Roland Petit (born January 13, 1924, Villemomble, France—died July 10, 2011, Geneva, Switzerland) was a French dancer and choreographer whose dramatic ballets combined fantasy with elements of contemporary realism
Dancers who rose to prominence in his companies include Jean Babilée
whose heroine eats the gems her associates steal; and L’Oeuf à la coque (1949; “The Soft-Boiled Egg”)
in which the leading female dancer hatches from an egg in hell
Carmen (1949) was one of Petit’s most popular ballets; the choreography was passionate and erotic
and Jeanmaire became famous for her interpretation of the title role
Le Jeune Homme et la mort (1946; “The Young Man and Death”) and Les Demoiselles de la nuit (1948; “The Ladies of the Night”) were among his other popular ballets

The winter transfer window is very close to opening
but Milan has been working behind the scenes for quite some time
Regarding the attacking department, one of the recently linked names is Maghnes Akliouche. Samuel Chukwueze appears increasingly likely to leave, as confirmed in recent days by various insiders. In such a case, the Rossoneri could target the young Monaco talent, as already told yesterday
Maghnes Akliouche was born in Tremblay-en-France
giving him dual nationality and the option to choose which country to represent
He began his football journey at Villemomble
and eventually joined Monaco's youth academy
He spent time there from 2017 to 2021 before making his first-team debut
Akliouche played for Monaco 2 during the 2020/2021 season
It was Niko Kovač who noticed him and brought him into the senior team
Over his three and a half seasons with Les Rouges et Blancs
Akliouche has been significant in terms of contributions
he has only represented France at the Under-20
He is an intriguing attacking midfielder from a physical standpoint
favoring the left wing where he has occasionally been deployed deeper in midfield or as a second striker
his market value is estimated at around €40 million

A DROYLSDEN venue is getting ready to reopen after a neighbour took it on
And after Industry ground to a halt
it will be the scene of Sparrows in the Snow
Those behind the success of The Silly Country
did not have to look far for another venue
technically on Queens Walk and opposite Guardsman Tony Downes House
work is ongoing to convert what was Industry into the newly named site
And an opening date of mid-late July is being worked towards
Sparrows in the Snow is being billed as a bar/distillery
the latter of which should be introduced once it is open and things have settled
And it will be doing food but not every day
Collaborations with local restaurants are also in the pipeline
reopen will be a boost to Droylsden town centre
which is subject of a developing masterplan for development
Industry was the dream of local lads Mike Quinn
budgets were pushed to the limit before the doors were shut last summer after three years
the final version of which is still being worked on
include reinstating a branch canal route into its centre
helping its football club get better facilities and linking things up much better and generating more civic pride
Also on the table is what to do with the Concord Suite
which stands between the two venues and which some feel is ‘holding back the development of the town,’ including demolishing it completely
A survey of more than 1,000 people saw just nine per cent of agree that Droylsden has a good selection of shops while more than half lacked a sense of civic pride and did not feel it is safe
90 per cent of young people said they wanted to leave
Just demolish and put bars and restraunts there

New images have been released showing the first stage of improvements to Droylsden shopping centre by owners New-Era Properties
Planning was granted by Tameside Council in June for the Ombler Iwanowski Architects’ design and work has now started on the £100,000 refurbishment of units 1 and 1a which provide 4,000 sq ft of retail and food and beverage space onto Villemomble Square
one of the units will be occupied by existing independent café bar ‘A Coffee Kitchen’ and the other is already under offer for an exciting new concept for the town
The improvement works will include a full re-cladding of the facades of the units
the opening up of the frontages at both levels
and improvements to the public realm lighting
New-Era Properties acquired the shopping centre in 2018 and is looking to investing substantial sums across the site to improve the town centre over the next five years
said: “The improvement work on these two units is the first stage in delivering on our plans to reinvigorate Droylsden town centre
“Over the next few years we will be upgrading all of the buildings we own and working closely with our tenants
other stakeholders and the local authority to improve connectivity around the town centre
“We are delighted to be able to start on delivering our vision to revive Droylsden town centre and make it a place which future generations will be proud to call their hometown.”
New-Era Properties has also embarked on a rebranding exercise for the shopping centre which started with more than 20 members of the local community taking part in a workshop to suggest what facilities the town needs and what it should look and feel like in the years to come
Town councillors and members of the town team
as well as local retailers and community members
joined the owners and branding agency Glorious Creative at the event
Patrick Franks said: “We are determined to consult with the community to ensure what we deliver for Droylsden is what the local people want and need
“There was a lot of very positive feedback and we were delighted with the turnout and enthusiasm
“It was clear just how proud people are of being from Droylsden and how close knit this community is at its heart
“We’re planning to restore that pride and create a town centre where people will enjoy coming to eat
Work on the first phase has now started and is due to be completed this Autumn
