and someone who's passionate about clothing even when it doesn't pertain to work
I love trying new pieces and telling the stories of emerging brands
but I have to say that the industry is becoming very predictable.
If you told me about a newly founded menswear company
I probably wouldn't be too far off by blindly guessing performance workwear or made-to-measure garments were in some way involved
They're literally everywhere you look — and I've personally tried or
written about every worthwhile option you can buy
and completely customizable based on their 15-question Smart Fit Quiz
In addition to asking for basic measurements like jacket and pant sizes
the Smart Fit Quiz also asks basic questions about your body like height
This is to make sure every single part of the suits fits your body properly
You'll also have the opportunity to answer style-related questions like how much of your sleeve cuff you would like to show
whether you prefer modern or classic blazer lengths
If you want to order the suit based on your normal jacket and pant sizes
But with how well the Smart Fit Quiz works and the fact that it only took me about 10 minutes
I strongly recommend you go for the fully customized option
The fit is nothing short of amazing considering I didn't have to see a tailor or chat with a style expert throughout the process
I've tried other performance suits that were great from a material standpoint but ultimately required tailoring for a good fit
I'm super thankful that I don't have to wear a full suit to work every day
and I didn't show up to work already covered in wrinkles after my commute
I've been wearing the suit for 9.5 hours (and counting)
and I can say that it's just as comfortable as the jeans and sweaters I usually wear to work.
the jacket fits well whether buttoned or unbuttoned
And if for any reason you're unhappy with the fit after you receive it
Sene will make free alterations as part of its 100% fit guarantee
There's no unattractive draped or pinched effect that indicates a suit that's too big or too small
It's the same price as other performance suits that aren't made to measure
you will probably have spent the difference in price (or more)
The Soho name comes from the SoHo neighborhood in New York City
and it allowed me to keep up with the hustle and bustle of commuting and working in the city
If you want a suit that's just as comfortable as your casual clothes and extremely good-looking
the Sene Soho FlexTech Suit won't disappoint you

Take, for instance, the sonic odyssey JUnQ (or, the Journal of Unsolved Questions), a project encompassing a full-length album, exhibition, and book, which draws inspiration from the cinematic philosophy encapsulated in Robert Bresson’s L’argent. The metaphorical journey of a counterfeit note that circulates with repercussions becomes a lens through which Sene contemplates the fluidity of reality and the consequences of its passage through varied hands.
SHELLY REICH: Initially you were mainly a musician, but later you expanded your practice to include art. Could you explain this transition?
SR: Your sculptures are composed of objects found in the streets of Paris. Can you share the process of selecting and transforming these objects?
Photo: Deng Jiayun, Zona Gargantua exhibition view at Galerie Balice Hertling, 2023.
Photo: Tom de Peyret, Datacomb Area exhibition view at Liebaert Projects, 2023.
SR: Does sharing a studio with Ser Serpas and Pol Taburet make you feel a sense of being part of the “new generation” of artists in Paris?
ES: There’s a unique alchemy in the daily rhythm of work interwoven with the familiar comfort of friends’ company that generates a particularly enjoyable energy within the studio. It’s a quality that I genuinely value and find meaningful.
SR: You’ve released a ten-part album that serves as the musical representation of a larger installation project. How does your background in sculpture influence the way you approach music? Can you share some of your influences working on JUnQ?
ES: The process of creating sculptural work and music, for me, shares similarities. Whether I’m manipulating volumes or experimenting with sound, the elements that surround me—books, samples, movies—are inherently interconnected. Despite the difference in the medium of creation, the underlying process remains consistent, involving a substantial amount of collaging and weaving that fosters an organic osmosis between the two practices.
Installation work at Manifesto arts and cultural festival, organized by Kaleidoscope Magazine, 2023.
SR: The project explores ideas of AI ontology and the nature of artistic performance. What is the role of performance in your practice?
ES: What I like most about musical performance is the influence a sound can wield within a particular context. A sound possesses the potential to embody myriad forms—it can be a dynamic, vibrating mass that, in a live performance, has the ability to erupt in people’s minds, permeate an audience, and transform the entire space. This stands in contrast to the process of solely producing electronic music in a confined room, where the experience tends to be internalized and somewhat claustrophobic.
SR: The view of your works in JUnQ is described as imbuing them with a sense of intimacy and primacy. How do you establish this connection?
SR: Having contributed sound to the new Courrèges perfume ad, how has your experience been collaborating with brands?
SR: In your recent exhibition at Liebaert Projects in Belgium, you crafted an amusement park-like environment. Could you tell me more about the show?
SR: What are the upcoming projects you are working on?
ES: Presently, my focus is on research, and I find it quite satisfying after a busy year. Looking ahead, I aim to explore more collaborative projects, moving away from a predominantly solo approach. Let’s see.

The term “asset” has different meanings to different people
Some may consider the word purely from a financial perspective
Spoten founder and CEO Ivan Sene MBA’21
defines the word “asset” in more personal terms
it’s everyone who makes up the Babson College community
“The chance of networking with anyone in the world
to do business or to work in another company,” Sene said
“The most important thing we all carry is being Babson proud.”
It’s this community that has played a vital role in Sene’s pandemic-influenced business pivot from his data-management company, Spoten, to Spoten Box
which sells boxes stocked with items and vouchers from and to Babson alumni-founded businesses
Sene worked a steady job at Shell in Brazil for several years and was on a career path to a management role
It was a career as an entrepreneur that he craved
a fulfilling sense of community he has since found
“The reason I selected Babson was because I knew after these two years I was going to become an entrepreneur,” Sene said
“This is not an individual’s work,” Sene said. “This is Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® in practice
… These opportunities are never coming back again.”
Alnaimi added: “Me being a Babson MBA
working together and applying the stuff we learned at school
to not just impact our career but also people around us
that’s what inspired me the most to be part of this company.”
The first Spoten Box was purchased on October 22
“The sense of gratitude is what empowers us to keep going.”
Spoten Box’s mission goes beyond profitability
Sene now is seeking to build it by encouraging and inspiring future Babson College entrepreneurs to create businesses of their own that can be featured alongside the ones partnering with Spoten Box
help build relationships among entrepreneurs
the company plans to continue to explore innovative ideas
some under consideration include developing a subscription-box service to the Babson community
“We can leverage this same business model throughout America
“The most important thing now is to allow everyone in the community to fly high and be a Babson hero.”

Sene Naoupu: ‘This proud New Zealand-born Samoan Irish will be wearing green but always remembering where I come from’

North Otago when she took a call from Ireland
The former international player is four months into her job as chief executive of North Otago Rugby Football Union
where she became the first female Pasifika – a New Zealander of Pacific Island descent – to be appointed to that role at a provincial union

New Delhi (PTI): Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to draw upon the Telangana model for the caste survey
remove 50 per cent cap for reservation and immediately implement Article 15(5) providing for reservations for SCs
STs and OBCs in private educational institutions
Kharge also called on the prime minister to have a dialogue with all political parties soon on the issue of the caste census
"Conducting any exercise such as the caste census which gives the backward
the oppressed and the marginalized sections of our society their rights cannot and should not be considered divisive in any way," Kharge said
"Our great nation and our large-hearted people have always come together as one whenever needed
just as we have done after the recent cowardly terrorist attacks in Pahalgam," he said in his letter to Modi dated May 5
The Congress believes that conducting the caste census in the comprehensive manner is absolutely necessary to ensure social and economic justice and equality of status and opportunity as pledged in the Preamble of our Constitution
Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said
the Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji wrote to the PM last night on Mr
Modi's sudden and desperate U-turn on the caste census - even as the nation's anguish and anger at the brutal Pahalgam terror attacks continued unabated."
"Kharge ji has made three very specific suggestions," he said

New Delhi: A 24-year-old SUV driver "intentionally" ran over a security guard posted at Delhi airport’s terminal-3 after he objected to his honking
the cool timbre of her voice echoing through my apartment
counting out reps and ending each class with her signature signoff (“Live
and Lovewell”) from the screen of my stationary bike
Even more bizarre than spending years working out with someone you have never been in the same room as
an item of clothing the work-from-home lifestyle has nearly eradicated and one I’m not used to seeing Lovewell
who is usually clad in stretchy athleisure
probably ripped up with holes in them and very casual and comfy,” she tells me over Zoom
Photograph by Sene.Off the bike, the former fit model has collaborated with Sene
a custom clothing company that uses a 60-second online quiz to create bespoke pieces
‘What are those jeans that you’re wearing?’” she tells me
“I do so much more than just work out and I think people know that
So it is kind of nice to step into that space outside the gym.”
The six-style Japanese denim collaboration is a first for both Lovewell and Sene
which the fitness instructor points out has “actually never had a wash with rips in them.”
I’m so glad that it hasn’t gone out of style really ever
because I will always wear jeans with holes in them,” she explains
Photograph by Sene. But collaborating with Sene was about more than design for Lovewell
who heralded their custom-fit approach as a way to be inclusive
buy these pants because they look good on you and they fit you now
not because you’re hoping to fit into them later,” she says
When it came time to gather inspiration for her line
she used a beloved piece from her own closet for reference
I kind of took this old pair of jeans of mine that I had worn for so long and I kind of modeled this design off of those
Photograph by Sene. But even though she’s glad to see a ’90s revival in fashion
there are certain trends from that time Lovewell would like to leave in the past
“There’s parts of the ’90s that I love are coming back and there are other parts that I’m like
I’ll put in butterfly clips just as a joke

JESSE SENE-LEFAO has been released from Sheffield Eagles by mutual consent
The 35-year-old joined the Eagles back in 2023 from Featherstone Rovers
and went on to score 11 tries in 46 appearances for the club over the last two seasons
Sheffield said in a statement: “We’d like to thank Jesse for all he has done for Sheffield Eagles and we wish him the best with his future endeavours.”
Sene-Lefao was a big hit when he first arrived on these shores in 2017 with the Castleford Tigers in Super League following NRL stints at Manly Sea Eagles and Cronulla Sharks
The back-rower helped the Tigers to their first-ever League Leaders’ Shield that season as well as their one and only Super League Grand Final appearance
While indications on the ground point to another victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming election
so far as the Sene East Constituency is concerned
seems very shaky for the party this time round
The 2020 election saw the New Patriotic Party (NPP) breathing down the neck of the NDC in an uncompromising duel that seems likely to be repeated
come December 7 and the current occupants may not be third-time lucky
The Sene East Constituency located in the Sene East District in the Bono East Region was carved out of the then Sene District (now known as Sene West District) of the then Brong Ahafo Region
through a Legislative Instrument (LI) 2091 and was inaugurated on June 28
This was done prior to the general election in December 2012
thus bringing about the Sene East and Sene West districts and subsequently the Sene East and Sene West constituencies
This was among the changes that led to the creation of 45 new constituencies that year
The Sene East District is one of the 261 metropolitan
municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) in the country
and forms part of the 11 municipalities and districts in the Bono East Region
Sene East is about 4,240 kilometers from Sunyani
the Regional Capital of Bono and it is located in the north-eastern corner of the Bono East Region of Ghana
It covers a vast land area of 4,392.4 sq km and shares boundaries with East Gonja Municipal to the north
Sene West District to the west and Kwahu Afram Plains North District to the south
According to the 2021 Population and Housing Census
the population of the district stands at 72,081
Even before the Sene East Constituency was created
the Sene area was the stronghold of the NDC
since the country returned to multi-party democracy in 1992
the NDC has always held the seat when it was known as the Sene West Constituency
grabbing it with 19,556 votes (61.30 per cent) in the 1996 election
retaining in 2004 with 69.5 per cent of the votes cast
and still winning the seat with 53.7 per cent despite the loss of some votes to closest rival
The trend continued in the 2012 parliamentary election
with the NDC showing that the new seat belonged to the party
by claiming 66.93 per cent of the votes cast (10,343) after the Sene East Constituency had been created
Again in 2016 the NDC’s Dominic Napare contested the Sene East Constituency parliamentary seat and won with 9,936 votes
representing 67.07 per cent of the total votes cast
In 2020 the incumbent NDC MP ensured he protected the seat for his party by amassing 13,401 (64.35 per cent) of the total votes while the NPP’s Luchoun Nicholas Bitagan
have only managed to garner around 30 per cent of the votes in all elections from 2012 onwards
but from 2000 the NPP’s votes hovered around 20 per cent (24.1 per cent in 2000
28.9 per cent in 2004 but 41.5 per cent in 2008
the closest the party came to annex the seat)
the NDC still snatched the victory with 53.7 per cent of the votes
The NPP has in the last three elections changed its Parliamentary Candidate for Sene East (Abdulai Mohammed Belinyi who had 32 per cent in 2012
Mbanyie Abraham Kwadwo who repeated the 32 per cent in 2016 and Luchoun Nicholas Bitagan who increased it to 35.7 per cent)
but that has not changed the party’s fortunes
Dominic Napare is a politician serving his third term as Member of Parliament for the Sene East Constituency in the Bono East Region on the ticket of the NDC
he was the District Chief Executive of the Sene East District from April 28
Perhaps that accounts for his popularity and success at holding on to the seat for three consecutive terms
where he obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in Management and Secretarial Studies
He is the Vice-Chairperson of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Committee; member of the House Committee; member of the Privileges Committee; and also a member of the Local Government and Rural Development Committee
Just as indicated for the Sene East Constituency
the Sene West seat has been occupied by the NDC since 1996 (it was one constituency then)
when the party won the parliamentary election with 61.3 per cent of the ballots cast
the party increased its tally to 68.1 per cent
then pushed it further to 69.5 per cent in 2004 (Incidentally that year was when the NDC got the highest of its votes in the area in an election)
the NDC’s fortunes changed when it only managed to garner 53.7 per cent in 2008
The NPP gave them a run for their money by taking 41.5 per cent of the votes that year (a rise from the previous election’s 28.9 per cent)
losing out in the 2012 election and only managing 34.5 per cent of the votes
while the NDC took the chunk of 64.2 per cent after the constituency had been split into two
But the NPP pushed harder in the 2016 election to obtain 44.3 per cent of the votes cast (its best performance since 1996)
while the NDC still ran away with the victory by taking 51.9 per cent of the votes
Having been emboldened by that performance
the NPP gave the NDC a showdown in the 2020 parliamentary election
which resulted in a dispute in the final result
After the dispute had been settled and the votes recounted
the NDC’s Kwame Twumasi Ampofo was declared winner by the Electoral Commission with only 16 more of the votes
He obtained 13,116 (49.67 per cent) of the votes cast
while the NPP’s Joseph Mackay Kumah had 13,100 (49.61 per cent) of the votes
If the NPP’s consistency since the 2016 election is anything to go by
then the Sene West seat could be annexed by the party come the December 7 election
especially if they give the current occupant of the seat — the NDC’s Kwame Twumasi Ampofoa repeat performance of the 2020 election and tighten up a few nuts
This year’s contest for the Sene West seat promises to be exciting and full of fireworks between the NDC and the NPP
as it will be between two contenders who have been slugging it out since the 2016 election —the NDC’s Kwame Twumasi Ampofo who is the incumbent MP and the NPP’s Joseph Mackay Kumah who will be contesting the seat for the fourth time
thus promises to be a hotspot that must be watched keenly

The festival was selected as one of MovieMaker Magazine’s 20 Great Film Festivals for First-Time Moviemakers
Filmmakers and enthusiasts gathered in Cranston from Oct
13 to 15 for the 14th annual Southeast New England Film Festival
which featured several series of short films in varying genres
an LGBTQ series and two film series focused on New England
Founders Philip Capobres and Don Farias thematically curate and select the films
watching them throughout the year and consulting “different committees of reviewers” who help them with their decisions
Capobres and Farias have always prioritized storytelling when accepting films
not necessarily a film that has the best cinematography or special effects or production values,” Capobres said
“There is nothing worse than watching a boring film,” he added
we’re not going to make our audience sit through it.”
They also said they emphasize story over production value because of the number of submissions they receive from college students
including from the Rhode Island School of Design
“They can’t compete with the million-dollar budgets that we’ll get from Hollywood
but their stories are unbelievable,” Farias said
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-timer or you’re a famous actor; we are looking at the story.”
SENE Film Festival was selected as one of MovieMaker Magazine’s 20 Great Film Festivals for First-Time Moviemakers this year
The festival tends to attract first-time filmmakers because Capobres and Farias reach out to “a lot of film schools” and offer student discounts on submission fees
Capobres and Farias have seen improvements in the quality of submissions as filmmakers recommend SENE to others
The festival has streamlined over time — consolidating from six to three days — and has become more accessible
with screenings scheduled at times outside of typical working hours for attendees who have full-time jobs
He added that the festival includes networking events for filmmakers
connecting them to musicians so they can create film scores together or artists that can lend their expertise in animation
Incorporating art and music into the festival has always been part of the founders’ vision
The festival used to feature musical events before the pandemic and still uses venues that display art exhibits
“We try to promote as many local films as we can,” Capobres said
which is also why they have two series focused on New England featured in the festival
Another priority is to be inclusive of women
members of the LBGTQ community and people of color in an effort to ensure “that every group is represented in our film festival,” he said
Around 80 filmmakers attended the festival this year
and the festival hosts question-and-answer sessions following the screenings to offer the audience “a chance to connect with the filmmaker (and) find out about their creative process,” he added
“That’s something you can’t get sitting at home streaming movies.”
adding that he sometimes finds Hollywood feature films long and tedious
“In seven minutes you can see this story that will make you laugh and cry
it’s a chance to see your work on the big screen with an audience,” said Mark Kiefer
director and producer of the featured comedy film “Or
The Whale.” “A really important part of doing any kind of art is the collective experience of seeing it
sharing it and connecting with other people who are trying to do the same kind of art.”

In front of a large crowd in a dim Nashville
blue and purple stage lights painted the stage as Setnick Sene (’15) commanded his rich
The words to “Worthy is the Lamb” resounded throughout the room during a competition at the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Immerse Conference last summer
“I was nervous and excited at the same time,” he said
“I was blown away by the support of the people in the room
I’m glad I had friends there to celebrate with.”
Sene would ultimately be named Male Vocalist of the Year at the Immerse Conference’s reVIEWyou competition
a chance for aspiring artists to showcase their craft in front of music executives and producers
He also reached the top three in the songwriter category
Two other former Liberty School of Music students
made it to the top 10 — out of over 500 entries — in their chosen categories
Joining Sene in the winners’ circle was Liberty University graduate Roz Welch (’08)
who took home the award for Female Artist/Writer of the Year
Sene and Welch each received a prize package designed to help them build a career in music
including the opportunity to meet with music publishers and artist managers
They were also given tickets to the GMA’s Dove Awards in October

a traveling team representing the Center for Music & Worship
He served as Captivate’s vocal director for two years
and particularly the mentorship of faculty
was crucial in shaping him into the artist he is today
Though Sene has demonstrated he has the chops to be a rising star — along with many of his former classmates who are finding work in Nashville — he said his heart is truly for worship
His time on the praise teams at Liberty showed him that his desire is to shape and teach other singers as they “learn more about God and how to make Him famous.”

2022 • behind the scenesRugby’s Sene Naoupu on Working Twice as Hard for International SuccessFind out how Sene Naoupu went from her childhood home in New Zealand to playing for the Irish national rugby team.by Katina RaschkestaffBecoming an Irish national rugby player
having grown up in a small village in New Zealand is not something that happens every day
It’s also not something that’s easy to accomplish
I got the chance to sit down and talk to Sene Naoupu
Sene Naoupu opens up on her career in international rugby and beyond
"An attitude to do what's convenient doesn't get you much
but an attitude to do whatever it takes makes you unstoppable."
She grew up with three siblings to a single mother in a village just north of Otago
she spent most of her childhood playing volleyball
and touch rugby with her brother and cousins in her backyard
how she felt about sitting down with me to talk about her career and everything she’s achieved along the way
What immediately struck me was that she said basketball was her first love growing up
When I asked her why she decided to follow a path into rugby instead: “Rugby was more inclusive
It was better supported at the time compared to basketball
it was better supported in terms of pathways and structures”
she didn’t realize how her career journey would unfold
or know of her future success in her chosen sport
Pursuing her career, Sene made it to the top twice: First in New Zealand where she played for several years
having moved there with her husband at the time
Having taken a break from rugby due to personal reasons
it was in Ireland where she rebuilt her career
but her passion for the sport triggered her to rediscover her dream
"I remembered that I could play rugby and I thought ‘it’s now or never’."
Going after that dream, she drove from Dublin to Galway three times a week to train, and after some time, she made the rugby 15s and later the Irish Sevens. She debuted for the Irish national team at the 2015 Women’s Six Nations Championship
she was named Women’s Player of the Year by the Rugby Writers of Ireland and was listed as one of the thirty most influential women in Ireland by the Irish Times
who were the most important people who supported her along the way
and they were just so supportive because they understood what I’d gone through to get to that place mentally and physically.”
Despite having to move around New Zealand and later across the globe
This closeness created an environment for Sene to grow and become the successful person she is today
Sene credits the strong bond with her family as her fuel for success
When I asked her what she would say to her younger self
her response was clear and direct: “Believe in yourself.” This self-belief helped her to become captain of the Irish side for one of the big games against England at Twickenham in 2018
the way they played and the way she convinced the team that they had world-class athleticism in their DNA was remarkable
“The way we believed in ourselves and came together against the odds
"The way we believed in ourselves and came together against the odds
“Those opportunities would not have come if I didn’t believe in myself
and then had the attitude to do it all over again
If she could change one thing about the world of sport as it is today, it would be “to promote, value and support pathways and opportunities for girls and women in sport
on and off the pitch.” Even though Sene retired from an active career in rugby in August 2022
she will continue to be a role model for women and girls all over the world
showing them that even though things may not look like they will work out in the first place
Sene is committed to helping girls and women through sport
It doesn’t matter where you are from or who you are
If you put your heart and soul into what makes you happy and what gives you a sense of belonging
then nothing can stop you. Impossible Is Nothing
