Chinese manufacturer DAS Solar says it will open a €109 million ($115.3 million) panel production plant in Mandeure
From pv magazine France
Chinese PV module maker DAS Solar plans to build a 3 GW solar panel factory in Mandeure
Vice President Shi Si announced the project during a recent press briefing organized by the Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération (PMA)
The company will invest €109 million to establish three production lines in a 51,000 sqm facility
repurposing a former Faurecia (now Forvia) automotive subcontractor site
DAS Solar set up DAS Solar France in September to facilitate the project and aims to begin production by 2025
The company also plans to expand into the full PV supply chain
including solar cell manufacturing and subcontracting for cables
and wafers through partnerships with Chinese and local suppliers
This factory wil be DAS Solar's first in Europe
adding to its 14 existing sites in China employing 8,900 people
Shi attributed the decision to strong demand in the European Union for locally manufactured products and productive discussions with the French government
The company considered Germany and Spain before selecting France for the facility

The 63rd Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett
the FAI World Long-distance Gas Balloon Championship
saw the victory of team SUI-1 (Laurent Tièche/Nicolas Sciboz) today Tuesday
The two pilots landed their gas balloon in Romania
1774.76km from the take-off site in Montbéliard
The prize-giving ceremony takes place on Saturday 21 September in Montbéliard

Originally slated to debut in Geneva
the Saetta is a stylish single seat racer that features flowing bodywork and an open cockpit
but the concept has an aerodynamic front fascia that apparently channels air underneath the hood to generate additional downforce
Also Read: Espera Sbarro Mojave Is A Futuristic Take On Classic Hot Rods
The track-focused design is visible elsewhere as we can see aerodynamic side skirts and vents above the front wheels
Air is also directed around the cockpit and into two large intakes which reside on either side of the driver
Other notable features include a minimalist windscreen and a roll bar that is integrated into the design of the vehicle
We can also see an exposed rear end and OZ Racing wheels wrapped in Michelin tires
Little else is known about the car, but construction pictures suggest the Saetta has a tubular chassis and a lightweight fiberglass body. We can also see what appears to be Maserati-sourced engine
but there’s no word on performance specifications at this point

However, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out as the school teased “See you soon.” In the meantime, we’ll remind about past Sbarro concepts such as the Mojave and Evoluzione
The latter was a Lamborghini-inspired roadster that was powered by a Audi-sourced 1.8-liter turbo engine that developed 178 hp (132 kW/ 180 PS). The Mojave
was a modern day hot rod with a Jaguar-sourced 4.0-liter V8 pumping out 290 hp (216 kW / 294 PS)
Following last week’s news that Sochaux could be forced out of their stadium, Stade Auguste-Bonal
L’Est Républicain report today that the two parties involved
the club and the owners of the stadium (the Pays de Montbéliard Agglomeration) have come to an agreement that allows the club to remain in their stadium for the following six months
This possibility was mentioned during a discussion between the club’s general manager and a representative of the agglomeration
which was broadcast on France Bleu last week
While this extension serves as a short-term solution
permitting Sochaux to continue their chase for promotion
another 10-year deal will have to be arranged within the coming months
Sochaux currently occupy fifth place in Ligue 2 and are just two points behind second-placed Paris FC
who were beaten by leaders Toulouse this weekend

Travel sickness isn’t just hearsay. Nearly a third of people experience motion sickness – and to this day we don’t exactly know what causes it. The prevailing theory suggests it is triggered by a poor perception of movement
Departure to and return from summer holidays seem moments especially prone to this sickness’ stealthy advances
We (or at least those of us inclined to travel sickness) are more often ill during these particular journeys than during our normal comings and goings
Let’s note too that lots of travellers feel a sense of fatigue, drowsiness, apathy or lack of energy without having done any particularly exhausting activity. These are in fact symptoms of mild motion sickness
which show that many more people are affected by the condition than you’d think
Why this apparent heightened susceptibility during holiday trips
all with the potential to increase the incidence and severity of symptoms
In a car, the further one travels, the more likely one is to feel ill, as shown by a number of mathematical models which predict motion sickness
It’s the adding up of unpleasant movements which takes us over the threshold where we feel symptoms. For certain people, this can happen after just a few minutes); for others it develops more slowly
will this latter group be pushed over their limit and start feeling unwell
In summer, the temperature inside a vehicle is difficult to control, with the sun often imposing a stifling heat; conditions which tend to accentuate the symptoms of motion sickness
When it’s hot, our body has to make an effort to regulate its temperature
These various signals amount to ‘primary symptoms’ as they can contribute to the appearance of other more substantive symptoms: dilation of the blood vessels
To counter these effects, one is tempted to switch the air conditioning on, which could itself, perversely, worsen the situation for passengers highly susceptible to motion sickness
Ventilation and cabin air systems also push people toward their nausea thresholds
It’s also known that there is a region of the brain – the area postrema or chemoreceptor trigger zone – which can trigger over-production of saliva and nausea specifically when certain smells are detected – a protective reflex against toxins and other poisonous substances
In a car, it isn’t speed that makes one ill but changes in speed
Acceleration and breaking movements aggravate the human body
In practice, variations in speed are often forced on the driver by road design (speed limits, crossings, traffic lights), but also by the state of the traffic. A car stuck in jams will be forced to speed up and slow down at random intervals, which grates, even at low speeds
Traffic jams also have a psychological element. Delays to a journey (which might already have been very long), anxiousness about arriving at the arranged time, which is looking less and less likely, tiredness, stress and irritation can all cause the passengers’ mood to crash. It’s been observed that these factors significantly impact the degree of motion sickness symptoms
It would be better to take these setbacks calmly and stay in a relaxed frame of mind but that’s of course easier said than done
If you’re driving with passengers with a tendency to be car sick
some adjustments to your travel habits might help you
Take regular breaks. This allows passengers to take a breather, and to reduce to a significant extent or even get over their symptoms. Sometimes symptoms can take a while to disappear but generally 15-30 minutes is enough
Try to cut down the amount of hard acceleration and braking you do
Keep as far as possible to the same speed and adopt a smooth driving style
Avoid taking corners too sharply on winding roads. Passengers should be jolted in their seats as little as possible
Sit as far forward in the vehicle as possible. Any movement while travelling is better absorbed by the body from this position. It’s in the driver’s seat that people are least affected by car sickness
since one has control over the vehicle’s movement
Avoid looking at screens and other visual content (books, etc.), particularly when the vehicle isn’t moving at a constant speed. Instead, try and look forward out of the window
Shut your eyes or try to sleep
Tilt your seat back
This allows you to be less destabilised by the vehicle’s movements
Go for car games with the other passengers if you get bored: play “I Spy”, sing songs, count cars of a particular colour or make, and other old favourites of proven effectiveness to help pass the time and, above all, take your attention away from the queasiness
The emergence and disappearance of symptoms is mainly a psychological phenomenon
hoping your journey conditions are as good as they can be

THE snowiest and most popular Christmas market in Europe has been revealed - and you've probably never even heard of it
Every year, the French town of Montbéliard hosts an intimate Christmas market called Les Lumières de Noël
The German-style Christmas market first opened in 1986
and it is believed to be one of the most popular Christmas markets in France
Since it first opened, 140 wooden stalls selling handmade gifts and Christmas delicacies have set up shop in front of the Temple Saint Martin - the oldest Lutheran church in France
As well as foodie delights, the French Christmas market also has another important draw - the strong possibility of picturesque snowfall in November and December
A team of travel experts at European Waterways recently revealed the best Christmas markets to visit in Europe for a white Christmas
and they compared it against Europe's most popular Christmas markets
with the possibility of 24 snow days between November 1
Salzburg Christmas market in Austria took second place
Meanwhile, Metz in France and Basel in Switzerland were both predicted to have 20 days of snow.
The Christmas market will be open from November 25
While the Christmas market is free to enter
visitors will need to pay for rides and any purchases they make at market stalls
Both British Airways and easyJet operate direct flights from the UK to Basel in the winter months
Flight prices start at £27 for a one-way ticket
with journey times taking one hour and 40 minutes
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is an international airport that's run by both France and Switzerland
While the airport is based in France
it's just over an hour's drive to Montbéliard
Hotels in the town are extremely affordable In December too
Sun Online Travel have found an overnight stay at Ibis Styles Montbéliard, including breakfast
And there are cheaper options on the market too, including the Ibis Budget Montbéliard where prices start from £28.50 per person per night
There are plenty of other Christmas markets across Europe
Kerststad Valkenburg is an award-winning Dutch Christmas market set inside a series of underground caves
For those holidaymakers who don't fancy heading abroad to visit a Christmas market, then you'll be relieved to know that there are some great festive attractions in the UK
One of those is The Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham
which is said to be the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany
Meanwhile, this travel writer thinks their hometown has the best Christmas attraction in the UK

Picture by 2017 Getty ImagesBy Ali Asgar NalwalaIndian Super League (ISL) giants ATK Mohun Bagan have boosted their defence by signing Florentin Pogba, the elder brother of French football star Paul Pogba, on a two-year contract. The Guinean central defender was playing in the French Ligue 2 for FC Sochaux-Montbeliard.
"Florentin Pogba leaves Sochaux-Montbéliard
the Guinean International wanted to discover a new championship and has transferred to ATK Mohun Bagan FC
which plays in the Indian championship," said Sochaux-Montbéliard in a release
Florentin Pogba played 62 matches for Sochaux-Montbéliard after signing up for them in the summer of 2020
has played for French Ligue 2 club Saint-Étienne and American club Atlanta United
who won the ISL thrice in the guise of ATK
finished fourth in the league standings last season
They made the playoffs but lost to eventual champions Hyderabad FC in the semi-finals
"This is a new opportunity for me,” Florentin Pogba said
“It will give me a chance to know the country
I am able to enter the field with a club rich in tradition
The 6-foot 4-inch defender also has the experience of playing for the junior French national team before moving to Guinea to play at the senior level
Florentin Pogba has 31 international caps for Guinea after making his debut in 2010
This is the second major signing for ATKMB ahead of the AFC Cup 2022 inter-zone play-off semi-finals in September
ATK Mohun Bagan had announced the signing of 29-year-old central defender Brendan Hamill
who played for Australian A-League side Melbourne Victory
Indian midfielder Ashique Kuruniyan from Bengaluru FC also signed up for ATK Mohun Bagan on a five-year deal earlier this month
Plessis and Wantiez are moving heaven and earth to propose a viable budget in order to field Sochaux in the French third-tier this season
They will soon present their budget to the DNCG
for approval to enter this season’s competition
Should the DNCG give a greenlight to Sochaux
the Doubs club would be eligible to play in National 1
Sochaux would then ask the French FA to be drafted into the third-tier
the sale agreement between Nenking and the new owners would become null and void
the Chinese Conglomerate would file Sochaux for bankruptcy before Belfort’s Commercial Court
Around 25-30% of the population regularly suffers from motion sickness - a figure which some reckon to be conservative
Symptoms of this poorly understood illness include nausea
Mildly affected patients might also experience drowsiness
It is estimated 60 to 70% of travellers will suffer from it at some point
Motion sickness is experienced most commonly in cars, giving rise to the term car sickness. Passengers are prone to feeling sick because they are deprived of the capacity to anticipate trajectories
in more than a century of automobile development
the issue of carsickness should have been be solved
As road vehicles continue to undergo technological metamorphosis
digitalisation and automation of vehicles come with benefits - and issues
some technological advances may create or worsen the feeling of imbalance and prevent vehicle occupants from anticipating the itinerary
they increase the risk of undergoing sickness symptoms more frequently
Below are those whose effects are already documented
The use of regenerative braking, which captures the kinetic energy from braking and converts it into the electrical power that charges the vehicle’s high voltage battery, can also upset passengers’ balance. The decelerations induced by this system are usually low frequency
which is typical of a sickness-inducing motion force
Another technological advance inducing motion sickness is the growing presence of ever larger and numerous screens inside vehicles
These screens overburden users with visual information
which discourages them from looking outside
They thereby lose their ability to take in the ‘correct’ visual signals – i.e
the external view of the vehicle – which allow them to correctly perceive their position in space
The race among car manufacturers to create the first fully-automated vehicle is also likely to worsen the problem
While today’s vehicles are only partially automated
this is problematic when we know the act of driving is the best way to anticipate trajectories and curb symptoms
this is another idea that may constitute a psychological bias toward symptoms
Another promise of the autonomous vehicle is to allow its passengers to devote “idle” travel time to productive tasks or entertainment. The increasing appeal of taxi and Uber travel, where users tend to gaze at their digital devices, goes hand in hand with this trend. Here again, such distractions deter passengers from engaging with the landscape
let us not forget the incidence of motion sickness ultimately remains moderate in non-automated cars because of drivers’ ability to adapt their driving style when their passengers report discomfort
This human dimension is set to disappear in autonomous vehicles
whose driving style will be less flexible and less natural than that of a human driver
In the absence of effective means to mitigate motion sickness in cars, aggravated symptoms may ultimately lead consumers to reject such highly-evolved vehicles
psychological and legal dimensions related to their development
it may be that human beings would become the main obstacle to the adoption of these new types of vehicles
For these reasons, automotive manufacturers and suppliers have shown growing interest in this phenomenon in recent years
Their purpose is to better understand it to alleviate it effectively - not out of public interest but because it could compromise the successful launch of their future products
but also the programming of a comfortable driving style that imitates that of a human being and limits sudden acceleration

Following the news that Sochaux may be forced to move out of their stadium
French radio station France Bleu invited Samuel Laurent
president of the Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération
With the rental agreement due to expire at the end of March
Sochaux are unlikely to be able to host Nancy next weekend
“We have a ten-year agreement,” explained Demouge
We have today proposed an extension of six months
it was agreed by the elected members of the agglomeration that all tenants of any establishment pay their utility costs
It’s not my fault if today energy prices have increased
What we ask of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard is that they pay their utility costs
“When my team went to see the PMA on 9th March to start negotiations
‘we will extend the contract by six months
what the PMA was saying was ‘we’ll take six months to negotiate but you sign first.’ And sorry but there I say no
It’s a negotiation that should take into consideration the interests of both parties
I understand that the PMA’s finances have suffered
the TV rights crisis… Football has hit rock bottom.”
the negotiations are still ongoing,” replied Demouge
Laurent explained why he had considered finding the club a new home
It would be a terrible logistical problem for us and it would be heartbreaking for the fans
We’re having our best season for seven years
it’s possible that the league might consider the stadium unapproved.”a
Toulouse have announced the signing of striker Thijs Dallinga from Excelsior Rotterdam
who were promoted to the first tier after winning the play-offs to the Eredivisie
The 21-year-old scored no less than 36 goals and registered 9 assists in his 44 matches in all competitions last year
and becomes the latest Dutchman to join this Toulouse team after Branco van den Boomen and Stijn Spierings
L’Équipe report that the forward has moved to the south of France for a €2.5m
with last year’s top scorer Rhys Healey said to be on his way out
and is the latest in Toulouse’s recent data-driven recruitment strategy which has bore its fruits so far
Dallinga had also been the subject of interest from Rangers and Vitesse Arnhem following his impressive campaign – which saw him named player of the year in the Eerste Divisie – but it’s with the newly-promoted Ligue 1 team that the striker will start the season
Saber Desfarges is reporting that Sochaux attacker Yann Kitala (24) is set to join Ligue 2 side Le Havre AC on a three-year deal
Kitala is expected to join the club next week in order to sign his contract with the club
who has represented the Democratic Republic of Congo at U20 level
has just one year remaining on his Sochaux contract
It is unclear what fee the forward will garner
Kitala played a notable role in getting Sochaux into the Ligue 2 play-offs last season
whilst he also scored twice in three Coupe de France appearances
Since arriving from Lyon for €300k in 2020
he has scored seven goals in 33 appearances for Sochaux
who lost Auxerre in last season’s Ligue 2 promotion play-offs
Le Havre finished the season comfortably mid-table and Kitala would represent the club’s fourth summer recruit should the move be completed as expected

Frank Darabont is a Hungarian-American director, producer, and writer who has a net worth of $100 million. Over a multi-decade career, Frank Darabont has written and/or directed dozens of extremely popular films. He has directed several film adaptations of Stephen King novellas
including "The Shawshank Redemption," and "The Green Mile."
Frank also co-created and developed the hit television show "The Walking Dead" for AMC
Frank's relationship with AMC soured very early on
This led to a royalty lawsuit that dragged on for a decade and ultimately resulted in AMC paying Darabont and his talent agency
Frank Árpád Darabont was born on January 28
His parents had fled Hungary in the wake of the Hungarian Revolution
When he was an infant, the family moved to the United States, so Frank grew up in Chicago and Los Angeles. After seeing George Lucas' film "THX 1138"
he decided to pursue a film career and began focusing on his goal immediately after graduating from Hollywood High School
He began his film career as a production assistant on projects such as "Hell Night," "The Seduction," and "Trancers."
He began to gain wider recognition in the film community after his short
"The Woman in the Room," which was adapted from a Stephen King short story
The film was a semi-finalist list for the Oscars in 1983
Stephen King made the decision to allow select film students to pay just $1 for the rights to adapt his short stories into films
he was selected as a "Dollar Baby" to adapt King's short "The Woman in the Room." Frank's film version was a semi-finalist for Academy Award consideration in 1983
Darabont would have been guaranteed to direct a future Castle Rock movie
He ultimately accepted a much lower offer that allowed him to direct
Frank would go on to write and direct "The Shawshank Redemption," "The Green Mile," and "The Mist," which were all Stephen King adaptions
TNT acquired the cable-broadcast rights to the film
it was shown around the clock as the anchor of the network's "New Classics" film campaign
Shawshank has grossed over $1 billion between rentals
Stephen never actually cashed the $5,000 check Darbont paid him for Shawshank's film rights
King framed the check and sent it to Darabont as a gift with a note inscribed:
In 2010, Frank created and developed the "The Walking Dead" for AMC. The show was based on Robert Kirkman's comic book of the same name
Frank was fired from his position as showrunner
AMC initially suggested he was fired for being unable to adjust to the fast-paced television production schedule
initially seeking $280 million in unpaid profits
In July 2021, exactly ten years after being fired, Frank Darabont and CAA won a $200 million settlement from AMC
Darabont and CAA will also receive royalty payments from the show going forward
approximately $143 million went to settle the suit and acquire Darabon's IP rights
and $57 million repaid the portion of profits he should have received according to the original deal

Maduka Okoye and Football Club Sochaux-Montbéliard defender
Valentine Ozornwafor have been handed call ups by coach Jose Peseiro
Football Club Sochaux-Montbéliard have confirmed the return of Valentine Ozornwafor into the Super Eagles fold after his hiatus
The former Galatasaray defender will be playing for Nigeria when they face Algeria in an international friendly game this September
While the names of the inited players are yet to be out
one name has been confirmed after the French club put out a statement regarding the call-up
According to the statement released by Sochaux Valentine Ozornwafor who has been given his first invitation since 2021 will join the national team camp on September 19th
The International friendly between Nigeria and Algeria will be played in Oran on September 27th
and the likely unavailability of Leon Balogun have opened the door for Valentine Ozornwafor to add to his two caps which came in 2021 under Gernot Rohr
Maduka Okoye will also be handed a call-up to the Super Eagles for the friendly against Algeria
Recall that the Watford goalkeeper reportedly exempted himself from playing for Nigeria after the backlash he received for his role in the Super Eagles’ elimination against Tunisia at AFCON 2021
Will be interesting to see how Maduka Okoye will fair against Algeria if selected as he has not been a regular for his English club Watford
The official call-up list will reportedly be made public on or before Monday
as Super Eagles camp opens on the 19th of September 2022
