This was very much a joint international operation The crew members were seized and arrested at sea following their rescue after they attempted to sink the submersible some 280 miles west of the coast of Cadiz when they were surprised by the appearance of the Customs vessel Fulmar "the vessel has similar characteristics to those of other narco-boats located in previous operations and because of the location of the intervention and the crew's behaviour it is presumed that cocaine was being transported on board." The joint operation was launched on the 24 June after information was received from the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) indicating a possible drug shipment exchange between an unknown target and a presumably semi-rigid speedboat in an area where increased surveillance was already being maintained It just so happened that the Fulmar was already sailing to that area in order to optimise its return journey to port this 20-metre semi-submersible was spotted As soon as the vessel's crew became aware of the Customs boat's proximity they opened the ballast valves and climbed to the top of the vessel to get to safety the four crew members were rescued and detained by the crew of the Fulmar The investigators are linking this intervention to a previous one just days earlier when 900 kilos of cocaine were picked up that had been thrown into the sea by a 'narcolancha' (high-speed drugs boat) that was transporting it The crew of the Fulmar' in the early hours of Saturday 22 June located the semi-rigid boat in the suspected handover zone After being spotted the narco-boat began to flee still loaded with a large quantity of bales of the type normally used in cocaine trafficking the attempt to smuggle the drugs was foiled The crew of the narco-boat dumped the cargo of 30 bales containing nearly 900 kilos of cocaine Comentar es una ventaja exclusiva para registrados Essentials visit this turned into a tradition that has been declared a Festivity of National Tourist Interest the chapel of San Roque receives its saint carried in procession from the parish church of Santa Olaia always with its back towards the altar and its face towards the congregation In the beginning the City Council and the church did not agree on this event but ended up accepting and incorporating it into the San Roque festivities It finally became the main celebration with the highest number of attendees the streets turn into a collective shower thanks to firefighters civil protection officers and residents who participate from their windows and balconies Another procession is "San Roque Pequeno" (Little San Roque) with more than 100 years of tradition behind it it takes place on the eve of the Water Festival the original site of the festivity which now is celebrated in the alameda (boulevard) and harbour the saint is moved to the parish church by carriers dressed in white with a red sash accompanied by the priest and authorities Celebrated since 1992 more than 2.000 kilograms of "almejas a la marinera" (fisherman style clams) are savoured during the festivities The naval battle and the procession of floats mark the end of the festivities The first is one of the most important pyrotechnic displays of the province of Pontevedra and the latter consists of a procession of brassbands Purito storms to a stage win to extend his overall lead Spain (AFP) — Overall leader Joaquim Rodríguez (Katusha) won the 12th stage of the Vuelta a España on Thursday a 190.5-kilometer course between Vilagarcia de Arousa to Dumbria Second overall Alberto Contador (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) was second ceding time at the finish and a 10-second time bonus to “Purito.” Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) finished third Rodríguez trailed right behind Contador at the start of the final climb which featured pitches of more than 20-percent gradient but attacked in the final 200 meters to cross the line ahead of his countryman “When I saw Alberto follow my attack “I had slowed down a bit because I know the final section would be the hardest.” “Today I lost a little bit of time but I am closer to the podium than before,” said Valverde despite his run through a fatiguing Giro d’Italia in May A 13-second lead is very little over a rider like Alberto Contador who on a good day leaves his rivals in the dust,” said Rodríguez “But I am going to stay ahead of him for as long as I can.” Froome tried but was not able to respond when Rodríguez and Contador broke away from the rest of the peloton at the start of the final ascent Froome’s teammate Xabier Zandio dropped out of the race after he was involved in a crash along with French champion Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ-BigMat) Zandio fell face-first onto the road and suffered a cut to his forehead He was treated by a race doctor before being taken to hospital Bouhanni’s injuries were not as serious and he was able to complete the stage Friday’s Thanks to Netflix consistently dropping quality content I'm starting to get a serious case of wanderlust even if a series is pretty dark and twisted I can't help but get caught up in the filming locations Like Ozark may be about the criminal underground of middle America The same goes for a Spanish series Netflix recently acquired which seems to have been shot entirely on location Set in the town of Oeste, Unauthorized Living (otherwise known as Vivir Sin Permiso) was filmed in Vilagarcía de Arousa a Spanish town located in the Galicia region However, this beautiful area of northwestern Spain is also well-known for its links to drug trafficking the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime reported that more 1,000 tons of cocaine were seized in Spain in 2016 and ports along the Galicia coast were a "gateway" for the drug In November 2018, Vice published a story about Galicia and its links to the drug trade Due to its origins as an "underdeveloped region" and an absence of governmental support it was up to the people of Galicia to sustain themselves This would eventually lead to smuggling — first tobacco in the '50s and '60s "the clans generated wealth [and] they created much-needed employment." So the movement of cocaine from South America to Galicia — a base from which the drug would then be distributed throughout Europe — essentially developed the region into what it is today And that's where Unauthorized Living comes in the series follows the fictional Nemo Bandeira (played by Jose Coronado) one of Galicia's most notorious cartel leaders who covers up his bad deeds by keeping up the guise of a successful businessman While this may sound like just another Narcos-esque series Unauthorized Living takes a completely unexpected turn when Banderia is diagnosed with Alzheimers and must make the crucial decision of who will be his successor of the cartel according to one of the region's tourist sites Just watching the trailer for Unauthorized Living alone will make you fall in love with the landscapes of Galicia.
