PSOA Theater student and Arts Ambassador Josh Thone is competing this weekend in the American Pops Orchestra (APO) NextGen National Vocal Competition Semi-Finals Thone is one of 25 students competing out of 240 submissions Viewers can watch Thone’s performance this Sunday and vote virtually for Thone to advance to the live finals Thone previously competed in the National High School Theater Awards Their mission is to find the voices of tomorrow through the usage of pre-1970s music.  “The conductor is known for taking older songs and reviving them,” said Thone “That’s all my career has been so far… It’s why I love musical theatre and music in general to take older stuff and put it in a newer life.”  Thone will perform “Flesh Failures/Let the Sunshine In” from the musical Hair Thone plans to take the hopeful song and innovate it for a modern audience.  “Having that minute to share my hopes for the 2024 version of this society you never know who could be impacted by those words,” said Thone “As long as people feel something in their heart that’s what I value the most with this performance.”   Thone has already advanced his performance craft thanks to APO In addition to receiving a professional backing track and backdrop from APO he also got to participate in a virtual workshop with Nic Rouleau an accomplished actor who most recently played the lead role in the Broadway production of “The Book of Mormon.”  ten performers will be selected for the live finals at the Lincoln Center in New York City on Jan “Performing with the American Pops would be insane,” said Thone “It is so cool to say we get opportunities like this through Milwaukee and through Peck I wouldn’t have been able to even get to the semi-finals without the support of the community Literally would not have been possible.”  Representing PSOA and the Milwaukee arts community is something Thone promotes often.   “Genuinely the school and the city have shaped my life in a way I didn’t expect,” said Thone “I have so much love in my heart for the faculty and the people in this tight-knit community… Success forever will and continues to come out of this program.”  Since arriving at PSOA, Thone has acted in several on-campus productions, recently playing a lead role in Bright Star Thone reflected on his work in Bright Star noting how it helped him remain authentic.  “Authenticity is something this show taught me,” said Thone “We were given total creative control to be ourselves on stage… At the end of the day it’s not just the art we are making but it’s about the humans that we are.”  Whether or not Thone advances to the finals he has expressed gratitude for the APO experience.   “There’s such a privilege to what we’re doing here,” said Thone this experience has already taught me so much about my ability to be authentic.”         The APO NextGen Semi-Finals will occur virtually this Sunday, Dec. 1st at 1 p.m. CST. Armies gathering in the south to attack northern kingdoms The arbitrary circling about of the main characters to delay a prophesied meeting Those three heroes are Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) a sex-positive sorceress with emotional issues; Ciri (Freya Allan) a petite teenage princess on the run from southern marauders; and the Witcher properly known as Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) The women are noble but ruthless when needed; the Witcher is a big silent softy who agonizes over the monsters he dispatches They come from a series of fantasy short stories and novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski that actually began appearing in print shortly before the George R.R Martin novels that inspired HBO's ''Game of Thrones.'' Discussions of who might have ripped off whom can be found on the internet and left there The more salient point for fantasy fans is that the eight episodes of the first season of ''The Witcher,'' released Friday are at a level of production value and writing somewhere south of ''Thrones'' and somewhere north It's more of a Saturday-morning adventure than a Sunday-night prestige project As developed by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (a writer and producer for the Netflix series ''The Defenders'' and ''The Umbrella Academy'') it's also a sort of medieval beast-of-the-week procedural A number of episodes begin with a local bigwig or a group of villagers complaining about a monster that's eating them or their livestock and a testy negotiation between them and Geralt over his fee for eliminating said monster ''The Witcher'' has a lighthearted sense of humor — another difference between it and ''Game of Thrones,'' whose jokes landed with the force of tankards slammed on oaken boards but you could do worse than watching Cavill the only creature the Witcher will really open up to is returning to series work a decade after he starred opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers in ''The Tudors.'' And he brings a convincing physical presence and some wry humanity and emotional depth to ''The Witcher.'' He's operating above the level of the material (and most of the rest of the cast) and if you're susceptible to the fantasy genre even when it's executed in routine fashion he could tip the scale in favor of watching Apparently Netflix likes what it sees: ''The Witcher'' has already been renewed for a second season It's a good moment to have an elaborate fantasy adaptation on the market even if your CGI dragons would make a wildling giggle (KHQA) — The police chief of a Missouri town and his girlfriend have been arrested and charged following the death of one of her brothers an off-duty Louisiana police officer called the non-emergency line of Pike County 911 and Central Dispatch to report a death at a home in the city of Louisiana The home was that of Jones and his girlfriend according to Pike County SheriffStephen Korte Responders arrived on scene and found Gabriel Thone was in respiratory distress but was revived with Narcan and rushed to Pike County Memorial Hospital Jones and Alexis Thone were arrested around 3:30 p.m on Wednesday at a traffic stop in Louisiana Jones is charged withsecond degree drug trafficking, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a controlled substance He's in theLincoln County Jail on a $150,000 cash only bond Alexis Thone is charged with second degree drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance She is in the Pike County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond KHQA is waiting to hear back from city officials concerning the employment status of Jones Last month, on the Saturday before tax day, longtime local actors Amy Thone and Hans Altwies went to the emergency room with Stella “We walked in thinking Stella just had a really really annoying sinus infection,” Thone said said ‘I think you guys are going to be spending the night,’ ” Thone recalled One of Stella’s eyes was just beginning to bulge slightly but the family thought it was sinus inflammation “It was proptosis,” Thone said “The tumor was beginning to dislocate her eyeball.” Stella was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma she was playing ultimate and going to violin concerts,” Thone said “And the next thing is the doctor saying: ‘Your child is probably not going to live out the year.'” is a year’s worth of intensive treatment (chemotherapy now then surgery if the tumor shrinks enough to cut some of it out) followed by a year’s worth of recovery and rehabilitation “It’s so surreal,” Thone said true thing is that you realize nothing is guaranteed But, she said, the theater community, which they have been part of for years, has rallied around them, bringing food, helping with household chores, and navigating the bureaucratic work of health insurance and case management. On Wednesday, they’re going to do what theater people do best — put on a show. Actor Sarah Rudinoff will host Songs for Stella a benefit concert with musicians from around the theater scene: the Victor Janusz Band the Klein Party featuring Eric Ray Anderson they have raised roughly $79,000 of the $100,000 goal The family has health insurance through Thone’s teaching work at the University of Washington, but the couple has had to put the brakes on all their usual projects, including Thone’s acting work and Altwies’ small business LCM Builders which largely hires young carpenter/artists to build and remodel homes Thone and Altwies have performed on almost every major stage in Seattle often multiple times (Seattle Repertory Theatre others) and have become firmly embedded in Seattle’s theater network “It is deeply and profoundly moving to feel buoyed in this nightmare storm,” Thone said “The amount of love is insane: cards people I don’t even know saying ‘I’ll come give you a massage’ or ‘can I mow your lawn?’ Somebody heard us mention we mix coconut water with Stella’s food bag — she has a feeding tube so carries her food with her — and suddenly there’s a giant crate of coconut water on our porch.” they’re spending as much time with their daughter as possible taking her back and forth from Seattle Children’s hospital “There isn’t a ‘normal’ week,” Thone said “There are days she’s totally withdrawn nonresponsive except for the fact that she’s in so much pain But today she’s whistling and doing a crossword puzzle Some days she can’t walk to the corner but the other day she wanted to go to the Columbia City Farmer’s Market People who cannot attend Songs for Stella but want to pitch in can go to Stella for Star at gofundme.com horribly lucky to have health insurance through UW,” Thone said I can’t even begin to fathom the finances for this now Thone is a Shakespeare specialist and said most plays she’s been attracted to over the years have been about unbearable moments “It’s your job as an actor to feel it and then come back because it’s pretend,” she said “But this is so horribly not pretend please let me wake up.’ But if our kid makes it through she’s going to be amazing — she’ll have so much empathy and she’ll find all kinds of things inside herself she didn’t know she had.” Songs for Stella, 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22; by 2 a.m., his only customers were three employees from the nearby Guido’s as the tavern’s long-enjoyed the support of fellow industry workers According to the GM of O’Connell’s with a quiet wind-down happening as Thone tended to his three customers with whom he was sharing photos on his cell phone Though “not feeling 100%” throughout the evening Parker said that a massive heart attack fatally struck Thone Wednesday morning Louis Dining In and Dining Out newsletters to stay up-to-date on the local restaurant and culinary scene Parker recalled that Thone and his trio of regulars “were at the end of the bar and Kenny was shooting shit with them as he always did.” When the heart attack struck “there was nothing they could do.” A history of heart ailments among male relatives had visited the 44-year-old Thone in the very place where he’d met and befriended so many As a longstanding member of the O’Connell’s staff Thone’s loss has obviously left his co-workers shaken But they’re getting together and telling stories everybody began telling stories and having a good laugh Last night, a number of his co-workers, regulars, and friends gathered at Pop’s in Sauget The only odd thing about it was that the meeting was taking place at 8 p.m. Thone was something of a presence at Pop’s often meeting his last customers at the East Side landmark before (and even after) sun-up especially at the tail end of those Friday and Saturday night shifts.  Friend Elizabeth Romero said that “I always looked forward to our leaving Pop’s and watching the sun come up How could you spend a better Saturday or Sunday morning An occasional running buddy of his was eight-year co-worker at O’Connell’s who said that traveling to Pop’s with Thone was “like being treated like a VIP Going into O’Connell’s after (his death) was one kind of craziness It totally didn’t feel like the same place I’d come in on my nights off to have a drink with him He’s the one we all came to see.” When she met Thone, Gebben was an 18-year-old manager of a Steak ’n Shake short shift as a server on Sunday nights and “he was the first one at O’Connell’s who liked me I was young and new and they don’t always take well to that there But he definitely took me under his wing and took care of me the whole time I feel like you’re going to hear endless stories of things he did for people He was the most giving and selfless man.” Gebben recalled her car being hit on that weird only to have Thone stand vigil with her for two-and-half-hours “He wasn’t having a good time,” Gebben said “But he wanted to make sure I was okay.” According to Facebook a whole squadron of people had Thone walk them to their cars he was a handy friend at Shaw and Kingshighway.  It’s possible that of all his colleagues Thone was most-connected to Annette Schwent ever-upbeat server at O’Connell’s she shared well over a decade of Tuesday nights at the bar with Thone verbal battles that confused and delighted customers in equal measure “Our regular customers referred to it as ‘The Annette and Kenny Show,’” she said “We would zing each other like there was no tomorrow New customers would be caught off-guard by it ‘I can’t believe he said that to her and she said that back People would have a great time on Tuesday and leave things (from home or work) behind “I’ve worked at O’Connell’s for 13 years and worked he Kenny for 13 years worth of Tuesday nights,” she added “It was a joy to work with him and I never ever didn’t want to work a Tuesday night Tuesdays are a little more of an industry night and when you work with somebody for that long I will say that in working all those Tuesdays we’d see different college groups come in Wash U… It’s reuben night and they’d start coming in as freshmen and they’d stay ‘til they were seniors to see us on Tuesday which was really cool “A lot of people thought that Kenny and I owned O’Connell’s,” she added with a laugh married couple and were disappointed when they found out that we weren’t married and didn’t own the place.” Maybe the most-surprising tale is that it was Schwent and Thone who’d decorate the place after Thanksgiving As anyone who’s spent time there knows the walls don’t change much and decorations stay up for decades antique gnomes and wreaths and baubles would appear “We did it for the last 10 years,” Schwent said “He was the male Martha Stewart of Christmas decorating dark Irish bar and make it a happy drinking atmosphere for five weeks a year.” At a candlelit Pop’s, with a computer open, around a dozen people came by to share stories like this. Emotions were roiling, laughter alternating with tears, hugs being exchanged, one large group leaving to head down to the Landing; the idea that a group left Pop’s to head back to Missouri for drinks probably would’ve had Thone smiling. (Once there, outside of Joey B’s on a streetside stage Kim Massie sang “Danny Boy” on their request pausing the post-Rams game party music for a rousing rendition which was accompanied by friends pouring out drinks onto the cobblestones of Second Street Here’s a sampling of the comments from Pop’s: I just hope I eventually get to see him again his voice just above a whisper: “A good guy to know Someone you’d certainly want on your side This is a big loss for the entire industry.” Friends Lindsey Wirth and Crystal Davis: “I was an industry employee and he was my therapist He was the best listener and the most-amazing partner-in-crime you could ask for… he gave the best advice he sent the best vibes.” “Ketel One and a can of pineapple juice That’s what we’d like to call the bat signal he’d take a picture of your favorite drink and he’d send it to you He’d have the Ketel One and pineapple juice just waiting for you Kim Thone Visintine noted that “Kenny was just an all-around great guy I’ve seen so many people post that he never met a stranger and that is a very true statement hutchensmortuary.com Start your mornings with a fresh take on the day’s top local news from Sarah Fenske and Ryan Krull Our award-winning content brings readers revealing profiles Start your mornings with a fresh take on the day’s top local news Kristen Wiig joined Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" Wednesday night. During the series, there have been a lot of shocking deaths and plot twists, but the core cast of Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maisie Williams, Lena Headey and Sophie Turner has remained you may have found yourself questioning how much money the actors behind the iconic characters actually makes Game of Thrones is counting its dead following the epic battle – but it seems the direwolf is not among them (SPOILERS) Amidst the chaos and confusion of The Battle of Winterfell, there was some doubt over the fate of Game of Thrones' favourite direwolf **WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR GAME OF THRONES SEASON EIGHT EPISODE THREE** Jon Snow's white direwolf Ghost appeared near the start of season eight episode three, running off into the darkness alongside the Dothraki and Ser Jorah Mormon in order to face the Night King's Army of the Dead. Charging into battle with flaming swords (a last minute present courtesy of Melisandre), the Dothraki were quickly picked off by the wights off-screen. The rest of Winterfell watched the distant lights extinguished one by one, before Ser Jorah and a handful of terrified Dothraki swordsmen returned. But while viewers might have expected Ghost to be running alongside the returning party, tail between his legs, Jon's direwolf was nowhere to be seen — leaving many fans anxious about his fate. However, it looks like this good boy found his way home (either that or showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss took pity on us), because eagle-eyed viewers spotted Ghost in the trailer for episode four. \"Ghost has been found. Holiday brochuresNeed inspiration of where to go next Request a free brochure and start your journey This article originally appeared in Vulture Spoilers ahead for the Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones Did Melisandre’s big reveal surprise you, or did you sense this might be coming Our favorite red priestess has been sprinkling a few clues along the way that she might not be everything she seems—especially if you piece together what’s been on the show plus what the actress portraying Melisandre It all equals one thing—Melony has been using a glamour illusion to change her appearance we’ve compiled all the signs that explain how she pulled it off No tattoo. Melisandre was once a slave, “bought and sold, scourged and branded,” as she tells Gendry. (In A Dance With Dragons, she seems to recall being sold at Lot 7, back when she was called Melony—perhaps her birth name?) We see what this slave branding looks like on the other red priestess in Volantis—a tear tattoo—but it’s a mark Melisandre does not share despite the lack of tattoo-removal facilities in Westeros The glowing necklace. The first time we see that Melisandre’s choker necklace might be a source of power (or a reflection of power) is when she’s able to resist Maester Cressen’s assassination attempt, and her necklace’s jewel throbs with a red light That may be a confluence of events—she could be immortal she could have built up an immunity to poison a.) act as a magical antidote for anything passing down her throat obvious effects of a poison starting to work Then again, Melisandre is famously not wearing her choker necklace when she takes a bath in Selyse’s presence: Was Selyse’s faith or determination to only see what she wished enough to sustain the illusion actually see the true Melisandre at that point This would explain why it was at this moment Melisandre chose to reveal her trickery to someone to a woman whom she does not need to seduce whom she might want to reassure she’s not a threat when it comes to her husband Melisandre asks Selyse to hand her a blue vial If she had used some of it before she started the bath it’s possible she needed a refill once she had an audience perhaps it’s a combination—faith plus potion equals illusion.) Melisandre starts to ruminate on lies and illusions once Selyse is in the room “Not always,” before giving us our biggest clue yet: “Most of these powders and potions are lies Deceptions to make men think they witnessed our Lord’s power they’ll see the lie for what it was—a trick that led them to the truth.” Melisandre makes mention of her various tricks—one for bonfires to send a flaming column “screaming towards the sky,” one to create black smoke “that will make the bravest man piss himself in fear,” and another to drive men wild with lust this is described as “powders to turn fire green or blue or silver powders to make a flame roar and hiss and leap up higher than a man is tall and the thick black smoke that could kill a man outright.” She’ hides the powders in her sleeves in hidden pockets: “She checked them carefully as she did every morning to make certain all her powders were in place.” The other glamours. It’s not as clear on the show as it is in the books, but Melisandre’s gift to Stannis—the flaming sword Lightbringer—is in part a glamour more telling glamour appears in the books when Melisandre does a body swap—making the Lord of Bones She helps complete the illusion with her own ruby necklace isn’t enough—it seems to create something more uncertain making his eye color shift and keeping his face in shadow so she also has him wear Rattleshirt’s bones to lock the illusion in place The strongest glamors are built of such things a man’s shadow can be drawn forth from such and draped about another like a cloak.” The sacrifices. “A great gift requires a great sacrifice,” Melisandre is fond of saying. This is her excuse for burning people alive to aid Stannis’ cause But what if this is one of her greatest lies and the constant burning of infidels is for her own personal gain Does she need a constant source of sacrifice to replenish her own powers or maintain her beauty There are those who believe that bathing in blood provides that so it’s not much of a stretch to think blood sacrifice could do that as well she’s been the only one (or one of the only ones) in on the joke—that the woman these men crave doesn’t exist and her beauty is just another trick to get them to give her what she wants and the book has hinted that Melisandre might be using something to keep her body in shape well past menopause Melisandre has a vision that seems to make blood trickle down her thigh “black and smoking”—sounds like a magical form of menstrual blood we know the film is going to be pretty damn steamy this doesn't necessarily promise her role in them — "I think it's like an insurance thing," she explained to The Hollywood Reporter — but that won't stop us from holding our breath that the time has come to make a name for herself separate from Daenerys "It becomes harder to separate you from the role when you've been with it so long," she said to Vanity Fair Even when GoT ends and Clarke tackles new roles we know the legend of Khaleesi will live on forever You don't have permission to access the page you requested What is this page? The website you are visiting is protected. For security reasons this page cannot be displayed Joel and Dorothy Thone of Rochester are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Brianna Nicole Thone to Christopher Ryan DeGrace son of Daniel DeGrace and Deborah Warren of Lee and Newmarket Miss Thone graduated from New Hampshire Technical Institute She is currently employed as a dental assistant at Alliance For Dental Care He is currently employed as a contractor and self employed photographer Get the latest in local public safety news with this weekly email E-edition PLUS unlimited articles & videos Personalized news alerts with our mobile app *Refers to the latest 2 years of stltoday.com stories Please subscribe to continue reading… The evidence locker is off limits now and under the control of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office police Chief William Jones that he shared with his girlfriend is photographed on Friday Last month two men overdosed in the apartment and Jones has been charged with drug trafficking — A Pike County grand jury has indicted a former small-town police chief on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with a deadly overdose at his apartment in October was arrested Friday and is being held in lieu of $1 million cash bail Jones was chief of the Louisiana Police Department the night authorities found 24-year-old Gabriel Thone dead on the floor of the master bedroom at Jones’ home Thone was the brother of Jones’ girlfriend Her other brother overdosed there as well but paramedics revived him with Narcan Jones, 50, was initially charged with a variety of felonies — from drug trafficking to stealing from the department’s evidence locker — and posted $300,000 cash bail and he’s been living in Cole County awaiting trial and monitored by GPS The grand jury indictment Friday was kept secret until the court gets confirmation that a warrant was served Police in Cole County stopped Jones’ vehicle Friday evening and arrested him on new charges It means someone committed a felony and another person was killed as a result of that felony One classic example of that is the getaway driver to a bank heist who is held responsible when a bank robber kills a guard The felony murder charge carries a punishment of up to life in prison The underlying felony that prosecutors allege in Jones’ case is trafficking fentanyl “He’s only guilty of loving somebody with a drug problem — the girlfriend,” Lozano said “It all just smells of trying to grandstand,” Lozano added told investigators she knew her brothers used drugs but she didn’t know where they got the drugs; stop being prudes about it Folks are way more concerned about Arya having sex with Gendry than they are that Jon and Dany are related The highlight of the episode was definitely the multi-character fireside chat that peaked with Jaime knighting Brienne Her walls finally went down and she allowed herself to be vulnerable after a lifetime of being on defense because of her size and appearance she was suspicious that he wasn’t making fun of her with Tormund starting a slow clap in the background is one of my favorite moments in TV history and Ghost hanging out on the battlement and cracking jokes was great you all saw the episode; I don’t need to recap everything When it’s all said and done and the series is over we’re going to look back on this episode and I truly think we’ll consider it a swan song for the characters A lot of them are going to die this Sunday let the characters just be human and interact and in those moments were able strengthen our connection with them as viewers Those moments have been few and far between To stay up to date on everything Game of Thrones, follow our all-encompassing Facebook page and sign up for our exclusive newsletter Watch Game of Thrones for FREE with a no-risk, 7-day free trial of Amazon Channels © 2025 Minute Media - All Rights Reserved The content on this site is for entertainment and educational purposes only Betting and gambling content is intended for individuals 21+ and is based on individual commentators' opinions and not that of Minute Media or its affiliates and related brands All picks and predictions are suggestions only and not a guarantee of success or profit If you or someone you know has a gambling problem crisis counseling and referral services can be accessed by calling 1-800-GAMBLER I argued that the rapid pace of the show since season 7 was harming the narrative of Game of Thrones as well as several individual character arcs The show slowed down and delivered the BEST episode since season 6 and quite possibly a top 15 episode for the entire series It was full of fan service that didn’t feel like pandering concluding character arcs we’ve been following for the better part of a decade in satisfying ways all while setting up more payoffs in the future Jaime’s trial wasn’t the best scene in the episode but it kicked off things off in style and reminded viewers just how far these characters have come and how far they have to go Dany telling Jaime about her conversations with Viserys took us all the way back to season 1 Sansa agrees with Dany (common ground!) that Jaime can’t be trusted and reminds us of the Lannister’s war against the Starks something she saw firsthand during her time in King’s Landing Bran drops a callback to episode one when Jaime pushed him out of the window paralyzing him and sending him down a path to becoming a tree wizard…guy this is more than enough reason to send Jaime away but the study of the events leading up to and following battles How did we get here and where does it go now?\n She tells everyone about how Jaime protected her at great cost to himself Brienne reminds Sansa that she wouldn’t have been able to help her and Arya had it not been for Jaime Sansa listens to Brienne and changes her mind After all the wrongs the Lannisters have done to the Starks and Sansa is going to let the Kingslayer live because Brienne vouched for him It’s not the last time this episode that Dany is taken aback by the interactions between these many characters who have warred against each other that are now fighting together it’s another great learning moment for Dany It highlights just how much she still has to learn about the North before she can be the great queen we all know she can be Jon votes to let Jaime live because they need the men Dany also refers to him as “Warden of the North,” a very intentional choice of words; she wants to remind everyone in the room that she is the queen something that no one really responds to because they don’t really care that much The only person taking the time for these formalities is Daenerys This is what we’ve been missing for a while Game of Thrones didn’t become a cultural phenomenon because of the battle scenes It built its reputation on the humanity of the characters and the slow movement of pieces across the chess board that is Westeros I once had a wonderful history teacher who explained to me that “History is not the study of battles How did we get here and where does it go now?” Game of Thrones is in peak form when it’s building to the major moments Shows or movies that live or die by their big events rarely hold up What has always set Game of Thrones apart was its ability to not only have amazingly cinematic moments but to build to them with thoughtful storytelling and character development Let’s talk about the Arya/Gendry sex scene real quick: fans are the ones making it weird To stay up to date on everything Game of Thrones, follow our all-encompassing Facebook page and sign up for our exclusive newsletter Watch Game of Thrones for FREE with a no-risk, 7-day free trial of Amazon Channels HBO has entered early development on a live-action Jon Snow series with Kit Harrington attached to reprise his (2x Emmy nominated) role as the scene-stealing brooder/reanimated corpse Should the series make it past the development phase (which is a big ‘if’ and likely highly dependent on the success of HBO’s other planned Game of Thrones spinoff The House of the Dragon) the series would follow Jon Snow post-series focusing on his adventures across Westeros after being exiled from the North in the show’s finale In addition to The House of Dragon (a prequel series set 200 years before the events of GOT that will air later this year), this untitled Jon Snow sequel spinoff is hardly the only spinoff on the horizon for the franchise – three animated spinoffs are also reportedly in the works at HBO All three shows would focus on characters from the book series created by George RR Martin When it comes to what the narrative of this potential Jon Snow spinoff there’s no telling where the showrunners would take the once-beloved Warden of the North – especially considering the revelations about his true heritage in Game of Thrones‘ final season and the death of his lover/aunt (yikes) Daenerys Targaryen any kind of rumblings about a sequel show has the potential to right the wrongs of the epic finale that left so many fans frustrated with the ending of their favorite series Have a tip we should know? [email protected] GOT is a bit like Harry Potter after the watershed Now, don't get me wrong. I am not saying that one is a copy of the other. No way in hell. They are both wonderfully lit in their own special way, but I guess when you get into magic and mythology there is always going to be a few cross overs narrowing it down was actually a little difficult because there are that many common threads and of course utilising years of marathon watching/reading Erm OK hello glaring similarity from ancient myths and mythology You know who loves dragons? Daenerys. Despite them being scary AF, she has a way with them. Another person who has an affinity with dragons despite their fearsome nature? Hagrid. Not to mention that big old scary dragon challenge in The Goblet Of Fire and that escape from Gringotts How about Voldemort and every damn thing he does He would absolutely love Melisandre and all her wild blood magic While we are on the topic of Melisandre, I am not sure where she got that necklace but we all saw what she looked like without it Holla at Nicolas Flamel and his Philosopher's stone. Oof I am just waiting for these to be available from my nearest skincare retailer OK so there are a whole bunch of prophecies in GOT but one that stands the hell out is the one made about Cersei by an old witch. When Cersei visited the witch Maggy, she said that Cersei would have three kids and they would all die In Harry Potter, my personal favourite nervous wreck, Professor Trelawney made a few prophecies that came true Like about Harry/Voldemort having to kill one of each other so the other can live OK so doing each other over is a bit of a theme in both shows people are consistently trying to tip the balance of power into the Dark Lord's favour The Night King seriously wants to get his icy mitts on young Bran Voldemort wants to totally kill poor little Harry GOT has battles every season that honestly have gone from bad to worse on the anxiety-causing scale From the red wedding to the battle of Winterfell to the battle about to kick off — it is basically the least peaceful place to live ever In the final of the Harry Potter books/films, there is a huge battle between good and evil in Hogwarts Too many castles to mention in the Seven Kingdoms but let's just say King's Landing as an example Why the big old glorious castle that is Hogwarts Giants in Game Of Thrones live largely beyond the wall and are viewed as mysterious and dangerous creatures. Tormund Giantsbane drank the milk of a female giant for a hot minute which is how he got is dank strength Giants are also seen as wild and mysterious in Harry Potter, with Hagrid being half giant and his bro showing that they have good hearts but are em, a little unruly. This is where all the ubiquitous British actors come in. Valyrian steel in the GOT universe is the ideal material for a sword but its magical powers can kill white walkers Which is fairly ideal considering how much those super speedy zombies come at you Godric Gryffindor's sword has magical powers and helped Harry in his time of need. Which is a pretty cool additional feature. The three eyed raven gave Bran the chance to look back through time. Including that devastating Hodor episode. Harry and his mentor Dumbledore looked into memories using a pensieve which holds important memories for review. The Lannisters have proven themselves to be largely complete a-holes. Cersei is obviously the worst I mean yes he is all cute and nice now but he has a murky AF past Other fans of home bleach kits are the Malfoys who have that dark old history and allegiance to the Dark Lord Poor old Jon Snow is an orphan whose parentage wasn't clear until after he accidentally got it on with his auntie he didn't get off with any relatives but sadly for him — he is perhaps one of the most famous orphans in history So, like I said about that awkward auntie thing Martin includes it a lot in the books and it features heavily in the TV series too — Cersei and Jamie Lannister being perhaps the best known ongoing incestuous pairing In Harry Potter, a lot of the bad guys are obsessed with "pure blood" witches and wizards. Any muggle born types are known as "mudbloods". Which is effed up. Anyhow, this has led to a lot of inbreeding in the families In Game Of Thrones it is family against each other in the bid for power. Too many examples to name, but remember when Jamie Lannister killed his own cousin because his sister slash lover told him to In Harry Potter people also seem to be falling out with their families. How about the Dursleys being complete meanies to poor baby Harry Potentially the most obvious and straightforward of all the commonalities both started as hit books and both have die hard fans screaming "read the books before you watch it!" one thing the shows share is devastation among fans when they end Not sure about you but I still can't accept Harry Potter being over and it will be damn hard to let go of Game Of Thrones too The majority of fans were less than thrilled about the events that took place during the Game of Thrones series finale last night (May 19), and Jason Momoa spoke for critics everywhere when he live streamed his reactions to the show's finale episode The man who played Khal Drogo on the hit series was not pleased about the fate of his Khaleesi and he made his feelings known in real time as the episode aired When Jon Snow drove his dagger into her heart Momoa grunted and screamed and cussed...a lot When Jon's punishment for killing Daenerys was rejoining the Night's Watch on the Wall “Let me get this s—t straight You’re goin’ back to what the f—k you did in the first place and you killed Khaleesi?" he asked in disbelief We’re gonna go to the bars and we’re gonna get in a fight.” It's no surprise Momoa would feel that way He and Emilia Clarke (who plays Dany) have stayed close since his time on the show His reaction resonated with other angered fans Check out some of the best responses below Khal Drogo is not happy about his Khaleesi's fate.\nRead More The majority of fans were less than thrilled about the events that took place during the Game of Thrones series finale last night (May 19), and Jason Momoa spoke for critics everywhere when he live streamed his reactions to the show's finale episode Jason Momoa aka Khal Drogo reaction video to Daenerys’ death scene Jason is US 😭 he had tears in his eyes and even mouths “I love you” ❤️NOW we know why Emilia said he’s ALWAYS MOTHER OF DRAGONS MAIN MAN 🙌🏼 him and Jacob are Team Targaryen for lyfe #GameOfThronesFinale pic.twitter.com/guJKrLrrRK jason momoa being the biggest emilia and dany supporter after all these years warms my heart pic.twitter.com/xyC1RjMOpl JASON MOMOA’S REACTION TO DANY DYING AND DROGON BURNING DOWN THE IRON THRONE IM LITERALLY DYING RN pic.twitter.com/lXYmW4Zwna Jason Momoa's reaction to the last GOT episode is GOLD.
