Magnon thus valorises biomass from agricultural and forestry activities in the vicinity of its plants located in Huelva, Cordoba and Jaen. In Huelva, Magnon has a biomass power generation complex with three plants with a total capacity of 137 MW. In the province of Cordoba, the Lucena plant is located (14 MW) and in Jaen, the Villanueva del Arzobispo plant (16 MW).
Magnon is the leader in the biomass market in Spain. Each year it manages more than two million tonnes of agricultural and forestry biomass, through its flexible and capillary supply network. Biomass energy is fully manageable, allowing for a constant production, without depending on climatic factors.
With a total installed capacity in Andalusia of 180 MW, rising to 266 MW in Spain, Magnon plays an important role in the stabilisation of the national electricity system and in the transition to a cleaner energy system.
In addition to leading renewable energy production, Magnon acts as an economic engine in the rural areas of Andalusia, where it generates employment especially in the collection, transport and treatment of the biomass consumed by its plants, close to 800,000 tonnes in Andalusia up to October this year.
Magnon Green Energy continues to develop innovative biomass projects and emerging technologies such as biofuels and energy storage. These advances reinforce its commitment to a just energy transition, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and state policies to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
