A pile-up involving 12 vehicles occurred near Talange on the A31 towards Luxembourg shortly before 8am on Tuesday morning
Congestion immediately started after the accident and began stretching for several kilometres affecting the A4 as well
First images show the violence of the collision
with at least one van among the 12 vehicles
The circumstances of the pile-up at the height of the morning rush hour – and any potential injuries – are not yet known
Motorists driving in the area are advised to be cautious as the left lane remains unusable due to the numerous vehicles and debris on the carriageway
