The new A17 Bionic chipset could drastically improve the performance of the upcoming iPhone 15
consumers are still waiting for the new iOS smartphone to arrive
If you still have the iPhone 13 or other older models
then you might want to wait for the new iPhone 15 because it will have the A17 Bionic SoC
Here are the enhancements and other details of the new chipset
According to MacRumors' latest report
the new A17 Bionic chipset will use TSMC's 3nm process
Since Apple is expected to be the chipmaker's biggest 3nm process customer
M2 Pro and M2 Max SoCs will also use this technology
the upcoming A17 will be 35% more energy efficient
This means that the upcoming iPhone 15 will have a longer battery life
There's also a high chance that the new A17 will support ray-tracing capabilities
especially since Apple allegedly tried developing an advanced A16 Bionic GPU that supports the gaming feature
But there's a catch behind the massive enhancement offered by A17 Bionic SoC
WCCFTech reported that the 3nm process of TSMC could be costly
the chipmaker's 5nm process was around $16,000
Since the new 3nm process is more advanced
critics predicted that the technology's price could reach up to $20,000
Although Apple is among TSMC's biggest clients
it is unclear if the iPhone maker will have a discount for its A17 Bionic chipset
this could also affect the market price of the upcoming iPhone 15; rumors claimed that the Pro model could even cross the $999 barrier
If you are worried about the upcoming price of the new iPhone 15
the best thing you can do as a consumer is to wait for Apple's official announcements
Aside from working on new iOS smartphone models
Apple is also busy with its other products and services
Recently, rumors claimed that the new Apple Pro Display XDR could be in the works
We also reported that the new Apple Music Sing feature is a major breakthrough for the gadget maker

are implementing innovative measures to provide better support for women victims of violence
By Laetitia Van Eeckhout
nearly 213,000 women were victims of physical or sexual domestic violence in France
according to l'Observatoire National de Violence à l'Egard des Femmes
not to mention all those who were threatened or assaulted in public spaces
This reality has led some cities to provide more security for women when they travel in the city and to better coordinate and improve the support provided to them
Below are examples of what cities are doing to counter gender-based violence around France
Eager to ensure it can provide genuine care to victims of gender-based violence
"And their children too," emphasized Christelle Wieder
deputy mayor in charge of women's rights and gender equality
"These are shelters where they can rebuild themselves
between six months and a year." It's "a springboard intended to help them find their own housing
The city collaborated with three local organizations specializing in supporting women victims of violence
who expressed a pressing need for proper accommodation
they're pushed to hotel rooms in remote areas that are difficult to access
and where it's difficult for them to cook and live with their children
And they don't always get a place overnight
They're forced to stay at home and put up with the abuse
always under the threat of violence," said Ms
"This is an unbearable reality," and Strasbourg has decided to put an end to it by paying the rent for real housing as well as social support provided by the organizations
A network of stakeholders working on the issue of violence against women has been created in this neighborhood in the eastern suburbs of Paris
consisting of local organizations and city services
is a coordination response team that was set up in 2018 by the city
"The objective is that all relevant stakeholders in our territory can immediately launch a coordinated response," said Patrice Bessac
Any woman who reports abuse is quickly contacted by a counseling unit comprising of a psychologist
a social worker and marital and family counselors
anonymously sends her report to the coordination and case management unit
"This arrangement is very useful in complex situations and has helped speed up the process of finding permanent accommodation for many victims," said the mayor
the southwestern French city launched the "Ask for Angela" initiative
municipal assistant in charge of prevention
"is to give threatened or victimized women somewhere they can go to
support and even help them with filing a police case."
Easily identifiable by a purple sticker stuck at a locale's entrance or on their window
all partner establishments have a contact person who can deal with the victim
and reassure and listen to them in a calmer location
a possible solution to take them home in a safe manner
they will call the police hotline that is specifically dedicated to this program
shoe stores and museums: The network already has 80 locations participating
"We want to expand the coverage so that it becomes a proper public service," said Claudine Bichet
Her role is not only to coordinate actions to be implemented but above all to act as a point of contact for victims
"The objective is not to offer long-term support because we have designated services in our territory
victims often struggle to find the right contact person according to their needs," explained the representative
She meets the women and discusses with them how they feel and what their needs are
She then connects them to relevant parties who can provide proper support
She does this by calling the women herself and by helping them make an appointment with the designated contact person from each organization
Riou remains available if the victims aren't yet ready to take action during the first meeting
To improve the treatment and care of victims of violence
the Paris City Council has helped l'Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP
France's public health establishment) to create women's homes (maisons des femmes)
The first one was opened in November 2021 at Hospital Bichat in the 18th arrondissement
the second one a month later at Pitié-Salpêtrière in the 13th arrondissement
and the third one in January 2022 at Hôtel-Dieu in the 4th arrondissement and a fourth one is planned at Bicêtre
"The idea is to have a single reception center where a multidisciplinary team can help women with all their needs," explained Anne Souyris
risk prevention and relations with the AP-HP
"The hospital sector is rather reassuring and preserves medical confidentiality." After an intake interview
the victim can benefit from a personalized care pathway
the possibility of filing a complaint on the spot
help in finding housing and participating in collective activities such as discussion groups
psycho-corporal therapy or self-esteem workshops

Apple previously warned that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments would be lower than expected
The tech giant manufacturer explained that the temporary COVID-19 restrictions at Foxconn were to blame
"We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models
we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments," stated Apple
consumers seem to have to endure these issues' effects
According to MacRumors' latest report
The official Apple online store stated that the shipments in the United States are expected to take around six weeks
This means that those who are late to purchase their preferred iPhone 14 models might not receive their deliveries on Christmas
especially after Foxconn confirmed that the shipments are expected to be less than its previous estimate
The manufacturer explained that the recent 85 million deliveries are now difficult to achieve
Foxconn followed this up with a new estimate of around 79 million shipments
Inverse explained that the major reason behind the worsening iPhone 14 delays is where the iOS smartphones are manufactured
contracted by Apple to assemble its iPhone units
plays a major role in the long waiting times
it is also affected by the Chinese government's zero-COVID policies
These health protocols can lock down companies
whenever their employees get infected by the novel coronavirus
They can only re-open once the COVID-19 infection cases fall back to zero
Although iPhone 14 delays are not improving
Apple is still making drastic efforts to ensure that consumers will have the best experiences
Previously, the iPhone 14 Emergency SOS via satellite feature was confirmed to include four new cities
Apple also launched the new iOS 16.0.2 for iPhone 14 users
