Another step forward, as Barça Atlètic came away with a very important win as they seek to avoid the drop. Aleix Garrido and Jan Virgili scored the goals, and Ander Astralaga also played a key role in goal against Sestao River, who are now only four points ahead and one place above the relegation places.
Blaugrana possession, Basque chances – how the match began as Leandro Martínez hit the woodwork and Astralaga saved. However, the ball going into the net is what counts and Barça Atlètic's Pedro Soma and Aleix Garrido combined well for the latter to lift the ball over Herrerin (min 14).
The 1-0 suited Barça Atlètic wonderfully, but the visitors continued to miss chances when Astralaga wasn't making the saves. Sergi Milà's side then took the sting out of the game after the break by controlling the ball more.
This brought about a lull in the game up to the 70th minute, but when Jairo went one on one with the Barça Atlètic number one, there he was to prevent a Sestao goal again.
Jan Virgili then went close after a good pass by Dani Rodríguez, before a final push saw a Guille Fernández effort saved. However, Jan Virgili wasn't to be denied and his 88th minute goal (2-0) helped his side claim a vital three points and a second consecutive home win.
Next up, an away trip to Real Unión (April 20 8.00pm CEST).
Goals: 1-0, Aleix Garrido (min 14); 2-0, Jan Virgili (min 88)
Referee: Ortega Herrera. Yellow card for Ander Astralaga (min 93) and Gaizka Martínez (min 79)

Barça Atlètic have drawn away from home for the second time in a row after a fascinating contest this Sunday at Sestao.
Things began with an early goal from Unai following a lovely passing move, and on a difficult playing surface Barça continued to control the early minutes. But Sestao River slowly got more and more involved, and eventually started warming the gloves of debutant goalkeeper Eder Aller.
Early in the second half they finally did it, Sergi pouncing on a Cuenca rebound following a corner, and this led to a long spell in which the home side looked a lot more in control. Barça Atlètic needed to regroup, and eventually did so, and Unai will be furious with himself for failing to tuck away a simple chance.
Just when Barça Atlètic were finally back on top, Sestao again struck from a corner, Córdero the scorer very much against the run of play during that phase of the game. Barça had no choice but to go all-out attack in the hope of salvaging something, and they achieved exactly that with a late penalty after Cedric was tugged down in the area. Unai accepted the responsibility, and thus claimed his second goal of the day.
Had it not been for a stunning late save by Herrerín, Barça Atlètic could even have been returning home with the full three points. The first away win of the season will have to wait, but at least the reserves are collecting points from their trips around the country.
Sestao River: Herrerín, Cordero, Gálvez, Blanco, Markel, Sergi (Álvarez, min 56), Gómez (Antón, min 70), Leandro (Barandalla, min 87), Planas (Miranda, min 87), Bustillo i Etxaniz (Diego Aznar, min 56) Barça Atlètic: Eder Aller, Trilli (Landry, min 68), Pau Prim (Pedro Soma, 92), Unai, Cortés, Rubén López, Guillermo, Olmedo, Cedric, Cuenca (Juan Hernández, min 83) i A. Fernández (Darvich, min 68)
Goals: 0-1, Unai (min 12); 1-1, Sergi (min 49); 2-1, Cordero (min 82); 2-2, Unai (min 90) (pen)
Referee: Cueto Amigo. Yellow cards for Gómez (min 33), Gálvez (min 33), Bustillo (min 43), Álvarez (min 60, and a second and therefor red on 90), Herrerín (min 76), Anton (min 89) and Markel (min 90) of Sestao and Cortés (min 69) and Cuenca (min 70) of Barça.

Barça Atlètic have seen off Sestao River to the tune of a 2-1 win. Mikayil Faye and Pau Víctor were on target for the home side and although the visitors pulled one back, the Catalans held on to make it eight games without defeat.
The Mikayil Faye goal came from a splendid conversion of an Unai Hernández corner, the Senegalese defender showing that he also has what it takes to support the attack with his third goal this term
It was no less than the home side deserved after enjoying all the big chances until then, and they then got a let-off when a visiting goals was cancelled out for an earlier foul.
Barça instead struck a second time, Marc Casadó powering down the wing following a fine piece of teamwork and then flipping in the lovely cross that Pau Víctor steered into the net to make it 2-0.
Jon Guruzeta combined nicely with Aitor Aranzabe to produce a goal for Setao just after the break, and with the game on a knife-edge, both teams battled hard for their respective causes in for the remainder of the match, with the two goalkeepers both producing key saves to ensure things remained the way they were.
Barça Atlètic: Marc Vidal; Marc Casadó (Pau Prim, min. 47), Mamadou Mbacke, Mikayil Faye, Gerard Martín; Noah Darvich, Marc Bernal (Diego Percan, min. 80), Moha Moukhliss (Jaume Cuéllar, min. 91); Naim Garcia (Lucas Román, min. 80), Pau Víctor (Sergi Domínguez, min.91), Unai Hernández.

Another three points for Barça Atlètic after an impressive 3-1 away win at Sestao River Club
a victory that takes them to eighth place in the table
Rafa Márquez's team dominated the encounter and two goals from Marc Bernal and one from Pau Víctor secured an important result for the blaugranes
Barça Atlètic went out at the Estadio Las Llanas with an attacking approach and that philosophy paid off in the first half when Marc Bernal fired home his first goal of the season from the edge of the box on the 20 minute mark
Sestao had chances for an equaliser in the first half but they were denied no more than one occasion by some terrific goalkeeper from Barça Atlètic's Marc Vidal
Into the second half and Barça confirmed their dominance with a second goal just before the hour mark
The blaugranes' pressure in their opponents' half forced an error and Pau Víctor finished well to make it 2-0
Marc Bernal added a third later in the half to round off an excellent individual performance before Aranzabe grabbed a consolation strike for Sestao with three minutes left

Castilla had already fallen at the second hurdle in their 10 game finale
and one more slip could put an end to their aims
they travelled over to Bilbao to play River Sestao Club
a side desperate for points to miraculously save them from impending relegation
and the international players also returning
surely this would have been on of the easier remaining fixtures for the whites
Solari interestingly opted to carry on playing two left backs on the left hand side
The main focus being that Sergio Díaz finally was given the chance in his main position of striker after impressing there last week in just 15 minutes
then he would have been the first choice striker once again..
The in-form Tejero was given the start ahead of Achraf just before kick off
Castilla XI: Abad, Achraf, Lienhart, Hermoso, Abner, Febas, Valverde, Muñoz, Enzo(C), Quezada & Díaz #RealMadridCastilla pic.twitter.com/qgHwj5csgp
There really isn't much I can say about the first half..
Hermoso hit the bar in the first minutes and Díaz came quite close
but after that the play was very slow and dull
and actually started carving out some decent chances
but luckily the goal was incorrectly disallowed for offside
Quezada then saw his amazing effort hit the crossbar towards the end of the half
the referee blew for the break with the scores being 0-0
Sergio Díaz is up front! He impressed in only 15 minutes last week. If he scores today he'll win his spot back for good. #RealMadridCastilla pic.twitter.com/mFLQOar1x2
Solari brought off Abner for striker Campuzano
who agonizingly failed on perhaps his last chance to impress this season
Not long after Achraf came on for Tejero to provide a stronger attacking option
Castilla would have been dead and buried by now
and although Castilla provided a couple of blocks in the build up
nothing was stopping the long range effort by Sestao forward Rodri as it fell to him outside of the box
The ball whistled into the back of Abad's net to give Sestao River a 1-0 lead
with the only real chances falling to Sestao
The only notable chance Castilla created was when Díaz produced a fabulous turn right at the end
but failed to shoot in good time and was eventually stopped well
If he had that chance at the start of the season
That loss could potentially take Castilla down to 7th place
The tactics today were again surplus to requirement
and the performance of the players not good enough
I predict Solari will be gone by the end of the season
who controlled the game for Castilla pretty well
showing off some great passes and dribbles
here are some new short term challenges I'd like to see Castilla complete in the last 6 games:
Castilla host Arenas Club de Getxo next week
It'll be very interesting to see how the manager sets the team up
Castilla earn 3 points to keep them on the right track
Castilla - who played well despite the loss in their last match - were looking to bounce back from a disappointing result at Barakaldo
This week they had numerous players return to the squad
and were playing host to Sestao River Club
Sestao had come with a set plan of action to try and stop Castilla's attacking play
They pressed constantly and doubled up on certain playmakers like Díaz and Ødegaard
This tactic worked very well and resulted in a pretty dull half of football
which is exactly what Sestao wanted - but not good for the fans or the on-looking Zinedine Zidane who was in the stands
Apart from a first minute opportunity squandered by Vergos
Sestao were probably even the better team in the first 45 and made more opportunities
whilst Vergos and Díaz couldn't put away the few chances they had
Castilla looked much brighter from the off
Achraf drove forward and played a great ball into Díaz
who rounded the keeper and finished nicely
Castilla got the goal they really needed to go 1-0 up
Sestao definitely should have scored but luckily for Castilla
Castilla didn't look too much better at the other end
being unable to add to their lead but for an offside Achraf goal
Abner sadly had to come off with an injury
with Tejero and Muñoz coming on in their place
relieving the pressure and giving Febas and Valverde more breathing space
GOAL! 47' @Sergio_Diaz_10! Assisted by @arramadrid98! 1-0 Castilla!! Great goal! #RealMadridCastilla #RealMadridCastillaLive pic.twitter.com/6jASbiKMoj
Just as Sestao were searching for an equalizer
Enzo rescued an over-hit through ball with a slide tackle
and it fell to Ødegaard who couldn't miss from there
Castilla looked a whole lot more comfortable
with Ødegaard coming into the game more and more
chose to attempt to square the ball to Díaz
Castilla managed to close the game out to end it 2-0
which we hope is only minor and that he will be back soon
and even turned out to be the unlikely source in attack which broke the deadlock for Castilla
Top performance by him and the rest of the team
Castilla now have a break and will return next week when they travel to Arenas de Getxo
Ødegaard scores for Castilla! pic.twitter.com/MQ4IpG0fjH
