we celebrate World Water Day to unite toward solving the global water and sanitation crisis
“Water for Peace,” the day reminds us of the deep interconnection of water security
My new colleagues are very passionate about our purpose to contribute to a world in which every human has daily access to clean drinking water; every industry has enough water to make the products
foods and services in which we rely; and more of our global wastewater is treated or reused in a circular
While we are making global progress, more work remains to be done. Today, 2.2 billion still live without safely managed drinking water, including 115 million people who drink surface water (WHO/UNICEF, 2023)
according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
roughly half of the world’s population is experiencing severe water scarcity for at least part of the year
And still too much wastewater is going back into our ecosystems untreated—polluting our freshwater resources
with missed opportunity for water and resource recovery
Witnessing what our customers are making possible
we believe these challenges can be solved in our lifetimes— and it is a purpose that drives us every day.
here are a few ways our team celebrated:
While we enjoy celebrating World Water Day with our team
we love celebrating water every single day
we will continue to innovate and collaborate to increase the resilience of our global water resources
Peace and prosperity—and so much more—depend on it.

Groenewegen a close second in one-day French race
Simone Consonni (Cofidis) secured his first victory of the 2022 season at Classique Paris-Chauny on Sunday
holding off a charge by Dylan Groenewegen (Team BikeExchange-Jayco)
Jason Tesson (St Michel-Auber 93) took third ahead of Hugo Hofstetter (Arkéa-Samsic) in a bike throw
while Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Soudal) was fifth and Marc Sarreau (AG2R Citroën) sixth
The 28-year-old Italian earned a large take of UCI points for Cofidis
It was his sixth one-day race of the month
his best finishes coming with seventh at Primus Classic and two events in the past week outside the top 10
It was the 100th anniversary of the French one-day race
this year 203.5km across the punchy hills of Hauts-de-France
with seven packed in a section of 40km between kilometres 65 and 117.
four leaders had a gap of 2:20 over the peloton - Ludovic Robeet (Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB)
Clement Carisey (Go Sport - Roubaix Lille Métropole)
Rune Herregodts (Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise) and Jorre Debaele (Minerva Cycling).
Debacle and Carisey faded from the breakaway on a section of double ascents spaced by just six kilometres - Côte de Beaugies-sous-Bois and Côte de Guivry - with just under 50km to race
The two climbs would be climbed a second time on a finishing circuit
While the pair rolled back toward the peloton
the chase began in earnest as the gap of the lead duo dropped under one minute
The third and final intermediate sprint came in Chauny
with the lead duo scooping up the top points
AG2R Citroën led the chase as the first lap of 33.5km progressed
the catch was evident but Herregodts refused to let up and he tried to charge up the penultimate KOM of the day
a second pass of the Côte de Beaugies-sous-Bois
His time at the front was then quickly absorbed by the peloton before the heavily-wooded KOM across the Guivry
High speeds strung out the peloton as Arkéa-Samic were the first to assemble five riders at the front for the rolling finish.
Cofidis controlled the lead position among the sprint teams to give Consonni a wide open road to victory

The Bonnet Gang checks in on the state of the Los Angeles Lakers and much more
The Bonnet Gang kicked off its latest episode of the Triple Threat Podcast, entitled #Russergence, with a look at the Lakers’ first win of the season in which Russell Westbrook had 18 points
eight rebounds and eight assists off the bench
Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said that Westbrook took the blame for everything last year and a lot of it wasn’t his fault
Chauny and Juanita don’t know why everyone expected Ham to rip Westbrook like everyone else does
He’s an NBA head coach not a Twitter troll and actually wants to see Westbrook succeed
Juanita talks about how the Lakers’ defense is actually good
it’s just their offense that is hurting them
She also begs them to trade for a small forward and to not rely too much on an aging LeBron
Chauny tells everyone to “leave Ben Simmons alone” because they’re just criticizing him because it’s popular to do so. The duo then talks about the Warriors’ early-season struggles, the 76ers’ tampering charges and the Spurs releasing Joshua Primo for allegedly exposing himself to a therapist
Moving into baseball, the gang shows no sympathy for the Dodgers and Yankees
Juanita doesn’t think the Dodgers are in a position to be blaming it on the postseason format
The episode wraps up with a discussion of new music and the recent Kanye West news
Chauny and Juanita don’t understand why everyone decided to be anti-Semitic all of a sudden and talk about all the athletes who cut ties with Donda Sports

LondonDaniel York Loh’s twin tale of the Chinese Labour Corps members who head to Europe during the first world war has emotional resonance but fails to come alive on stage
and fewer are remembered on memorials today
the tale of the CLC battalion is “the long-buried story of the first world war”
The Chinese title translates as “forgotten”
York Loh dramatises the story of a troupe of impoverished Chinese opera performers who leave the Shandong province with hopes for better lives abroad and the conviction that their performances will touch the hearts of westerners
The depiction of their journey to Europe and the grim realities when they get there is interspersed with Chinese opera
for which they adopt different personas and enact ancient stories
the transitions between the two forms of storytelling are jarring
and the actors appear wobbly and awkward in some of the choreographed movements
high-pitched notes of the opera but also in songs from the 20th century
View image in fullscreenZachary Hing
Michael Phong Le and Rebecca Boey in Forgotten
Photograph: Tristram Kenton/The GuardianYork Loh’s script mixes archaic language and Confucian-style wisdom (“Everyone has beauty but not everyone sees it”; “Our lives are like flower petals floating on a fast stream”) with smatterings of bawdy obscenities (“You pig’s cock”; “You dried-up
but again the styles bristle awkwardly next to each other
Big Dog (Camille Mallet de Chauny) is an opium addict; the professor (Leo Wan
who gives the strongest performance) is the literate one; Eunuch Lin (Zachary Hing) is puckish
But a deeper sense of character fails to emerge
the actors more often declaiming their lines than bringing nuance to the parts
Emma Bailey’s set in the second half – a round dug-out resembling a coal-pit that symbolises the frontline and the circular formation of classic Chinese opera – is inventive and atmospheric
and their grim treatment by the British army is effectively conveyed
a cold-blooded announcement by a British officer instructs suicidal Chinese recruits: “If you must hang yourselves
heartbreaking importance – the end reveals how these heroic men were painted out of history – but its emotional resonance

The Bonnet Gang goes after Malika Andrews haters and NFL doctors
which is just Chauny and Juanita this time around
talks about the Draymond Green/Jordan Poole fight
from which the episode got its name: “The Girls are FIGHTIIIINNNG.”
Then they get into some Lakers talk; for example why it's OK that LeBron and Kareem are not friends
Malika Andrews is the first topic the gang spends a lot of time on
They say it’s OK for her to get smart and say things like
“I didn’t know we had mind readers on this show” when arguing that it’s impossible to know the intent of a seemingly dirty play
Chauny is tired of people treating Kendrick Perkins and Richard Jefferson like they’re Gods and Juanita says just because Andrews disagreed with them doesn’t mean she’s out to get them; “disagreement is not disrespect.” The gang takes a look at the sexism at play
Juanita then ponders whether 7-foot-4 Victor Wembanyama is the best prospect ever
Juanita goes over which teams should try to be bad this year and says
be bad.” Robert Sarver is still on the gang’s mind as well and he is compared to Michael Scott from “The Office.” The gang says it’s just not acceptable in real life
The second topic that gets a lot of attention is the safety of NFL players
The gang can’t believe Tua Tagovailoa played as soon after his injury as he did and Chauny asks “where were his people?,” meaning his loved ones
the ones who should be advising him not to play
“Ya’ll gotta love yourself at least a little bit” and don’t they have wives and children to live for
Chauny and Juanita are somewhat uninterested in Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run because they know the MLB record is still Barry Bonds’ 73 in 2001
Juanita says “Barry Bonds at the plate was must-see TV” and “steroids don’t make you good at hitting a baseball.” Chauny says “Barry Bonds is the GOAT
Chanuy ponders whether A’ja just had the greatest single year ever for a women’s basketball player given her additional accomplishments at the World Cup
Seerat speaks with former Iowa women’s basketball head coach Lisa Bluder
and what it was like to coach her en route to the Final Four (53:51)
and why she believes the Valkyries selected her in the W expansion draft (1:14:10)
The Triple Threat Podcast talks more about Kyrie Irving and Joshua Primo
but how about showing some love to the teams actually getting it done on the court
Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers
The Triple Threat Podcast came out with a new episode last Thursday and the first thing to talk about was Kyrie Irving
Irving has been suspended by his team, the Brooklyn Nets, for posting a link to an anti-Semitic film on social media. The gang touched on the situation in their last episode and in this episode
they talk about the long list of things Irving needs to do to be reinstated
They note that the Nets must be exhausted from Kyrie’s controversies
Last year he missed much of the season because he refused to get vaccinated
Chauny points out that in most workplaces other than the NBA
what Kyrie did this time combined with his initial struggle to apologize properly would be fireable
The gang eventually moves into a discussion of the Joshua Primo situation. San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich made a statement on the matter and the gang doesn’t want Pop
who is 73 and has won five NBA championships
They don’t want it to be the last thing on his Wikipedia page after tales of how he coached David Robinson
Trail Blazers and Cavaliers for exceeding preseason expectations
Chauny shouts out “Spida,” aka Donovan Mitchell
The gang moves into baseball and congratulates the Houston Astros for recently winning the World Series. Chauny, a San Francisco Giants fan
says she misses Dusty Baker and is happy he finally won a title
and criticism of Elon Musk’s handling of Twitter
Juanita Anderson and Chauny Powell) discusses Brian Flores
Brian Flores, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2019 to 2021, has filed a lawsuit against the NFL claiming racial discrimination was involved in his firing from the Dolphins following this past season and his interviews in applying for the head coaching positions for the New York Giants and Denver Broncos
The Bonnet Gang opens their latest episode with this topic
saying that Flores’ action is “100,000 percent justified,” echoing what ESPN reporter Chris Mortensen tweeted about it being “as necessary an action that I can remember in covering 50 years of sports.”
The lawsuit filed by Brian Flores is as courageous and, in my opinion, as necessary an action that I can remember in covering 50 years of sports. https://t.co/t42mvexgfo
Juanita Anderson says she believes that for Flores it was a hard decision to make because he loves his profession and “may have just torpedoed (his) career.” And she applauds him because he did it to stand up against racial injustice
Chauny Powell asks where Black coaches were when Colin Kaepernick was being blackballed by the NFL for kneeling during the national anthem
The gang also discusses the upcoming Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals
as well as the retirement of longtime New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady
the group laments the fact that three weeks worth of news was crammed into a 30-minute ESPN free agency special
They address Liz Cambage’s complaint about players’ pay and delve into the Kaite Lou Samuelson/Gabby Williams trade
Emma Meesseman’s move to Chicago and the Diamond DeShields/Bria Hartley/Julie Allemand trade
After previously suggesting reasons why the Phoenix Suns might not be completely feared
the gang gives credit where credit is due in this episode
Trisity Miller says Chris Paul is “not supposed to be this good at this age” and even goes as far as saying that if Devin Booker keeps playing the way he’s been playing
After all the sports talk is done, the gang takes a look at the news about rapper Wale pulling out of the Broccoli City Music Festival in his hometown of Washington, D.C. over a perceived lack of respect. Wale has since changed his mind and will play
Barcelona have finally made the move for the Sochaux youngster
The 16-year old midfielder is among the biggest talents in France
After monitoring the progress of Lucien Agoumé for some time
he was called up to the first-team squad by head coach José Manuel Aira
who gave him his debut in the 2-1 victory over Troyes in Ligue 11
Agoumé has made 5 appearances in all competitions
capable of playing in all roles in midfield
the playmaker role and the attacking midfielder role
Agoumé also has international experience under his belt
making 7 appearances for France’s youth teams
Agoumé does not have a professional contract at Sochaux
He has received many offers to renew his deal
but has rejected all of them in favour of negotiations with Barça
with Barça paying a nominal development fee to the Ligue 1 club
and the club are very close to confirming the latest capture for Barcelona B
Agoumé could jump into action with Barça B
unlike the Juvenil A side consisting of La Masia players among other youth talents
Agoumé would join after the beginning of the summer transfer window. Other clubs, most notably Inter Milan, are also interested in the French starlet. But Barça are the clear frontrunners to secure his signature, and a deal is imminent

there is a dearth of young talent joining the B team from the academy
the club is now looking to poach young players from other clubs
Embed from Getty ImagesWith a mass exodus from La Masia and the club’s unwillingness to match other clubs’ offers
The 16-year midfielder has made 4 appearances for the French U-16 side
he plays for the U-19 side of Ligue 2 club Sochaux
Players like Sergi Gómez and Jordi Mboula have already left the club
while the club struggled to keep players like Riqui Puig and Monchu
But the signing of Lucien Agoume would add a new dimension to the B team’s midfield
Neither Riqui Puig nor Oriol Busquets is the strongest player
and Agoume could compete with Marcus McGuane and Monchu for a place in the starting lineup
His signing would also show the footballing world that Barcelona mean business
The club has been allowing other sides to lure youngsters away for far too long
and its time that it did something to return the favour

Eurosport report that Scottish side Celtic have this week made an opening bid to Rennes for their 18-year-old right-back Brandon Soppy
The bid is believed to be worth €1.5m + bonuses. Soppy is under contract with SRFC until June 2021. RB Leipzig are also interested in attaining his services this summer, whilst Rennes will try to convince him to stay and integrate into their 1st team, with current 1st choice right-back Hamari Traoré apparently set to depart.
