at what is the end of this strip, is the new hotel, the Wi-Ki Woo
with a front terrace that's a dizzy array of funky design
there are DJ sets throughout the day and a totally buzzy vibe
You are certain to find somewhere to suit you on the Sunset Strip
find your perfect place and enjoy the great atmosphere and of course
