jazz-tinged sound has over the years seen her gracing the stages of Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival
as well as performing alongside the likes of Ed Sheeran and George Benson
Louise has recently launched her own podcast
which sees her interviewing some of the UK’s most successful songwriters to discuss their work
Louise's first podcast guest was Ivor Novello and Brit award winning artist
We caught up with her to find out more about the podcast and how she's coping in the current climate
I have been told I have the best lockdown view in London
Can you start by telling us a bit about the podcast and why you decided to start it
The podcast sees me interviewing UK songwriters
and getting the meaning behind certain lyrics
Myself and Bernard Achampong from Unedited (the podcast production company) first discussed the idea last summer and started putting the wheels in motion
We wrote down a list of people we already had in mind and/or already had a relationship with to interview
We both know Michelle and put the idea to her
Michelle Escoffery was the guest on your first episode
Can you tell M readers who are yet to tune in if Michelle gave away any of her key songwriting tips
not only does she have a wealth of experience
but she also teaches on the Songwriting Masters course at Tileyard Education
She gave lots of useful tips and insights into her songwriting
One of the most interesting things I found out was that she said that when she is brought in by a label to write for an artist
Michelle really tries to get to know the artist first
if they are going through anything they want to express
That means any lyrics that come out of the session will mean something and feel more real
Have your discussions so far given you any particularly unique insights into well-known songs
one thing from Michelle's interview is that I didn't know that Liberty X’s track Just A Little (which Michelle won an Ivor Novello and was in PRS for Music’s top 100 songs of the century list for) was originally written for Tom Jones
So the lyrics had a completely different origin
We’ve been lucky in getting some really successful songwriters
That was just a pipe dream when we first talked about it
I can't give too much away but we have great guests lined-up for interviews
songwriters who write for different purposes
songwriters who cover different genres and so on
People who are open to talking about their processes
letting us in on some trade secrets behind certain songs and giving listeners tips for songwriting
Some of our guests are songwriters whose name people might not know
Others are artists who are also songwriters and mainly write for their own artist projects
Have you found any unexpected sources of inspiration whilst in lockdown
I have actually been surprised how creative and busy I’ve been
I’m lucky in that I already have a recording set up at home
so I have been able to do lots of writing and recording here
I’ve been recording a few live videos for social media and done a few remote collaborations which has been fun
The podcast has of course been keeping me busy
researching and prepping for interviews and promoting the first episode
I think just being motivated to keep creative has been inspiring me
I did also write a song about isolation for a DJ in the USA
What are your golden rules when it comes to staying creative at home
Fitness is a big part of my schedule and also often my excuse to get some fresh air
Being creative and productive is important to me but it’s important to learn to not feel guilty if you have a non-productive day
I read a really interesting article the other day that said there’s a lot on social media at the moment that’s putting pressure on us to be productive during this time
make the most of your 'free' time and so on
The world is a strange place right now and we all need to deal with it in the way that’s best for us
What are your future plans for the podcast
we very are lucky that with technology we are able to continue the podcast interviews during lockdown using video calls
although we did Michelle's interview in person back in October
It’s a good time to be promoting a product like a podcast because people have more time on their hands
We'll then work out when the next series comes out
Is there anything else you're working on at the moment that are readers should keep an ear/eye out for
I am working on my 'difficult' second album at the moment
Lockdown has unfortunately slowed down the process as I am unable to get into the studios with the producers
We are doing some virtual sessions but it's not quite the same
I can work on the artwork and track listing in the meantime though
the first single from the album will be out soon so will be promoting that
We’re planning on doing a music video for that
my budget for the album has swiftly gone down so trying to come up with a plan to still release it in Autumn anyway
I am just pushing my back catalogue and videos out as much as possible

For the Golbey PM1 Project, deugro Germany
successfully delivered two drum sections from China to France for the pulp and paper industry
deugro’s scope encompassed the transportation from the Port of Shanghai
the inland waterway transport to the river Port of Frouard
as well as the subsequent on-carriage by various trailer configurations to the job site in Golbey
deugro’s teams were engaged by their client Voith Paper more than 2.5 years prior to the transport taking place to investigate the overall feasibility and determine the maximum cargo size able to be transported
Detailed planning and preparations were required to ensure the safe transport of the drums with dimensions of up to 32 x 5.6 x 5.7 meters and weights of up to 195 metric tons—especiallyon the complex on-carriage route from the closest river port to the plant
including turning simulations and swept path analyses
were conducted by dteq Transport Engineering Solutions along with local
In line with the tight schedule and under the personal supervision of deugro Shanghai
the drums were loaded at the Port of Shanghai—on dship’s MV Annie—and shipped on a last-in/first-out basis to the Port of Antwerp
allowing the teams of deugro Antwerp to assemble and mount the cable guiding system onto the drums before loading the cargoonto the river vessel
After arrival and discharge at the river Port of Frouard
the drum sections were delivered by road to the job site in Golbey under coordination by deugro Paris
“The most challenging part of the journey was the manoeuvring through the many traffic circles and tight turns
as well as traversing the Town of Lunéville
To allow for safe navigation through the extremely sharp turns in Lunéville
we arranged the transfer from conventional THP trailers to self-propelled modular trailers using a jacking/stooling operation
After crossing the most critical turns inthe city
the cargo was transferred back onto the THP trailers for the remaining on-carriage,” said Ambra Gotsch
“Another operational challenge was the passing of a railway bridge near the Village of Méhoncourt
Six additional axle lines had to be mounted to the modular trailer to stay within the allowable bridge capacity determined by the road authorities
then dismantled after passing the bridge,” added Ulf Langner

Veolia and Pearl Infrastructure Capital have jointly launched an industrial ecology project at the Norske Skog Golbey paper mill site
Eiffage Construction will carry out the project by building a biomass power plant that will contribute to the decarbonisation of the industrial activity and reduce Norske Skog's dependence on natural gas
it will produce 200 GWh of clean electricity per year
equivalent to the consumption of more than 13,000 homes
Norske Skog reported an EBITDA of NOK 612 million ($59 million) in the Q1 2025 up from NOK 33 million ($3.2 million) in the previous quarter
mainly due to the final insurance settlement of NOK 560 million ($54 million) at Norske Skog Saugbrugs
Norske Skog continued to increase the market share for both publication paper and packaging paper in the quarter
despite continued pressure on utilisation rates and profitability in the industry
“Containerboard production at Norske Skog Golbey will start in about one week
marking the completion of a significant investment project for the group
This Euro 320 million investment will be a major milestone in the group’s transformation from a pure publication paper producer to also become a packaging paper supplier
With this large and modern production line
we will increase our total delivery capacity by more than 35% and vastly enhance our ability to serve the growing demand for containerboard,” says Geir Drangsland
Norske Skog had total operating income of NOK 3 101 million up from NOK 2 666 million in the previous quarter
Operating earnings of NOK 489 million ($47.2 million) up from NOK -353 million ($34 million) in the previous quarter
and profit/loss before income taxes of NOK 442 million ($42.6 million) up from NOK -470 million ($45.3 million) in the previous quarter
Norske Skog Saugbrugs reached a final insurance settlement following the rockslide in April 2023
The settlement resulted in a payment of NOK 540 million ($52 million) and EBITDA recognition of NOK 560 million ($54 million) in the quarter
which is also the main reason for the increase in operating income and operating earnings
Uncertainty and profitability pressure in both the market for publication paper and packaging paper are due to raw material price volatility
and constantly changing operating conditions
This situation is expected to persist going forward
Norske Skog maintains significant emphasis on reducing the production costs and working capital to maintain the competitive position in this environment
Norske Skog continues to increase the production of recycled containerboard at Norske Skog Bruck (PM3) and expects full utilisation during the second half of 2025
Production of recycled containerboard at Norske Skog Golbey (PM1) is expected to reach full utilisation during the first half of 2027
The remaining gross investment at Norske Skog Golbey is expected to be Euro 35-40 million
and the mill is expected to receive additional Euro 50 million in investment grants and energy certificates during 2026 and 2027
Norske Skog is a leading producer of publication paper with strong market positions and customer relations in Europe
Norske Skog announced that the start-up of the rebuilt PM 1 at its Golbey mill in France will we delayed and has been again postponed from Q2 2024 to the second half of next year due to delivery delays
the net investment amount for the conversion project will increase from €265m to €300m
primarily due to increased purchase prices for goods and services as well as somewhat delayed deliveries of equipment
the company had postponed the start-up to Q2 2024 in order to align it with the commissioning of the new biomass boiler
start-up of the rebuilt paper machine was scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year
The Golbey project is to convert PM 1 from newsprint to recycled containerboard production
The rebuilt paper machine will have an output capacity of 550,000 tpy
and Norske Skog expects the machine to run at 95 per cent of full capacity within two to three years after start-up
PM 1 formerly produced up to 250,000 tpy of newsprint and was stopped in the fourth quarter of 2022 to commence the rebuild
Norske Skog explains that the conversion of the paper machine at its Golbey mill has a massive scope and is being carried out during a period of high inflation and challenging global supply chains
Deliveries have been delayed and entailed associated consequences which necessitated a revision of the project schedule
The company finalised a first conversion project at its Bruck mill in Austria
where PM 3 was rebuilt for containerboard and restarted production in the second quarter of this year
It has an annual output capacity of 210,000 tpy of recycled fluting and testliner
IP has announced plans to permanently close the Orange mill and two fibre lines at the Pensacola and Riegelwood pulp mills in the US
The "strategic actions" will result in more than 850 jobs being axed at the three sites
International Paper (IP) has announced a series of strategic actions aimed at strengthening and optimising the group's manufacturing system by reducing its production capacity for containerboard and pulp
the company will permanently close its Orange
The mill has a production capacity of 800,000 sh.t and employs about 565 people
IP plans to permanently shut-down fibre lines no.20 at the Riegelwood
The closures are expected to reduce fluff pulp capacity of IP's Global Cellulose Fibers division by approximately 500,000 tpy and cut its workforce by 300 employees
IP expects the Orange containerboard mill and the fibre line no
20 in Riegelwood to cease production by the end of the year
Fibre line no.4 at Pensacola was already down and would not resume production
the IP will continue to operate 17 containerboard mills in North America with a total capacity of 13 million sh.t
IP's remamining pulp system will include eight mills with an annual production capacity of 2.7 million t
Norske Skog will sell its last publication paper mill in the Australasian region to Boyer Capital Pty Ltd
The purchase price is based on an enterprise value of NOK190m
The transaction is scheduled to be completed during the first quarter of this year
The mill is Norske Skog's last remaining production site for publication paper in the Australasian region after it closed down its Tasman paper mill in 2021 and sold it to Oji Fibre two years later
The Norske Skog Boyer mill is situated in Tasmania and is geared for a production of 150,000 tpy of newsprint and 135,000 tpy of LWC magazine paper
Norske Skog reports that the mill has contributed an average of approximately NOK60m in Ebitda to Norske Skog in the period from 2022 to 2024
Norske Skog will have four mills in Europe (Skogn and Saugbrugs in Norway
They have a total combined output capacity of 760,000 tpy of containerboard
200,000 tpy of SC magazine paper and 265,000 tpy of LWC magazine paper
Norske Skog said that the mill would continue its operations under the new ownership
The new owner Boyer Capital says that it sees significant potential to expand and diversify the industrial activities at the Boyer mill
"offering significant opportunities for future developments
and good acces to raw materials and logistics infrastructure."
The transaction is a sale of 100 per cent of the share capital in Norske Skog Industries Australia Limited
the holding company for of Norske Skog's Australasian activities
Norske Skog said it would discontinue the reporting segment publication paper Australasia in its results for the fourth quarter of 2024
No gain or loss is expected to be recognised in the company's first quarter results as a result of the transaction
Norske Skog says the transaction strengthens its balance sheet and liquidity positions towards ongoing strategic projects
It will now focus fully on the successful ramp-up of containerboard production at its Golbey mill in France and completing the BCTMP study at the Saugbrugs mill
The ramp-up of the containerboard machine at the Golbey mill is expected to start in the first quarter of this year
Norske Skog is carrying out a study on the possible production of BCTMP at the site
A final decision on the project is expected to be made in the first half of this year
Final settlement on Saugbrugs mill insurance payments
Norske Skog Saugbrugs and its insurance company agreed on a final settlement of all remaining insurance claims related to the rockslide at the Saugbrugs site on 27 April 2023
The settlement amount of NOK540m will be jointly covered by the insurance company
the Norwegian Natural Perils Pool and the reinsurers
"We are pleased to have reached a final settlement with our insurance company regarding the remaining property damage claims at Saugbrugs
The dialogue with the insurance company has since the incident been very open
This settlement provides time and flexibility to invest and develop Saugbrugs for the future”
The settlement amount represents a discount to prior estimates of remaining insurance compensation related to the property damage but enables Saugbrugs to freely determine the time at which compensation is utilised in its business activities as well as the nature of such activities
Payment of the full settlement amount is expected during the first quarter of 2025 and will thus be recognised in Ebitda in the first quarter of 2025

An owner-breeder couple who recently celebrated their first winner after 25 years of trying now say they are on the point of quitting the sport after a dispute with staff at Windsor racecourse on Monday
Geoffrey and Lesley-Anne Golbey travelled from their Cotswolds home to watch their Della Mare race
but were dismayed to find there was no shaded area in their Covid-zoned car park
which they insisted was essential for the welfare of their ageing rescue dog
"We were so looking forward to it," Geoffrey Golbey said
"There was loads of space there but all they said to my wife was
darling.' No-one was prepared to help us
It was all very disappointing and we just wondered what we're doing in this industry
"An umbrella would have done," added Lesley-Anne Golbey
We weren't asking for any specific thing
It would have been like leaving a dog in an oven."
Car park staff communicated with officials inside the track but no solution was found in the half-hour before Della Mare's race
Rather than leave their 11-year-old lurcher in their car while they were inside the track
the Golbeys decided to turn around and go home
said: "We have been in touch with Mr and Mrs Golbey to explain the situation with regards car parking for owners
which we have positioned for ease of access to the areas of the racecourse allocated for their use
but due to the strict protocols in place we can only allow participants in the Green Zone access to the area which does have a shaded area of parking
"Had Mr and Mrs Golbey been in touch with us in advance we would have happily looked to make alternative arrangements for them and their dog while they watched their horse run
we have apologised to them that staff on duty in the car park were unable to clearly communicate the situation with regards the parking arrangements
We have already taken steps to rectify this and will make sure that they are able to do so ahead of future meetings."
emailing the Racing Post to say: "Having spent around £3 million in the industry over the last 25 years being owner-breeders and the backbone of this industry
if our contribution is so little valued as to be denied the opportunity of seeing our horse run
we know now that this industry is not for us."

While many meal-kit delivery services peddle convenience
Buchan notes that Fuud places a large focus on local ingredients
local producers and local delivery — something he believes will stand out in the “land grab” for “quick and convenient” meal kits
“We are pretty local so we work very hard to showcase local chefs and local farmers and that’s kind of the reason we put two Us in Fuud — there’s always two of you at the dinner table: you and a farmer,” said Buchan
“We use a local pasta-maker for 90 per cent of our pastas
so we try to be as transparent as possible with our food sourcing.”
He also notes that keeping food sources local means lower delivery charges and less packaging
something he believes is “killing the competition.”
“The delivery charges and the packaging are very
very hard to swallow and that’s why none of these competitors are turning a profit yet,” he said
recycles packing materials and uses containers made from 100-per-cent compostable material — produced by a local company
So how does the local model work when you’re put in a national spotlight such as on Dragons’ Den
“We think that the local model has to be replicated nationally,” said Buchan
He reveals the company is currently in talks with a national grocery chain that supplies locally and that if the deal works out
Fuud will be able to “focus on telling a great story about doing great dinners.”
“The reason we’re in business is because as a team
we want to go places where we’ve never gone before and we want to take customers with us and Dragons’ Den is just part of that journey.”

THE Academy hockey tradition remains as strong as ever with yet another team progressing to the Ulster Schools’ Bannister Bowl final
The squad coached under former pupil and now Master-in-Charge
have had a sensational season with 17 wins to their credit and bulldozing the opponents away with skill and speed
THE Academy hockey tradition remains as strong as ever with yet another team progressing to the Ulster Schools’ Bannister Bowl final
The team has a wonderful blend of strength and depth and will be buoyant to face up to Campbell College in the final to be staged at Playball
The side made the difficult trip to the blue turf when they played Wallace High School in the semi-final
Cash and Briggs carefully marshalling the defence to allow Stevenson the freedom to carry and use intelligent passes from the word go
Some neat slick hockey steered Brownlee and Walker in the direction of goal and but for some quality defending
the Academy could well have been home by half-time
Spencer and Brownlee piercing holes in the Wallace circle
before a reaction turnover left Reid sitting pretty to open the account from close in
The Wallace forwards showed some fine skill and Daniel Murray caused a sweat when well-placed only to mis-trap and see his effort slip away
The continued pounding from the high press eventually paid off with the Academy forcing another penalty corner in the 37th minute and Stevenson made no mistake as the Portadown youngster dragged home his trademark bullet
giving the Lisburn ‘keeper no chance and putting the game beyond Wallace
allowed fresh impetus and with time edging away
it was Brownlee who continued to terrorise the Lisburn defence
There was still life in the game though and some superb tackling from Briggs and Baxter thwarted several pacey attacks before Spencer and Walker linked well to put Brownlee in and his resulting shot forced another penalty corner
The routine was another productive effort and the rebound found Adam McKee in form and he swung home first time to give the Academy a well-deserved 3-0 win and more importantly stamp their name in the final
The squad would like to thank all the parents and indeed grandparents who travelled to support them as well as Mr Clarke who gave his voice and time freely at the game
The depth of the squad was evident with Callum Clements in particular standing out with his new set of skills - deputising for the injured Denver Golbey in goals - two young men with real potential to earn an Ulster shirt in the not-too-distant future

Hollie Doyle's emphatic five-timer on Wednesday night was not the only notable feat at Kempton
providing owner-breeders Dr Lesley-Anne and Geoffrey Golbey with their first ever winner - a very long-awaited one at that

Della Mare's neck success in a six-furlong classified stakes was the couple's deserved maiden win after several frustrating near-misses
Geoffrey Golbey said: "My wife's evented and we thought we'd just buy a broodmare and breed a horse to win a race
"We've bred horses who have finished second and one of them we bred from
her daughter was placed and then her daughter's daughter was also placed
We've waited all this time and didn't give up."
He continued: "Della Mare is the great granddaughter of our original broodmare Fine Fettle acquired in 1996
and we have bred and raced the entire dam line
"It's really all about the achievement of breeding and winning with a horse you bred
Anyone can buy a horse - and they do - but with breeding
you've created it and made all the decisions
It's doing it all yourself and the satisfaction that you brought that horse into this world
"You choose the stallion and try your best
There's a lot that goes wrong along the way - the full-brother to Della Mare died on the gallops
which was sad as he had huge potential - so it's wonderful to have ups too."

She's still got potential to improve."
The Golbeys also try to find their horses a second career post-racing
