company’s brand as well as the scheduled release in 2025 of the ELH25.1 Elhyte was founded in March 2022 in Viriat associate and CEO of SGC Travaux Spéciaux in Sainte-Foy-l’Argentière Elhyte specializes in electrification of construction equipment The company’s new E-Cube battery uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry which the company said enables a lifespan of up to 12,000 hours of use by different mini-excavators the battery is capable of being reused as a stationary energy storage unit for applications such as solar power production The cubic configuration of the E-Cube optimizes available space and does not increase the weight of a retrofitted machine The battery replaces the original internal combustion engine and counterweight center of gravity and lifting performance of the mini-excavator “Equipped with a thermal management system to operate under extreme conditions from -4° F to +140° F E-Cube battery self-regulates based on external temperature,” said Robin Pre-conditioning of the battery is also possible to reach the optimal operating temperature as soon as the machine starts up consisting of a removable jib and an electric winch enables a single-operator to exchange the E-Cube battery in less than 10 minutes. The battery is readily transportable and equipped with standard Type 2 connectors for automotive-style charging it is possible to charge it directly from standard outlets The E-Cube battery will initially be retrofit into existing mini-excavators before being used in Elhyte-branded models will be launched in 2025 as the result of a partnership with an established manufacturer The E-Cube joins the Mobilyte pack – interchangeable batteries for heavy equipment over 10 tons – which was officially presented at the Espace BTP French trade show in Lyon (FR) in July 2023 Elhyte showed the first fully electric retrofitted 25-ton excavator at the Dig Tour exhibition in Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure and at the Espace BTP/InnovDayTP performance validated (TRL7) – Hopium reaches the final milestone before commercialization of the 100 kW hydrogen fuel cell system the cleantech company that aims to decarbonize heavy-duty transport is pleased to announce the successful completion of its road tests marking a decisive step towards the commercialization of its innovative fuel cell technology. The road validation tests were carried out on the UTAC circuit and from the first laps the fuel cell system demonstrated its robustness and allowed the test sessions to be carried out without interruption The validation program included dynamic cycles on the road circuit (strong accelerations and decelerations vibrations) and tests on the speed ring (high speed corresponding to the usage cycles of heavy-duty transport. These tests confirm the robustness and reliability of the hydrogen propulsion system developed by Hopium They thus validate the operation of the Hopium fuel cell system in a real environment This crucial milestone represents a significant step forward towards the company’s goal of offering a solution for the decarbonization of heavy-duty transportation We are delighted to have reached this milestone It is the result of several years of R&D but also of all the expertise and know-how of our teams since the beginning of Hopium I would like to sincerely thank them and salute their work and their involvement because without them “ These tests validate not only the quality of our fuel cell technology but also our commitment to decarbonized and responsible mobility Many partners and customers have been waiting for this confirmation to go further with us We are now on the verge of commercializing our system which has enormous potential in many applications Following numerous discussions at the Hydrogen Business for Climate Forum on October 1 and 2 in order to finance the industrialization of its fuel cell system which will enable it to reduce its manufacturing costs and offer a competitive alternative to diesel for the heavy-duty transport market by 2028-2030.Hopium will devote the coming months to intensifying discussions with a view to acquiring a stake in its capital from a major industrial player to support its future developments in particular the installation of its automated assembly line on its new site in Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure and the finalization of its 200 kW system in an industrial version intended for heavy-duty transport.Hopium embodies the expertise and commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable mobility the company offers a low-carbon alternative to diesel engines meeting industry expectations as well as the needs of the heavy-duty transport sector without compromising on performance and autonomy READ the latest news shaping the
