The company hopes that the hamper enabled tennis fans to enjoy the Wimbledon experience at home
The brand also rolled out several activations across 100 different venues in the UK including Lanson bars
Le Black Label Brut owes its name to Victor Lanson who gave it in 1937
both as a proof of openness to the world and as a tribute to the Royal Court of England which Lanson has been officially supplying since 1900
This champagne is a balanced alliance of vitality and finesse
Le Rosé benefits from more than 60 years rosé-making experience of Lanson in its elaboration
It is sought after for its pale salmon color and characteristic freshness reminiscent of the Black Label
Lanson has created Le Green Label Organic from its vineyard located in the villages of Verneuil & Vandières

Enjoying a pint of beer is one of the simple pleasures in life; but with average UK consumption at around 10 litres per person1
keeping up with demand means brewing on an industrial scale and to strict standards of safety and hygiene
For the people involved in the production of beer and lager
their working environment contains hazardous substances with high levels of dust and particles from the grains
physically confined working conditions and aggressive cleaning chemicals
a major producer of malted barley used in brewing
wanted to ensure its workforce was fully protected when undertaking the daily cleaning regime necessary to keep its malting floors and vats free of bacterial contaminants and blockages
turned to DuPont Protection Solutions to provide PPE designed to get as close as possible to zero risk
Each malting floor can take anywhere between four and eight hours to clean
Malteurop undertakes a complete cleaning process
using bleach and high pressure rinsing equipment
every day to avoid any microbiological risk in its malting areas
the Malteurop group is one of the top players in the malting industry
Formed by the reorganisation of a group of cooperatives
this French company transforms barley into the malt that is subsequently used by brewers to produce their beers
With 27 plants around the world on four continents and with a staff of 1,200
Malteurop is becoming the top integrator in the barley-malt-beer value chain
the group has four production sites located at the heart of the cereal region
including the largest Malteurop plant in the world at Vitry-le-François
which has an annual production capacity of 240,000 tonnes
Ideally situated in the Marne département at the convergence of a waterway
the Malteurop site at Vitry-le-François produces the malt that will be used by its brewing customers to produce their lagers
GMP+ (animal nutrition) and ISO 9001 certification
the plant houses three production units where 65 people work 24 hours a day
365 days a year to ensure that the malting process is carried out correctly
both permanent and temporary workers at Malteurop are fully protected and know how to use their coveralls correctly
the barley undergoes various stages of transformation before being stored and despatched to the brewers:
This process awakens and stimulates the grain which then starts to germinate
the grain then remains on a malting floor for four to five days at ambient temperature (12-20°)
Lying on perforated trays equipped with a ventilation system
the grain is turned every 12 hours to ensure its proper development
· next is the kilning process which dries the grain at increasing temperature levels until the curing stage is reached (80-85°)
This crucial stage determines the colour of the future beer
· after transfer to intermediate storage cells
the product moves to the degerminating machine to remove the sprouts
which are then recovered to use in the production of granulated animal feeds
Both upstream and throughout the production process
the barley and malt receive every possible care: testing of new harvests in a micro-malthouse allows the production recipes to be adjusted
while quality controls are conducted in a laboratory where beer brewing conditions are replicated
The objective: to guarantee a quality product that meets the brewer customers' requirements
the prevention of food safety risks throughout the malting process is of paramount importance to the production of a sound
It is a challenge that the company is meeting with good manufacturing practices and a complete cleaning process is undertaken every time unloading occurs to avoid any microbiological risk
DuPont™ Tychem® 4000 S at Malteurop France
To meet the necessary hygiene and food safety conditions
explains: "On the malting floors and in the vats
there is always a temperature of between 18 and 24 degrees and the humidity level approaches 100%
These are ideal conditions for the development of bacteria
once a soaking vat or malting floor is empty
a cleaning team uses bleach to clean the room
beneath the malting floor and the grain conveyor systems
followed by rinsing with a high pressure jet before the installation is filled again
These operations are particularly essential for beneath the malting floor
to prevent the holes in the trays becoming blocked with barley grains since
with its 12 malting floors and two soaking vats
these rigorous manual cleaning procedures are conscientiously performed once every day
The work is not inconsiderable given the size of the malting floors: it takes between four to eight hours to clean each room
Workers are exposed to the hazards related to the use of diluted bleach
with a high risk of projection during the high pressure rinsing process and are also subject to many posture-related constraints in the confined spaces
They must wear chemical protection gloves and an overall
on top of which they don a helmet and a harness with a ventilation belt
To achieve the best possible match with the protection requirements of the production staff
DuPont Personal Protection went on-site at Vitry-le-François to gain precise knowledge of the chemical products used and to observe the real conditions in which the overalls are used
specified: "We want an item of clothing that is easy to put on and is sufficiently tear-resistant in the event of snagging; but the correct use of the overall also needs to be easily understood by the staff"
which provides contrast across a wide range of natural backgrounds to make the wearer more visible
Other colleagues agreed, observing that they found the Tychem® 4000 S easy to put on
lighter and more comfortable to wear than their previous protective workwear
The safety team was also particularly impressed with the coverall’s protective sleeves that stay in place much better due to the elasticated thumb loop at the wrist
The support Malteurop received from DuPont Protection Solutions did not stop at the selection of their preferred coverall: it also included advice about garment sizing and the adoption of best practice in their application
DuPont were also involved in training the teams to don the overall
carry out the cleaning and remove the overall
Production Manager Mélissa Chauvière observes: “We now have precise safety procedures in place to protect our workforce
both permanent and temporary staff undergo training on putting on and removing the protective garments
Every task is described on an instruction sheet which workers have to read before starting any cleaning.”
Véronique Coeffier concludes: “The support we received from DuPont has been a key driver to introducing a global approach to safety and involving the teams
We are really satisfied with the progress that has been made.”

In the climate legal case brought by 6 NGOs and 15 local authorities against TotalEnergies
the Paris Court of Appeal deemed the action admissible
The Court put an end to a procedural controversy that could have undermined the effectiveness of the French duty of vigilance law
This decision paved the way for the judicial examination of the case’s merits
the Court deemed the action brought by local authorities inadmissible
In January 2020, a coalition of NGOs and local authorities sued TotalEnergies (1)
joined later by the local authorities of Paris
The goal was to compel the oil company to take the necessary measures to align with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement
in accordance with the law on the duty of vigilance
In an order dated July 6, 2023, the pre-trial judge of the Paris judicial court declared the action inadmissible based on a disputed and worrying interpretation of the law on duty of vigilance
Yesterday’s decision paves the way for the first climate lawsuit against a multinational in France
the French multinational will now have to justify compliance with its legal obligations in the climate field
The Paris Judicial Court had ruled that TotalEnergies had not been duly served with formal notice
on the grounds that the demands made in the summons were not strictly identical to those in the formal notice sent to the multinational
the Court of Appeal found that TotalEnergies had been given sufficient notice before being served with the summons
It considered that the claims presented to the court had to be sufficiently related to the claims set out in the formal notice
it is up to the judge to assess whether a company has complied with its obligations under the duty of vigilance law as well as the measures requested by the plaintiffs
This decision puts an end to a restrictive interpretation of the law which
contrary to the legislator’s objective of facilitating access to justice for victims of human rights violations and environmental damage
The Court also deemed the claims based on the prevention of ecological damage admissible
the case can be grounded on both the duty of vigilance law and the provisions aimed at preventing ecological damage
The Court paves the way for a debate on the measures to be adopted by TotalEnergies to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions
the Court deemed the action brought by local authorities inadmissible on the basis that the existence of a particular harm or repercussion of global warming on their territory had not been sufficiently demonstrated
Only the city of Paris was recognised as having an interest in intervening (2)
This decision restricts access to justice in the climate field for local authorities
although it does not completely close the door to judicial action
The coalition will consider how the local authorities found inadmissible may remain involved in a landmark case that they have helped to build

In the ongoing climate litigation brought by 6 organisations and 15 local authorities against TotalEnergies
the Paris Court of Appeal will hold a crucial hearing tomorrow along with the EDF/Mexico and Suez/Chile cases
the case will be examined by a new chamber
In January 2020, a coalition of associations and local authorities (1) took TotalEnergies to court
Joined in September 2022 by three additional local authorities and Amnesty International France
the coalition requests the Court to order the oil company to take the necessary measures to comply with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement
in accordance with the law on duty of vigilance
which were also declared inadmissible on controversial procedural grounds
The Court of Appeal will rule on the admissibility of the judicial action
an essential step towards a decision on the merits of the case
highly awaited given the climate emergency
follows the landmark Dutch court ruling in the Shell case which highlighted the importance of judicial mechanisms in compelling multinationals to reduce their GHG emissions
The Paris Judicial Court ruled that TotalEnergies had not been duly served with a formal notice
using a lack of dialogue as a pretext for declaring the legal action inadmissible
the duty of vigilance law does not impose any mandatory “discussion” or “conciliation” phase between companies and the affected organisations or individuals before taking legal action
the pre-trial judge did not take into account the various exchanges between the coalition and the company’s directors prior to the formal notice
The appeal also concerns the interest of local authorities in taking legal action
which were deemed inadmissible by the court
Local authorities are yet on the front line of climate change consequences and related challenges such as adaptation and mitigation
Finally, the appeal questions the impartiality of this decision on inadmissibility, following the publication of information concerning possible family ties between the pre-trial judge and a senior TotalEnergies executive
The coalition remains fully committed to make sure that the impact of TotalEnergies’ activities on climate change can be finally judged
The date of the court decision will be announced at the end of the hearing

Can a modern revolution emanate from the political centre or
from the heart and mind of an aristocrat who places republican values above factional allegiance
This was the question that propelled me more than a hundred miles east of Paris – while another day of mass demonstrations unfolded in the capital and across France – to the post-industrial town of Vitry-le-François to meet Charles de Courson
the French parliamentarian descended from Norman nobility who nearly succeeded in bringing down the government of President Emmanuel Macron with a no-confidence vote on 20 March
The interparty revolt led by De Courson’s small group of nonaligned deputies in the National Assembly had been triggered by Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne’s invoking of Article 49.3
a frankly dictatorial clause in the constitution that permitted the government to impose an increase in the French retirement age from 62 to 64
rather than put it to a vote she almost certainly would have lost
‘Macron’s position on the retirement age works to the advantage of the extremes’
the grey and rainy day I interviewed De Courson in his fief
the 5th Assembly district in the department of the Marne
the decision by the Constitutional Council to validate the pension reform was still two weeks away
seemed reasonably happy with the outcome of his work so far
His staff had suggested lunch at Le Grillardin
where the only indication of De Courson’s recent fame was that we were placed by the front window
comfortably away from the din of a packed house
De Courson ordered the French equivalent of soul food
Even though the no-confidence vote had failed by nine votes
De Courson considered the close call a personal ‘victory’ because it had split the centre-right Les Républicains and summarily ended talks between its leader
and Borne that were aimed at enlarging Macron’s rickety governing co-alition

essential step towards developing H2 bois SA’s project at its Glovelier site (Jura County
essential step towards developing H2 bois SA’s project
The signing of this first contract brings discussions with H2 bois SA to a new concrete phase
The company was created by the Swiss Corbat Group
and its partners Planair and Romande Energie
to develop and operate projects for the production of hydrogen
this first contract is critical for H2 bois SA’s project of a biomass-based hydrogen
intended to meet the energy needs of local industrial consumers of fossil hydrogen and decarbonize mobility
Biomass is to be procured from the local wood industry
which is expected to be commissioned in July 2026
could represent a total order value for Haffner Energy that may reach up to €8.3 million
it is designed to produce 30 kg/h of hydrogen
The hydrogen produced at the plant will be distributed on site or removed for industrial and mobility applications
The electricity produced will be fed into the electricity grid
a by-product of the production of syngas (syngas) from which hydrogen is derived and a real carbon sink
will be used for compost enrichment and soil amendment
A land footprint already secured and pipeline to the H2 distribution site in construction
It was already made public that the distribution site is planned near the A16 motorway
It is located in an industrial area packed with established consumers of fossil hydrogen
The hydrogen will be transported there by a pipeline
its 1-km route crossing the new business park (ZAM 2) which is expected to welcome new companies consuming green hydrogen
On the date of the signing of this first contract
the building permit has been secured and the work related to the construction of the pipeline has begun
The start of production of green hydrogen in Marolles: a trigger for the signing of this first contract
As announced at the time of the half-year financial results
this technological milestone allows Haffner Energy to accelerate commercial discussions with various partners interested in its disruptive biomass thermolysis and gasification technologies
It was thus the trigger for finalising the signing of this first contract
which increases the company’s prospects in a promising hydrogen market despite its slow start
We are delighted to have reached this essential milestone with the Swiss companies Corbat
the production of mobility-grade hydrogen is proving to be a key catalyst
This shows that our Hynoca® technological process is delivering on its promises
which should be a game-changer for a hydrogen ecosystem that has yet to truly take off
We have been waiting for this for a long time
and the availability of the Marolles site finally allows us to produce super green hydrogen from solid biomass”
