He advised Greybull in 2016 when it took over British Steel and a steel plant in Hayange which was considered a French strategic asset because it produced rails for France’s train system Junck then spent about a year beginning in 2020 as chief of European operations for Liberty Steel, which bought factories in Dudelange and four other countries from ArcelorMittal the previous year. French labour unions and others expressed their relief on Monday after the Commercial Court of Strasbourg validated Greybull’s takeover of Ascometal, AFP reported. “I welcome the deliberations made in favor of the Greybull solution for which we have worked hard,” outgoing Industry Minister Roland Lescure said in a statement. French officials offered Greybull a €45 million loan this year and further public support of €40 million in a form to be determined later to take over the operations, the Economy Ministry said.
