Cavaliers quarterback Emerson Peterkin has an extra tool at his disposal to hone his ability to think quickly and make snap decisions that could change the course of the game
it's been a great addition to how I train and prepare and it's really helped me improve my game," said Peterkin
In collaboration with Champlain's Information Technology department
the Cavaliers have installed a 360-degree camera on the quarterback's helmet that records during team practices and can be watched back using a virtual reality headset
"The idea is that you can relive the practice and reconsider the decisions you made in the moment," said Coach Shawn Mayne
He said the VR playback allows the QB to prepare for possible outcomes as if he is really living them over and over again
you can speed up the footage and practice taking decisions faster than in real life
And it will feel slower during the actual game," said Mayne
The footage can also be slowed so the user can take the time to evaluate every detail
"I believe its biggest benefits have been slowing the game down which has been a big help for me," said Peterkin
"It makes everything easier to understand and gives me a better feel for what's going on
I'm able to recognize coverages a lot quicker when I'm using the headset
and things make more sense when I go back and review."
the viewer can see the training centre in Châteauguay and the players surrounding Peterkin
the viewer is able to see all angles of the field and review game footage in an immersive first-person way
Coach Mayne said they have used the technology in two practices so far and it's not just the quarterback who can benefit from the VR view
"Receivers like it because they can see what the quarterback sees
It puts you in their shoes and let's you see the plays from their perspective," said Mayne
"We can also hook up the feed to a TV and all the team can see what's happening inside the headset," he added
While the team is not permitted to record footage on the 360 camera during games
it has potential to improve the team's performance when it counts
"Information Technology & Media Solutions (IT&MS) constantly strives to identify opportunities for the strategic application of technology to better the lives of our students
both in the classroom and on the field," said Robert Hofstatter
Champlain Saint-Lambert's Head of Information Technology
"The genesis of this idea comes from a research study conducted at Bishop's University which found that the use of VR in reviewing sports plays contributed to both better and faster decisions
We are proud to be the first English college in the province to deploy this technology to our sports teams and look forward to even bigger wins on the field."
The technology could also help give the Cavaliers the edge when it comes to recruitment
offering an experience off the field that few other teams in the network have adopted
The President of the Board of Directors of Collège O'Sullivan de Montréal, Ms. Joanne Rousseau, is pleased to announce the...

Aware that wood heating is one of the main causes of smog in winter
the City Council wishes to better regulate the use of solid-fuel fireplaces
would require the use of certified appliances producing an emission rate equal to or less than 2.5 g/h of fine particles into the atmosphere
The aim would be to further limit the emission of particles into the atmosphere
which means that the by-law will not be adopted until a future meeting
this by-law will help improve air quality and represent a public health initiative
The Ville de Saint-Lambert has reached a new milestone in the refurbishment of its municipal workshops
The City Council has given notice of motion for a borrowing by-law in the amount of $18,260,000
The building is in need of major upgrading
and is showing advanced signs of obsolescence
The City must therefore carry out major work
It will also take the opportunity to update the building in line with the current needs of the administration and public works teams

Following representations from local residents concerning parking problems since the construction of the bike path
the City Council has been actively working to arrive at a solution that is acceptable and safe for all

the municipal council tabled the Ville de Saint-Lambert's 2025 budget
Despite a 6.73% increase in the agglomeration's co-sharing and a new property tax roll with an overall increase of 30%
the increase in the tax bill will be limited to 2% for the average home
which makes up more than half of our tax bill
Our challenge is to maintain a balance between our total tax bill and maintaining a quality service offering
we had to be very rigorous and questioning in order to achieve this budget
and we are very proud of it under the circumstances,” declared Mayor Pascale Mongrain. The budget therefore stands at $74,225,170
It includes property taxes for services provided by Saint-Lambert
the agglomeration of Longueuil and the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.For residences
this translates into a tax rate of $0.7270 per $100 of assessment
This reduction offsets the impact of the new assessment roll
The increase in the tax burden for the average single-family home
will therefore be limited to $154 for 2025.The 2025 budget does
“Our city's 2025 budget has been drawn up with the objective of ensuring that the tax burden on Lambertois and Lambertoises remains reasonable despite all the headwinds. We love our city and want to ensure its long-term viability, in particular by keeping it in good financial health,” concluded Mrs. Mongrain. The detailed budget is available in the Budget section

Saucette Caviste, a recently opened neighborhood wine bar in Saint-Lambert, is the result of a collaboration between Marie-Ève Collin and Catherine Denault, two longtime friends united by a common vision. They bring excellent natural wines and wonderful moments of conviviality to Saint-Lambert
Marie-Ève and Catherine have known each other for over 15 years. Two years ago, they reconnected and discovered that they shared a similar project: to open a friendly place centered around wine and good food. For Marie-Ève, it was a retirement dream, while Catherine had been thinking about it for a good decade. Their backgrounds are different but complementary: Marie-Ève, a graduate in culinary arts from ITHQ in 2002
has always worked in the restaurant industry and more recently took a sommelier course
comes from a background in management and marketing
with a growing passion for wine gained through training and numerous travels
the two partners aimed for a small wine shop with a few seating options
upon finding the location in Saint-Lambert
they realized that a wine bar aspect was missing in the neighborhood
the concept of Saucette evolved into a space where people can come to enjoy wine and gourmet dishes in a relaxed
as if they’re receiving friends or family,” emphasizes Marie-Ève
The wine shop section offers over a hundred products (natural
additive-free wines made by small local and international producers)
with inventory changing weekly to feature new arrivals
This dynamic allows for the organization of wine-related events
such as tasting workshops and meetings with winemakers
“We want to highlight the artisans who work passionately to bring us these wonderful products,” notes Catherine
The wine bar serves as an entry point where customers can discover wines they can later purchase to take home
The menu at Saucette has expanded beyond expectations, featuring dishes that invite sharing. Some classics, like charcuterie and cheese boards, will remain on the menu, but it will change with the seasons to incorporate local products. “We collaborate with local producers like Les Fleurettes for our vegetables and the Fuoco cheese factory,” explains Marie-Ève
Among the standout dishes are roasted vegetables served with homemade labneh and spicy oil
as well as kimchi fritters with green onion emulsion
You can also expect to find smoked salmon from Fumoir de La Loutre
prepared according to Marie-Ève’s inspirations and seasonal products
Marie-Ève creates delicious and appetizing dishes that make you want to come back
“People are amazed to see such quality in the dishes,” notes Catherine
The decor of the wine bar, a result of collaboration with Séjour Studio
They designed a space reminiscent of a kitchen island
the perfect spot to gather with a glass in hand
The atmosphere remains relaxed and unpretentious
Each visitor is welcomed and advised like a friend
It’s a place to enjoy a glass of wine and a bite to eat
leaving with a smile and a good bottle under your arm

2025 for all residual materials collections

To find out the days of the various collections in your area
This measure reduces the impact of our environmental footprint
By optimizing sorting and the use of our blue and brown bins
we can considerably reduce the amount of material going into our garbage
Good sorting at source is THE best solution!According to RECYC-QUÉBEC statistics
only 3% of the contents of our garbage are actually waste
This means that 37% of our residual materials are recoverable
There are a number of resources available to help you sort better and reduce the amount of material that ends up in the garbage
The majority of waste collection is now mechanized
meaning that collection trucks are equipped with a mechanized arm to empty the contents of wheeled bins
That's why it's essential to get a bin that fits
European plug-in wheeled bins cost approximately between $100 for a 120-L and $140 for a 360-L (plus tax)
They have an average lifespan of 8 to 10 years
This type of bin is easily found in local hardware and big-box stores
All sizes are available at our local BRM hardware store on Victoria Avenue
we leave it up to them to choose the size of bin that suits them best
It's also a question of logistics and fairness
since many citizens already have a compliant bin purchased at their own expense
Your waste in any other type of container will not be collected
If this number is not sufficient to meet needs
certain options are available depending on the type of building
The Ville de Saint-Lambert offers the possibility of serving buildings with 9 to 19 units with a front-loading container with a volume of between 2 and 8 vg3
The city will cover the cost of container rental and collection
These buildings will be required to purchase a front-loading container at their own expense
The change of equipment must be made by December 31
failing which the building will no longer be served by the municipal collection service
the Ville de Saint-Lambert will collect recoverable materials every two weeks from buildings that have purchased a front-loading container with a volume of between 2 and 8 vg3
Buildings with more than six wheeled bins that have not acquired a container should contact the Environment Division to make arrangements
we suggest that you plan to change your equipment as early as possible
Buildings with containersBuildings that already have a front-loading container or a semi-embedded front-loading container and are not currently served by the City will be able to do so as of January 1
Those responsible are invited to contact the City's Environment Division to take advantage of the service
Buildings equipped with a rear-loading container will have to make the required equipment change to be served by the City
The provincial government has decided to modernize the selective waste collection system in Québec
it has designated Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) as the body responsible for managing the collection of recoverable materials throughout the province
The division of Saint-Lambert territory into four sectors and the reduced frequency of this type of collection meets the ÉEQ requirements
One of the main objectives of these changes is to encourage every resident of the City to sort their residual materials properly and thereby reduce the use of landfills
The spacing out of household garbage collections is intended to incentivize people to participate in the other types of collection
such as those of organic waste and recoverable materials
Not only do materials that end up in landfills produce large quantities of methane
Reducing the frequency of these collections therefore reduces the amount of GHGs emitted by trucks
the City will achieve considerable savings
Reducing the volume of garbage sent to landfills through better management of recoverable and organic materials will also help reduce the ever-higher costs associated with landfill sites
You can view or review the November 7 information meeting on all the upcoming collection changes on our YouTube account. You can also view the presentation shown at the event
The Ville de Saint-Lambert is proud to unveil the brand new image of its municipal library
to give the library a distinctive character and a visual point of reference in its communications and interactions
the new image reflects the library's dynamism
accessibility and central role in the community.“This change symbolizes our desire to remain at the forefront while remaining true to our mission: to offer an environment conducive to learning
We're delighted to present a brand image that reflects this desire,” says Elizabeth Jacques
Head of the Library Division. At the heart of this transformation is a distinctive logo with a streamlined design
subtly evoking both a book and the famous boat from the city's official logo
This modern yet timeless graphic simplicity makes the logo easily recognizable and memorable
The choice of colors was carefully considered and reinforces the resulting identity: a light blue
recalls the peaceful atmosphere conducive to reading and learning
a dark blue evokes stability and professionalism
consolidating the library's credibility in its role as a cultural institution
these hues create a harmonious contrast that draws the eye
green and yellow will accompany the main colors
As green is synonymous with concentration and learning
and yellow with intellectual curiosity and creativity
the choice is a wise one and in line with the library's mission
The deployment of this new image and its variations will be gradual
progressively integrating into communications and spaces so that users can make it their own naturally
This breath of modernity will undoubtedly highlight all the library's much-appreciated assets
The Ville de Saint-Lambert is proud to present its outdoor photo exhibition project at Coulée verte Park. This project is a continuation of the initiatives taken by the City to publicize local artists and their art
The artist was selected through a competition held in the community to find a local photographer
is presenting her exhibition “La pratique immatérielle”
along with an interpretation panel to help visitors understand her artistic process
This photographic project is to highlight the symbolic role of objects rather than their material presence
allowing the immaterial nature of these objects to emerge
The immaterial is everywhere: in the space between things
in symbols that are handed down from generation to generation
Her work seeks to capture this essence in images that reinterpret these practices through photography
The Ville de Saint-Lambert is proud to count this project among its cultural initiatives
The project falls under the cultural development agreement between the City and the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec (MCCQ)
Would you like to find out more about the artist? We invite you to consult her profile on the 100% culture microsite
