has opened a biohydrogen distribution station in Tarn
Designed to meet the growing needs for sustainable mobility
this infrastructure marks an important step in the development of clean energy in Occitanie
A bioH2 station opened on December 30th at acompressed natural gas (BioGNC) distribution site operated by the SEVEN group in Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe in the Tarn
This new station can deliver up to one ton of hydrogen per day
The hydrogen is delivered in a short circuit by the Lhyfe Bessières electrolyser (located less than 10 km from the station)
The completion of this infrastructure in just 10 months is the result of solid coordination between our technical and operational teams with our partners such as the Tarn Department
The bioH2 station in Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe required an investment of 4.8 million euros
it will supply the Region’s 15 new retrofitted hydrogen coaches (liO)
The SEVEN group’s bioH2 station is one of the components of Corridor H2
This major project led by the Occitanie Region and co-financed by the EuropeanInvestment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission
is developing an interconnected network of hydrogen stations
The aim is to replace the use of fossil fuels with green hydrogen for trucks
The aim is to support sustainable mobility that also promotes industrial innovation and local employment
Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe therefore meets the needs of public and private stakeholders in the region
particularly in terms of logistics and transport
who wants to lay the foundations for a rapid and reliable deployment of hydrogen solutions on a national scale
Beyond the local vocation of this station to support sustainable transport
we are working to ensure that it paves the way for larger-scale decarbonization
the real challenge now lies in the massive adoption of hydrogen mobility for passenger and freight transport
“Ensuring a stable supply of green hydrogen
will turn this success into sustainable progress.”

French farmers have intensified their protests against the proposed EU-Mercosur trade deal
blocking access to the commercial port of Bordeaux since late Wednesday
aim to draw the government’s attention to the perceived threat the deal poses to rural livelihoods
Protesters used tractors and trailers to block all roads leading to the port
dumping tyres and waste to disrupt operations
Per the local CR representative Karine Duc
the farmers are frustrated with grain imports and other agricultural products that do not meet European standards and are concerned about unfair competition
France’s seventh-largest port for goods traffic

Around 150 farmers and 50 tractors participated in the protest

The proposed deal aims to reduce tariffs on agricultural products
making it easier for Mercosur countries like Brazil and Argentina to export meat
French farmers believe the deal would undermine their livelihoods by allowing imports of South American products that do not comply with EU regulations
A spokesperson for the local prefecture in Bordeaux confirmed that while discussions with protesters were ongoing
port operations were not majorly affected as of Thursday
recently called for a parliamentary discussion on the trade deal

As the qualifier to Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 approaches
Andrés Ortiz is hoping to lead the way for his country
will host the Sudamérica Rugby Sevens Costa Rica 2021 tournament between 27-28 November
where nine nations will compete for two places in Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022
Whilst the home team might find it hard against the more experienced likes of Chile
they have been working tirelessly for months with the goal of showcasing the sport in the nation’s biggest sporting stadium
with a lot of hard work behind us and a structure on hand to assist,” says Andrés Ortíz
the France-based centre that joined Los Ticos a couple of weeks ago ahead of the tournament
A Costa Rican player making a career in French rugby is a story of dreams and pioneering that transcends borders
It is a story of opening doors for future players to shine in the country that will host Rugby World Cup 2023

after shining at the Juegos Centroamericanos (a multi-discipline sporting event for the region)
he travelled to France thanks to a French coach that he’d met when the coach was helping the national team
a 40-minute drive from Toulouse and after winning the league
When not training for the competitive Federale 2
semi-professional Ortíz works for Airbus as part of the team that paints their A350 and A330s
He is hoping to jump a couple of divisions up in the next season
where it all started for Ortíz at Universitarios Club de Rugby
“The goal for the Sudamérica Rugby Sevens Costa Rica 2021 tournament is to be the top Central American team
with a lot of discipline and the goal of planting Costa Rican rugby as high as it can
We have a blend of experienced players and some fresh faces
when you had to push players to go to national training sessions
today you have a very motivated squad of around 20
Hosting an international sevens qualifier in San José is something that will certainly give the game exposure and profile
and clubs and Federation are doing a great job
Having rugby in the Estadio Nacional is huge.”
The first modern sports and event arena in Central America
the Estadio Nacional can hold 35 thousand spectators
mainly due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions
Ortíz hopes that when they sell out they will allow a bigger capacity
“Playing rugby at the Estadio Nacional will be an historic occasion – something that gives us huge pride and exposure
We are a soccer-mad country and that our sport can set foot in this stadium will be a turning point
showing the government that rugby can organise good events
It will open doors.” And opening doors is something Ortíz is keen on
is also back to join the national team for the Sudamérica Rugby Sevens Costa Rica 2021 tournament
“I was asked if I saw myself as a trailblazer
because I don’t want to be the last Costa Rican to play overseas
I have learnt a lot and my rugby is so much better for the experience
but if I can help my fellow countrymen to give it a go
the benefit for rugby in Costa Rica will be huge.”
Former Flying Fijians tall timber Langi Peters is making an impact in his return to rugby contract in France
who rejoined his St Sulpice La Pointe Rugby Club in Federal 2 division in France last month
has been a wonder to his teammates since his return
“I am delighted to be back after taking a break at home in Fiji,” he said from France on Monday
He helped his St Sulpice La Pointe team beat Argeles 39-33
“My teammates which include Waisale Suka are happy with my return
Last week I came on in the last quarter and we managed to score two more tries
My teammates said I had boosted our side on my return.”
is among the tall players Fiji has produced
With recruitment of the Fijian Drua in progress and coming internationals
built and experience would be a bonus in areas Fiji struggles in such as lineout and possession upfront
“I am putting my hands up for selection if the FRU has an open door policy
I am happy that Fijian players now have a lot of better opportunities and now is the time for them to step up
The opportunity is here and grab it with both hands.”
He said Fiji had a lot of Fijian players in France that selectors could pick from
“Fijian players are playing in almost all the 10 divisions here,” he said from France
He said the Flying Fijians team for the Northern Tour was a good selection
