from Dark Horse Comics the gory origin story of the titular young ‘Patra the vicious killer desperately seeking her out This first issue kicks off as many slashers do with a missing girl seemingly spared from the massacre a mysterious doctor who knows a bit too much and a glaring supernatural presence emanating from both the killer and his target ‘Patra #1 leaves a mystery to unravel as the police discover the horrid crime scene our murderer left behind The narrative is broken into two voices and places one being ‘Patra herself who finds herself alone in the woods This man’s journal acts as the second narrative voice While I wish some of the exposition had been discovered perhaps a bit later in the story The split in the story does wonders for establishing both the confusion ‘Petra is feeling as she stumbles through the woods and showing the reader the true threat and capacity for violence our antagonist has as the police uncover the horror he has left in his wake and while you certainly don’t root for him it isn’t hard to comprehend how he became the monster he is As someone familiar with Kolins’ works I had to make sure ‘Patra was indeed one of his creations I’ve known his typical style as one with limited shadows and very tight line work which leaves his art feeling very “clean.” None of that is present in ‘Patra with color that escapes the lines and pops vividly especially when portraying blood ‘Patra and the killer are both the biggest examples of this as they seem to be styled more brutally than the other characters allowing them to embody the emotions they feel palpably The lettering from Campbell also showcases the characters well Two specific highlights would be the inner monologue from ‘Patra often filling the page with small incomplete thoughts she is having whose inner monologue and exposition fills large chunks of expository yet concise thoughts ‘Patra #1 is a mystery thriller to its core ‘Patra herself has yet to do much of anything in the first issue and the villain steals the spotlight I am excited to see where the next three issues take her Four individuals have been arrested in connection with Friday morning’s fatal accident at Powered by THINKCEPT \"GMFB\" debates if it's a big deal that the Dallas Cowboys trading for quarterback Joe Milton III from the New England Patriots Kevin Patra grades the most significant NFL trades of the 2025 offseason OFFENSE: Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Offensive line DEFENSE: Defensive line | Linebacker | Cornerback | Safety The value for Milton is undoubtedly better than what the Cowboys surrendered two years ago for 41 Trey Lance passes The second-year Milton is an extremely high-variance quarterback at this stage In the preseason and a Week 18 start as a rookie Milton flashed a big arm and a propensity for splash plays Yet there is a ways to go for his game to be regular-season caliber.  I like the gamble for the Cowboys, who needed a backup to Dak Prescott and can offer Milton offseason reps where New England could not A simple late-round pick swap allows Dallas to nab a young passer with upside without fully spending a selection surely teams will spend Day 3 picks on developmental QBs The Cowboys got theirs with a 46-pick drop to the seventh round.  Questions remain about whether Milton can be a trustworthy backup if Prescott goes down with another injury Milton will make the Cowboys' preseason action wildly more entertaining and even that small slice of seeming irrelevance is a positive on the grading scale.  For New England, Milton was clearly the odd man out, with Drake Maye entrenched as the starter and veteran Josh Dobbs brought in as the backup Not only was Milton's path to playing time closed off but he also wouldn't have gotten enough reps to aid his development There was also the questionable fit with Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels' plans.  The low compensation highlighted that the market for Milton wasn't significant -- teams likely viewed the Week 18 appearance as a mirage Getting something for a player that they had no plans to retain past final cuts is better than nothing I am surprised the Pats didn't hang onto the asset a tad longer to see if they could milk anything better than a 46-slot leap able to win at the line of scrimmage and fearless under pressure Those are superpowers that can allow him to continue flourishing even as he creeps up in age The 34-year-old stood in under massive interior pressure last season in Seattle in an environment where worse QBs would have crumbled and a new deal with Vegas has yet to come to fruition That could further color how this transaction looks in the coming months The addition doesn't change the reality that there is still no long-term plan under center but it will serve as insurance if all the top signal-callers are once more off the board when the Raiders select I've already said my piece about the Seahawks essentially swapping Smith for a mid-round pick to get younger and cheaper under center but until Seattle's offensive line is fixed NFL Network's Omar Ruiz furthers his position on why Seattle Seahawks wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdez-Scantling are able to \"line up on any given play from any given position\" A year ago Philly acquired Kenny Pickett from Pittsburgh in exchange for a pick swap (2024 third-round pick for a fourth-rounder) and two 2025 seven-rounders Howie Roseman flipped Pickett for a fifth-round choice and another backup quarterback Pickett played fine in limited work for Philly before injuries opened the door for Tanner McKee" data-link="/players/tanner-mckee/" data-slug="tanner-mckee">Tanner McKee to show off in the regular-season finale should finally get a legit shot to be the backup Getting a pick and a wild-card quarterback for superfluous is good work in my book I assume that, still holding 10 draft picks after the trade Andrew Berry was OK with handing one out in exchange for a placeholder quarterback he's still no closer to solving the decades-long problem under center in Cleveland The Vikings took a sixth-rounder netted in the Ed Ingram" data-link="/players/ed-ingram/" data-slug="ed-ingram">Ed Ingram trade (see below) and shipped it (while also completing a pick swap) to San Francisco for a backup running back a two-year deal worth a max value of $12 million I'm slightly surprised that the Vikings didn't prefer waiting and adding a rookie instead of taking on salary and giving up a future pick But Mason proved he's a good stand-in when called upon and if he improves at pass protection in Year 2 Kyle Shanahan has proven he can find RBs for his scheme pretty much anywhere so this trade makes sense as a way to trim expenses who showed big-time flashes down the stretch as a rookie He won't be blocked by costlier teammates from the jump in Year 2 Metcalf's ability to create big plays is something the Steelers lacked in recent years. Pairing him with George Pickens" data-link="/players/george-pickens/" data-slug="george-pickens">George Pickens gives them two field-stretchers who could be a menace to secondaries -- assuming the Steelers don't trade Pickens himself at some point this offseason The duo will force clubs into lighter-box formations to avoid getting burned deep which should open up coordinator Arthur Smith's running game Metcalf's massive new deal (four years, $132 million) ensures he'll be in Pittsburgh for the long haul making it more likely that Pickens' time there -- he is entering the final year of his rookie contract -- has an expiration date Giving up a second-rounder plus committing to serious money takes the Steelers' grade down a peg but finally landing a big fish in Pittsburgh is a positive Now the team needs to figure out who will get him the ball the Seahawks presumably didn't want to extend Metcalf at his desired dollar amount I understand not wanting to pay through the nose for a player who is Pro Bowl caliber but not quite All-Pro what Metcalf landed from the Steelers is becoming the going rate It's undeniable that Seattle was better with DK than sans DK John Schneider needs to nail his draft picks Watch the best plays made by wide receiver DK Metcalf in his career so far which was set to pay him $15.5 million in 2025 The 28-year-old is coming off two down seasons generating just 379 yards and one touchdown in eight games in 2024 If he can stay on the field and get back to even three-quarters of his 2022 level (84 catches I don't hate the dice roll for a player in the final year of his contract The Jags got something for a player they were about to cut so I can't give them too high a grade here Given his injury history and production over the last two years it made sense that Jacksonville's brass would move on swiftly and it could cost more if an extension comes down the pike but these are the types of swings clubs on the up-slope should take And I don't expect the 30-year-old to fall off a cliff The next phase is to use the picks from the Tunsil trade to strengthen the group for the long haul In a world where few linemen become available Poles did well to use his assets to immediately upgrade the weakest link of his club so moving on from a 32-year-old a year early makes sense it is still a gamble for a squad that just won the AFC title to rely on youngsters The last time Kansas City got whooped in a Super Bowl Brett Veach completely revamped the offensive line Former offensive lineman Kyle Long wakes up with \"GMFB\" and breaks down the Chicago Bears 2025 free agency moves Jonah Jackson's familiarity with Ben Johnson after spending the first four years of his career with the coach in Detroit is a huge bonus to his acquisition given the style of play Johnson wants to bring to Chicago There is a reason the Rams shelled out $51 million on a three-year deal last offseason to add the guard Injuries have persisted for the 28-year-old missing time with a shoulder injury and then being benched and he hasn't played 16-plus games since 2021 Jackson is still young enough to bounce back but injuries usually become more of an issue with age particularly for someone with his physical style It's also surprising that the Bears were willing to take on all the remaining dollars on Jackson's deal, even handing him a one-year extension through 2027 I would have figured Chicago would've shaved some money off the top by adding a pick For a team that has missed on previous iterations of the offensive line securing a proven vet that you know will fit in Johnson's scheme is a smart start The Rams get docked for giving out a big deal they apparently immediately regretted but completely shedding the player and money while snaring a Day 3 selection is a solid turnabout I'm not sure the Texans are improving, but at least they're making moves. Again, it's not as if they could get worse than they were on the O-line last year. They seem to be taking the "toss a bunch of players at the problem and see who sticks" approach. Houston essentially swapped out its own disappointment, Kenyon Green" data-link="/players/kenyon-green/" data-slug="kenyon-green">Kenyon Green (dealt to Philadelphia A former second-round pick, Ingram started 41 games over three seasons in Minnesota. In 2024, he was eventually benched for Dalton Risner" data-link="/players/dalton-risner/" data-slug="dalton-risner">Dalton Risner It was evident at that point the Ingram experience was over in Minneapolis Kwesi Adofo-Mensah did well in getting even a modicum of capital back With the addition of Laken Tomlinson" data-link="/players/laken-tomlinson/" data-slug="laken-tomlinson">Laken Tomlinson and presence of 2023 second-rounder Juice Scruggs" data-link="/players/juice-scruggs/" data-slug="juice-scruggs">Juice Scruggs in Houston Ingram profiles as a potential backup guard for the Texans It's a flier addition for a team scouring for answers after a disastrous year up front scooping up a low-cost former second-rounder makes sense Maybe Ingram can turn it around in new surroundings The NFL is littered with linemen who never panned out so don't bet on it -- but at least the Texans are trying We're back to another player who was bound to be released the Saints gave up a final-round pick two drafts from now which is about as low a non-pick-swap return as you can get for a player Davon Godchaux had some productive years early in his career but dipped last year and wasn't a fit in the new scheme in New England Getting younger and more flexible up front made sense for the Pats I don't hate the fit in New Orleans under new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. Godchaux reportedly taking a slight contract shave as part of the deal also helps and Godchaux certainly aids a run defense that needs gap stuffers The 30-year-old won't add much in the way of pass rush but can plug the hole and has a plus tackle rate for a nose The Cowboys won't spend in free agency but were comfortable taking on a linebacker with a $7.66 million cap hit is an innings eater with 67 career starts and 416 total tackles Given the Cowboys' struggles against the run you'd have thought players they'd chase this offseason would excel but Murray has been below-average as a run-defender Dallas certainly needed aid in the middle of the defense with DeMarvion Overshown's injury it didn't cost much draft capital and Murray is just 26 with a lot of experience I'd be more excited if Murray had a history with Matt Eberflus The low trade cost suggests that the Titans were planning on moving on from the linebacker so kudos to the front office for getting something even if it was just moving up 51 draft spots near the end of the selection process Dallas lost Jourdan Lewis in free agency and responded by taking a swing at a former first-round pick who had worn out his welcome in Buffalo long ago. Kaiir Elam never looked comfortable in Sean McDermott's scheme, immediately getting bypassed by sixth-round draftmate Christian Benford In three seasons, Elam generated a +23.5 target EPA with a +10.6 completion percentage over expected (CPOE) allowed (negatives are better for corners). When forced into duty in games where McDermott needed to play more man (i.e., against Patrick Mahomes) This trade was about two years in the making in Buffalo and the light asset recoup shouldn't be a surprise for a first-round pick who played just 533 coverage snaps over five years in Matt Eberflus' scheme -- another zone-heavy one -- Elam can find a stride and become the player scouts projected during the draft process It's a cheap play but isn't a surefire answer to Dallas' corner questions heading toward the draft Houston gave up a struggling lineman who'd been injured/benched in exchange for a starting safety who can bring attitude to DeMeco Ryans' secondary. A former first-rounder, Kenyon Green was either hurt or highly ineffective. There was no coming back in Houston. Moving him for a starter with plus attributes to replace Eric Murray C.J. Gardner-Johnson provides multifaceted ability to the Texans' secondary alongside Calen Bullock and Jalen Pitre near the line and -- if needed -- at nickel fits nicely in Ryans' D That he brings attitude to the AFC South adds some pizzazz the justifying scuttle surrounding CJGJ in Philadelphia was that the safety missed too many tackles and gave up big plays for the Super Bowl champion defense The Eagles will miss his physical style as they lean into youngsters The move did give Howie Roseman his latest first-round reclamation project in Green to O-line guru Jeff Stoutland and hope he works magic again Chad Reuter identifies 16 rookies picked during Rounds 4-7 of the 2025 NFL Draft who could be in line for starter snaps in Year 1 Which first-year pros will take advantage of potential opportunities for playing time Did the Raiders knock the 2025 NFL Draft out of the park with a class led by Ashton Jeanty How good can Colston Loveland be in Ben Johnson's offense in Chicago Bucky Brooks identifies 10 perfect player-team fits coming out of the 2025 NFL Draft Which teams are in position to receive extra draft capital next year Lance Zierlein provides his 2026 NFL Draft compensatory pick projections for every squad The 2025 NFL Draft came and went without the Miami Dolphins trading Jalen Ramsey but that doesn't mean a deal won't happen in the future NFL.com's Nick Shook examines potential landing spots for the seven-time Pro Bowl CB The highest remaining player on Gregg Rosenthal's Top 101 free agents list is veteran wideout Amari Cooper NFL.com senior news writer Kevin Patra offers up seven potential landing spots With the 2025 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror WRs and TEs to present his top 150 flex options for the upcoming fantasy football season Where do Ashton Jeanty and Travis Hunter land Will Josh Allen's Bills once again get the best Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs in the regular season Can Sam Darnold lead the Seahawks over his former team Kevin Patra ranks his top 10 matchups of the 2025 NFL season While we wait for the 2025 NFL schedule to be unveiled later this month NFL.com analysts debate which team they'd want to see face the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles in the NFL Kickoff Game Will fifth-rounder Jaydon Blue prove the Cowboys were smart to wait on an RB Can seventh-rounder Quinn Ewers help Miami -- on the field or as a potential trade asset Chad Reuter lists his favorite picks from each round of the 2025 NFL Draft Eric Edholm runs through the entire league in a fresh batch of Power Rankings Chad Reuter reveals his final snap grades for all 32 teams based on their decisions from each day of the 2025 NFL Draft The Cleveland Browns select Colorado Buffaloes quarterback in Round 5 of the 2025 NFL Draft with the No 144 overall pick (via a trade with the Seattle Seahawks) Shedeur Sanders' draft saga finally ended on Saturday in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft 144 overall to select the Colorado quarterback 166 and 192 overall to Seattle for the rights to the selection The Browns and the entire league continually passed on Sanders amid discussions about his play and concerns about off-field distractions. Cleveland passed on the Colorado QB six times, including drafting fellow rookie signal-caller Dillon Gabriel in the third round on Friday night they moved up in the fifth round to stop Sanders' draft weekend slide "Nothing really affected me the last couple of days," Sanders told reporters on Saturday there wasn't too much negativity being said I know I gotta clean up some things in my game for me to be at my best but that's what I take each offseason one at a time and fix it coach (Kevin) Stefanski and (general manager Andrew) Berry that they are right to be able to come in there and do what I need to do." In addition to drafting Gabriel ahead of Sanders, the Browns also passed on the Colorado product in the fourth round when they took running back Dylan Sampson at No A two-year starter at Colorado after transferring from Jackson State when his father Sanders stood tall behind a sieve offensive line the signal-caller tossed 7,364 yards and 64 touchdowns 134 touchdowns to 27 interceptions and a 70.1 completion percentage Sanders completed a career-high 74% of 477 pass attempts for 4,134 yards with 37 TD tosses and 10 INTs becoming a second-team All-American and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year The son of one of the greatest players in NFL history, Shedeur Sanders, was one of the most hotly debated prospects in the entire 2025 class Those debates were magnified as a potential early-round pick plummeted into Day 3 First Draft: Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders Berry noted that ownership didn't pressure the front office into selecting Sanders "Jimmy (Haslam) lets us do our job," he said The 23-year-old's production during college was undeniable A strong base and polished mechanics give Sanders a solid pocket foundation and he displays subtle pocket movement to buy time Those are traits the best NFL signal-callers own Sanders doesn't offer a high upside entering the NFL He's neither an explosive athlete nor fleet of foot He has a knack for holding the ball too long taking sacks instead of living to see the next play which could get him into trouble with tighter NFL windows Sanders might not possess high-upside talent but there are zero questions about his toughness and competitive drive He'll need to show that competitive drive in Cleveland as his draft status ensures nothing will be handed to him "Message is come in and work," Berry said on Saturday We told him it really doesn't matter where you're picked "I know I'm going to fit in perfectly," Sanders said So they could actually understand the real me is the opportunity for people to actually see the real me and not be able to see stuff that could be true or not." Sanders will have a chance to prove his doubters wrong it'll likely be at the QB table again next year Pickett and Flacco and prove his backers right How Stefanski balances QB reps this offseason will be fascinating The battle for those snaps will start at rookie minicamp in May The Browns spent the offseason tossing darts at the board in an effort to find a starter after the Watson debacle they made their most high-profile move by selecting Sanders James Robinson and Scott Kolins team up for 'Patra a new horror comic book series "about slasher monsters and cult movie-inspired horror." With the first issue available from Dark Horse Comics this August I caught up with James Robinson to learn more about the origins of this series and to get a tease of what's to come for "One Innocent Girl.. I'm very excited to have gotten a tease of 'Patra #1 and I can't wait to read more Can you tell me about the origins of this series and what made you feel this was a great first series for your new collaboration with Dark Horse the timing that ‘Patra is the first of my series with Dark Horse was somewhat happenstance I’ve been away from comics for a while with TV and prose but I wanted to return and in a way that I felt mattered to me on a truly personal level By this I mean that after many years with DC and Marvel my own original ideas had been left in a bottom drawer for too long So I set about contacting various artists who had always impressed me and who I’d wanted to work with or who I’d enjoyed working with in the past Scott was keen to get a project started and was the most readily available at the onset as other artists finished up projects and commitments He had already gotten some of the idea for ‘Patra this is definitely as much Scott’s idea as mine I added enough in terms of plot and the overall direction of the story and character it quickly became ours and we ended up with ‘Patra coming out of the gate first Can you talk a bit about your process with Scott Kolins to design the characters and this world The character designs are incredible and the overall look of the series is unique and eye-catching this idea began as something Scott had thought up a while back The story and plot were definitely an amalgam of our different aesthetics and approaches to storytelling Scott has also added more line and hatching to his art which makes his style still familiar to anyone who’s followed him since his days on The Flash but new and fresh at the same time made into even more of a new side to Scott Kolins by his coloring which definitely add another fresh layer to the look What can you tell us about this young girl named ‘Patra and can you tease what she faces over the course of the series When we first meet ‘Patra she’s a scared girl who doesn’t understand the situation she’s in All she knows is that when she’s in danger a mask appears on her face and a knife in her hand That in itself is enough for a scared little girl with no memory but then there’s also the escaped maniac who wants to kill her I’m loath to reveal too much as there are twists and surprises along the way for her and the reader I can say that she emerges from her scared unsure shell to be the hero she needs to be in order to take on the unhinged killer (loosely based on Michael Myers from Halloween) who is the threat of ‘Patra’s first arc I will also say that by the end of the first arc there are many revelations about ‘Patra and other characters around her I read that this story is in the tradition of 80s slasher films What are some of your favorite slasher movies although if I had to pick a few I’d have to say…  The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a masterpiece and the remake from 2003 is beautiful do you have plans to tell more stories in the world of 'Patra Scott and I have 6 arcs planned; each arc’s “slasher” will be loosely based on one of the classic movie killers of yore we hope to keep adding to the lore of ‘Patra "A young girl named ‘Patra wakes up with no memory of her past All she knows is that a big knife and a horrific mask appear whenever she’s in danger who is slaughtering families in a small mid-western town Join us for a new series as one brave little girl faces both monstrous dangers and mysterious secrets in this homage to the classic horror movies of yore Celebrated scribe James Robinson and artist Scott Kolins bring a new slasher horror series to Dark Horse!" BJP Northeast in-charge and Member of Parliament Dr Sambit Patra arrived at Imphal Airport today for a crucial visit to Manipur amid growing calls within the state unit for a change in leadership Sambit Patra is expected to hold a key meeting with BJP legislators from Manipur following a recent appeal by 21 party MLAs to the central leadership in New Delhi to consider forming a new BJP-led government in the state Patra’s visit aims to engage legislators once again on the possibility of establishing a new government under fresh leadership His trip comes against the backdrop of prolonged political uncertainty in Manipur which has been under President’s Rule since February 13 Despite mounting pressure from within the state unit citing the fragile situation in Manipur since ethnic violence erupted on May 3 Cleveland Browns defensive end Za'Darius Smith locks down Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson on a big-time sack The final week for NFL teams to make trades this season is upon us clubs were given additional time to evaluate their standing as buyers or sellers have been reticent to make significant in-season changes when front offices basically refused to take action The best teams aren't afraid to move and shake If the back-to-back Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs let's look at a few trade fits that could make sense for all parties I'm still not convinced the Bengals will be sellers despite a dismal start to the season. It's simply not how they usually operate. However, Hendrickson did make a contract-driven trade request in the offseason and perhaps Cincy will make a move now rather than risk going through a similar situation heading into the final year of Hendrickson's deal in 2025 If Raiders star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby is truly off the table Detroit presumably has institutional knowledge of the player given that head coach Dan Campbell and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn were both part of the staff in New Orleans during Hendrickson's time with the Saints (2017-2020) He plays with the type of motor Campbell loves and would fit in the locker room With seven sacks and 36 QB pressures so far this season Hendrickson has continued to be a weapon on the edge The Lions have the overall talent to reach mid-January without making a move Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson twirls New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones to the turf for his fourth sack of the 2024 NFL regular season Smith is 32 but still has punch off the edge (he has five sacks so far this season) and his size against the run would help fortify a Ravens defense that can't stop a nosebleed of late On Sunday, Houston tried to bench left guard Kenyon Green, taking him out for a series, but his replacement, Jarrett Patterson How about trading for a potential solution After spending nine seasons in New Orleans playing just 36 offensive snaps this season The 30-year-old brings versatility as a left guard and can play tackle Another option for Houston could be Evan Neal, a 2022 first-round pick by the New York Giants who hasn't played an offensive snap in 2024. If the Texans view the 'Bama product as a potential guard, he might be worth a flier. Benched Bears guard Nate Davis is another possibility the offensive line does not offer teams with a lot of great trade options But standing pat and watching Stroud take shot after shot is dangerous to Houston's future particularly from the kind of big-bodied field stretcher he lost with Evans' injury Williams wouldn't replace Evans -- no one would. But he could be the boundary weapon that Mayfield and the Bucs currently lack. It's of little surprise that in the week after losing Evans and Chris Godwin Mayfield's yards-per-attempt figure fell to 6.6 his second-lowest of the season (ahead of only the anomalous loss to Denver) 1 overall pick has been impressive in Tampa but dinking-and-dunking isn't where he's at his best He needs a pass-catcher who can open the offense and land bombs Moving on from Williams before the deadline makes too much sense for the 2-6 Jets Watch highlights from the Week 8 matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins during the 2024 NFL season The 49ers could use some help on both sides of the ball, but with Diontae Johnson – who might have been an ideal short-term sub for Brandon Aiyuk -- off the table Ojulari has been a sensation in the three weeks since Kayvon Thibodeaux went down with an injury and his 14 percent pressure rate is excellent The 24-year-old would pair well opposite Bosa and help keep Floyd fresh for the stretch run The Giants sit in last place in the NFC East, and their season is on the brink. They have money tied up in Brian Burns and Thibodeaux and Ojulari is set to hit the free agency market in the spring Big Blue should get what they can for the young pass rusher now rather than wait until the spring The Falcons' limp pass rush is an eyesore that they need to fix if they're to make a deep postseason run So let's bring back a familiar face to help He's generated 16 QB pressures and two sacks His pressure rate of 12.2 percent is better than anyone on the Falcons with at least 100 rushes (Judon currently paces Atlanta with a rate of 7.9 percent) With the 2-5 Dolphins sinking toward the bottom of the ocean they should be motivated sellers at the deadline particularly when it comes to veterans headed for free agency in the near term When Campbell signed in Atlanta last season, he did so believing the Falcons were poised to be a playoff contender Perhaps he can return to make that vision come true in 2024 The Commanders are flying high following Jayden Daniels' ridiculous game-winning Hail Mary on Sunday Now's not the time for GM Adam Peters to sit still Assuming he follows the blueprint established by the 49ers -- with whom Peters spent the past seven seasons -- Washington should be in the market to add an ancillary piece or two before the deadline The Commanders' secondary has played better as the season has gone along but it wouldn't hurt to bring in an upgrade particularly given Dan Quinn's pervasive use of DB-heavy personnel The Patriots have signaled their willingness to sell ahead of the deadline The 31-year-old veteran would bring savvy to the back end of the Commanders' defense Daniels' stupendous play has helped turn Washington's resurgence into one of the stories of 2024 The Commanders should lean into their quick turnaround under Quinn by making moves at the deadline to strengthen the defense ahead of the stretch run Quessenberry allowed six pressures and half a sack in 14 pass-block plays back-to-back losses showed some weaknesses The issue could become backbreaking for Darnold if not fixed EDITOR'S UPDATE: The Vikings are adding a new left tackle NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported after this post was published that Minnesota will acquire Cam Robinson in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for draft pick compensation the Vikings will receive a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick which could disappear based on playing time while the Jaguars will get a 2026 fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-rounder based on playing time Watch the best plays from Denver Broncos' quarterback Bo Nix's 4-touchdown game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season Early in the 2024 season, Jayden Daniels opened up a yawning gap in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race the size of the Grand Canyon The Washington Commanders quarterback performed so impeccably that he was on one side of the gorge and the rest of the rookie class was foraging on the other Then Bo Nix made a move. And Daniels' stumbles against Pittsburgh and Philadelphia -- two excellent defenses -- opened the door for the Denver QB whose odds of winning the award jumped up this week (+300) It still might take an Indiana Jones-esque leap for Nix to actually cross the canyon and threaten Daniels' claim but the way the Broncos signal-caller has shined in recent weeks makes it a possibility I'll add one caveat: It wasn't Nix's most impressive performance coming on two uncovered targets and two WR screens that Atlanta defended as if it had never seen the concept before he added the stats to garner proper attention Perhaps the best compliment I can give Nix is that he's a rookie currently acing his 300-level course the signal-caller has been an extension of Payton He's winning before the snap with regularity; he appears to knows who should be open and gets it out quickly with his pinpoint accuracy allowing him to spray all three levels It's the kind of precision Denver hasn't seen from a quarterback since Peyton Manning retired It is truly impressive how Nix turned things around after an awful first few weeks. His first three career interceptions were painfully poor decisions Far too many had written him off after the first month But with a sturdy defense and a Super Bowl-winning tutor in Payton Nix has flipped that failing grade on its head He's a force multiplier for an offense he's guiding with aplomb can avoid pressure and make defenses pay with his legs and his quick flick can get the ball to his receiver in a hiccup Since April, Payton made it obvious he believed Nix had the tools and makeup to shine in his scheme. It took time, but now it's clear to the world. I'm not positive Nix would thrive in another system with another coach, but he looks born to play under Payton -- both schematically and mentally There are sure to be more valleys ahead as the Broncos attempt to cling to a playoff spot but after years of cycling through quarterbacks like a puppy goes through chew toys Where would I put Nix and Daniels in the chase for rookie hardware right now And what about the top first-year pros on the other side of the ball check out my top five candidates for OROY and DROY as we near the stretch run of the 2024 NFL season NOTE: The odds presented below are provided by DraftKings After that glowing intro, it might surprise some that I still have Daniels as my leader for Offensive Rookie of the Year. My reasoning is simple: The depth of dominance still favors the Commanders' signal-caller. Yes, Daniels' play has dipped for two weeks, but that was partially because of the defenses faced. The other issue: He played through a rib injury that has surely affected the play-calling Daniels has been less dynamic with his legs in recent weeks as defenses key on that part of his game and coordinator Kliff Kingsbury appears to consciously try to protect the QB the door for Nix might have gone from shut to ajar -- per Pro Football Focus Nix has splashed 12 big-time throws to Daniels' 11 while both QBs have recorded six turnover-worthy plays leading to a turnover-worthy play rate of 1.6 percent for Daniels and 1.5 percent for Nix -- but it's not been kicked wide open yet Daniels has generated 67.1 total EPA and 0.18 EPA per dropback Nix has one game with more than a 0.10 EPA per dropback (Sunday against Atlanta with a high of 0.68 in the win over Cincinnati Daniels has produced a negative EPA per dropback just twice Recency bias shouldn't make us forget that Daniels led an offense that didn't punt for more than two complete games His downtrodden franchise was facing a ton of question marks entering the season His calmness in the pocket has been otherworldly and he's helping overcome a defense that has clear holes It's worth noting that the top two players on this list were able to work up a ton of college experience thanks partly to COVID-19-related eligibility extensions Nix started 61 games in college and Daniels started 55 You can see it in each player's maturity and coolness under pressure The fact that Bowers is already the most productive tight end of 2024 despite working with a shaky QB situation underscores the immense talent of the Georgia product Watch the best catches from Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers' first 100-yard game during Week 11 of the 2024 season Maye won't have the numbers or team success to inch up this board but it's impossible to watch the Patriots and not come away feeling like Eliot Wolf hit on the QB Through just seven appearances (six starts) his stats aren't anything to write home about -- he's put up a 66.8 percent completion rate with 1,236 yards when you actually watch more than highlights He avoids pressure well and isn't afraid to stand in and take a hit to deliver a pass He connects on at least one jaw-dropping throw per game the end-of-game interceptions show he's got strides to make His ability to develop each week despite the dismal surroundings is remarkable. Lesser talents (SEE: Daniel Jones) sink behind the kind of porous blocking that Maye has dealt with That he doesn't blink says a lot about his potential the fewest among all centers with at least 200 pass-blocking snaps Odds: +220 | Drafted: Round 1 We live in a world where QB disruptors get the edge when it comes to glory this award will probably go to the pass rusher I've ranked below Mitchell But what's the point of all this if we never go out on a limb Mitchell has been an absolute stud this season and he's been a true lock-down force since the Eagles' Week 5 bye Michell hasn't allowed more than 25 receiving yards as the nearest defender Mitchell currently doesn't have a pick to his name but if he can nab a couple of INTs down the stretch Maybe a few big plays in prime time -- while the Eagles soar into the postseason -- will prompt enough attention for the corner that he's able to steal the award Odds: -200 | Drafted: Round 1 More likely than the above scenario is Verse running away with the award as he continues to be a monster in the trenches making offensive linemen look like rag dolls the linebacker has generated 50 QB pressures but he ranks third in the NFL (among those with a minimum of 200 pass-rush snaps) in QB pressures and pressure rate His 17 quick pressures are tied for ninth in the NFL To get a sense of why Verse seems like such a heavy favorite at this point consider how his numbers stack up with recent pass rushers to be named the DROY (stats for each player through Week 11 of their rookie season): ODDS: +1400 | Drafted: Round 2 General manager Howie Roseman's rookie corners are showing out DeJean entered the Eagles' starting lineup in Week 6 and his presence completely transformed Vic Fangio's defense now Philly boasts a physical force who isn't afraid to step up versus the run shows the instincts to feel where the play is flowing and has the athleticism needed to stick with the shifty receivers lined up across from him DeJean has allowed just 6.4 yards per catch on 25 receptions Miami Dolphins linebacker Chop Robinson's second sack of 2024 brings an end to Rams' second drive. Odds: +4000 | Drafted: Round 4, No. 124 Five 15-year-old students have been arrested in Patra, western Greece, for allegedly injuring a 13-year-old classmate during an internet challenge that went wrong. A sixth suspect, also 15, has been identified in connection with the incident. The teenagers are facing charges of causing bodily harm. Authorities have also filed a case against a teacher at the school for allegedly failing to properly supervise the students. According to police, the arrests followed a complaint filed by a parent after the incident, which took place last Friday morning during a school break at a middle school in Patra. The six students were allegedly part of a group of nine who, as part of a so-called “challenge,” lifted the 13-year-old into the air and then dropped him, causing him to hit his head and sustain serious cranial injuries. Police stated that the teacher was responsible for supervising the students at the time of the incident. become inseparable from who she is Patra recalled drawing inspiration from her real-life situationship in writing and producing this song tentative opening which is very tone-heavy I wanted that to feel like how it is when you’re in a ‘will they and you almost feel like you’re running out of time and the person it’s written about knows that it’s written about them I might even have sent the first line of the song as a text to them And I think everyone should send this song to their situationship.”  “Aftercare” is admittedly an interesting choice for a song title Reflecting on what “Aftercare” means to her Patra references her lyrics in ruminating on “what comes after?” “It is inevitably the question that weighs on my mind but it’s also the question that nobody wants to answer But if you’re in a situation with such blurred boundaries you can’t necessarily ask them to care after.”  I was curious about the entire production process of the song as well as the time it took for the song to come to completion and was surprised to find that it all happened within the span of a month or so – specifically literally locked up in the attic of his house for 3 weeks trying to figure out production through trial and error We wanted to figure out how to get the song to sound professional or as professional as we could get it to sound.”  the entire song was also conceptualized and written within this short frame of time Patra talks candidly about her songwriting process stating “I’m constantly going through some kind of emotional turmoil or mental break I wrote a good chunk of the song on the Oxford Tube back from London – I have this book and every time I have ideas I will write something down in there.”  When asked about the people she did it with Patra mentioned “These guys – they’re such a big part of it who does production and also deals with all the communications and contacts who’s this amazing photographer and graphic designer.” adding that she’s really “fortunate that (she) enjoys their company anyway.” While starting something so exciting with your close friends is a dream for many Patra also admits that “it can be really difficult navigating a friend-colleague relationship” though she adds “we only started this project because we trust ourselves that we’re smart and dedicated enough to put all our effort into it”.  “Working with them has taught me bounds and bounds of things But above all it’s taught me – and I know this sounds corny – how to be less scared of sharing parts of myself with others.” Because songwriting is such a personal process to her Patra recalls having to share her “deepest fears and anxieties” with people she “didn’t really know at the time”.  “I think this whole process has taught me to take myself less seriously I think we all get way too in our heads about these things and so many people have come up to me being like ‘why is this so relatable’ So I’m glad I wrote about this topic in a song.”  Besides writing and releasing her own music Patra is heavily involved in the music scene in Oxford herself performing in two bands – We Should Sleep More and Dot’s Funk Odyssey “Being around such amazing musicians all the time is really cool to me It’s very inspiring when I see people who’ve been so good at their craft Patra admits “I’m not putting all my eggs in one basket and we’re going to run this like a business We are going to put our full effort into it for an amount of time and really take it seriously and see where it’s going.”  My brain is like a tornado – there’s so many things going around in it and there will never be something that I don’t want to talk about or put into songwriting Patra reflects on her own experiences throughout her life and how they seep into the music she writes: “My inspiration for my songs come from loads of things like me having moved abroad at a young age which is a genre in the UK and something I only learned after moving here but it’s also very much a delineation of my move here because it wouldn’t have been possible without me coming to the UK but I also think it captures how it feels for me growing up in two different places.”  my conversation with Patra felt like a love letter to the one thing she was so passionate to discuss – music She tells me about her fascination with different genres of music and the reluctance to limit herself to just one: “I like jazz There will be elements of me in every song – I might not be the most technically trained singer So whether I put more jazz influences into it my songs will always have elements of me in them.”  music also acts as a “lifeline” for her: “Whenever I experience emotions in extreme whether I’m particularly happy or particularly sad I think that if I didn’t have my book to whip out and write about it And that’s kind of what music has become now for me.”  it just feels like the easiest thing in the world.”  May 2 (PTI) The BJP on Friday accused the Congress of
