Petersen, who returned to reprise the role of Dr. Gil Grissom he played for 9 seasons on the original show on the first season of CSI: Vegas, is based in Chicago, Illinois, where he is a member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.
Helgenberg’s Catherine Willows didn’t just appear on the main CSI, but on two seasons of CSI: Vegas (Seasons 2 & 3), until 2024. She married stuntman Charlie Haugk in 2022.
Dourdan played troubled Warrick Brown, who tragically died in Season 9 of CSI. He was, therefore, one of the original cast members unable to reprise his role in CSI: Vegas. He’s still active in the acting world, most recently appearing in And Just Like That… and in the film Albany Road.
Eads appeared in all 15 seasons of CSI and then went on to start for three seasons on CBS’s MacGyver reboot. He has not done any acting after that, and isn’t really active on social media.
Paul Guilfoyle appeared in 14 seasons of CSI and the finale, and then appeared once again on CSI: Vegas. And Guilfoyle has kept acting, with roles in The Good Fight, Star Trek Discovery, The Morning Show, and Evil, among others.
Szamanda also appeared in both CSI and CSI: Vegas, but outside of that, and a role in the 2018 TV movie Near Extinction: Shangri-La. He’s pretty much retired from acting at this point.
Wellner wore many hats on CSI, starting with researcher and then actor, but his true love was always perhaps behind the scenes. He appeared in episodes of Gilmore Girls, Providence, NCIS, That’s So Raven, and Bones. In 2009, Wellner and fellow CSI cast member David Berman cofounded Entertainment Research Consultants, a research firm that works with forensics shows.
After CSI, Shue went on to appear on The Boys, Cobra Kai, Gen V, On the Verge and has an upcoming movie called Constance.
Danson has not taken a break since his time on CSI. He appeared on CSI: Cyber, The Good Place, Mr. Mayor, The Orville, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and A Man on The Inside, which has been renewed for a second season.
Since CSI Fishburne has been in two John Wick movies, two Superman movies, a Marvel movie, a Transformers movie and he’s got six upcoming projects right now. So it’s safe to say he’s booked and busy.
After CSI Harnois went on to appear in mostly TV movies like The Christmas Contract, The Christmas Cupid, and Christmas in Vienna. She has one upcoming project, called Cruel Love.
Berman started out in a recurring role, graduating to a lead role all the way back in Season 10. But he didn’t only appear in CSI, having roles on Heroes, Drop Dead Diva, Desperate Housewives and The Blacklist. Perhaps most importantly, however, Berman and his CSI costar Jon Wellner founded Entertainment Research Consultants, a research firm that works with crime and forensics tv shows.
After CSI, Langham returned for CSI: Vegas and has appeared on episodes of Mom, The Rookie: Feds, 1923, and Perry Mason. He’s still acting, and has upcoming projects.
Hall is pretty much retired from acting, though he has done sporadic TV projects since CSI, like the TV movie CSI: Immortality, and appeared on an episode of the TV series Game Shakers.
Fox reprised her CSI role in CSI: Vegas, but she hasn’t done anything since her role in that ended, and she didn’t really do much since one role and the other outside of a few movies here and there. So, though she’s not exactly retired, let’s consider her career on pause.

Barbarella here excited to share with you my conversation with REDEMPTION DAY’S Gary Dourdan. The actor best known for portraying Warrick Brown on the hit series CSI slides into a different kind of role. In the film
must embark on a rescue mission to the part of the world where his trauma occurred
Below is the bulk of the exchange the actor and I had
I'm going to start with kind of a hardball question
“Okay. That’s fine.”
but there was quite a strong reaction from Algerians to the REDEMPTION DAY trailer that was posted online
Many expressed concern that the film put Algerians in a bad light
and it didn't show the Algerian people as the warm and welcoming people that they are
What would you like to say to people who watched the trailer and believe that this film promotes negative stereotypes of Islamic nations
“That’s the first thing that I thought of when I thought about doing it since one thing I hate is to perpetuate the misinformation that is put out by American filmmakers about people abroad
because I've been to Muslim countries. These are some of the most gentle people – filled with honor
and dignity – that I've ever met in my entire life. I live in Paris; my whole crew is Algerian
so I understand the place because we speak about it often
That was one of the things that concerned me
what happens is that you have a film that's a thriller
and it’s not based on a realistic situation or real-life story
just do the best job that I can do to portray this armed serviceman who goes in there
“The thing that I wanted to weave within the film
is that although he's an armed serviceman for America
he goes in with a certain respect for everywhere that he is
He learns the local customs. He learns the local language so that he respects the people that he's with
I do know a lot of people in the armed services
one in particular that I crafted my part on
That’s something that they deal with every day
but they're in places that are just full of lovely
And so that's something that I'd like to continue to speak about
I'm glad you asked me that question because it is a concern of mine
as I do travel extensively and often to a lot of these countries
I don't want to continue to perpetuate [the view of] these people in these different lands as negative. That’s a concern of the director as well
because the director and writer of the film is Moroccan. When you watch the film
then you understand that the actual terrorist organization isn't even coming from the Algerian land.”
and what did you learn about it that may have surprised you
I've gotten to know and befriend people in the service
and some of the things that we speak about are their missions abroad in Iraq and Afghanistan and some of the things that they carry home to their families and how they deal with it
There was also a therapist that I was working with some years ago who had offered his services as a 1-800 number to any person in America
they could find a therapist near them that could help them through their difficult transitions getting back into civilian life
“And I was happy to be able to craft this character with that kind of depth and those dimensions
because so often we see action films and action heroes just go through many different fight series
There's a lot of human qualities and frailties with the character that I wanted to bring forth and humanize him in a lot of ways
and he has a history. He’s struggling to deal with it and to maintain his composure throughout it
it's really personal – very important for me to put some human elements in it and not just make it an action thriller film.”
Would you talk a little bit about your experience shooting in Morocco?
Morocco is like the fifth character in the film
I was there for New Year’s last year
I just got back from Morocco a month and a half ago filming another project
It is one of the most beautiful places on earth
You can drive from the mountains where it's snowing down to the beach and surf
It's very similar to California in that way
and they have a long history of walking through the streets of Marrakesh since 6,000 years BC
“And you're just touched when you get there
You'll find people making crafts and building things and doing artistic work that is extraordinary
I definitely recommend it to anyone that's looking to travel to a place because it's so much history there
I was able to go even a bit deeper and learn how to speak some Arabic
And this film was a Moroccan production with a Moroccan director [Hicham Hajji]
I was just going to ask about working with him
“It was his first major blockbuster production release
Tony Scott’s filmed several films there
but they're always American or English directors
This was the first American-style action film filmed by a Moroccan director
very proud to continue to perpetuate production in Morocco
I just finished a film by a Jewish Moroccan named Zhor Fassi-Fihri that was done about two months ago
I’ll have to add it to my list of travel destinations
“I love it there. You have to go to Marrakesh. Go to Chefchaouen
There are so many beautiful cities.”
How do you feel when you're watching your work
“I hate watching myself on film and TV
I got to sit through one of the first screenings that we had for just cast and crew
and I was able to go in and give my notes because I am a filmmaker
The notes that I gave were less on me and more on the film itself
so I wanted the director to go back and get some of that footage because he's from Morocco
and sometimes I think when you're living in a place
I wanted people to fall in love with Morocco the way I have
I want them to see the vistas and the lands and the people
“And so he went back and he got a lot more footage and put that into the film
and now it really looks like something competitive with some of those directors I mentioned before
I'm looking forward to seeing people's reaction because I like the way it looks
I probably sleep with the guitar sometimes
so it's important to have one around in close proximity.”
I have a huge list of people that I like to play
There are so many different songs that I like
If you could snap your fingers and change one thing about the film industry
I think that's going to take more than [the time we have left to answer that]. It goes back to the first question you asked me about us perpetuating negative imagery. I’m having a hard problem with the slave narratives of films because there's such a vast history of storytelling throughout the African-American or the African community
We have so many stories that I think slavery is not our history; slavery just interrupted history
There’s such a vast history from many different lands
One thing I really want to get back to in this vast medium that is filmmaking is just telling great and genuine stories
I would get on Hollywood's back to stop rehashing these old stupid-ass films that we've seen. I'd start to get into all of this wealth
this encyclopedia of fantastic stories we have
“And I think that's going to bring us closer together as a race
When we start to get into really telling stories about our cultures
it’s not really about White Power and Black Power
It's about [understanding] us as a cultural people
and really appreciating each other and seeing the differences that we have and our cultural uniqueness
Then we’ll start to see that that Irish story is very similar to that Nigerian story
We'll start to notice that we’re more alike than [not]. That's what it's about
That's what's going to pull us closer together as a people.”
I would've loved to have spent more time speaking with Gary Dourdan
I feel as though he not only touched on some profound topics
but he also convinced me that I need to visit Morocco at some point in the future
he also convinced you to see REDEMPTION DAY
and then launches January 12 on Digital and On Demand

Series of "before and after" photographs showing the devastating toll that prolonged meth use takes on the human body have long been used in anti-drug articles and other material
a similar "before and after heavy drug use" image purportedly showing actor Gary Dourdan (best known for portraying Warrick Brown on the television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) has been widely shared via social media:
while the man pictured on the left-hand side of the above-displayed image is indeed actor Gary Dourdan
This "before and after" image has been circulating since at least 2007, when a man bearing a striking resemblance to Dourdan was arrested in Louisiana. When celebrity gossip site TMZ published Demitris Hirsch's mugshot alongside a picture of Gary Dourdan
they clearly stated that the man on the right was not Dourdan

alleging constructive fraud and seeking an injunction against the foreclosure of his Los Angeles home after claiming bank representatives were slow in offering mortgage help
Read the full complaint
his payment on a $900,000-plus residence jumped from $5,000 to $10,000 per month
resulting in Dourdan being unable to keep up with the payments and becoming another 99 percenter victimized by the Great Recession
which hit the housing market particularly hard
Per the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court
the 45-year-old actor claims he suffered economic hardship that "caused him to be laid off in January 2010" and his requests for mortgage assistance from Union were initially ignored despite California regulations requiring lenders to offer loan modifications
Dourdan's complaint notes the bank dragged its feet for six months before finally offering him a relief package on his $922,000 mortgage
the thesp asserts the bank "manipulated and caused [him] to fall further behind" in his payments and failed to then honor the forbearance agreement
especially through "negligent obfuscation" when it sent confusing mortgage statements out saying "Do not remit any payments."
the whole thing was a "predetermined scheme" aimed at "extracting as much money as they felt they could from them," which turned out to be about $60,000
Dourdan wants a court order to prevent the foreclosure sale of his property and is demanding compensatory and punitive damages as well as attorney's fees and costs

I believe it was Mark Twain who once said: "Cast shake-ups are like Transformers — there is usually more to them than meets the eye." And I was reminded of how true those words were this week following my back-to-back exclusives that CSI and Law & Order: SVU would be losing Gary Dourdan and Diane Neal
I reported that the actors were leaving for the most mundane of reasons: Both of their contracts were up
But in the hours that followed the posting of those stories
new information came to light that now calls into question my original sources the exact circumstances surrounding the exits — specifically
whether the stars were leaving of their own accord or if they had been shown the door
an insider at the show insists that he and CSI execs "mutually agreed" to part ways for "creative reasons." However
a CBS mole claims the 41-year-old actor was essentially fired

Václav Vondřich won the unofficial world championship of the FICM
the forerunner of today’s FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme)
on a motorcycle built by Laurin & Klement
It was one of the greatest racing milestones in the history of the brand
which was founded in 1895 and later became ŠKODA AUTO
the era of automobile production began in Mladá Boleslav
Václav Laurin and Václav Klement’s discovered motorsport as a promising stage on which to showcase their up-and-coming company internationally
the motorcycle racer Narcis Podsedníček – whose main job was running the L&K workshop as an experienced mechanic – was the fastest rider to cover the 1,196 kilometres of the race from Paris to Berlin in June that year
reached the finish line before the official timekeeper had arrived
and instead of receiving the winner’s trophy
Laurin & Klement’s motorcycles soon ranked among the favourites in hill climbs and circuit races
and achieved numerous successes at home and abroad
they shone with their exceptional reliability
all but one of the bikes crossed the finish line out of 87 starts in 34 races and achieved a total of 32 victories
the highlight of this impressive series was the unofficial world championship of the FICM (Fédération Internationale des Clubs Motocyclistes)
50 kilometres south-west of Paris in the small town of Dourdan
For the peak of the motorcycle racing season at the time
the organisers had mapped a 54-kilometre circuit which had to be completed five times
It also included three so-called neutralisation sections: In these stretches
the drivers had to push their machines with the engine turned off – and hope that they would start up again afterwards
the strongest national teams of their time competed in this international competition
In the hopes of representing Austria-Hungary
two riders with motorcycles from Laurin & Klement
had entered themselves into a qualifying race in Pacov
Eduard Nikodém on a Puch came third in the group
Matchless and JAP competed for Great Britain; the French two-wheelers came from Griffon and Peugeot
while Germany sent three Progress motorcycles to France
The strict regulations stipulated that in addition to all the essential components
the tyres also had to come from the respective country of origin
Tyres only lasted for short distances at that time
and the riders themselves were responsible for repairing them
The Laurin & Klement team arrived well prepared: in trials the year before
they had covered the challenging track with nails
And so Vondřich started the race with a heavy leather bag strapped to his back
It contained all the necessary tools and spare parts but also earned the Czech the nickname “The Travelling Blacksmith” from the spectators
Despite the additional weight and higher centre of gravity
Vondřich with his two-cylinder L&K CCR quickly caught up with the previous year’s winner
he was more than eight minutes ahead after 3:13.17 hours
before the Frenchman was eliminated from the classification due to an illegal rear wheel change
František Toman moved up one place to make a perfect double victory for Laurin & Klement
only three out of the original twelve participants managed the full distance
This remarkable success even inspired the famous conductor František Kmoch from Kolín to compose the 2/4-beat round dance “Na motoru” (“On the engine”)
the brand further strengthened its international reputation
and motorcycle production continued for several years
a new era of automotive engineering was dawning at the Mladá Boleslav company
It all began on 29 October 1905 with the Laurin & Klement Voiturette A
the culmination of four years of research and development by Václav Laurin and his team of designers
Václav Vondřich took over the management of the L&K branch in Prague in 1906
he had to hang up his helmet before the First World War
He remained head of the ŠKODA dealership until the early 1940s

the gods of air travel were on Dourdan's side

which caused Los Angeles Judge Stephanie Sautner to recall his bench warrant
