UCF replaced one former standout South Florida high school quarterback with another through the transfer portal Thursday
Born in São Paulo, Belfort reclassified from the 2025 graduating class but did not see the field for the Hokies last fall
The 20-year-old dual-threat was expected to be Virginia Tech’s third-string QB behind Kyron Drones and Pop Watson for the upcoming campaign

Belfort completed 66.4% of his passes for 2,598 yards with 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions
He gained 487 yards on the ground with nine scores
finishing as Western’s second-leading rusher
Belfort is the son of former Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort
the elder Belfort compiled a professional mixed martial arts record of 26-14 with one no contest
winning 18 times by knockout and three times via submission

Belfort is currently a redshirt freshman who recently starred in Virginia Tech's spring game this past weekend
Belfort notched 51 yards on 7-11 through the air
The former Under Armour All-American was highly touted coming out of high school
among many other schools across the nation
Belfort was the 50th best QB in the 247Sports Composite
Below is an overview of Belfort form 247Sports
"An undersized competitor that can draw you in with his tantalizing stretches of play
Unique pedigree for a quarterback as he’s the son of MMA great Vitor Belfort
Originally was a member of the 2025 recruiting class
but elected to move up a year in the Summer of 2022 and enrolled at Miami’s Gulliver Prep for his junior season
Ended up missing a few games due to injury
but still accounted for 2,300 yards of total offense and 16 touchdowns
Can quickly set up and let it rip with his tighter mechanics
but some of his best throws come when he’s climbing through the pocket and evading pressure
but is pretty scrappy as a runner and isn’t afraid to lower the shoulder pad and take a blow in hopes of moving the chains
Likely to find most success in a single-back spread attack that leans heavily on play-action as that should allow him to create on the move
Must continue to improve as a passer and adjust to the speed of the college game
but has some of the tools required to eventually make an impact on Saturdays."

Virginia Tech quarterback Davi Belfort plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal
He does so after just one year with the Hokies
Belfort is the son of MMA legend Vitor Belfort
He did not see game action during his lone season with Virginia Tech
Davi Belfort is widely considered a top-notch college football prospect
He was a three-time team captain in high school and was named All-City
He was selected to the All-State team as a senior
He accounted for 3,115 total yards and 34 touchdowns
Thhat was high-quality production playing at a program as prestigious as Miami Gulliver Prep
Davi Belfort was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No

125 overall recruit in the state of Florida
hailing from Fort Lauderdale (FL) Gulliver Prep
The news at quarterback for Virginia Tech is a little dicey
in part due to the Davi Belfort impending transfer and in part due to injuries
Multiple quarterbacks were dealing with ailments coming out of spring practice
Head coach Brent Pry shared the latest on quarterback Kyron Drones following the signal caller’s recent medical procedure. The injury is still undisclosed but Drones is expected back healthy for the season.

But because of that, he did not play in Saturday’s spring game. Neither did fellow quarterback William “Pop” Watson
As far as the recovery for Drones is concerned
it’s all about managing the rehab after the procedure
It’ll be key if he’s going to be back under center sooner rather than later
“Kyron had his procedure on Wednesday,” Pry said after the team’s spring game. “Went well. Pop has a soft tissue injury. He did it on Tuesday, and you know, we were hoping he’d be able to go today, and it just wasn’t well enough. If it had been a true game, we know he would have dressed and given it a real shot, but I didn’t want to set him back. So it just didn’t make sense.”
In any case, the Virginia Tech Hokies are planning to move forward without Davi Belfort in the quarterback room. So further healing and development will be needed.

or was he told he didn’t have a future at Tech

Maybe the new OL coach had a heart to heart with him about his potential on the team
The quarterback room is going to have some of the most attrition these days of any
Guys just don’t wanna sit for 2-3 years to start only 1-2
and even that’s not a given anymore with the portal
Maybe the spring game seemed really easy to him
and he thinks he has the tools to play right now
Was he the best of the future QB prospects
Probably did not want to wait a year or two

Média-Participations’ French animation production company
announces a partnership with the historic Château de Versailles for the new series Belfort & Lupin
the series is commissioned by France Télévisions and has already sold to several international partners through Mediatoon Distribution
Belfort & Lupin relates 26 humorous adventures in the palace of Versailles and its gardens
from the perspective of the animals that live there
At the heart of the stories are Belfort — the King’s favorite
a young spaniel who has lost his sense of smell — and his friend Lupin — a wolf as casual as he is instinctive — who live surrounded by the exotic animals of the 17th-century royal court
Belfort & Lupin was born from the artist’s fascination with the aesthetic and historical universe of Versailles
the teams from the Château de Versailles and the Versailles Research Center have worked closely with the creator and the series’ writers
This collaboration allowed them to imagine a fictional
which is nevertheless always tied to historical accuracy
“I was keen to create a well-documented series
a writer and story supervisor for successful animated series such as Calimero
“I’ll never forget capturing the unique sounds of Versailles —the creaking wooden floors
the resonant echoes of the Hall of Mirrors — and witnessing a Château clockmaker activate centuries-old mechanisms for our recordings.”
The collaboration with the Château was also essential during the production phase
particularly for the animation of historical sites
was reinterpreted and incorporated into the universe of Belfort & Lupin
with a strong foundation in historical documentation
The archivists also ensured the accurate representation of the many personalities encountered in the series
each episode ends with an educational segment
providing historical insights into the theme and characters mentioned
“Thanks to this significant partnership
we had the unique opportunity to anchor the creation of the series in a historical and heritage context of exceptional richness
Fiction and reality blend to take children through the surprising and thrilling adventures of the Sun King’s animals,” adds Caroline Duvochel
General Director of Audiovisual & Innovation at Média Participations
“What could be more magical than entering Versailles through an animated series
It is with great curiosity that the Château embarked on this project
and it is with enthusiasm that we discovered the first images
I cannot wait for generations to follow the footsteps of this charming duo!”
Belfort & Lupin is directed by Philippe Vidal (The Garfield Show)
the show will be available on Okoo before its French broadcast premiere on February 7
Mediatoon Distribution has already secured several international presales for the series during its production
Belfort & Lupin will be launched worldwide by partner channels including SWR (Germany)
Final delivery of the full series is expected to Q2 2025
original stories of Belfort & Lupin will be released in comic books by Editions Dupuis
The first volume will be published in May 2025
written by Stehly and illustrated by Lesdeuxpareilles
An audio series project is also in advanced discussion

Coming up on 17 years, UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is nearing the end of his illustrious run in the Octagon with his ‘swan song’ yet to be sung
Jones locked in his first heavyweight title defense last November at UFC 309 where he sent former champion Stipe Miocic into retirement with a spinning back kick to the body
Jones could soon join Miocic in retirement, that is, if he doesn’t unify the title against interim champion Tom Aspinall first
Fans have been clamoring for the heavyweight super-fight between Jones and Aspinall for well over 500 days now
leaving many to wonder whether Jones will accept the challenge from the younger
Jones the obvious A-side with all of his accolades, former UFC Champion Vitor Belfort advises his former rival to walk away from Aspinall while he still can
“He doesn’t need to prove nothing to no one,” Belfort said of Jones in an interview with Helen Yee
“He’s always someone who wants to prove [I can beat this guy]
“I would like to see him to walk away the way he is
Some people wanna see him losing the fight
Technically, Jones isn’t undefeated with his only loss in 30 pro fights a disqualification to Matt Hamill in 2009 for illegal 12-6 elbows (which are now legal under the new unified rules)
Jones refused to tap before he eventually found his way out and later submitted Belfort himself with a keylock
While Jones has cleared generations of light heavyweights in the past
Vitor Belfort is worried his former rival has finally met his match with the future of the heavyweight division
The #1-ranked Aspinall is almost six years younger than Jones
carrying explosive KO power and speed which has left many contenders unconscious on the canvas
Aspinall has 100% takedown defense and takedown accuracy and averages 8.07 strikes per minute
Aspinall has the shortest average fight time at 2:02
“Aspinall’s a risk fight for him,” Belfort said
“I just wanna see [Jones] do some fun fights
I think you did everything you could,” Belfort said of Jon Jones’ UFC legacy
With or without Tom Aspinall, Jon Jones has already cemented himself as the greatest, if not one of the greatest fighters of all time
the UFC production team releases hours upon hours’ worth of footage that offers glimpses into the lives of modern MMA fighters – yet that wasn’t always the case
Back in 2012, it was Dana White’s own personal camera crew who were doing most of the heavy lifting
trailing the UFC CEO from event-to-event and capturing all manner of behind-the-scenes content
In January 2012, the UFC returned to Rio De Janeiro for a PPV that featured Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson and former light heavyweight champion Vitor ‘The Phenom’ Belfort in the co-main event
Johnson vs Belfort was originally booked to take place at middleweight but was eventually moved to a catchweight of 197lbs after the American failed to make weight
Yet behind-the-scenes video footage from Dana White’s Fight Week VLOG series
reveals that Belfort was also struggling to cut the pounds
As White watched Belfort cutting weight in the locker room
the UFC CEO looked completely dumbfounded when the Brazilian picked up and chomped down on a towel packed with ice cubes
😂 Check out Dana White's reaction to Vitor Belfor biting a towel filled with ice 🧊 pic.twitter.com/YUqkcWkO12
can I get a bite of that?” laughed White as he attempted to negotiate the consequences of a catchweight bout
should Belfort want to forgo the rest of the cut
Belfort’s pre-fight snack certainly raised one or two eyebrows; however
what he was doing was keeping his mouth wet so that he didn’t take in more water than he needed to before weigh-ins
Belfort would ultimately agree to fight Johnson at 197lbs – that decision proved worthwhile as just a few hours later
he scored a first-round submission in front of his boisterous home crowd
In a sport that allows elbows, knees, kicks, and all manner of damaging strikes; the most dangerous part of fighting in Mixed Martial Arts remains the weight-cutting process
Throughout his career as a UFC commentator, Joe Rogan has seen how the process can have disastrous consequences for a fighter’s career and health
even once labeling it as ‘sanctioned cheating’
“No one should be cutting weight kids, I think what they really should do is just find out what you f—– actually weigh and just stop this nonsense,” he said on the Joe Rogan Podcast back in September
“It should be looked at the same way that steroids are looked at
it should be looked at the same way that all other kinds of cheating are looked at – it’s sanctioned cheating… And [there should be] more options for weight classes
“One of the things that they say about head injuries and deaths in boxing is that the vast majority of them don’t take place at heavyweight,” acknowledged the popular UFC insider
“So the guys that hit the hardest are not the guys who are getting these horrible brain injuries or dead inside the ring… A lot of the guys who are dying are dying in weight classes where they cut a lot of weight
adding how “It’s a part of the [MMA] culture that can be eradicated – I don’t think it’s impossible.”
the self-proclaimed “Wolf of Wall Street” who served 22 months in prison for financial fraud crimes including pump-and-dump schemes related to penny stocks
has advice for today’s investors: stay away from penny stocks
In an interview on the Benzinga podcast “The Raz Report” to promote his upcoming book “The Wolf of Investing” (published by Simon & Schuster)
Belfort – who now works as a motivational speaker and sales coach – stated that the investment vehicle he once tireless promoted should be avoided
“I think that by and large almost all penny stocks are garbage
“Knowing the penny stock world really well
I think that for the most part penny stocks are not designed to work
They’re designed to enrich the people that issue them
I think that deck is so heavily stacked against investors in the penny stock world because you’re not dealing in a realm where the companies themselves are designed and the market capitalization are in line with reality.”
whose tumultuous rise and fall was the subject of the Oscar-nominated 2013 film “The Wolf of Wall Street,” admitted there were some exceptions to the rule
He pointed to Australian penny stocks tied to local mining companies as being worthy of study
he expressed intriguing over stocks that once were traded on major exchanges but wound up trading as penny stocks when their companies faced financial challenges
“That’s not to say that every once in a while a penny stock becomes real,” he said
quickly adding that for the most part the current line-up of penny stock should be viewed skeptically because “their market caps are out of whack with what the companies are worth.”

“The fire was not related to hydrogen or its use.” This clarification comes from Yannick Monnier, Director of the Régie des transports du Territoire de Belfort, following the incident that destroyed seven hydrogen-powered buses at the Optymo depot in Danjoutin on January 2nd 2025
In his interview with French media outlet Mobily-Cités
Monnier highlighted that initial analyses suggest the blaze was electrically generated
though the exact malfunction remains under investigation
the vehicle at the center of the fire had been out of service since December 31
ruling out any thermal activity at the time of the incident
Monnier offered reassurance about the incident
underscoring the effectiveness of the hydrogen buses’ safety mechanisms
“All the safety systems on the hydrogen buses worked perfectly
The TPRD fuses on the tanks effectively evacuated the hydrogen
generating hissing noises that alerted local residents and mobilised the fire brigade,” he explained
“The flares that fed the fire came from burning plastics and other materials
which were quickly dissipated by the safety devices.”
“This incident will not question Belfort’s hydrogen strategy,” Monnier added
reiterating the plan to power 50% of the bus fleet with hydrogen by 2025

Vitor Belfort ruthlessly knocked out Evander Holyfield in September 2021 after bringing his iconic 41-fight career in MMA to a close and transitioning to the square circle
‘The Phenom’ hasn’t fought in the last 18 months and fans could be forgiven for assuming that the 47-year-old is done with fighting – but they’d be mistaken
Belfort hopes to spearhead a new combat sport that will combine MMA and boxing rules to create the ultimate viewing experience for fans
Tommy Fury is the man he wants to face in the sport’s historic debut
“If I can point to one fight that really interest me today, Tyson Fury’s brother,” Belfort told Inside Fighting.
“I would love to fight him with gloves where I’d be able to grab and get a hold of him
“I always wanted to bring what’s next with a vision of combat sports
but if you can bring a sport where you can bring the best of both sports with one ruleset
I think people will have the fight of their lives
“That is what I’m looking to present to the combat sport fans… The problem is a lot of people don’t want to risk what they have
People are very afraid of risking what they have rather than looking to the future and seeing it as an investment
“The future of combat sport is bringing MMA and boxing under one ruleset together.”
Fury has spoken about becoming a boxing world champion
but he’s spent his entire career to date competing on reality TV shows and facing off against influencer boxers
The 25-year-old boasts a perfect 10-0 record and holds wins over KSI and Jake Paul but often faces unfair comparisons to his former heavyweight world champion brother
Belfort is a big fan of ‘TNT’ and thinks he would make the perfect dance partner
I really have so much respect for this family,” he explained
he’s much younger than me but that [fight] would be an honour
I’m at a stage of my life where I don’t want to compete against someone I don’t admire or I don’t see a level of how we can make something to bring to the masses and [multiple] generations
“One year before he was coming to this Earth
“My dream is to put this sport together where we would be able to fight with rules that combine MMA [and boxing]
I’m not gonna doing anything besides punching
but I would be able to grab him in the clinch
“It takes one person to say yes so we can become the biggest history fight for years from today
He would be a guy I would love to have the honor to step in the ring and do something like that with.”

the authorities caught onto him — and when they did
He became an informant and sold out his former business partners in exchange for a lesser sentence
it has proven difficult to keep the real Wolf of Wall Street down
he’s still running a business and is frequently booked for speaking engagements
especially in the wake of his 2007 memoir aptly titled The Wolf of Wall Street and the 2013 Martin Scorsese film of the same name
Jordan Belfort wasn’t always the real-life Wolf of Wall Street
Before he was one of New York’s most infamous fraudsters
Belfort was a young Jewish kid growing up in Queens in the 1960s
He always had a keen eye — if not for business
During the summers, he would “hustle Italian ices blanket-to-blanket, and make a fortune,” according to Belfort’s own memoir
he made $20,000 every year selling treats on the beach
a skill that would no doubt help him in the future
Belfort went on to attend American University
earning a degree in biology with plans to attend dental school
He then enrolled in the University of Maryland School of Dentistry only to have his dreams crushed by brutal reality
“the dean got up before the incoming class and explained how the Golden Age of Dentistry was over and if you were becoming a dentist to make a lot of money
then you should quit now and save yourself the time and aggravation… I got up right then and there and never went back.”
With this change in plans, Belfort started a business selling meat and seafood door-to-door. Around the same time, he met the woman who would become his first wife, Denise Lombardo
Personal PhotoYoung Denise Lombardo and Jordan Belfort
Lombardo was reportedly working at a hair salon when she and Belfort met
forcing Belfort to file for bankruptcy at the age of 25
“We would get down on our hands and knees and roll up change to pay for shampoo,” Belfort wrote
and I was a failure… [W]hen I met Denise
I was convinced that she loved me for my car
which was a pretty big deal for a kid in his early 20s
especially a kid from a poor family.”
Then, a family friend helped Belfort get a job as a trainee stockbroker at L.F. Rothschild. Things were looking up until 1987 when the stock market crashed and he lost the gig. Fortunately, he soon met Danny Porush
and together they would go on to found Stratton Oakmont — and make millions
Paramount Pictures/Wikimedia CommonsLeonardo DiCaprio portrayed Jordan Belfort in the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street
Stratton Oakmont was described by Porush and Belfort as an “over-the-counter” brokerage house that specialized in selling low-cost common shares of small companies known as “penny stocks.” The firm then artificially inflated prices before dumping their own shares for a high profit
he admitted that it was “half a scam.” Even that description was a bit generous
At the cost of their investors’ money
Porush and Belfort were living the high life
They threw extravagant parties — many of which were portrayed
in The Wolf of Wall Street — and employed more than 1,000 stockbrokers
the total value of stocks issued by Stratton Oakmont was more than $1 billion
including the initial public offering of Steve Madden’s shoe company (Madden was an elementary school friend of Porush)
During one of Belfort’s parties, he met a beautiful young model named Nadine Caridi and became obsessed with her
“When I first met Jordan, it was in the Hamptons in the early ’90s. He was throwing a party in what exemplified the excess of Wall Street, money, and youth,” Caridi wrote for Newsweek in 2022
“The movie got it right — someone did expose themselves to me
We ended up falling in love and getting married.”
Belfort was still with his first wife at the time
and they soon went through a bitter divorce
His subsequent wedding to Caridi in 1991 also happened much quicker than she would have preferred
He bombarded her with gifts and promised her that if she married him
Some people even began to call her the “Duchess of Bay Ridge” because of their lavish lifestyle
as the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) took notice of Stratton Oakmont’s misdeeds
the NASD finally had enough information to expel Stratton Oakmont and put it out of business — and then the FBI came looking for Belfort
Nadine Macaluso/FacebookJordan Belfort and Nadine Caridi divorced in 2005
She cited abuse and Belfort’s drug addiction as the major issues that plagued their marriage
Belfort was indicted in 1999 for securities fraud and money laundering
but he struck a deal with the FBI to wear a wire and gather enough evidence to put many of his former partners behind bars
Belfort was sentenced to four years in prison
his schemes had cost investors more than $100 million
Belfort was ordered to pay out $110 million in restitution — which was a difficult thing to do when he had no money left
a friend Belfort made in prison — none other than comedian Tommy Chong — suggested that he write a book about his experience
This would eventually become The Wolf of Wall Street
The book’s success enabled Belfort to pivot his career once again
As for paying back the investors he defrauded, Belfort told the Sacramento Bee in a 2014 interview that he was putting $10,000 per month toward the restitution
as well as the profits from media royalties and his public speaking engagements
It’s estimated that he’s paid back about $15 million so far
It’s hard to say if Jordan Belfort has changed — and if so
he seems to recognize and condemn his past actions
it is only a fraction of the amount he and his partners “earned” during the Stratton Oakmont years
the story of the real-life Wolf of Wall Street is a classic tale of greed gone too far

is famous for a few things: defrauding investors out of millions
Jordan Belfort is seemingly a reformed man
He speaks regularly about the dangers of his previous lifestyle
it’s clear that Invernizzi is a good bit younger than her husband
Invernizzi was an Argentinian model and soap opera actress when she first met Belfort in 2019
and Invernizzi became the fourth wife of Jordan Belfort
Belfort’s first two marriages ended in accusations of infidelity
Cristina Invernizzi now fills her social media pages with photos of her modeling gigs and the lavish trips she takes with her husband
painting a picture of opulent wealth despite Belfort’s time behind bars and hefty restitution bill
Cristina Invernizzi/InstagramCristina Invernizzi often posts photos from the lavish vacations she and Jordan Belfort take
Not much is known about Cristina Invernizzi’s early life in Argentina
she earned a minor role in the telenovela Cita a Ciegas
It was while she was living in Mexico in 2019 that Invernizzi met Jordan Belfort
He was reportedly in Guadalajara to speak at an event
and they ran into each other at a bar in the city
Belfort was still legally married to his third wife
Belfort and Invernizzi dated for less than two years before they secretly wed in a small ceremony in Las Vegas in February 2021
Just after the wedding, Jordan Belfort sat down with The Times to talk about how his life has changed since his Wall Street years
“I’m in deep,” he said of his new bride
“I’m very boring these days.”
“boring” isn’t a word that would describe the man depicted in The Wolf of Wall Street

defrauded investors by running a “pump and dump” scheme and falsely inflating the value of certain stocks
This didn’t go unnoticed by federal authorities
Belfort was indicted for securities fraud and money laundering
providing them with information that ultimately led to the convictions of several of his colleagues
Belfort only ever served 22 months in prison
though he was ordered to pay back $110 million in restitution to defrauded investors
During his time at Stratton Oakmont and behind bars
Belfort was also married twice — and both of the relationships met ugly ends

Jordan Belfort was married three times before he met Cristina Invernizzi. His first marriage was to a woman named Denise Lombardo
a hair salon employee Belfort met while he was selling meat door-to-door in the 1980s
“We would get down on our hands and knees and roll up change to pay for shampoo.”
Belfort ultimately had to file for bankruptcy when he was 25 due to the failure of his meat business
he said he thought Lombardo would leave him
and when Belfort eventually found work as a trainee stockbroker at L.F
Then, in the late 1980s, Belfort and Porush started Stratton Oakmont. During one of their raucous parties depicted in The Wolf of Wall Street, Belfort met a model named Nadine Caridi

Belfort was reportedly obsessed with Caridi
and despite still being married to Lombardo
This eventually culminated in an affair that brought a bitter end to his first marriage
she cited abuse and Belfort’s drug addiction as the major issues that plagued their relationship
two years after he was released from prison
While her name is often left out of reports
Belfort refers to Cristina Invernizzi as “my fourth wife (but
who’s counting?)” in his new book
and he noted on his podcast that he and Koppe were married for 12 years before amicably splitting
They are reportedly still business partners

Jordan Belfort is working on two new business ventures

Belfort herself hasn’t said much about their relationship
Aside from posts on her Instagram and other social media profiles
she has remained quiet on her marriage to Belfort and has taken part in no interviews since their wedding was announced

“Mad Max” Belfort was Jordan Belfort’s father

Lombardo’s name is never mentioned in the Martin Scorsese film
but she is represented by the character Teresa Petrillo

but the Wolf admitted later that he had cheated on Lombardo “dozens of times” before she found out
“some old socialite who’d lost her sex appeal — like she was being traded in for a girl who still had some life left in her!”
Lombardo has never spoken about her marriage to Belfort or the tumultuous divorce
she hasn’t spoken publicly about anything
Some reports suggest she went on to work in the real estate business
but she ultimately disappeared from the public view in the early 1990s
Steve Madden is best known as a fashion designer
and the man himself makes frequent public appearances at red carpet events
he got into some legal trouble — and it was all due to his relationship with Jordan Belfort
the fashion designer who was known to party with Jordan Belfort
Madden was Danny Porush’s childhood friend
Porush and Belfort saw his potential as their golden opportunity
went through an initial public offering handled by Stratton Oakmont
Madden and Belfort developed a deeper business relationship
and Belfort made a habit of calling Madden “the Cobbler.”
When it comes to the true story of The Wolf of Wall Street
Stratton Oakmont really did use aggressive and often fraudulent sales tactics to manipulate the stock price of Steve Madden Ltd
This resulted in significant profits for the brokerage and for Madden
who was later found to be complicit in these activities
But like most relationships in Belfort’s life
Belfort’s drug use and legal troubles made him paranoid; he started to think everyone was plotting against him
“The price of Steve Madden Shoes was being dictated by the laws of supply and demand — rising and falling with the fortunes of the company itself
not the fortunes of any particular brokerage firm that was recommending it,” Belfort wrote
“The Cobbler had to be plotting against me,” he continued
“Perhaps that bald bastard had deluded himself
thinking I wouldn’t have the balls to expose our secret agreement
that by its very nature it would cause both of us too many problems if I made it public
as Steve Madden in The Wolf of Wall Street
had been one of the first major stocks for which Stratton Oakmont was fixing the market
and some of Belfort’s own stocks were even in Madden’s name
But when the feds started to crack down on Belfort and he turned on his fellow cohorts
“He ratted me out to save himself,” Madden told the Hollywood Reporter in 2014
Madden served 31 months in prison for his involvement with the stock manipulation
he has worked to clean up his image and successfully turned his company into a massive brand
As for Scorsese’s film and its portrayal of Madden
it seems the designer’s only complaint was that Jake Hoffman “was too nerdy.”
Margot Robbie’s big break came when she accepted the role of Naomi Lapaglia in The Wolf of Wall Street, but like many other characters in the film, there is no “real” Naomi Lapaglia. Rather, the character was heavily inspired by a real person from Belfort’s life — in this case, his second wife Nadine Caridi
Nadine Macaluso/FacebookNadine Macaluso (née Caridi) was a model and the second wife of Jordan Belfort
Caridi was best known as a model and actress
appearing in a variety of ads for Miller Lite and Seagram’s
She met Belfort at a rowdy party in the Hamptons while he was still married to his first wife
someone at the party exposed himself to Caridi
But Belfort had noticed her — and become infatuated
They married relatively quickly after his first marriage came to an end
and he often showered Caridi with gifts and other luxuries
focusing on helping people overcome trauma from past relationships
she has spoken at length about the numerous “red flags” she ignored in her relationship with Belfort — namely
his threat to leave her if she refused to marry him just six months into their relationship
But the biggest issue that pervaded throughout their relationship was Belfort’s drug use and infidelity
Their marriage spanned a total of 14 years
most of which were during the worst parts of the Stratton Oakmont era
was Belfort’s 22 months behind bars as a result of his pump and dump stock fraud scheme
Paramount PicturesMargot Robbie as Naomi Lapaglia
Despite her nickname, the “Duchess of Bay Ridge,” Macaluso has stated that her relationship with Belfort was never about the money. “People think I left because he lost all of our money,” Macaluso wrote for Newsweek in 2022
“but I ended the marriage because I finally could
and shared her experience being married to the real Wolf of Wall Street as a way of helping other women move on from similar situations
SAO PAULO — Anderson Silva will never fight Vitor Belfort again
“The Spider” is slated to face Chael Sonnen for a third time Saturday in Sao Paulo
in a 216-pound exhibition boxing match that headlines Spaten Fight Night
The UFC legend revealed Wednesday that he’s currently in talks to compete in an 180-pound pro boxing match later this year in Abu Dhabi
the former UFC middleweight champion told MMA Fighting that there’s absolutely no chance he ever faces Belfort a second time
“The history with Vitor is over,” Silva said
What would be more impressive than that kick I landed on Vitor
Only if he entered the ring and I blew air and he went down
“He has to go to bed with the fact that he lost with a kick to the face. And I have to go to bed with the fact that I lost twice to a guy that was the underdog, you know? I lost twice [to Chris Weidman]
and I have to go to bed with that and not call out this guy
We have to understand we’re not the best in the world and we’re not perfect.”
Weidman dethroned Silva with a stunning knockout at UFC 162 in 2013, and then Silva fractured his leg in their rematch at UFC 168
Silva revealed that Spaten Fight Night considered working on Weidman as his opponent for June 15
but ultimately booked the Sonnen match instead
“People have a hard time [dealing with past results]
You had the shot to fight and now you’ve lost
It turned out that Belfort was right to be paranoid — he was just paranoid about the wrong people
While he was focused on men like Steve Madden or Victor Wang screwing him over
the FBI was years deep in an investigation into Belfort’s illegal activities
And at the head of the investigation was agent Gregory Coleman
the hero of the true story behind The Wolf of Wall Street
a former FBI Agent who spent six years investigating Jordan Belfort
“I spent hundreds of hours tracking down [Belfort’s] plane, the boat, getting the financial documents,” Coleman said in a 2015 interview with Philly Burbs
“I’m ready to have parties on that boat with the FBI
It’s at the bottom of the ocean.”
Jordan Belfort’s yacht really did sink off the coast of Sicily
and Belfort reportedly wasn’t rushing to the island for an important business meeting — he just had a tee time the next morning he didn’t want to miss
Coleman was with the FBI for more than 25 years before retiring in January 2015
though he still does work as a speaker and consultant on financial misdeeds
Coleman was no stranger to crimes like the ones Belfort was committing
but he recalled that it was tough to get anything definitive on the Wolf
“One of the biggest problems I had in cracking the case was getting through the loyalties of his employees,” Coleman said
Paramount PicturesKyle Chandler as Agent Patrick Denham
Those dominos eventually reached Porush — and Belfort shortly after
Coleman had already had a successful career by the time Belfort crossed his radar
but the takedown of Stratton Oakmont would prove to be a career-defining investigation
“Belfort did not sell stocks,” Coleman said
he and spent millions just to make it seem like he was successful — millions
that could have been spent on actually successful business ventures
Belfort had defrauded investors of $110 million

Kenneth Choi’s character Chester Ming doesn’t play the largest role in The Wolf of Wall Street
features prominently in Belfort’s memoir
a former collaborator and rival of Jordan Belfort
“Like the rest of Long Island’s educationally challenged dream-seekers
Victor had also fallen into my employ,” Belfort wrote
“albeit not at Stratton Oakmont.”
Belfort and Wang were introduced to each other by Wang’s childhood friend Kenny Greene — who Belfort calls “Blockhead” — and it was clear from the beginning that Belfort didn’t care for his new partner
Belfort referred to Wang as “a dead ringer for Oddjob
the hitman from the James Bond movie Goldfinger.”
Wang served as the CEO of the public company Judicate
the offices of which were in the basement of Stratton Oakmont
Judicate was an Alternative Dispute Resolution company
a “classic example of a business looking terrific on paper but not translating into the real world.”
these sorts of companies were used by Wall Street elites all the time
took issue with his “company’s” slow decline
despite Belfort admitting there was nothing Wang could do about it
Paramount PicturesKenneth Choi as Chester Ming
a character based on the real-life Victor Wang
Wang wanted Belfort’s help in opening his own firm
He wanted a chance to make it on Wall Street
but Belfort seemed to believe that Victor Wang had an inflated ego — one that stopped him from becoming a “Strattonite” in the early days
and he knew Belfort was planning to sell off his stocks before the bubble burst
“I would then advise him to trade in such a manner that would leave him subtly exposed,” Belfort wrote
“And there were ways to do that that only the most sophisticated traders would pick up on
ways that Victor certainly would not… And when he least expected it
I would turn on him with all my power and attack.”
Wang ultimately became another of Belfort’s victims in the true story of The Wolf of Wall Street
He found himself flooded with stocks with no way of knowing who was buying them
his partnership with Belfort would come back to bite him
As The New York Times reported at the time
Wang wound up pleading guilty in federal court to charges of enterprise corruption in relation to his firm
The 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street is based on the life of Jordan Belfort
the founder of the brokerage house Stratton Oakmont who ran a years-long securities fraud scheme that lost his investors up to $200 million
The movie details the outrageous lifestyle of Belfort and his associates — but the true story of The Wolf of Wall Street is even wilder than the events depicted on screen
Belfort made a lot of money by ripping off a lot of people
Belfort’s story isn’t the only one told in the film
and business partners are depicted as well — and many of them are true
Danny Porush — the man Jonah Hill’s character Donnie Azoff is partly based on — has called Belfort’s memoir
“a distant relative of the truth.” However
he’s also admitted that many of the more unbelievable scenes in the film actually happened
how does the true story of The Wolf of Wall Street really compare to the movie
Jordan Belfort, the titular “Wolf of Wall Street,” is a former stockbroker and current motivational speaker whose life of excess and fraudulent activity became the central focus of Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film, which was, in turn, based on Belfort’s autobiography of the same name
giving a talk at Madison Square Garden in 2017
the man behind the true story of The Wolf of Wall Street grew up in a modest family
He exhibited entrepreneurial traits early on
selling Italian ice on the beach to fund his college education
where he studied biology with aspirations of becoming a dentist
he left dental school after the first day when the dean remarked that the career was no longer a path to wealth
selling meat and seafood door-to-door on Long Island
Belfort began working as a trainee stockbroker at L.F
he met Danny Porush and sold him on the idea of entering the stock trading business together — and with that pitch
Stratton Oakmont operated as a boiler room
using high-pressure sales tactics to defraud investors out of millions of dollars
Belfort and his associates would inflate the prices of penny stocks and then sell their own holdings at a profit
a practice known as a “pump and dump” scheme
This allowed them to rake in vast sums of money while leaving investors with worthless shares
The extravagant lifestyle Belfort led during his time at Stratton Oakmont is well-documented
and he famously indulged in Quaaludes and cocaine
Belfort’s personal life was equally tumultuous
His first marriage to Denise Lombardo ended after he cheated on her with the model who would become his second wife
things had already been strained due to Belfort’s drug use and partying
But his relationship with Caridi was hardly any better
The marriage was marred by Belfort’s continued drug abuse
Paramount PicturesLeonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street
Belfort’s criminal activities did not go unnoticed by authorities
he was indicted for securities fraud and money laundering
providing information that led to the convictions of several of his colleagues
Belfort was also ordered to pay $110 million in restitution to defrauded investors
Belfort reinvented himself as a motivational speaker and author
was published in 2007 and became a bestseller — and went on to serve as the source material for the 2013 film
Belfort continues to give speeches and seminars on sales techniques
Belfort has attempted to position himself as a reformed character
with many questioning the sincerity of his transformation

The woman who was married to the real-life Wolf of Wall Street in his heyday has revealed that a grim scene in the film actually happened to her
Now, you're probably wondering which weird moment I'm referring to, given the fact that there's plenty of bizarre things in Martin Scorsese's 2013 flick
There's a dwarf-throwing contest at one point, Leonardo DiCaprio tumbles down a flight of stairs while high as a kite on Quaaludes and Jonah Hill scrans a goldfish
But these strange moments are a lot more light-hearted than one particular scene in The Wolf of Wall Street, which was directly inspired by Nadine Macaluso's real life experience
Jordan Belfort's former wife, dubbed the 'Duchess of Bay Ridge', was expertly played by Margot Robbie in the hit film
Robbie sat down with Macaluso ahead of filming to get some tips on how to play her, as The Wolf of Wall Street is based on real-life tales included in Belfort's 2007 memoir
Although the movie is based on the true story of the stockbroker's unbelievable rise and fall, Scorsese obviously upped the dramatics for the sake of entertainment and exaggerated a few things
But Macaluso has now revealed that one disturbing scene in the film wasn't sensationalised at all
as it really did happen to her in real life
The licensed marriage and family therapist, now 57, explained that a man really did expose himself to her at the infamous party at a beachfront mansion in West Hampton
Jonah Hill was the actor who was tasked with recreating this creepy incident in The Wolf of Wall Street
During an appearance on Matthew Cox's Inside True Crime podcast in February this year
Macaluso opened up about what really went down
"It wasn't as big as the party in the movie, but it was certainly at a beautiful house on the ocean," she said of Scorsese's depiction of the day she first met her future husband
I didn't know anybody there and I certainly didn't know my ex-husband at the time
I went with my current boyfriend and I walked in and everybody seemed very strange."
She explained that this was because the guests weren't exactly 'sober' and were all 'on ludes' - but this wasn't what threw her for a spin
Macaluso continued: "The thing that was shocking to me more about the party
'We have to get the hell out of here - these people are crazy'
I ran in and I ran out - now that should have been a red flag
Macaluso previously touched on the incident in a TikTok post last year too
while recalling how most men in attendance at the party were 'making lewd and weird comments'
She said she was 'terrified' when the bloke exposed himself to her and 'left right away' with her boyfriend at the time
As for how accurate the film was as a whole
Macaluso added: "I think that if you look at it through Jordan's lens it was really accurate
"I think that if you look at it through my lens it wasn't
and that makes sense because that was actually how our marriage was."
