My wife and I were both born in Trinidad and Tobago (we met in high school)
A former teammate of mine (Jerry Moe) was running an intramural program in Westchester and asked me if I would be interested
I had no experience in coaching but was willing to try
After my first session I realized I loved teaching and had to be creative in my methods as the level of the players was not what I expected
Key influences in my soccer journey would be Jean Lillywhite
he was my first coach and his focus on proper technique has led to my emphasis on technique must be right always
Alvin Corneal was another major influence as I came to America with his team where we played in several tournaments
His teaching on tactics helped me to understand the game from a different perspective and made me appreciate the beauty of the different types of systems and how to play them
Jamaal Shabazz was a teammate with me on the team that toured the US
as well as played on the same high school team
He started coaching our club team at a very young age and helped me to understand that talent alone does not get you playing time
You needed to outwork everyone who played your position and performed consistently to maintain your position on the team
The greatest challenge from coaching my first team to now is preparing a team to play with the possibility that every week players may be missing due to conflicts with other sports
This was a culture shock as to how many different activities players actually participate in
In Trinidad we played soccer all year and cricket in the cricket season
The accomplishments that are dearest to me is to see some of the players that I trained years ago are police officers
Red Bulls gave me the peace of mind to do something I truly enjoy and get paid for it
It helps me drop my stress level after a mentally exhausting day
I wish that this could be a full-time career
The hope that I can make a positive impact in someone's life.”

In 1988 LeBlanc appeared in his first television show, TV 101, a high-school drama that he later described as similar to Beverly Hills
LeBlanc landed guest roles on such shows as Just the Ten of Us and Married…with Children
later appeared in the spinoff series Top of the Heap (1991)
which was reworked as Vinnie & Bobby (1992)
transforming the largely unknown cast into international stars
LeBlanc and his costars earned $1 million per episode
The show’s 2004 finale drew an audience of more than 52 million viewers
In 2021 the Friends cast reunited for a TV special in which they discussed the show
LeBlanc has called that collective experience the best 10 years of his and the other cast members’ lives. He also has said that he has no problem being primarily associated with Friends. In 2017 he told The New York Times:
And I don’t think any of us will ever be able to escape it
That’s something that new generations discover every year
and it’s on all the time all over the world and it makes people laugh and it’s brought people a lot of joy
and the following year the couple had a daughter
McKnight also had two children from a previous relationship
Shortly after Friends ended, LeBlanc reprised his role in the spinoff Joey
in which Tribbiani moves to Hollywood to pursue his acting career
LeBlanc subsequently told his agent to hold inquiries
and he wound up taking several years off from acting
and he wanted to be able to spend more time with their daughter Marina
who was recovering from a rare medical condition
LeBlanc’s self-imposed exile ended with Episodes (2011–17), a Showtime comedy created by Jeffrey Klarik and David Crane, the latter of whom helped develop Friends. In the show, LeBlanc plays a fictionalized (and obnoxious) version of himself. Episodes was a hit with critics and TV viewers, and LeBlanc won a Golden Globe in 2012
During this time he also starred in the sitcom Man with a Plan (2016–20)
about a father who assumes much of the parenting responsibilities when his wife returns to work
LeBlanc is a self-described “car nut,” and in 2016 he became the first non-British host of the car show Top Gear, following several guest appearances. He left the program in 2019. LeBlanc is also a motorcycle aficionado
and in 2003 he hosted the miniseries The 5 Coolest Things
in which he interviewed and rode with competitive motorcyclists

when he saw some construction workers hard at work at the end of his street and he ran home and begged his mom to make him some sandwiches and he loaded up his loot and took off back down the street and sold his sandwiches to the workers
it is no surprise that Danny built an extremely successful business from absolutely nothing and was always attempting to make it even better

don’t ever say I never gave you anything”

and paranormal researcher Ronny Le Blanc signing copies of his book “Monsterland: Encounters with UFOs
Bigfoot and Orange Orbs.” Le Blanc will be speaking at the Erving Public Library on Sunday
19 where he will share his knowledge of the paranormal
independent researcher and screenwriter from Leominster with an interest in UFOs
Paranormal aficionado Ronny Le Blanc knows there’s something out there besides humans – knowledge he wants to share and explore during a talk at the Erving Public Library on Jan
is known for his time spent on Travel Channel’s “Expedition Bigfoot” and “Paranormal Caught on Camera” along with his research into Bigfoot
speaking to audiences both nationally and around New England
he said that he’s been speaking at libraries across Massachusetts for the last two years
are opportunities to share his knowledge of the paranormal at the places where he learned so much
We had to do our own the Dewey Decimal System
“So it's kind of my way of giving back to the libraries that just supported me in the past with books
Le Blanc says that he opens with a slide dedicated to the suspension of disbelief
The purpose of opening with the “film term,” as he puts it
is to prime listeners to be open to new perspectives
“Say you're watching a science fiction film
your brain wants to rationalize everything and give an explanation
and sometimes you just have to keep an open mind
and just give yourself a little pause and let things play out and see what happens,” Le Blanc said
“Because you might find out that your preconceived notions
For context, a CivicScience survey from 2022 asked adults 18 and older in the United States if they believed Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch) was a real
Thirteen percent of those polled in 2022 believed the creature was real
which was an increase from the 11% who said it was real in a 2020 poll
Gen X was also the most likely generation to believe in the creature
31% of Americans polled said they believed that UFOs have visited humans on Earth
Le Blanc still tries to reach those who are skeptical of such things
cases and examples for readers to sit with
“Not all these people can be making this stuff up,” Le Blanc said
He also acknowledges that for many people to be converted
Le Blanc says he can relate: “I can listen to somebody all day long and until I actually see it for myself,” he would be skeptical
But Le Blanc says he has seen evidence for Bigfoot out in Leominster
He explains that in the Leominster State Forest
there is a section of the forest called “Monsterland” where multiple people have reported Bigfoot
He cast one of six Bigfoot footprints that were found in 6-foot strides in the state forest by a friend of his in 2010
Le Blanc says that at his library talks and elsewhere
people tell him stories of their experiences with the supernatural
“There’s people that have seen stuff that just defies logic and explanation
and I think they find it comforting to go to like one of these talks and actually meet other people that are experiencing the same things,” Le Blanc explained
“So I think that’s the comforting part about this.”
While Le Blanc is a believer, others may not be — a fact he understands. But with more events like the recent drone sightings across the United States
Le Blanc believes people are becoming more aware and asking more questions
“Everyone wants to know what’s the truth behind this
“And I think people are ready to hear the truth.”
For those interested in investigating Bigfoot
be the first 40 in line at the Erving Public Library on Sunday
followed by a question and answer session with Le Blanc

Karina LeBlanc will transition out of her role as the general manager of the Portland Thorns at the end of the 2024 NWSL season to assume a position that encompasses both the Thorns and Portland's 2026 WNBA expansion team
with the Thorns in the middle of their worst run of form in history
Portland has lost six of its last seven regular-season games and has not won in league play since Rob Gale was elevated from interim coach to full-time coach in July
The Thorns said a search for a new general manager will begin immediately
"We'd like to thank Karina for everything she has done for the Portland Thorns since she joined the club in 2021," Lisa Bhathal Merage
"Karina provided stability for the Thorns during a very tumultuous time
contributed to a NWSL Championship in 2022
and has been an integral part of this club's work in the community
"We believe now is a good time to make a change and set the club
Karina will remain with RAJ Sports in a role that will allow her to thrive and drive impact in our community as we build Portland into the global epicenter for women's sports."
Portland currently sits in seventh place, level on points with expansion side Bay FC
Each team is just three points clear of dropping out of the playoffs with three games to play in the season
The Thorns -- perennial contenders since the NWSL's inception -- last won a league game on July 5
They won the inaugural NWSL Championship in 2013 and followed that up with two more titles and two NWSL Shields
in addition to leading the NWSL in attendance in each of the league's first eight seasons
Bhathal Merage and her brother Alex co-founded RAJ Sports
which acquired the Thorns earlier this year
They were awarded the WNBA's 15th franchise last month
Portland Thorns GM Karina LeBlanc is transitioning out of her role with the club. Photo by Hannah Peters - FIFA/FIFA via Getty Images"I'm incredibly honored and empowered to represent RAJ Sports through the unique and passionate lens of Portland," LeBlanc said in a statement
"Having played here and now living and raising my daughter in Portland
I have firsthand experience of how deeply rooted this community is in the success of women's sports
I truly believe Portland can become the epicenter of women's sports
and I'm excited to be part of the team driving that vision forward."
LeBlanc, who was the starting goalkeeper for Portland that inaugural season, joined the Thorns at the end of 2021, shortly before the team hired Rhian Wilkinson -- a former teammate of LeBlanc's in their playing days with the Canada national team and a former Thorns player -- as head coach
Portland won the NWSL Championship in 2022
She was investigated and cleared of misconduct by the league for conduct with a player
but Wilkinson resigned because she felt she lost the locker room
The Thorns lost in the semifinals at home to the eventual champion NJ/NY Gotham FC in the playoffs last season
Portland earned only one point from its first four games to start 2024 and Norris was reassigned to the front office to be technical director
who Norris had brought in as an assistant coach in 2023
The Thorns won six straight games to start Gale's interim era before being hired full-time in July
LeBlanc said the team conducted "a global search" but ultimately felt that Gale was the right hire
LeBlanc told ESPN at the time that Thorns players expressed their support for hiring Gale prior to the decision in July
"This is a club that we want to be successful
so Rob's record in the interim was impressive
but it also was beyond that," LeBlanc told ESPN in July

Also survived by his siblings; Marie LeLievre (Rene "Guy") of Billerica

Edgar worked as an automotive technician since he was a teenager
He first started working in the industry at White's Garage in Waltham
while attending Waltham Technical High School
he was employed as an automotive technician at Lev Kia in Framingham
Calling Hours for Edgar will be held on Thursday
LeBlanc’s new role will span both the NWSL and WNBA teams for RAJ Sports and have some community angle focused on the Bhatha’s vision of Portland as an “epicenter” of women’s sports
though no further details have been provided as of yet
“Karina provided stability for the Thorns during a very tumultuous time
and has been an integral part of this club’s work in the community,” Bhathal Merage said in the club’s official release: “We believe now is a good time to make a change and set the club
The new role should suit LeBlanc’s strengths far more than the general manager role ever did. While she came into the team directly in the aftermath of the NWSL abuse scandal and could provide valuable insight as a former player
the machinations of building a roster were outside of her comfort zone
This should be a win-win for the Thorns and LeBlanc
It’s not the first time the Bhathals have opted to move Thorns technical staff into a role the owners viewed as better suited for them, with former coach Mike Norris also having transitioned to his current role of technical director in April following the team’s 0-1-3 start to the season
The Thorns are still hanging on to a playoff spot, however, despite the momentum swing against them. They’re in seventh place and will face the Orlando Pride — who just clinched the NWSL Shield — at home this weekend

Annie LeBlanc Is Not Dead Yet, Molly Morris (Wednesday 978-1-250-29006-9, $20.00, 336pp, hc) June 2024
California has a secret that only the residents (and a few chosen former residents) can know
The Welcome Back contest allows the townspeople to nominate someone to come back from the dead for 30 days
and that means her friend Annie is returning
The first problem is that one year before she died in a drowning accident
Annie and Wilson stopped speaking to each other
the third member of their formerly tight trio
got into a very ugly fight with Annie at the same time and she is furious that Wilson is bringing her back
is that Wilson is looking for a contest loophole to keep Annie alive
but the only one she can find means making all of them friends again
Welcome to the most important 30 days of all of their lives and one of the better coming-of-age novels you are going to find
Molly Morris’s Annie LeBlanc Is Not Dead Yet
(It is also not a zombie novel!) Annie drowned in her swimming pool after her eighteenth birthday party
While Wilson has wondered in the months since why Annie was alone (she and Ryan were
the only secret is about how things didn’t work out for that night the way Annie hoped they would
But rest assured her death was an accident (which is explained later)
and Wilson and Ryan are not trying to solve a crime
What Annie LeBlanc Is Not Dead Yet is all about is why the three former friends broke up in such a devastating way
and the many many ways in which friends can be spectacularly wrong about each other
some trying to see your parents in a different light
and many visits to a bakery for pie and chocolate that will make your mouth water
I also must mention there are a lot of references to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (comic book
but insist that you listen to ‘‘Hold On’’ when you find them on YouTube
Morris does a great job of showing how even in the most exceptional of circumstances – your friend has come back from the dead
– old hurts can still make everything impossible
and Annie have to talk through and so little time to do it
And remember Annie’s parents (who did not have any say in her return) also want some time with their daughter
who remembers nothing of where she has been but is fully aware that she is dead
would like to enjoy some things she has missed and not
get into the issues that found her alone in a pool on the last night of her life
So how to cram all the necessary quality time together to accomplish the friendship repair necessary to Wilson’s long-shot goal of keeping Annie alive
and things are made worse because none of the girls really want to be honest about what went wrong
The angst is real and painful and Morris doesn’t give anyone an easy way out
They are going to have to do the hard work to understand each other if they want to be friends again and sometimes
Annie LeBlanc Is Not Dead Yet is a very smart
very sincere novel about why friends matter
Morris’s smart use of the Lennon Historical Society and the Welcome Back contest is excellent and I was happy that she didn’t complicate things with a whole lot of backstory; she gives readers enough to know what is happening and then throws the three girls together to work out their differences
(And they have A LOT of differences to work out!) The plot zips along
and Lennon itself sounds like quite a place to visit
Upon turning the last page I realized this book is one to read and pass along to your friends
Morris makes things just twisty enough to turn the pages
Molly Morris is definitely a YA author to watch

Julie Zitzmann LeBlanc was born on October 14
Julie lived with a fervor and a love for life
six-year battle with metastatic uveal melanoma
and passed away peacefully in her home in Vicksburg
The world was a better place with Julie in it; she will truly be missed.
As a child Julie was curious and always looked for new horizons to discover
Raphael Elementary School and Academy of the Holy Angels High School
She enjoyed spending summer days visiting her grandparents in Waveland
Mississippi with her sisters and many cousins
Julie was married for 40 years to her teenage sweetheart
Julie earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of New Orleans. She was employed by the U.S
Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi Valley Division as a project manager and Chief of Hydraulics and Hydrologics
Julie’s career at the Corps spanned thirty-three years
Julie was a member of the Louisiana Levee Board and also worked for the Louisiana Department of Public Health working for drinking water purification
She was honored by AWOP for her dedication to the protection of public health and unwavering support for the national Area Wide Optimization Program
Philanthropy was a way of life for Julie who championed many causes
one of which was animal welfare. Julie paired her love of antique Volkswagens and animals at Buggin the Big Easy
Julie couldn’t tolerate seeing an animal in pain
so she often rescued animals' others neglected or did not want
patient man who let me have my heart’s desire
He never said no to an animal in need and let me care for
and (sometimes) keep strays that others abandoned or caused harm.” Julie adored her pets who gave her joy and comfort
especially her dog Lucy who remained faithfully by her side.
Advocating for young girls was another way Julie gave back to her community
Julie was an active Girl Scout volunteer for over twenty-seven years having served as troop leader
and day camp director in New Orleans East/Gentilly
Julie also served on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts Louisiana East for years and received the Women of Distinction Award for her dedication and work for the Girl Scouts of America. Julie respected the organization so much that she named her younger daughter after the Girl Scout founder
Julie loved nature and thrilling adventures such as hiking
rollercoasters and excursions in the camper with her husband
Julie also shared these ventures with her daughters and her good friend Alicia who shared Julie’s love of the outdoors
Many of our memories of Julie will be of her perched on the front tip of the raft rushing down the Ocoee River in Tennessee with the wind in her hair and the water splashing her face.
Music was a big part of Julie’s life
but heavy metal was Julie’s favorite music genre
The words echo Julie’s anthem and her dreams for the world
which include taking care of “Mother Earth,” the end of “hate and bigotry,” and making the world “a better place.”
Although Julie received a devastating diagnosis
she fiercely played the hand she was dealt and faced her diagnosis with acceptance
She continued to live her life with exuberance
and focused on gaining knowledge and educating others about her rare disease
Julie bravely participated in support groups
and meticulously wrote detailed journals and Facebook posts describing her medical journey to increase awareness of ocular melanoma
Julie fought with a strength and clarity we all admire.
Charles LeBlanc; her daughters Lydia and Juliette LeBlanc; her grandson Miles Slay; her parents Charles and Jean Zitzmann; her sisters Michele Bache (Robert) and Christy Bonnaffons (Lou); her nieces and nephews Camille and Leo Bache
Julie is preceded in death by her nephew Ethan Bache.
and reflect on what you can do to make the lyrics from her favorite Ozzy song ring true:
I’m just a dreamer who dreams of better days.”

the holding company of the Pinault family that controls Kering and took full control of Courrèges in 2018
It’s the latest executive change in an ongoing industry-wide shakeup that’s seen a dizzying amount of exec and creative director reshuffling. Leblanc most recently served as CEO of Victoria Beckham, before stepping down earlier this month.
“Marie’s unique talent lies in her ability to fully immerse herself in the creative process
ensuring it remains constantly aligned with the brand’s identity
while crafting an operational strategy that supports and enhances this creative vision
This is precisely what Courrèges needs to continue its growth trajectory,” François-Henri Pinault
“I would like to wholeheartedly thank Adrien Da Maia
who has skillfully led the renewal of Courrèges since 2020
allowing the brand to be well positioned for a new successful chapter in its history.”
the remarkable work of the artistic direction has established a strong creative vision and infused a new energy into the brand
with the opportunity to connect with diverse customers,” Leblanc stated
Da Maia now intends to pursue an entrepreneurial project
having led growth at Victoria Beckham over the last five years
chairman Ralph Toledano will act as interim CEO until the company names a successor
