It was a Wild Wednesday on the high school docket.
Besides hockey and wrestling, there were some key girls basketball tilts as well. In hockey, the BG boys got a big road win, and Alvirne-Milford just keeps on winning under interim coach Molly Norton. And the BG girls snapped their longest losing streak in several years.
But it was also a huge wrestling night, and in the annual dual meet battle between Hollis Brookline and Bishop Guertin, the Cavs prevailed.
Here’s the rundown on that Wild Wednesday before weather likely shuts down Thursday:
The Cavs got wins by Victor Lomme at 113 (pin), Hunter Knight at 126 (pin), Caden Bruseo at 138 (technical fall 18-1), Jacob Critchfield at 157 (pin), Martin Burns at 165 (pin), and Jacob Velez at 175 (pin).
For BG, James Algeo got a technical fall 15-0 win at 132, Finn Murphy a 7-1 decision at 144, and Jack Foster a pin at 150.
Wins for the Tomahawks were by Avery Berardinelli at 126 (pin) to go with several forfeits. Campbell wins were Logan Gillen at 132 (14-9 decision), James MacLean at 138 (pin), Logan Alaire at 175 (pin) and Jaydon Uccello at 190 (pin).
In their other match in the tri-meet, the ‘Hawks got wins by Owen Sayball at 126 and Cooper Seltsam-Wilps at 215.
All of Campbell’s points were on forfeits.
The Spartans prevailed in their final dual meet of the season with pins by Kiki Lordan (126), Cam Stickney (138), Phil Wright (150), Noah Kittredge (165), Jack Clancy (175), and Brandon Leeman (heavyweight). Other wins came from Jace Wilhelmi (6-5 decision) and Nate post (4-0 decision). They also got two forfeits.
Milford heads to Salem Saturday for a quad meet with Manchester Central and Memorial.
Noah Cordiero’s third period goal was the difference for the Cards (10-3) for a a big win on the road, their sixth straight. Ryan Mogielnicki and Gavin Santos got assists.
Luca Ferrari, Jordan Delude and Mogielnicki gave the Cards a 3-0 lead with three second period goals before Hanover came roaring back. Bradyn MacLean also had an assist.
Conor Hayes got the win in goal for BG, which is at Bedford on Monday at Saint Anselm’s Sullivan Arena.
The Admirals outshot the visitors by a whopping 49-9 at Skate 3 to improve to 11-3 in Division II and clinch a first-round bye.
Braydon Atwood and Brandon Ganas each had two goals and two assists. Brandon Callahan, Mason Tomkins, Dylan Macleod, Landon Briand and Logan Howard also scored.
Briand, MacLeod, Luc Pelletier, Brandon Hiltz, Riley McCarthy, Bryce Larco and Nate Ricci also all had assists.
Mason Komarek had one save while Ari Scarbro had four in goal for the Admirals, who host unbeaten Oyster River on Saturday.
The WarHawks gave the Bobcats just their second blemish of the season (11-0-2) at the Whittemore Center.
MHBDS is now 8-4-2 and will be at Manchester on Saturday.
Scar Casey and Emily Powers combined in goal for the shutout as the Cards snapped a six-game losing streak.
Haley Gagne (goal, three assists), Carly Green (goal, assist), Grace Spengler, KateOskrko, Avaa Brennan (goal each) and Giadda Kennedy and Ari Pascik (assist each).
Now 3-10, the Cards host Salem on Saturday at Skate 3.
The Panthers fell to 6-9 despite 16 points from Addie Borden and 12 from Nicole De Jesus. Karina O’Donnell added eight and Lexi McGuire seven.
Concord Christian improved to 12-3. South will visit Dover on Friday.
The Broncos (9-6) had to withstand one of the Tomahawks’ best games of the year as Merrimack had a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on.
Bronco Ella Hartson scored seven of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter, while Courtney Anderson added 11.
Abby Herod led Merrimack with 17 points while Meghan McCarthy had 13 and Avary Cruz 12. Alvirne hosts Dover on Tuesday while that night Merrimack (1-14) will try to snap a 12-game skid at Concord.
The Sabers broke out to a 22-4 lead and never looked back, imoproving to 5-9.
Zofia Rosenfeld had 16 points, while Kayden Merriam added 10 and Tess Jancar (nine) and Lanai Hickman (eight) also chipped in. Hickman also held Stark scorer Alexis Corbet, the fifth leading scorer in Division II, to just three points.

SectionA childcare centre is a place that is used in many and complex ways. As a place that hosts small infants, it must stimulate them, support them and protect them; as a workplace for adults, it must also be practical, versatile, efficient and comfortable. The challenge was to combine these different demands, rhythms, speeds and scales.

The floor plays a major role in the lives of crawling tiny tots. The floor covering is all in various pastel shades of beige, ranging from chocolate to sand. These shades may be smooth or striated, forming a tatami mat that is fun to touch and that children can explore at their will. The slight differences stimulate rather than shock the children, the aim being always to encourage them through suggestion.

The interior fittings live up to the highest levels of health
safety and comfort while also trying to conceal the standardized features commonly found in this kind of establishment
one doesn’t notice the finger protection strips covering the hinges because they run the whole length of the door
Most of the technical installations – ventilation and extraction
hangers and recessed lights on dimmers – use rounded
The acoustic fittings become patterns that blend in with the sculpted ceilings
All of these design features combine to make the centre more than just a community day-care facility: it is a home from home for the children and their parents

When we heard that Belgian gallery Z33 was holding a "sustainability summer school" during this year's Salone del Mobile in Milan, we were interested in finding out more about these New Heroes. Thomas Lommée's OpenStructures project is one of five-presentations from the New Times New Heroes show
A global dialogue four years in the making
the Project has steadily grown to encompass a variety of parts and objects all scaled according to an open-source grid system
We sat down with Lommée to learn more about the origins of the OpenStructures project
chat about learnings from the beta model and hear more about new models for adaptivity
what sparked the start of the OpenStructures project in 2007
Thomas Lommée: The OpenStructures project was a personal project that started with a sketch at the Institute Without Boundaries
I was looking for a more sustainable way of building
modularity is one of the core principles of sustainable design because it allows for flexibility in your design
It allows for objects to shrink and to grow and to adapt
there's this development of open source thinking and open source development within software
which allows for people to build further on other people's designs
And then there was a third development which was laser [cutting] and 3D printing
It allowed for people to design and build at home
These four trends merged into the OpenStructures project
How can we make objects that are easy to adapt
and that also the consumer can build further on
It was basically about generating a new relationship between the consumer or the end-user and the computer. So
it's really about looking differently at objects
It's really about not looking at them for what they are but for what they could become
It's about looking at the potential within the existing and it's about pre-designing a second life in an object
And it's also about trying to change the notion of waste
when it's no longer valuable within its context
But if you make a part or an object part of a bigger system
What process did you go through to determine the dimensions of the grid
from logistical objects like crates and pallets to kitchen structures
and I tried to look for the biggest denominator
What are some of the opportunities and limitations you've discovered as people have really started interacting with the project and actually putting it into use
but actually what I discovered was it was way more about the assembly points pattern
because that is actually the interface between two different parts
That's really where different parts meet and where they can interconnect
was to integrate common diameters of parts so that different parts can be screwed together
but something that different people suggested
I also tested the models on different scales—on product scale
on interior architecture scale and on architecture scale
and actually we were kind of proceeding on all three of the scales
I think it's very important to mention that it's not a perfect system at all
There's a lot of flaws and there's a lot of things that don't make sense yet
but it's really about trying to think about the outcome: what's now the next step
Which kind of object do we think is interesting to build further on
it's all about evolution—about the emergence of different objects or object families
and about trying to monitor this evolution
Do you find that there's particular regions within the world that are more interested in building this modular kind of open source system
and a lot of what people come up with has already been done
and it's actually been done in regions where there's scarcity
You see that people start making accommodations
improvise or they have to try to come up with a quick solution
And that's where we see a lot of things between this project and the existing situation
What I think would be great is if imagine within 20 years if I walk on the street and I see some kind of dumped object
and I see that certain parts of this object are according to this grid
Then I could imagine what I would do if I unscrew these parts off
and either bring them to an open structure shop
Test it out; it only takes a single click to unsubscribe

HAMPTON – It will be a weekend packed with wrestling at Winnacunnet High School’s Physical Education Building
The fifth annual Warrior Invitational for high school wrestlers will take place Saturday
The hosts were fifth last season when the tournament was won by Division I Londonderry
Second-year head coach Eric Larcomb believes his team should move up this year
“I think we have the ability to be top three and potentially win it,” Larcomb said
“I think our team is up there against most of the teams coming and we’ve beaten most of them in other tournaments.”
On Sunday the focus will shift to the younger wrestlers when the Winnacunnet Wrestling Boosters will host the inaugural Seacoast Youth Wrestling Tournament for grapplers in grades K-8
Both the Hampton Academy and Seabrook Middle School teams will be competing
Larcomb said as of Wednesday “about 210” wrestlers had pre-registered for the youth tournament
“And we’ll probably have some more registrations,” Larcomb said
It’s a lot better than I thought was going to happen the first year.”
will feature nine teams with a few independent wrestlers also expected
“It’s a smaller tournament this year but we’re looking to expand it for next year,” Larcomb said
“I think in a good tournament that’s competitive and worth going to year-after-year you need 13 to 17 teams.”
While the total participation may have decreased all of the top teams from the past two seasons except 2014 champ Londonderry will be back
including 2013 champion Manchester Central
Tyngsboro senior Kevin Morris was the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2014 Warrior Invitational and earlier this season won the highly competitive Lowell Tournament
Coming for the first time will be Central Catholic from Lawrence
Pelham and the Timberlane “B” team will also be on hand
Winnacunnet should have several wrestlers in the hunt for individual honors
though the Warriors may be without freshman Jaden Lesperance at 106 pounds due to illness
Alex Larson (182) and Mike Palazzolo (195) have also been slowed by the flu
Palazzolo is expected to be ready to wrestle by Saturday
Larson came back last week and has been wrestling well
including taking second place at the Timberlane Invitational last Saturday
I think his style works best at 182,” Larcomb said
He had an option to go down to 160 because (Ryan) Boyle moved down to 152
He’s giving up pounds definitely but he’s a tough kid.”
Also placing second at the Timberlane Invitational was senior captain Jon Carrigan at 170 pounds
Brandon Barbour-Grissom (285) and improving sophomore Tyler Mallett (132) reached the consolation final with Barbour-Grissom winning his match to place third
Sophomore John Ferrelli (138) has also had a strong season
“We did fairly well at Timberlane,” Larcomb said
113 and our 195 and we were three points away from fifth place or higher
three points shy and with three kids missing.”
Larcomb said it is doubtful that any Warrior will be seeded first in the Division II championship
“In Division II we’ll definitely have a lot of ranked wrestlers but nobody who will be the favorite,” Larcomb said

the first soldiers recieved the new Norwegian uniform
also known as the Nordic Combat Uniform (NCU)
Read about the uniform's features and components and see pictures
but a complete uniform system with all garments from innermost to outermost layers
wool terry – to combat uniforms and two different sets of insulation jackets and trousers
It is based on a 'layer-on-layer' system and is designed to work together from the innermost to the outermost layer
The combat jacket is made of flame-retardant fabric
The detachable hood has multiple adjustment options and also accommodates the combat helmet underneath
The jacket also features removable elbow protectors
The combat trousers are also made of flame-retardant fabric and have sewn-on knee protectors
Removable knee protectors are also included
and the trousers have special straps to adjust the height of the knee protectors
The trousers can be adjusted at the waist with Velcro
there is a clever 'accordion function' that ensures the trousers stay in place when you squat down
You can also adjust them around the calves
The trousers also have hooks at the bottom
so they can be fastened to the boots to prevent
The uniform is also equipped with many adjustment options
The combat shirt is made of soft and flexible jersey on the torso
The sleeves are made of the same durable material as the jacket
These are designed to withstand weather and wind
The shell jacket and shell trousers are both windproof and waterproof
The insulation jacket comes in two variants: a light one and a thicker one
The thick jacket can be expanded with zippers to accommodate more layers underneath
The insulation trousers also come in two variants and have zippers on the sides
They are made of an insulating Gore fabric and have an adjustable waist
The snow jacket has zippers that provide easy access to the pockets underneath and can adjust ventilation
The camouflage pattern has some new grey details because snow is rarely completely white; there are shadows and bare patches in between
The snow trousers have front pockets with special closures instead of Velcro because tests showed that snow gets stuck in Velcro
The buttons are large enough to be used with gloves on
Most of the pockets in the uniform have straps on the inside to secure items like compasses and keys
Several of the pockets also feature a MOLLE system
similar to what is found on combat vests and backpacks
The braces that come with the uniform can be attached and adjusted with Velcro
The uniform also includes an adjustable belt that can be used on all uniform trousers
The underwear is made of 100 percent merino wool from a Norwegian company that produces the garments in Estonia and Latvia
The high wool content means the garments do not need to be washed as often
while providing a cooling effect in warm climates and a warming effect in cold climates
The underwear comes in both briefs and boxer shorts
It is made of 100 percent merino wool and is tailored to your size
based on your height and chest measurements
either with a half zipper at the neck or a full zipper
The underwear also has a soft wool terry on the inside and is seamless for extra comfort
These are produced by Woolpower and have a higher wool content compared to previous models
It wicks moisture away from the body and provides good insulation
Soldiers also receive a repair kit to fix minor damages themselves
such as sewing on a patch if something gets worn
The system is called the Nordic Combat Uniform System (abbreviated NCU or NCUS) and is shared by Norway
The development of the new uniform system has been a Nordic collaboration project among the Nordic countries
The countries have joined forces on a common contract for new uniforms
which are similar in design and construction but equipped with different national camouflage patterns
The collaboration has given the parties a larger collective footprint in the market
making it possible to obtain uniforms of very high quality at a good price
The Norwegian uniform comes with a camouflage pattern that has been researched
and tested by the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment
Tests conducted by FFI show that the new camouflage pattern camouflages much better than other commercial patterns on the market
Seconds saved from being detected can ultimately save soldiers' lives
NCU can be delivered in far more sizes than previously available
The uniform comes in around 30 different sizes
weight and height were used to determine sizes
the tops are based on stated body length and chest measurements
this uniform can be much more easily adapted to different body types and shapes
and wool mesh garments are tailored for women and men
it has been user-tested by approximately 400 soldiers from the Nordic countries
They tested various versions of the uniform for daily use over a period and answered surveys along the way
Distribution of the new uniforms started in Finnmark
and Home Guard District 17 are fully outfitted
the process will continue gradually southwards to the rest of the armed forces
There will be a gradual introduction of the new uniform system in the coming years
This is to ensure that all old uniforms at one garrison are replaced with new ones
so that the various depots only need to manage one uniform system at a time
The first deliveries consist of nearly 700,000 different items
comprising 28 types of garments from innermost to outermost layers
Although the current uniform will be phased out
It will continue to be used alongside the new uniform for a long time
The old uniform will be utilised as much as possible
It is a high priority to increase the lifespan of the garments in the new uniform system
The clothes will be repaired in sewing rooms to a greater extent than before
soldiers will have more responsibility for repairing and maintaining their own uniform and equipment
The new uniforms come with a small repair kit

Danish organization Heroic has announced the relief of its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team’s coach
The news ends a six-month tenure for LOMME who was brought on during ECS Season 8 in August 2019 to improve Heroic’s form
This was the 26-year old’s second spell with the organization
having coached the team for three months in 2016
On Twitter
LOMME expressed his gratitude and wished his former team well
saying: “Time to move [onto] other things,” suggesting the Dane may be headed for greener pastures at another organization
Hope they will find success with the new team!”
Heroic achieved little outside of a title finish at the GG.Bet Winter Cup and DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019 during LOMME’s stint as coach. Although, the organization recognized him for bringing in “a lot of structure and new skills to the roster.”
