Among them is the Yozora restaurant in Metz, opened in 2024 by chef Charles Coulombeau, who also won a star in 2022 with his restaurant La Maison dans le Parc in Nancy.
The other newly-starred restaurant is the Burnel hotel-restaurant and its chef Maye Cissoko, in Rouvres-en-Xaintois, Vosges.
At the end of last month, Metz hosted the Michelin Guide's grand finale. More than 1,300 chefs gathered for a series of events, including a grand ceremony to award the greatest chefs with their stars. A total of 78 new stars were awarded, and 57 restaurants gained a star for the first time. Luxembourg featured prominently in the programme, through produce on offer at the Gourmet Village and at the Chefs' Dinner.
The Toya restaurant in Faulquemont, near Metz, already had one star and during the ceremony it was also awarded a green star - an award given to those who consistently follow high sustainability standards.
"It's an excellent collective satisfaction, which I dedicate to my teams who have worked hard to get to this point with seriousness, rigour and regularity. It's great to be able to replicate Nancy's achievement in just eight months. When I arrived, I promised the mayor of Metz that I would link Nancy and Metz so that both towns would have a Michelin-starred restaurant.”
All nine restaurants in the Lorraine region which already had a Michelin star in 2024 managed to hold on to them for another year. Here is the full list:
La Maison dans le Parc, Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle)
Château d'Adoménil, Lunéville (Meurthe-et-Moselle)
Le K (Domaine de la Klauss), Montenach (Moselle)
Auberge Saint-Walfrid, Sarreguemines (Moselle)
Lorraine now has 11 starred restaurants, including seven in Moselle. Across France, nine restaurants were awarded a second star, two a third star and 10 a green star. The full list of winners is available on the Michelin Guide website
