The TimesEfforts by President Macron to conceal his holiday destination were foiled when residents spotted him and his wife
France’s first couple are staying in Allauch
in the home of the state prefect of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region
Mr Macron chose the well-guarded residence to escape the public eye and avert the bad publicity his predecessors attracted with their choice of holiday
The house in Allauch and its parkland are surrounded by high walls
The Elysée Palace refused to confirm where the image-conscious president was going when he left for his ten-day break on Thursday and declined to confirm that the Macrons were at Allauch despite them being spotted by three women visiting a hill-top outlook
The women said that police appeared not to have noticed their presence when the president and his wife were escorted there
was spotted jogging on a beach outside Marseilles accompanied by security officers and wearing an Olympique Marseille shirt
With doubts growing over his ability to deliver the “revolution” he promised for France
Mr Macron is intent on doing nothing to provoke voters and unions who are spoiling for a fight when he begins unravelling France’s ultra-protective labour laws next month
The Macrons were spending their time reading
On Friday night they visited the Château de la Buzine
the 20th-century Provençal writer and film-maker
said that the Macrons told her that they were book-lovers who wanted to “walk in the footsteps of the young Pagnol”
according to the local Radio France station
Mr Macron has kept busy with affairs of state and spoke this weekend to President Trump about North Korea
The Macrons have a home in Le Touquet on the Channel coast
They are expected back in Paris next weekend
Last year, designer Pierre Stephane Dumas unveiled his line of room-sized, transparent bubbles that allow people to sleep with almost nothing blocking their view of nature
His goal was to create a portable space that was both comfortable while giving the feeling of being out in the middle of any natural environment - and without disturbing the area very much
not many people are going to be able to afford the €7766 (US$10,987) price tag just to buy one for their weekend camping trip
Luckily for those keen on a see-through sleeping experience
the Attrap’Rêves hotel has recently opened in France to offer visitors a range of fully-furnished bubbles in different scenic locales to use in place of a typical hotel room
The Attrap’Rêves has locations in Allauch and Puget Ville with a third coming soon to La Bouilladisse
The bubbles are all located within a short walking distance from the nearest village and a main building
Each bubble is set up in a forested area on a flat
The only way to get to any bubble is by walking down it's individual access road
Every bubble has been situated in an area with a particularly scenic viewpoint - some of the bubbles in Allauch overlook the nearby harbor
Each bubble has a diameter of 4 meters (13 feet) and a ceiling height of 3 meters (10 feet)
The bubbles are furnished with a king-sized bed
all of which have been designed to fit different styles for guests to choose from
Guests can also choose between bubbles that are fully or partially transparent
depending on how much privacy they would like
each bubble has electricity and a sink/shower area with running water
staying in a bubble will cost about as much as any other hotel room
Prices start at €109 (US$137) and range up to €499 (US$625) depending on what location

Le Temps des Secrets is the adaptation of the novel published in 1960 by Marcel Pagnol
the third instalment of the novelist’s Souvenirs d’enfance
Guillaume de Tonquédec and young Léo Campion
Christophe Barratier shares his vision of this playful
My grandmother was an actress and her walls were covered with photos of Raimu and Fernandel
Topaze… I’ve always heard people talking about Pagnol
it was almost like a “curfew” at home
Pagnol’ s work always appeared quite naturally to me
I feel a sort of complicity and intimacy with the characters
The movie focuses on Marcel who leaves primary school and enters the “big league”
discovering first love and also secrets hidden by his parents
I had to work on reorganising scenes and I sometimes had to take things from Pagnol’s other books to add to the dialogues and I’ve made certain moments of the film more spectacular such as when they hunt the snake in the cave
Pagnol says very profound things on details; he actually used to say “The details
Pagnol places himself so much at our level that his stories continue to resonate… And that’s good because it makes people continue to tell the stories
I was impressed by the way they shared the feelings
emotions and also the games of their characters in their 1905 world
I love the south but I didn’t know Marseille and the surrounding area well. We got a warm welcome. After two weeks of filming, I felt I belonged here. And we were also very lucky to have an almost totally local cast, which was really good.
