2023 (AFP) - Paris Saint-Germain will be brought back down to earth following a lucrative friendly against Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia this week as they play a French Cup tie against an amateur village team from France's regional sixth tier on Monday
It may feel like a tired cliche to talk about the supposed magic of the Cup
but try telling that to US Pays de Cassel as they get to take on Kylian Mbappe
Their journey to reach the last 32 of the national knockout competition has in itself been remarkable
The club represents a handful of villages in the Flanders countryside
half an hour inland from the port of Dunkirk in France's far north
is perhaps best known in France for being voted the country's favourite village in a popular television show in 2018
The team had initially been handed a bye to this stage after being drawn in the last round against two clubs who were then kicked out of the competition
both from slightly higher up the league ladder
were disqualified after their tie in November was abandoned following a mass brawl which led to one of the coaches being taken to hospital
Wasquehal beat Reims Sainte-Anne on penalties when the tie was replayed
and they advanced to play Pays de Cassel last weekend
Pays de Cassel duly won in a shoot-out to take the significant scalp of a club from two tiers higher up
Their reward is a meeting with the mighty PSG
the Ligue 1 leaders and winners of the French Cup more times than anyone else
"It is a source of enormous joy for my young players and for the whole of Flanders
This match is historic," the Pays de Cassel president
they were not able to host the tie at their own ground and so the match will be played an hour away in Lens
home of the club currently sitting second in Ligue 1
30,000 tickets were snapped up in nine hours and so there is likely to be a full house at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis
where PSG lost to Lens in Ligue 1 earlier this month
The financial windfall means it is set to be a life-changing occasion for the club
as well as an unforgettable night for the players
"We are going to try to at least hold them until half-time or score a goal
but we will try and it would be magnificent," Vaesken added
Underlining the difference between the teams is the fact the game has been put back to Monday after PSG's squad travelled to Doha this week for 24 hours to please their Qatari owners
It's good to change our routine a bit," insisted the captain
ignoring the obvious concerns about undertaking such a trip in the middle of the season
They then flew to Riyadh for Thursday's friendly against a select side made up of players from Saudi rivals Al Nassr and Al Hilal and featuring Ronaldo -- a match for which PSG are set to pocket a fee of around 10 million euros ($10.8m)

Long-established woven fabrics leader anchors its presence in Hauts-de-France with the assistance of Monforts
Industrial
Dickson-Constant has recently opened its second brand new plant in northern France in response to growing demand for its range of well-known technical fabrics
New technology installed at the plant includes a highly-customised Monforts Montex 8500 stenter
with the specific lay-out of the line the result of a long collaboration between the German machine builder and the French sun protection and outdoor upholstery fabrics specialist
Dickson-Constant specialises in woven acrylic fabrics and has been part of Glen Raven since 1998
Its Dickson-branded solar protection and flooring materials and Sunbrella home upholstery and market-leading marine industry fabrics are renowned for their quality and durability
Representing a €40 million investment
builds on many of the proprietary practices and the processing know-how established over many decades at the company’s existing plant less than an hour’s drive away in Wasquehal
Located along the A2 motorway that links Paris and Brussels
Hordain has instant connections to Belgium
ensuring very quick deliveries throughout Europe
Various locations were considered for the plant prior to Hordain being chosen
and its selection has provided a significant boost to the region’s textile industry
In the absence of suitable technical textile training in the immediate vicinity of Hauts-de-France
Dickson-Constant has further created a training centre to fully train up its 75 new employees at the plant
in addition to other new textile technologists entering the industry
the new Hordain plant increases the company’s overall manufacturing capacity by 50% while providing the flexibility to accommodate more medium-sized orders and meet requests from certain customers for full exclusivity in respect of specific performance fabric ranges
The seven-chamber Montex stenter for drying
heat-setting and polymerizing applied resins has a maximum working width of 2.2 metres
It is installed in line with the washing compartments and is equipped with special entrance and exit fabric accumulators to enable non-stop processing during batch changes
in addition to an integrated vertical infrared dryer and exhaust air cleaning
Two Mahlo weft straighteners also ensure maximum regularity of fabric batches at strategic points in the line
“The line is very specific to our requirements
building on the experience of running our highly-efficient warping and weaving operations and the Montex stenter for many years in Wasquehal,” explained Dickson-Constant process manager Louis Masquelier
“The new plant in Hordain has a similar lay-out
since the Wasquehal plant is not set up to enable single runs of under 500 metres of fabric
“The service from Monforts engineers and its local partner Monel Industrie Services – with many technical discussions over the years – has been invaluable
and it has been a pleasure to work with them on this latest project
which involved many exploratory talks prior to the design of the line being decided on
and then throughout installation and commissioning.”
have the potential to cause a major bottleneck in operations
“We have also made considerable upgrades to the existing Montex stenter in Wasquehal
including upgrading the electrical components and inverters
as well as ensuring we have all spare parts in-house to ensure all our operations continue to run smoothly
Monforts and Monel have always provided us with prompt service when needed.”
Dickson-Constant develops all of its specialised coatings and finishes in-house
and a good example of its prowess in this field is in the latest development for advanced dirt-resistant woven flooring fabrics – the result of over three years of research
CleanGuard technology adds an invisible varnished overlay to the woven wear surface
delaying its soiling while enhancing its stain resistance and ease of maintenance
The layer of varnish is integrated directly into the finished product
The woven flooring system is made up of five distinct layers
each of which provides unique technical features such as a minimum sound absorption of 18 dB
a dimensional stability of less than 0.1% and an almost zero risk of fraying thanks to its monofilament construction
that also ensures a clean cut for quick and efficient fitting and a neat finish
“Sustainability is now paramount to our company and in addition to working towards ISO 50001 standards at both plants
our R&D team is currently focused on developing an oil repellency coating formulation that does not rely on flurocarbons
yet is as effective,” Masquelier said
“We have had a record year in 2022 but the energy situation in Europe is now causing some turbulence
have equipped us to maximise our resource savings and face the current market challenges with confidence
we have also invested in a water treatment plant allowing the plant to reuse 50% of its exhaust water

The Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris is devoting a major retrospective to Eugène Leroy
This exhibition brings together about one hundred and fifty works (paintings and graphic)
representative of the evolution of the artist's career
Although his oeuvre has long remained under the radar
Eugène Leroy is counted among the greatest artists of the twentieth century
It was only in 1988 that his first major Parisian exhibition was held right here at the Musée d'Art Moderne in these same ARC spaces
the output of this painter – who was born in Tourcoing in 1910 and died in 2000 – was equally based on the perception of the real and an ideal vision of painting
Partial to the old masters and willingly anachronistic
Eugène Leroy revisited traditional iconographic subjects such as nudes
highlights the complexity of a lengthy creative process and pictorial experimentation
For years Eugène Leroy juggled his painting activity with a career as a Latin and Greek teacher
he has made his mark as an artist in a category of his own
He exhibited his canvases in Paris in 1943
then participated in several iterations of the Salon de Mai in the 1950s
seeking to associate his painting with that of the great masters and hone the pictorial knowledge essential to his work
he moved into a small home-studio in Wasquehal
The Parisian gallery Claude Bernard exhibited his work in 1961
lt was on that occasion that the German painter Georg BaseIitz and the dealer Michael Werner discovered his work
A simple Dutch composition with an unheard-of accumulation of colors
] A heap of splattered sheet metal from a dovecote that enlightened me," wrote Baselitz
"the contribution of Eugène Leroy's oeuvre to twentieth century art is decisive because it bears witness to an incessantly reiterated combat of painting and image." Beyond its thickness - but also thanks to it - this painting creates a new pictorial language that is deeply rooted in the real without any concern for its legibility
Eugène Leroy sought to capture a truth about perception while preserving the emotion that makes it possible
"All I have ever tried to do in painting is reach [ ..
so that painting is totaIly itself," he stated in 1979
sometimes over the course of several years
until the quasi-disappearance of the subject
The difficulty of discerning at first glance the painted motif allows the viewer to linger aver the physical presence of the work
a projection forward across the present darkness of history," to borrow the poet Yves Bonnefoy's well-turned phrase about Rimbaud
Eugène Leroy's works are held in major public and private collections in France and abroad
acquired thanks to purchases and regular donations since 1988
the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris is now considered a reference place for the artist

À contre-jour is presented from 28 April to 2 October 2022 at the MUba Eugène Leroy in Tourcoing

Do you remember your first football shirt?A Zidane Juventus shirt
we went into a soccer store and my parents let me choose between a pair of shoes and a jersey
It was a Nice-Wasquehal match at the Stade du Ray
and I went with my brother Hugo and my father.
the way he connected with Steven Gerrard..
but strikers always attract more attention than defenders
As my brother Hugo soon joined the pro world
I don't really have a role model, but I do look at certain players more than others, especially left-sided central defenders like Chiellini and Dante
I'm trying to understand how he manages to last despite his age (laughs)
When I started out as a professional at Nice
Who's the most impressive opponent you've faced? The one with the biggest name is certainly Zlatan Ibrahimovic
we played a pre-season friendly against PSG and he was physically impressive
even if he wasn't at his best given the match
who unfortunately scored two hat-tricks against us
What's your favorite thing to do on the pitch
I don't have a huge range of skill moves (laughs).
What's your favorite of the goals you've scored
The one in the Normandy derby at Caen in Ligue 2 two years ago
The stadium was full and it was the opening goal
we got a big result in the sprint for the top (2-1 victory
What's the best atmosphere you've ever experienced
what do you pay attention to?I like to watch the first periods - and only the first periods - of games that are quite tactical
I analyze how defenders behave when the ball comes out or when they defend high against fast players
I try to pick up tips that might come in handy
Who's the teammate you get on best with?Arthur Desmas and Mathieu Gorgelin
but my father talked me out of it because there was already a goalkeeper in the family and it was too stressful for him
I was a handball goalkeeper for two years too
but at some point I had to choose between soccer
What job would you have done if you hadn't been a footballer
especially during the period when I was injured a lot
But the end of my career is slowly approaching
It's been my second sport for as long as I can remember
For the official version and so as not to offend him
we'll just say that it's generally disputed (laughs)
a sport that's fun to play with friends.
My fitness trainer Thomas Joubert has been calling me Franco Baresi or Beckenbauer for four years now
My brother had just signed for OL and I went to see one of his first training sessions
Mathieu put a free-kick into the top corner
we had this affinity because he had played with my older brother
so he was one of the old hands who helped me acclimatize in the pro group.
Would you prefer Los Angeles Galaxy or Los Angeles FC
The atmosphere is different from European soccer
I mainly went to see my brother and his little family
as I don't often get the chance to spend time with them

They got the job done against Wasquehal in the Coupe de France and then continued their great league form with a 2-0 home win over SC Bastia on Friday night
Hubert Fournier was relieved of his duties as head coach after the 2-1 defeat away at Gazelec. His assistant Bruno Genesio has taken control, and the recent signs have been very positive.
and even though Troyes are bottom of Ligue 1
starting life in their new stadium with a 4-1 win is the ideal way to warm up for this cup clash
PSG ran out 5-1 winners when they last met and Lyon failed to turn up
It will be a huge barometer of how much a difference Genesio has made in the short time he has been in charge
but PSG still start the tie as strong favourites
For the visitors, Maxime Gonalons and Claudio Beauvue missed Monday’s training session, via the official Lyon website (in French)
expect Jordan Ferri or Steed Malbranque to play in the centre of Lyon’s three-man midfield
Thiago Silva is likely to be rested on Wednesday after picking up a knock
with Marquinhos the obvious replacement in the heart of the defence
This game will also give Blanc an opportunity to return Javier Pastore to the starting XI—plus provide minutes to some of the less-used members of the squad
Lyon (4-3-3): Mathieu Gorgelin; Christophe Jallet
Jean Catuffe/Getty ImagesLyon were given a huge boost on Saturday when centre-back Samuel Umtiti was able to start against Troyes
but that was his first league game back since the 3-0 win over Saint-Etienne at the start of November
In the nine games that the France under-21 international missed
Les Gones had only conceded 14 games all season in comparison—highlighting just how important the 22-year-old is to how his club performs
Umtiti is a leader all over the pitch: commanding in the air
strong in the tackle and he also has the ability to bring the ball out of defence with confidence and composure
No matter what combination Blanc starts with on Wednesday
Umtiti will be taking on the best attack in France
It would be a shock to see them concede five with their best defender in the back line
Jean Catuffe/Getty ImagesIf Blanc decides to rest Angel Di Maria on Wednesday
it could give Brazilian Lucas Moura the chance to play on the right of the attack
That gives Genesio a difficult choice on the left of his defence
It’s not just the Brazilian’s space and dribbling ability that will cause problems
you need a defender with mobility and intelligence—a player able to track his runs and help communicate with the midfielders
and he may be the best option on Wednesday
and he is perhaps the better defensive option than someone like Henri Bedimo
The Cameroonian is great going forward and provides Lyon with strength in defence—however
he may not be the best at tracking the forward’s smart movement
One other possibility would be to play the versatile Tolisso in that position
but you then lose his presence in the midfield
but winning the battle in the middle of the park is just as important
but if you give Lucas too much space and let him run at your defence
he can provide moments of magic—at his best

Give Lance Armstrong credit for his predictive powers
Before he and Tour de France rivals embarked on a bumpy
Armstrong warned that two cobblestone patches on the course would likely mean spills and delays
a top threat to the Texan's bid for a record sixth Tour win
was one of seven riders who crashed and lost precious minutes on the ride from Waterloo
Armstrong had said the cobblestones -- last seen on a Tour course in 1985 -- could be disastrous
"Some people's Tour will be finished," he had said
and I'm not dumb enough to think that I couldn't be
Jean-Patrick Nazon of France won the stage after a final mad dash
but Robbie McEwen of Australia scored key bonus points for his sprinting prowess that handed him the overall leader's yellow jersey
Mayo's hopes of reaching the winner's podium on July 25 dwindled to next to nil as he dropped 3 minutes
"Iban had the bad luck to fall and lose time," said Julian Gorospe
sporting director for his Euskadi Euskaltel team
Mayo can still make up time in later mountain stages that are his specialty
and he risks losing yet more time to Armstrong in the team time trial on Wednesday
Italy's Ivan Basso and Spain's Roberto Heras
Mayo's setback came as dozens of riders nervously jockeyed for front position before the first bone-jarring cobblestones
hoping to avoid crashes and force others to eat their dust
Many riders reckon that crossing such dangerous patches at the head of the pack is the wisest strategy -- and Armstrong's US Postal Service teammates made sure he was at the front of the line
You have no friends except your teammates," said US Postal veteran George Hincapie
"We wanted to get to the cobblestone section first
The multi-rider pileup also brought down Credit Agricole's Thor Hushovd
who only a day earlier had become the first Norwegian ever to don the yellow jersey
The melee ended the Tour for Italian Marco Velo
who tumbled into a roadside ditch and broke a collarbone
Armstrong maintained a 15-second lead over Ullrich
27 seconds over Basso and 35 seconds in front of Heras
a former US Postal teammate who now leads his own squad
Wednesday's team time trial takes riders on a 64.5km jaunt from Cambrai to Arras
Armstrong's sporting director says his team is ready
"It's like a machine that always needs to run at the same speed," Johan Bruyneel said
it's well-oiled and he's very confident in the team."
She's dating the world's most famous cyclist and is happier than ever
but rocker Sheryl Crow admits she still has a bit to learn about his sport
The singer is attending her first Tour de France since striking up a relationship with Lance Armstrong last year
and plans to be by his side through much of the race
"This year has been a crash course for me -- learning what cycling's all about," Crow told AP
I have a lot of admiration for these riders."
"I didn't even know you clipped into bike pedals
So this is how much I knew about cycling," she said
Crow said she expects the 32-year-old Texan to succeed in his bid for an unprecedented sixth Tour victory -- and he doesn't seem to need any inspiration from her
But the Tour might offer her some during her year off from working
adding with a chuckle: "I guess I'm going to write a whole record about bike riding."
Armstrong said he appreciates Crow's efforts as a cyclist's girlfriend who will "do laundry and cook food
and do all of the things that wives or girlfriends do."
"Lance said it's hard for me to be a cycling girlfriend
acknowledging she never would have imagined becoming one
I've had so many incredible things happen to me and I would say that meeting Lance has definitely been the most incredible."
"It's changed my life and I'm happier than I have ever been."
Songwriters are apparently drawn to Armstrong
really," singer Ben Harper said in Waterloo
met Armstrong about three years ago after receiving a jersey the champion once wore in the Tour
"It's framed in my living room -- it's like the centerpiece to my house," Harper said
"If I could be as good in music as he is on the bike
Harper was on hand with his partner actress Laura Dern and his 7-year-old son Charles
and find their own comfort level with that," Harper said
Belgium's prime minister says politicians could learn a thing or two from cyclists
such as how to have character and courage," Guy Verhofstadt said

As Swansea City prepare to take on Sunderland
Sunderland were one of the founding members of the Football League in 1890
They have been English champions on six occasions and victorious in the FA Cup twice
the most recent of those successes coming in 1973 when they produced one of the great shocks in the competition's history by beating Don Revie's Leeds United 1-0 at Wembley Stadium
whilst plying their trade in the second tier of the English pyramid
After spending much of the current century occupying a place within the Premier League
recent times have seen Sunderland drop into League One for a four-year stint
Play-off success under Alex Neil ended that spell in the third tier and saw them return to the Championship
where Tony Mowbray continued their upward trajectory
but have already secured a top-six finish this season
The Black Cats have lost just one of their last seven games in the Championship
most recently playing out a goalless draw at Norwich City in midweek
which has seen them guarantee themselves a place in the play-offs at the end of the campaign
They have lost just once on home turf in the league this season
with that sole loss coming against Hull City in February
The Frenchman was appointed Sunderland boss in the summer of 2024
and he could hardly have wished for a better start to his time on Wearside
The 49-year-old was a defender during his playing days – and he was capped by France at youth level – as he featured for Rennes
Laval and Ronse before making the move into coaching
He held youth coaching roles with Wasquehal and Rennes
leading the latter’s under-19s to a national Championship before joining Lorient in 2012
There he guided the under-17s to championship success
while also helping bringing through the likes of Matteo Guendouzi and Illan Meslier
Le Bris moved up to first-team level in 2022 and led Lorient to a top-10 finish in Ligue 1 before departing the club in the wake of relegation at the end of last term
Luke O'Nien was handed the armband last season having put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at the Stadium of Light
The defender or defensive midfielder started his career in the youth ranks at Watford
making a solitary league appearance for the Hornets
while also having a short loan spell at Wealdstone
He joined Wycombe after a successful trial in 2015
and went on to help the Chairboys secure promotion to League One
He joined Sunderland at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season and has made over 300 appearances for the Black Cats
O'Nien helped them secure promotion from League One and EFL Trophy success in 2022
and made the step up to Championship level with a number of assured displays
Teenager Chris Rigg has been a revelation for the Black Cats since graduating to the senior ranks in January of 2023
Rigg first joined the Academy of Light when in primary school and worked his way through the ranks to make his first-team debut in an FA Cup third-round tie against Shrewsbury Town
At the time he was training with the first-team squad just a couple of days a week as he was still in school
He went on to become the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer when netting against Crewe in the Carabao Cup at the start of the following season when aged just 16 years and 51 days
It also made him the youngest scorer in the League Cup’s history
England age-grade international Rigg has shown maturity beyond his years and has become a Championship regular
adding to his fan favourite status with an audacious backheel finish against Middlesbrough earlier this season
Wilson Isidor is Sunderland's top scorer so far this season with 12 goals to his name
The French forward initially joined the Black Cats on loan from Zenit St Petersburg last summer
but that deal was made permanent in February following a string of eye-catching displays
His pace and work-rate has made him a nuisance for opposing defenders
and the mobility of Isidor and a number of other players has been a key part of Sunderland's gameplan
Having been on the books with Rennes as a youngster
Isidor made his senior debut with Monaco and spent four years with the club before making the move to Russia with Lokomotiv Moscow
His time in Moscow also included a loan spell with Zenit
and his season there included a treble as they won the Russian league title
the Russian Cup and the Russian Super Cup before he arrived on Wearside last summer
Northern Ireland international Trai Hume has been a near ever-present for Sunderland this season
impressing whether featuring on the right or left side of defence
had spells in the youth ranks with Ballymena United and Linfield and made his senior debut for the latter
He played in the Champions League and Europa League qualifying rounds before moving to Sunderland in January 2022
Hume helped the Black Cats achieve promotion from League One later that year
and featured regularly in the Championship as they got to the play-offs the following season
He has remained an integral figure ever since
and has been one of a number of players to thrive under Regis Le Bris with Hume having three goals and six assists this term

As Swansea City welcome Sunderland to the Swansea.com Stadium
but have started the new campaign strongly
The Black Cats have lost one of the previous 13 Championship following their midweek clash with Bristol City
They will have been frustrated that seven of those games ended in draws
but they are firmly in the promotion picture as the festive period approaches
The Frenchman was appointed Sunderland boss in the summer
He joined Sunderland at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season and has made over 280 appearances for the Black Cats
Jobe Bellingham is forging a successful career of his own while brother Jude takes all the headlines with Real Madrid and England
Bellingham came through the academy ranks with Birmingham City and would make his senior debut when aged just 16 during the 2021-22 season
A scholarship and a first professional deal followed and he made 22 league appearances in the 2022-23 campaign before making the move to Sunderland for an undisclosed fee
He went on to make 47 appearances in all competitions in a challenging season for the Black Cats

The Black Cats have started the season strongly, winning four out of five league games, and sit in second place in the Sky Bet Championship.
Their first victory came on the opening day when they triumphed 2-0 against Cardiff City. In their most recent fixture, Sunderland were beaten 3-2 by Plymouth Argyle.
The Black Cats will be looking to improve on their 16th-place finish last season. This is the club’s third season back in the Championship since earning promotion from League One in 2022.
Regis Le Bris became head coach of Sunderland in the summer.
The Frenchman started his coaching career as a youth coach for Wasquehal before joining Rennes' youth team as a coach.
As head coach of the Under-19s, he won the league title in 2007 and the Coupe Gambardella the following year.
In 2012, Le Bris made the move to Lorient, where he was head of youth development as well as U17 coach. He then made the step up to become manager of Lorient’s reserve team and in 2022 was promoted to head coach of Lorient’s first-team.
In his first season, he guided his side to a 10th place finish in the league, but the 2023/24 campaign saw his side relegated and the end of his time at the club. He was then appointed as Sunderland’s head coach.
Dan Neil is a key man for Sunderland, having come through the Academy at his hometown club. The midfielder was appointed team captain ahead of the 2024/25 season and picked up four goals and five assists for the Black Cats last season.
Another player to keep an eye out for is Jobe Bellingham, who has featured in every game so far this season.
In-form players Romaine Mundle and Eliezer Mayenda are also names to keep an eye out for, with Mundle registering three goals and Mayenda two so far this season.
Last season saw Michael Carrick’s side put four past Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, winning 4-0. The teams played out a 1-1 draw in the return fixture at the Riverside, with Marcus Forss getting his name on the scoresheet.
Boro have won seven of the last 10 meetings between the sides.

British cyclist Sean Yates pictured during the sixth stage of the Tour de France cycling race in Wasquehal in July 1988
Sean Yates abruptly quit cycling after 30 years of involvement both as rider and latterly as a team director when Team Sky announced on Sunday he was retiring
The 52-year-old Englishman — who as a rider won stages on the Tour de France and the Tour of Spain — leaves after a three year sojourn and which saw the team enjoy a stunning season with the highlight Bradley Wiggins winning the Tour de France
Yates had been one of the rare members of the cycling fraternity to defend disgraced American Lance Armstrong after he had all seven of his Tour de France titles stripped from him last Monday by the International Cycling Union over systematic doping
Yates had ridden alongside Armstrong at the Motorola team in the 1990′s prior to the Texan being struck down with testicular cancer but also a spell when two of his team-mates testified that Armstrong decided to take banned products
Yates said in the time he worked with Armstrong at the Discovery Team — the Englishman was sporting director at a time when the USADA report stated that systematic drug-taking was going on inside the outfit — which included his last win in the Tour de France in 2005 he never saw him do anything illegal
“It’s all pretty damning for Lance and the whole history of his seven Tour wins
and beyond,” he told BBC Radio earlier this month
(I’m shocked) at the depth of the whole system
I worked with Lance but never had any indication this practice was going on…it is disappointing,” he said
and before then I was working with another team
and I never saw an indication of anything dodgy going on
were at pains to say that Yates’s sudden departure had nothing to do with their position on anti-doping
wherein the management team started a series of individual interviews with riders
“Sean has been interviewed and there were no admissions or disclosures that would have required him to leave the team,” read the statement of the team
Team Sky supremo Dave Brailsford showered Yates with praise
“Sean joined us in our first year and has been with us for three tough but rewarding seasons
“After a long career in professional cycling
“Sean has been a great support to the riders on the road and a valuable colleague to us all
We wish him the best for the next step in his life.”
