The Lorraine-Alsace emergency services were called around 2.15am on Sunday morning after two vehicles collided on the A30
According to the officer in charge of the investigation
it seems that a driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the barrier before stopping
A second car then struck the crashed vehicle
Both drivers were taken to hospital in Thionville
The passenger in the other car was transported in serious condition to the hospital in Metz
The A30 motorway was closed near Nilvange and did not reopen until around 5am on Sunday morning
