Seven Tesla Superchargers were set alight earlier this week in the US state of Massachusetts
while a dozen Teslas were reportedly incinerated at a dealership in Toulouse
with both incidents believed to be intentional arson attacks
The incidents represent a disturbing increase in the public push back against the Tesla brand because of the politics of its CEO Elon Musk
and reports of minor vandalism – scratching and painting cars and dealerships – across Europe and the US in recent weeks
Fire officers and police in the town of Littleton
responded to a Tesla Supercharger station just after 1am on Monday
following a report from a neighbour who saw a fire
The Littleton Fire Department and Littleton Police Department observed seven chargers with heavy fire damage
The Littleton Electric Light & Water Department then had to cut power to the devices before the fires could be extinguished
and State Police fire investigators collectively believe that the fire had been intentionally set
A reward of up to $US5,000 has been offered for information on who set the fire
The Supercharger fire reportedly took place only a few hours after a similar act of vandalism was carried out at a Tesla dealership near Toulouse
a dozen Teslas were torched early on Monday morning at a Tesla showroom in the Toulouse suburb of Plaisance-du-Touch
which is understood to be another act of arson
left eight cars totally burnt out and another four cars badly damaged
The local prosecutor’s office told the AFP news agency that an investigation had been opened into the attack
saying that evidence suggested the blade was “not at all accidental”
told the AFP that the showroom itself had not been targeted
and that local firefighters had quickly determined the blaze was criminal

A Tesla dealership in France has been targeted by "anarchists" in an arson attack
who have recently slammed owner Elon Musk for his political actions
The Anti-Authoritarian Information Toulouse and Surrounding Areas (IAATA) anarchist group claimed responsibility for the attack in Plaisance-du-Touch
The group said it set fire to vehicles inside the dealership using two gasoline cans
before questioning whether firelights "would not have been a more effective means"
Reports suggest that 12 vehicles were impacted
while the damage was estimated to be worth a staggering €700,000 or £580,000

The Toulouse dealership was targeted by arsonists who caused hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage
French newspaper La Depeche reported that instances of arson had been seen in the city in December last year
mayor of the Toulouse suburb of Plaisance-du-Touch
said firefighters had determined the cause of the fire was criminal
adding that the dealership building was not targeted
The IAATA described itself as the "combative anti-fascism" on its website
adding that it does not believe in the "myth of democracy"
Its "fire salute to Tesla" message indirectly blamed founder and CEO of the electric vehicle giant
for its motivation behind targeting the dealership
while a further four suffered fire damage
The message said: "In the face of the current masculinist and transphobic offensive
we are a fragment of the fight against patriarchy
"Faced with the industrial ravages that are destroying the planet
we are the radical ecology that does not believe in technological solutions
Let's continue the offensive against the techno-fascists!"
It called on other factions around the world to engage in the "anarchist conflict" while other radical sites have further incited violence
including providing advice on how to make Molotov cocktails
Instances of vandalism against Tesla and Elon Musk have taken place in recent weeks
including by protest groups Led By Donkeys and Political Beauty
The groups protected the word "heil" onto the exterior of Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory in January alongside Elon Musk with an outstretched arm
It comes as Tesla sales have fallen in France and across Europe as many industry experts point to Elon Musk's political activity and controversial statements
Tesla sales in France declined a staggering 45 per cent over the first two months of the year compared to the same time last year
While the Tesla Model Y was the best-selling electric vehicle last year and the 10th most sold car
it has plummeted to 27th on the list this year
The dealership building was not targeted by the arsonists
according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)
New York: Shares of Tesla tumbled Tuesday following data showing a big drop in auto sales in China
adding to recent losses amid backlash to CEO Elon Musk's alliance with US President Donald Trump
The electric auto maker sold 30,688 vehicles in China in February
according to data from the China Passenger Car Association
Tesla has lost more than one third of its market value since mid-December as Musk has deepened his association with the polarizing US leader
who is the driving force behind the so-called Department of Government Efficiency
which is seeking to slash through the US budget
reportedly will attend Trump's address before Congress Tuesday night
Musk has been excoriated among congressional Democrats for his role in cutting government jobs
He has also been criticized for endorsing far-right political figures in Germany and for making a hand gesture at Trump's inauguration that was likened to a Nazi salute
A Tesla dealership in France was set on fire in what authorities are calling a suspected arson attack
The fire broke out on March 2 in the Toulouse suburb of Plaisance-du-Touch
causing an estimated loss of 700,000 euros ($756,280)
The city prosecutor’s office stated the fire was “no accident at all.”
Investigators believe the arsonists cut a hole in the dealership’s perimeter fence before setting the fire. On March 4, a Southern France anarchist group claimed responsibility
calling the attack a part of its mission to combat fascism
we decided to greet a Tesla dealer in our own way on the night of March 2 to 3
We set fire to vehicles inside the compound using two petrol cans,” the group said in a statement
The group’s message encouraged others to take similar action against Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his billionaire allies
Burn a Tesla!” suggests more attacks may follow
While the French government has not condoned attacks on Musk’s businesses, officials have recently been critical of him
if we had been told that the owner of one of the largest social networks in the world would support a new reactionary international and intervene directly in elections
who would have imagined it?” French President Emmanuel Macron said
Macron’s comments refer to Musk’s attendance at a far-right German political event where he voiced support for a reportedly extremist party
Musk urged members not to be ashamed of the party’s past
He also appeared to endorse ethnic nationalism
“It’s good to be proud of German culture and German values
and not to lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything,” Musk said
Musk has drawn controversy for inflammatory statements and actions
During the presidential inauguration, Musk was seen making a chest-to-arm motion interpreted as a Nazi salute on stage
The X owner denied the gesture was intentional
Musk has also promoted the idea of seizing Canada and Denmark and incorporating them into the United States
Citizens of the nations have spoken out boisterously against what they deem hostile rhetoric
As Musk’s influence grows increasingly controversial
more groups have turned to direct action against him

Seven Tesla charging stations were set on fire in Massachusetts and in another attack, a dozen of Tesla vehicles were torched at a dealership in Toulouse in France. In both cases, the authorities suspect it to be arson. the authorities found many Tesla charging stations were “engulfed in flames and heavy
Littleton Electric Light and Water Department cut off power for safety reasons
The authorities announced that seven Tesla charging stations were damaged
this appeared to be an intentional set and are offering a reward of $5,000 for any information about this incident.
