The Wombats have wrapped up a UK and Europe tour with a new visual identity powered by the first touring deployment of the VLHive 151 Digital FX lighting fixture from Vari-Lite originators of the modern moving head lighting fixture and a Signify (Euronext: LIGHT) entertainment lighting brand The show has been designed by lighting designer Rosie Haigh who is also Vari-Lite Business Development Manager at Signify textural approach that brings the band’s latest album who’s worked with the band for over two years while still delivering rich depth and high-impact visuals upstage Haigh harnessed the creative power of the VLHive 151 – a fully digital lighting fixture that merges high-output light and digital image projection into a single compact unit evenly spaced upstage of a custom-made backdrop comprising sections of black gauze and used as a rear projection surface textured backdrop – echoing the giant furry eye motif from The Wombats’ latest album cover “The VLHive offers a new way to bring dimension and movement to scenic elements.,” explained Haigh “I’m able to use the fixture as a high output traditional light source providing still and animated textures and imagery that support the stories and themes of the songs.” The VLHive 151 is Vari-Lite’s newest innovation A digital FX powerhouse that combines 151 emitters and media server–like capabilities inside a moving head fixture Designers can manipulate up to 140 shapes and 100 animations and colour control without the need for additional gear in addition to the broad set of built-in shapes and animations Haigh has created numerous immersive narratives that delivered bold digital text cues including “1 Go!” and “Say No” rear projected across the gauze Haigh also created layered scenes on a physical backdrop that include a blinking digital eyeball with animation achieved using the VLHive’s all digital shutters Haigh paired the VLHive units with Vari-Lite VL2600 and VL3600 fixtures while the VLHive projected the visual centerpiece upstage Haigh says the VLHive is straightforward to control Plus the fixture only demands 84 DMX channels which is wild given how much you can do with it.” Haigh’s response to the VLHive has been enthusiastic: “I’ve got a long list of creative experiments I want to try Designers will be excited to know this is a tool that evolves so Vari-Lite can easily implement new ideas from the field This tour gave me a great opportunity to test the fixture’s creative potential yet I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface.” As The Wombats gear up for a packed summer of festival appearances the VLHive 151 will be proving its value in real-world touring conditions the debut is just the beginning: “I’m excited to show other designers what the VLHive can do and to hear their ideas This fixture is an asset to any lighting creative’s toolbox -whether it’s touring www.vari-lite.com We are using cookies to give you the best experience on our website You can find out more electric standing desk disassembled(Image credit: Tom's Guide) Besides being one of the first standing desks I reviewed the Vari Electric Standing Desk has remained one of my favorites even after all these years I consider it the best overall because of how incredibly easy it is to put together while also being extremely simple to use There are no gimmicks or unnecessary features here this is a reliable and sturdy standing desk that you can use for years without any issues which makes it a sound investment for your home office Unlike other desks that require a power drill or additional tools the Vari Electric Standing Desk can be assembled in 15 minutes — no really — using only the included hex key Its keypad features four height presets which are easy to program and since this is a dual-motor standing desk You aren’t weighed down with too many choices while configuring this desk too and you get a real wood desktop without having to pay extra If you told me I could get an electric standing desk for just over $100 back when I started reviewing them with the Fezibo Electric Standing Desk you can it’s not as elegant as some of the other desks on this guide and a few compromises certainly had to be made at this price but if you’re building out a home office on a budget So what do you get for the price of a decent webcam The Fezibo Electric Standing Desk features three programmable height presets grommets at the back for easier cable management and even a pair of headphone hooks It’s also available in several colors and sizes even the largest 60-inch version still comes in at under $200 and Fezibo doesn’t charge extra for different color options that might be a better fit for your space Back when I first wanted to try out a standing desk you really can try one out for yourself before making a significant investment this is a single-motor standing desk so it won’t adjust as quickly or as quietly as a dual motor one it’s hard to argue with the lack of dual motors I guarantee you too will be surprised by what the Fezibo Electric Standing Desk offers for a lot less than the competition Read our full Fezibo Electric Standing Desk review (Image credit: Branch Duo Standing Desk An elegant highly customizable standing desk well suited for even the smallest workspacesOur expert review: Finding a standing desk that fits comfortably in a smaller home office doesn't mean sacrificing style or features That’s why I recommend this desk for any home office since it comes in three different sizes and the smallest configuration is just 3 feet wide The Branch Duo is also a sleek-looking desk you can get in a variety of color options to match the rest of your home office decor all of Branch’s optional accessories come in the same colors to perfectly match your desk One thing that really stood out to me about the Branch Duo back when I reviewed it is that this is a frameless desk Instead of having a bulky frame running across the middle Branch specifically left it out to make room for its optional under-desk drawer cable management tray and other accessories Another thing that’s different about this desk is that it uses a paddle-style controller with an OLED screen instead of a keypad You simply lift it up or lower it down to change the Duo’s height but it also has built-in reminders to encourage you to stand dual-motor standing desk and with Branch’s slew of optional accessories you can really maximize your desk’s storage capacity The control paddle is fun and easy to use but it is limited to just two programmable height presets if you’re working out of a small home office you don’t have to sacrifice features and usability to get a desk that won’t overload your space Just be sure to save some room in your budget for all the accessories as Branch makes some cool and really useful ones Read our full Branch Duo Sanding Desk review When looking for one of the best office chairs it’s easy to find models tailored to taller individuals but up until I reviewed the FlexiSpot E7 Plus I couldn’t say the same for standing desks this one is available with two different frame options Both can lift a substantial 440 pounds thanks to their incredibly sturdy four-legged design making either option ideal for heavy-duty desk setups with a big desktop PC and multiple monitors the extended height frame I tested raises all the way up to 51.6 inches even someone as tall as Shaq could comfortably use this desk while standing with good posture The E7 Plus has such a wide range of movement thanks to its 3-stage legs but FlexiSpot doesn’t stop there as it also offers different customization options besides these two frames You can get this standing desk with a curved front edge for better ergonomics drawers on top for storage and there’s even a dedicated gaming version with a smoother desktop if you’re a taller user or need a desk that can handle a very heavy setup the FlexiSpot E7 Plus is an excellent choice Read our full FlexiSpot E7 Plus review For those with lots of gear and other work from home accessories a standard desk just might not cut it when it comes to available workspace That’s where the Vari L-Shape Electric Standing Desk can help It has a similar design and the same solid build quality as Vari’s other desks but adds an extra leg and desktop for even more desk space Besides the standard L-shaped version we reviewed there’s even a larger 80 x 80 inch version if you want to have the work area of two desks in one this one also has a contoured front edge which acts like a built-in wrist rest It’s also just as quiet and adjusts as quickly as Vari’s standard electric desk thanks to its powerful tri-motor design (one for each leg) Putting the Vari L-Shape desk together is simple too and you can do so without any extra tools assembly was a bit more challenging as this is a very large standing desk after all with more pieces One thing worth noting is that this desk does have a lower max weight limit but even with a fully loaded desk setup and a printer If you have the budget and the space for it the Vari L-Shape desk is the perfect upgrade for those who want a standing desk with a huge work surface Read our full Vari L-Shape Electric Standing Desk review Managing all the cables that come with a complicated desk setup can be a tedious and time-consuming process but that definitely isn’t the case with the Autonomous SmartDesk 5 Pro Not only does it have a cable management system underneath its desktop with integrated power it drops down and then can be securely reattached once you're done plugging things in Though this is the desk’s standout feature Autonomous definitely didn’t skimp out on the desk’s other features it has an incredibly smooth HDF desktop with a rounded edge and a control pad that’s built in The SmartDesk 5 Pro’s rounded legs give it a more premium look and their C-shaped design give you plenty of leg room with loads of stability Autonomous also throws in a set of headphone hooks and a magnetic cable clip so that you can run the desk’s power cable down one of the legs instead of having it dangle from the middle of the desk The SmartDesk 5 Pro is one of the most impressive looking desks I’ve reviewed but it isn’t without its downsides it’s only available in one size and a 55-inch wide desk likely won’t work in every home office though it does come with a power strip mounted inside its cable management tray you only have two usable outlets after plugging in the desk if you’re looking for a sturdy standing desk with an eye-catching design and integrated power the SmartDesk 5 Pro definitely punches above its weight for the price Read our full Autonomous SmartDesk 5 Pro review This electric standing desk is just as customizable as the Uplift V2 but you will need to purchase accessories like the cable tray pegboard panel and cable spine separately in one of NorthDay’s bundles This is worth doing though as these accessories add a lot of extra storage and allow you to fully customize this desk to your liking like with the Vari Curve Electric Standing Desk Read our full EverDesk Max review IKEA Trotten (★★★★☆) The IKEA Trotten is by no means a bad standing desk but it is a manual one and we’ve chosen to prioritize electric standing desks for this guide This means that instead of pushing a button you need to manually turn a crank to adjust its height which can get tiring real fast If you are in the market for a manual standing desk I’d suggest you take a look at pneumatic ones instead as you just need to lift them or push them down to adjust their height Read our full IKEA Trotten review FlexiSpot EC1 (★★★★☆) Read our full FlexiSpot EC1 review IKEA Bekant Standing Desk (★★★☆☆) - The IKEA Bekant is a nice looking standing desk that we think costs a bit too much for what you get its keypad is quite basic with only an up and down button and its cable management tray is made out of mesh instead of metal if you’re a fan of that IKEA look and want to get all of your home office furniture in one trip to the store Read our full IKEA Bekant Standing Desk review Although the best standing desks share many similarities there are a few factors that you should consider before buying one which I'll go into more detail below Getting the right standing desk for your space and needs the first time will be a lot easier than building one finding out it isn't for you and then having to return it Pretty much every standing desk can be ordered in a variety of materials a veneer of wood overtop a core — tend to be the least expensive mahogany or some other wood type will cost more the greater potential there is for it to wobble or fall over especially if there are a lot of heavy items on it it’s worth checking out a standing desk in person raising it to its maximum height and then rocking it back and forth to see how it manages Also keep in mind that a desk with four legs will be more stable than one with just two This is the range with which the standing desk’s height can be raised or lowered Most will fall between 25 inches to around 50 inches; better desks will have a wider range though the difference will usually only be a few inches on either end If you’re planning to use your standing desk to hold more than just your computer — maybe you want to sit on it — then you’ll want to pay attention to its maximum supported weight less expensive desks won’t be able to hold as much weight as more expensive models When it comes to putting together a standing desk all you need is a screwdriver and a little patience All of the models I've tested came with the requisite screws some desks are easier to put together than others and most — especially those with larger tops — will require a second person to help How much work do you want to put into raising and lowering your standing desk The vast majority of standing desks are motorized meaning all you have to do is press a button to change the height of the desk if you want to save some money — and you don't plan on moving the desk much — then you might want to check out a manual standing desk Many of these desks have a hand crank that you'll have to turn You won't need arms like Arnold Schwarzenegger there are also pneumatic standing desks that you only need to lift the desktop up or push it down to adjust their height They're slightly more expensive but I think they're certainly worth it in the long run To determine which standing desks are the best I called in the top models as well as a few budget-friendly options I then went through the process of assembling them noting how long it took to put each one together how easy the instructions were to follow and if any extra tools were required for assembly I then test their stability by raising them to their maximum height and rocking them back and forth take note of how smoothly they go up and down and see whether or not they can be raised and lowered with a full cup of coffee without spilling a drop I also evaluate each desk based on aesthetics as after all your new desk should look nice in your home office since many standing desks can be configured with different surfaces from laminate to hardwood tops I also take into account how customizable each desk is when determining its final rating While the standing desks I test differ when it comes to features and design I try and configure them to best match each other so I can compare how much each would cost if it were the same as the others For more information on how Tom's Guide rates and reviews, check out our how we test page Deciding between a standing desk and one of the best desks can be hard but even if you don’t plan on standing while you work there are still a number of benefits to owning a standing desk One of the main reasons you’d consider investing in a standing desk in the first place is ergonomics and this is one area where they really excel you can make small adjustments to the height of your standing desk to ensure that your keyboard is at the right height as is your laptop’s screen or monitor especially with cables going every which way Standing desks have a reputation of offering better cable management than traditional desks since many of them come with cable management trays you can always add a cable management tray to any desk but the fact that your standing desk needs to be able to move up and down gives you more incentive to have your cables neatly tucked away you can always lift your desk up so that it’s easier to manage all of your cables and you can’t do this with a traditional desk Another thing that separates standing desks from traditional desks is their build quality Since standing desks are designed to move up and down frequently while supporting a lot of weight all without wobbling even at their highest setting This is quite different from the wooden legs you’ll find on many office desks You can’t go wrong either way but with a standing desk you always have the option to stand up if you want to you’ll need to buy a standing desk converter to do so and considering how much these can cost you’re better off putting that money into a new standing desk instead If you're thinking about investing in an electric standing desk there's one feature you absolutely shouldn't overlook: the motor or motors While you can find some great budget options they do come with one major downside that you might not even realize until you're putting your new desk together Many less expensive standing desks only have a single motor that's used to lift them up these types of electric standing desks are easy to spot as they usually have a cylinder next to one of their legs This cylinder is actually the motor and a tension rod extends from it to the other leg so that both legs can lift and lower simultaneously. Not only does this make the assembly process more difficult but in my experience single motor electric standing desks are much noisier than their dual-motor counterparts This cylinder also gives single motor standing desks a less elegant look This makes putting your desk together a lot easier Dual-motor standing desks are also a lot quieter and you don't have to worry about the tension rod coming loose over time If you’re thinking of upgrading to a standing desk then you may have come across standing desk converters during your research a standing desk converter allows you to work while standing or sitting with plenty of room for a laptop monitor and any other accessories you may need you don’t have to replace your existing desk For those who work in an office or even if you’re a student in a dorm a standing desk converter may be a better choice as most companies and colleges don’t want you replacing their furniture Standing desk converters are also more portable which means you could technically pack one in the back of your car and bring it to and from work or school Although standing desk converters are usually cheaper than buying a standing desk outright they can still get quite expensive and cost anywhere between $100 to $400 dollars Another downside is that if you find out you don’t really like standing while working your standing desk converter becomes a giant paperweight you’re better off putting that money into a nice standing desk or even a budget one and then upgrading later on After a new round of testing, our picks remain the same. However, we’ve added a couple of new desks that are worth considering if you’re on a tight budget or care a lot about cable management No matter how great your office chair is you’re not doing your body any favors by sitting in it for the whole day But being on your feet constantly isn’t good for your comfort or health height-adjustable standing desk provides the best of both worlds Push a button to raise the desk so you can move a little while working Feel like leaning back in your chair for some deep focus time This is the most customizable desk we’ve ever tested, and it works for a wide range of heights (people between 5-foot-4 and 6-foot-9). Because you can set it around 3 inches lower than competing desks, the V2-Commercial can better fit people who are shorter than 5-foot-4. This desk works well for small spaces, and it has a height-adjustment range that’s ideal for people between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-5. But the controls aren’t intuitive, and they have limited preset options. Inclusive height rangesWe selected desks with frames that fit people under 5-foot-4 (the average height of US women), as well as those suited to taller people. Long-term reliability and supportSince good desks are a big investment, we think they should come with excellent, fast customer service and at least a five-year warranty. Ample customizationYour workspace is highly personal, and that includes your desk. So we looked for models that offered lots of customization options. Purchase experience and assemblyWe favored desks with 30-day refunds (at least), free return shipping, and assembly that’s no more challenging than for IKEA furniture. and it works for a wide range of heights (people between 5-foot-4 and 6-foot-9) Because you can set it around 3 inches lower than competing desks the V2-Commercial can better fit people who are shorter than 5-foot-4 It responds quickly to control-pad input (from your choice of five keypad designs) We found the Uplift V2’s walnut laminate to be attractive and realistic and panelists loved the look of the 1-inch curved bamboo desktop including several unusual but expensive wood tops You can also choose from four frame colors and it has a height-adjustment range that’s ideal for people between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-5 36-by-24-inch desktop that works well for small spaces But the Branch Duo has only five laminate finishes and it doesn’t offer nearly as many customizable features as our Uplift pick The control paddle can also be clunky to use and it can’t accommodate more than two presets which may be an issue in multi-user households or offices Kaitlyn Wells is a senior staff writer covering the intersection of home office She’s been working from home in some capacity for over a decade and understands the value of a great home-office setup Many people spend a majority of the workday sitting at a desk They also sit while driving or taking public transportation But the flip side is also true. Standing for too long can lead to degenerative joint damage, muscle injury, and circulatory diseases, such as venous disorders, increased stroke risk, and carotid atherosclerosis. So fixed-height standing-desk setups—including many DIY versions—aren’t ideal either if you’re spending long hours working at them That’s where a height-adjustable standing desk (also known as a sit-stand desk) comes in You can quickly raise or lower your desk to alternate between sitting and standing throughout the workday In addition to letting you switch between sitting and standing (with the health benefits that potentially brings) a great standing desk is simply the most customizable and ergonomically friendly kind you can buy If you find the standard desk height of 29 to 30 inches to be too high or too low you can raise or lower the desk so you’re able to sit more ergonomically You can program different heights for different tasks or even for whether or not you’re wearing shoes And as your energy and focus wax and wane throughout the day depending on whatever makes you feel more productive After years of using and testing standing desks we’ve focused our criteria on the following features: Other considerations that are nice extras (but not absolute must-haves) include: nearly three-dozen people (measuring from 4-foot-10 to 6-foot-9) explored They used each desk in both sitting and standing positions and they noted in feedback surveys the overall quality Below we list how our picks’ features compare Because these desks are highly configurable we’ve included the lowest starting price for each the price as tested with a 48-inch laminate top and the price for a desk with a 60-inch bamboo desktop Prices are rounded and are current as of April 2025; they do not include any discounts or sale prices This is the most customizable desk we’ve ever tested and it has far more customization options than any competitor And this desk is more than stable enough for everyday use which has a frame that goes lower but costs about $80 more which could be an issue for people who like to stretch their long legs under the desk the V2-Commercial is as customizable as the V2 and is slightly more stable than its sibling at tall heights It’s not the most stable desk we’ve tested the Uplift V2 is stable at all heights—unless you tend to pound heavily on your keyboard or your walls tend to shake due to passing trains In testing the Uplift V2 against other desks in the Wirecutter office we found the V2 to be slightly more wobbly from front to back than our other picks especially set at heights of 40 inches and above perhaps noticeable only when you’re a tech journalist assigned to shake desks side by side The Uplift V2 adjusts its height smoothly and quietly albeit with a whistling sound that’s more high-pitched than the other desks’ lower When we raised this desk from its lowest height to its highest it was a second or two faster than the other models what mattered most to our testers was that the V2 seemed easier to reliably raise and lower to a precise height than competing desks The Uplift V2’s keypad was the best of the bunch We also tested the advanced “comfort” keypad which adds four memory positions and a velvety touch to the keys for an extra $30 at this writing We recommend that everyone upgrade to this more-flexible keypad over the standard basic keypad (which goes up and down only and doesn’t store favorite heights) since it provides four memory presets for different sitting and standing profiles The Uplift V2’s many desktop finishes look great—even the laminates Panelists preferred the Uplift V2’s inch-thick bamboo desktop over other desks’ similar tops particularly when it was configured with a curved front (for an additional $10) was fairly resistant to unsightly smudging You can customize it to suit your space and tastes Besides the vast array of desktop options—31 at this writing including stunning and expensive solid wood—the V2 desk has many frame and accessory options so you can customize your desk when you order Desks come with a cable-management tray and your choice of four free accessories No other standing desk we looked at offered this level of customization Uplift offers some weird and wonderful add-ons If you order a desk that’s 72 inches or wider you can even choose a hammock as one of your six included free add-ons It attaches with carabiners to the frame of the desk so you can lie or sit (cross-legged) underneath your desk while it’s raised for as long as he could stand the self-conscious weirdness of it all Other testers found the hammock surprisingly comfortable You can also get extras such as a rocking board (for more-active standing) We’ve tested all of the most popular standing desk mats and found the Ergodriven Topo offered the best comfort and support while encouraging movement I've had the Uplift V2 for four years now to the point [where] we had to stand on it to get to the top of a window and I love the [cross] bar that it has — I pretty much use it as a footrest when sitting I’m 5-foot-3 and able to get it to the perfect height when I stand owner of the Uplift V2 Commercial since 2020 But it doesn’t offer nearly as many customizable features as the Uplift and there’s no option to upgrade to an advanced keypad Many testers liked the overall look and feel of the wood grain laminate desktop They also said the two-tier lifting column was stable and they noted that it ran smoothly during height adjustments The Duo’s 10-year warranty and 275-pound lift capacity offer added peace of mind regarding its long-term durability This is the smallest standing desk we recommend It comes in a 36-by-24-inch model that works well for small spaces 48-by-24 inch model.) The smallest Uplift model we recommend is sold in a 42-by-30 inch desktop This desk (probably) works best for taller people The Branch Duo’s desktop height can be adjusted from 28 to 47.5 inches and it is ideal for people who are between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-5 a wide range of panelists—from 5 feet tall to 6-foot-9—were able to find comfortable sit-stand settings This reminded us once again that an ideal ergonomic setup can vary widely based on your leg and torso lengths a tester who uses an electric wheelchair felt they could adjust the desk to heights that worked both for their taller electric wheelchair and the shorter manual wheelchair they have at home The programmable keypad isn’t as intuitive as those of our other picks Our panelists had mixed reactions to the control paddle; it requires users to lift or press down to adjust the height While some enjoyed the simplicity of “lifting” the paddle to lift the desk most didn’t like using its menu screen and found it frustrating to use The paddle’s side profile buttons cycle through presets and reminders but there’s no way to go back if you accidentally make the wrong selection you have to cycle through the entire menu again It’s unlikely you’ll share this desk with a partner or roommate The Branch Duo can be programmed with only two height settings while our Uplift and Herman Miller desks with optional programmable keypads can store four different heights We prefer four height settings so that two people can have personalized sitting and standing presets The anti-collision feature works—but there’s an obvious flaw Many desks we’ve tested have subpar anti-collision technology and faulty sensors so we were pleased when this feature actually worked on the Branch Duo But since this standing desk can go down to only 28 inches The desk also descended another ¼ to ⅕ inch past our bodies while we were seated applying an uncomfortable amount of pressure on our thighs We fear that a kid who quickly dives under the moving standing desk could get their fingers pinched in the lifting column or get a bump on the head To figure out how tall a desk should be when you’re sitting, furniture retailer Wayfair recommends dividing your height in inches by 2.5 We found that this guideline is fairly accurate can accommodate those who are 5-foot-4 and above people have different torso and leg lengths you can multiply your height in inches by 0.6 to get a close approximation of how high you’d need a standing desk to go These desks should accommodate people who are over 6 feet tall (and as tall as 7 feet for the Uplift V2 and the Vari) We’ve researched more than a dozen inexpensive standing desks and we found that their seemingly reasonable price tags of $200 to $500 were invariably accompanied by major flaws budget-priced standing desks are made with lower-quality materials and are harder to assemble than the slightly pricier models we recommend several lacked predrilled holes to ensure accurate assembly and long-term stability most desks in this price range have tabletops made of split particle board That’s because it’s easier for manufacturers to ship the entire desk in a single box this way these budget desks can hold only up to 150 pounds (sometimes including the tabletop’s weight) compared with the 300-pound-average weight limits of our picks the split tops and low weight limits make budget standing desks less stable than our picks Budget standing desks often have narrower adjustable height ranges than our picks These budget desks also offer subpar warranties ranging from one to three years and they’re more expensive on a year-by-year basis compared with our picks that have 15-year warranties many of the cheapest standing desks aren’t motorized They need someone to manually adjust the desk’s height with a hand crank making them inaccessible to people with mobility issues or limb differences If you’re on a budget and aren’t ready to commit to one of our picks, you’re better off opting for a standing desk converter These tabletop desks offer more stability and a better height-adjustment range than any budget standing desk we found All that being said, if you absolutely, positively must have a standing desk, and you’re on a strict budget, the FlexiSpot EN1 is the best ultra-cheap option we’ve tested Just be aware that you’d give up the higher-quality materials and stability at standing height that you’d get from our picks The Detroit Desk comes with a 20-year warranty and has a 22.5- to 48.5-inch height range it barely budged when forcefully shoved in all directions Vari’s desks come with thicker desktops than our picks offer (1.25 inches versus the Uplift V2’s typical 1-inch thicknesses) and the crossbar running across the bottom of the frame is pre-mounted A thicker desktop leads to a sturdier desk And a pre-mounted crossbar reduces the number of steps it takes to assemble the desk; it also eliminates any potential user-assembly errors that could cause wobbling The Vari desk has the same height range as the Uplift V2 so it’s also best suited to those who are about 5-foot-4 to 7 feet tall the Vari desk has fewer customization options than the Uplift the desk was a second or two slower to respond than our picks Vari is discontinuing its smallest sizes of this model (48 by 30 and 60 by 24) so your only options in this lineup are 60 by 30 or 72 by 30 but it costs significantly more than our picks the lifetime warranty and stability might be worth the expense for some people It has a one-piece desktop in various sizes and the included controller offers programmable heights The desktop and legs looked as good as those of the Branch Duo and programming the heights was simple and easy in our tests The EN1’s motor is loud, though, and much slower than those of our picks—it took a full 30 seconds to go from its lowest to its tallest height, compared with 14 seconds for our top pick. Its height range (28.1 to 45.7 inches) is also narrower than that of our picks, so it's not ideal for people who are shorter or taller than average The wires and the cable-management tray are built into the desk so there's zero chance of a spaghetti mess The height range is nearly identical to our top pick’s making it more suitable for a wider range of people than most competing desks It's sturdier at its tallest height than our top pick The desktop is made of metal and is magnetic which was a turn off for some of our testers and it comes in only two (large) sizes: The Pro is 60 by 30 inches There are no wood finishes for this desk so you’re out of luck if you're seeking something natural-looking The Magnus also costs about $100 more than our top pick (for a similar-size desktop) at this writing And its warranty—two years for the electronic control panel and electrical control box five years for everything else—isn’t as extensive as that of our picks the first desk we received had faulty anti-collision detection and didn’t respond to obstructions at the default settings When we reached out to the company about the issue representatives responded quickly and immediately shipped a replacement This is not a comprehensive list of all the standing desks we’ve tested We have removed models that are discontinued or no longer meet our criteria but its height range was the smallest of all the desks we tested in 2025 It has touch-sensitive buttons built into its top surface which were mostly responsive but occasionally needed a second or third touch to activate Some testers worried about activating them with their arm while they worked the desk was wobbly when set to the tallest setting and it costs several hundred dollars more than our top pick at this writing The illustrated instructions didn’t exactly match the parts in the box so we had to make some educated guesses during the building process And one of the two leg motors swiveled in place whenever the desk was in motion the price of the desk has risen so that it’s no longer competitive with the V2-Commercial Herman Miller has also shortened the warranty on the desks from 15 years to 7 years the low-range frame is no longer available on the laminate desk model and a couple of standard desk sizes are no longer offered for the bamboo desk if you can find a Jarvis desk on sale and are okay with the shorter warranty since many Wirecutter staffers own Jarvis desks and are happy with them This is meant to encourage more movement at your desk but we found it to be counterproductive: When the desk was set at our desired height which caused us to slouch rather than fix our posture The desk also did not raise or lower smoothly and it comes in only one size and in white laminate It comes in a plethora of laminate desktop options and in several sizes But we found it to be one of the least stable desks we’ve tested we think you’re better off investing in a pricier Uplift V2 or even paying more for the Vari desk’s superior stability but we dismissed them from testing because of their limited height range (26.5 inches to 45.5 inches) in comparison with that of our picks Juniper’s desks also have fewer memory presets than the other desks and they’re only available in four laminate desktop finishes but two Wirecutter readers have mentioned returning theirs due to stability problems And we’ve come across more problems and negative customer reviews for this model than for any other standing desk It has the fewest desktop-customization options of the desks we researched And unlike the major standing-desk manufacturers IKEA charges high delivery fees if you can’t pick it up in-store it’s easy to try out the desk for yourself Although you can remotely control the height of the Idåsen with your phone the desk’s keypad lacks the customizable height-preset buttons found on our picks It also comes in only four laminate desktop options is one of the most stable two-leg standing desks we’ve ever tested panelists voted its desktop the best of the laminate options thanks to its lightly textured feel and realistic wood look We didn’t pick the VertDesk v3 for most people because its assembly process is more involved than that of most desks we tested and better side-to-side stability (with a crossbar attached) It also has the best instructions and labeling we’ve seen for building a typical standing desk the StandDesk’s motor didn’t respond as quickly and its control pad wasn’t as precise or easy to use as the Uplift desk’s sparing you a good 20 minutes of work compared with assembly time for most desks they are far more expensive than our picks and ultimately the desk didn’t feel properly seated on the frame And considering that it costs more than our picks when similarly configured but we didn’t test it because of its two-year limited warranty on electronic components and motor and its paltry weight limit of 155 to 175 pounds but we skipped testing because it has only a two-year warranty—a no-go for such a pricey desk But it fell short of our criteria due to its short three-year warranty and 150-pound weight limit feature narrow height adjustments that are ideal only for people averaging 6 feet tall Most thought the desktop and keypad looked cheaper than those of the other models we tested Panelists also noted that its motor was marginally louder compared with motors on other models They universally liked its built-in wireless charging station and slim drawer many disliked the non-customizable bamboo top because it was rough and had sharper edges than those of other models we tested Our panelists loved its materials but said the recessed keypad wasn’t intuitive to use and many gave up trying to adjust it to their preferred heights This desk was also harder to assemble than half of the models we tested we found its assembly method—which uses snap clamps rather than screws—to be less secure than that of our picks the Sway’s 10-year warranty is shorter than the Uplift V2’s 15-year warranty even though the Sway typically costs about twice as much Our panelists thought it was overkill to be able to adjust the desk’s height from across the room Multiple testers also called this desk “cheap” and “wobbly.” Plus the anti-collision feature didn’t work during our tests which is an important safety consideration for anyone using a standing desk While the sensors identified obstructions at the front of the desk they failed to sense objects and even our panelists’ legs at the back of the desk our testers found the motor to be too loud and they thought the desk edges were too sharp to rest against while typing at a computer The desk requires an app to unlock all of its features but again our panelists found those extra features useless Charcoal promises to “supercharge” your day by reminding you to take breaks via app notifications plus a glowing dot on the desktop’s surface and its edges were too sharp to lean against while working the anti-collision feature only worked at the front of the desk The free cable tray blocks sensors at the back and it fell off whenever it hit an object during our tests Bottom line: None of our testers thought the Charcoal Desk was worth $1,200 to $1,500 Our panelists loved the tech-forward features and a wireless charging base that automatically spins and tilts toward you when used But this desk fell short of blowing us away because its capacity limit is 176.5 pounds while our Uplift pick can carry loads twice as heavy its adjustable height range can only be preset for above 35.5 inches and below 35.5 inches This means people who share a desk can’t create multiple presets and neither can people who use two wheelchairs at home (such as a manual and electric wheelchair of different heights) There’s an optional app that offers more preset options the manufacturer’s website indicated it offered a one-year warranty But a company spokesperson later relayed that this information was incorrect the website reflects a two-year warranty for the charging components and a five-year warranty for the frame and motor—all of which applies regardless of the purchase date This article was edited by Ben Keough and Erica Ogg An earlier version of this article was written by Melanie Pinola a Wirecutter senior staff writer who died news The Vari L-Shaped Electric Standing Desk is a premium option offering ample workspace Ideal for professionals who need a versatile its smooth height adjustments and high build quality make it a worthwhile investment for any creative or technical workspace I'm no stranger to Vari and their range of office furniture I was excited to get my hands on their L-shape electric corner desk.  Often featured in our round of the best standing desks I've also found the Vari range impressively well-built Vari is one of the better and easier brands to recommend thanks to its value for the cost The L-Shaped Electric Standing Desk is no different What more could you possibly want in an L-shaped standing Desk The Vari L-shaped Electric Standing Desk arrived in three large boxes and especially the desktop pieces themselves These boxes contained the two desktop pieces From the first moment my hands touched this desk and for my team member who was going to be primarily using this desk (he wanted all the space he could get!) we chose the black desktop with black legs and I have had other Vari desks with wood desktops like the previously mentioned Electric Standing Desk with Comfort Edge the black felt like a tremendously simple fit for this use case nor does it feel like I need to baby this desk The setup was straightforward with this desk I specifically see a lot of desks that require a good amount of assembly and perhaps pre-drilled holes for desktops but still take a lot of effort and time to assemble it took us less time than the average desk assembly since Vari makes assembly so easy allowing the use of bolts rather than screws One downside is that this desk is cumbersome but it's essential to be aware of this while setting it up Although it's easy to bolt the pieces together It's advisable to have a partner help with lifting The Comfort Edge is a significant advantage for this workstation because it will be heavily used by one of my team members and reviewing plans rather than sitting in one spot This feature allows him to find a comfortable position and adjust the desk height easily He regularly switches between sitting and standing to maximize his productivity.  The control panel for this desk and its ability to automatically move to pre-positioned heights have been beneficial for our way of working Instead of manually adjusting the desk to the proper height by holding a button or lever which will automatically change every time We primarily use three central heights for this desk second is a standing height for working at a laptop and third is a slightly lower standing height for drawing over plans There is room for a fourth height; we have yet to find a specific need for it The L-shaped electric standing desk with Comfort Soft has a very smooth electric lift mechanism that is both smooth and quiet while also being plenty fast for our use case Transitions between our three central heights are seamless.  It is so seamless that my team member says he constantly switches between modes, mostly just because he can, so why not do what works best now? It's reached the point where he doesn't know if he could ever return to even the best office desks if they're stationary or even just standard-sized The overall workspace is incredibly spacious which allows plenty of room to spread out materials and prevents them from falling on each other or getting crammed up The desk can easily accommodate a building plan that's 24x36" This desk is fantastic for multitasking with two distinct spaces and the 1¼” thick desktop and L-shaped design ensure stability even at max height AttributesNotesRatingDesignLarge workspace great design⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Ease of useEasy a bit more of a vertical position in the back but the lumbar support is decent and the material is airy and light It’s difficult not to compare Vari’s Task Chair to its slightly more expensive sibling The two seats share more than just part of their names Much of the adjustability and aesthetics are similar but the two chairs are quite different in terms of comfort and support I’ve now tested both chairs and can say with confidence that they are both well-made I can also say that they will suit different users depending on what those users really prioritize in a chair Vari offers financing through Affirm at checkout as well Shipping is free within the contiguous United States and Vari says most orders ship the next business day Vari offers free returns within 30 days of purchase.  The blueAdjustment points6Warranty5 yearsVari Task Chair: AssemblyAssembling the Task Chair took about ten minutes and was super easy There are only four major pieces to contend with: the seat back Getting the parts out of the box took more time than the actual assembly process.  You’ll have to screw in exactly four bolts and the tool you’ll need to complete that task is included in the box.  The Task Chair ticks off the boxes for basic adjustments: seat height too: the arm rest pads adjust fore and aft as well as inward and outward on a pivot; the seat bottom adjusts fore and aft; and the seat back features a hinged system that automatically supports your lumbar spine.  All of the adjustments are easy to use and help you tailor your position well the arm rest pads click into place when you find your ideal position I’ve been critical of arm pad adjustments They don’t wander when you’ve found a position you like The seat recline adjustment goes down far enough to allow comfort without losing support I did find that the most upright position still wasn’t quite upright enough for my liking I like a very upright position so my neck and shoulders don’t tense up But this is personal preference and may not be an issue for you.  All of the adjustment knobs under the seat are easy to manipulate though they don’t stick out from the chair as far as other chairs I’ve tested That means you’ll need to reach a bit further down to get to them It’s a minor issue unless you have severe mobility problems.  The Task Chair feels similar to its more expensive sibling But the construction of the two chairs set them apart What I ultimately decided about the two chairs is that they are equally comfortable and useful People who find the Task Chair most comfortable and useful may find the Performance Task Chair less so is thicker and firmer than the seat on the Task Chair I thought the Performance Task Chair’s thicker and firmer seat was more comfortable but after sitting in the Task Chair for a few weeks but the firmer seat of the Performance Task Chair may end up being too firm for some users — specifically The Task Chair’s softer and thinner seat bottom is more forgiving.  This allows for a more customized lumbar support position The Performance Task Chair curiously does not have any hinged movement in the seat back which means there’s less adjustability to tailor your position flex considerably due to the materials used in construction of the seat back I preferred the Task Chair’s seat back over the Performance Task chair’s seat back in terms of position and comfort The higher-end Performance Task Chair wins out in breathability and overall support The Task Chair’s seat back sits up a bit straighter than the Performance Task Chair If you like a slightly more reclined position One concern I have about the Task Chair’s seat back is the long term support that the material can offer It’s just a single layer of mesh material and I wonder if this will stretch and wear over time The Performance Task Chair has a beefier construction that will undoubtedly retain its shape over the long haul I imagine that’s where the $100 price difference between the two chairs comes into play.  The Vari Task chair is an excellent chair at an excellent price and offers active lumbar support to keep you sitting up straight and supported for long periods of time and the chair is just the right amount of adjustable.  The seat bottom is thinner than the Task Chair’s pricier sibling But it’s also softer; if you want more support My only real complaint about the Task Chair is the slightly relaxed position of the seat back I like to sit up very straight to keep my neck and shoulders neutral at my desk The Task Chair’s seat back leans a bit too far back for my liking This may not be an issue for you if you like a more relaxed position.  unless you want a firmer seat bottom for better support — in which case you can opt instead for the also-excellent Performance Task Chair.  and other bike accessories for Tom's Guide his work has appeared in Triathlete Magazine Slow Guy on the Fast Ride: One is about cycling and other outdoor activities while the other looks at mental health issues These mid-range brands offer everything from budget chairs to premium models because these two brands have similar products and price ranges it can be a bit difficult to determine which one is going to serve your needs best we’d be willing to recommend either of them on their own here’s a closer look at Vari and Branch We’ll use our experience and detailed knowledge of each brand’s full lineups to discern the fine details of where each company excels and manages to outshine the other Branch’s and Vari’s chairs can be tough to distinguish from one another at a glance but you’ll likely notice that the former tends to have slightly slimmer If you’re tall and you have wide shoulders this may not be as comfortable or supportive sharp corners that could dig into your shoulders Branch’s chairs also tend to offer more color options and add-ons This means the price isn’t as certain with these models as they are with Vari’s but it helps you add a bit more of a personal touch to your workspace which can be a relief if you’re tired of the same old black and gray the two brands are relatively evenly matched but Vari does have a few more options with polyethylene bases than Branch which lends to Vari’s slightly lower prices It may not always be as robust a material as aluminum but it will still last you years without any issues At the low end of the price range for both brands we find Vari’s humble Essential Task Chair this relatively barebones chair gives you little more than the essentials in terms of adjustment and comfort whereas Branch’s cheapest option has a metal one but it makes up for this step down in build quality with adjustable lumbar support is just $20 more than the Essential Task Chair and boasts a similar number of adjustment points as well as the option to upgrade to a vegan leather seat the adjustments are all relatively basic — no lumbar support height adjustment here Solely in terms of ergonomic office chairs (i.e. not including pricier conference room chairs), Branch has the most expensive option of all with the $550 Verve which we consider the best office chair overall and for most people based on our testing It has a 3D-knit backrest lining that’s super breathable like mesh It doesn’t have too many out-of-the-ordinary features and there are only six points of adjustment but it’s unbelievably comfortable and sturdily built It’s a much more minimalist design than the Verve: it has a three-piece mesh backrest that includes a headrest and all three parts can move around independently there are nine points of adjustment to work with but this chair definitely isn’t one you can sink into the same way you can with the Verve you can try the Performance Task Chair as an alternative which has fewer adjustment points but a much comfier cushion Since you’re working with two budget brands here you can expect to put a little more work into the assembly process than with higher-end brands but it’s luckily not too bad with either Branch or Vari Both brands’ chairs take about 10 minutes to assemble though we’ve found in our testing that Branch chairs have just a few more steps including attaching the casters to the base the only assembly you’ll have to navigate with either brand is the joining of the backrest and armrests to the seat then the base and air cylinder to the underside this only required us to screw in four bolts with an included tool It took us more time to remove all the packaging than it did to actually put the thing together Both cover any and all manufacturer defects in any parts and components for the full length of the warranty term You just have to be careful not to damage any of the parts on your own be sure to avoid any component replacements and stick to noninvasive add-ons Branch and Vari are pretty evenly matched in terms of model variety But that doesn’t mean they’re equal Vari is our pick for adjustability and saving a little bit more money whereas Branch is our choice for more customization and we’d have a hard time saying any of these chairs aren’t worth your money But even a chair as cheap as $235 can be an investment to some so it’s worth sending that money in the best direction for your needs Adam SchramSocial Links NavigationStaff Writer Home OfficeAdam Schram is a staff writer covering home office Standing Desk: The upsThough this desk isn’t trying to blow you away with a bunch of fancy tech there’s still plenty to laud about it and doesn’t try to force any unnecessary extra features It’s a sleek desk that functions as the ideal blank canvas for the rest of the gear in your home office the justification for its existence when Vari already has several quality standing desks with the same dimensions Though the contouring looks subtle in photos my forearms noticed how much the angled front end of this desktop slopes down It’s rounded out with just the right shape to smooth the transition between my office chair’s armrests and my keyboard the finish of the wood is just glossy enough to not feel abrasive but not so glossy that my arms got sweaty and started sliding around on hot days The desktop also has two grommets that help you keep things tidy on the topside of your desk this desk has the capacity to look very clean with a full setup of office equipment on top of it and you can customize the wood’s finish to match the hardwood floors or the rest of your decor in its final resting place which is in an ancient building in West Philadelphia with plenty of room layout quirks I was worried about damaging the walls and windowsills with my desk this desk has a superb “safety sensor” built into the motor that prevents the desk from moving up or down if a sudden change in resistance is detected This proved especially handy when I first got the desk situated in my new office since I positioned it in front of two windows to get their natural light while I work I bumped the desk into one of my windowsills and I thought the poor thing might be a goner after the 200-pound-weight-limit motors smashed through it and left little more than a dent in the ten layers of cruddy white paint my landlord left dripping off the bottom too: if you forgot that you put a huge box under your desk or mistakenly left your office chair at full height I’ve seen safety measures like this before Another one of my woes as an apartment dweller and serial mover is lugging heavy furniture from place to place I actually discarded a lot of furniture from my previous home just so I didn’t have to carry it all in a moving truck But I kept the Ergo because I had no problem disassembling it into three pieces You can remove the legs (as well as the feet) from this desk to transform it from a hundred-pound behemoth into a collection of pieces that are entirely manageable to carry on your own but you can slide it on smooth floors without hurting it or yourself An old blanket you don’t mind getting dirty can go a long way here One consequence of the Ergo’s simplicity is that it lacks some features I would consider valuable in a crowded workspace such as my own I also had some frustrations with the anti-collision tech in this desk working just a little too well As much as I love the two grommets Vari includes for cable management with the Ergo, I was disappointed to see that’s where the built-in cable management effectively ends. There’s no space to tuck one of the best surge protectors on the underside so I’ve had to resort to letting mine sit on the floor and leave half a dozen cables dangling all the dangling cables I have under my desk taught me that the safety sensor can sometimes be too sensitive for its own good The moment one of my cables ran short and lifted the surge protector off the ground that was enough to make the impact prevention measures kick in This made it impossible to raise the desk to its full height without lifting the surge protector off the ground and holding it up to the bottom of the desk to prevent any of the cords from going taut I placed a small stool under the desk on top of which my surge protector sits and it does prevent the desk from lowering to its minimum height but I seldom prefer to have it set that low anyway you can get a desk that isn’t nearly as capable — or comfortable — as the Vari Ergo Electric This desk doesn’t try to wow you with a million bells and whistles but rather relies on getting the basics right It has powerful motors that can handle a ton of weight (more accurately it’s easy to set and adjust your height presets it’s the most forearm-friendly desktop money can buy I’m almost certain it will make a huge difference to an already excellent desk The L-shape means lots of real estate for computers you'll probably want to keep it there as it is somewhat bulky and on the heavier side Let me get straight to the point: after using Vari’s L-Shaped Electric Standing Desk in my home office for the last month and a half and there’s tons of real estate for those of us with more than just the laptop to contend with.  and it’s programmable at the touch of a button so you can save your various preferred desk heights so once it’s in place you’ll probably want to keep it there there’s just about no drawbacks to this super cool desk The company also provides financing through Affirm at checkout Vari offers free shipping on the L-Shape Electric Standing Desk you get a free 30-day return window and a lifetime warranty.  It took me about an hour to fully assemble the Vari L-Shape Electric Standing Desk Unpacking it from the boxes took the most time the instructions are very clear and easy to understand You’ll want to make sure you’ve got plenty of floor space for the process.  so you won’t need to bust out any power tools for assembly I did use an electric screwdriver to speed up certain parts of the assembly but you can certainly skip this and use a regular screwdriver If you purchased additional accessories with your L-Shape Electric Standing Desk I got my accessories after I built the desk so installing those accessories was a bit trickier and involved getting underneath the desk and screwing upward.  Vari includes hook-and-loop straps and cable guides to manage all the cables that run underneath but the cable guides didn’t stick to the bottom surface of the desk for very long you’ll likely need a friend to help you position it Don’t attempt to do it yourself; you risk hurting yourself and damaging the desk.  The L-Shape Electric Standing Desk has three desktop pieces: a long piece You can choose which side to mount the corner and short piece The front edge of the desktop is contoured as well You can control the height of the desk by using the up and down buttons This gives you a range from 25 inches to 50.5 inches Once you find height settings that work well for you just use the numbered keys next to the up and down arrows to save your settings There are several mounting locations for the control unit The most common mounting location is at the corner of the larger desktop but you can place it wherever it’s convenient for you especially if you’re willing to drill custom holes.  The desk is held up by three legs with wide feet to provide exceptional stability for this large desk They telescope as the motor raises and lowers the desk I used the up and down arrows exclusively to adjust the desk height I didn’t want to program any specific heights until I had a chance to settle in and figure out my ideal sitting and standing positions it took seconds to program those specific desk heights into the number keys Vari calls its motor “whisper quiet,” and while I think that’s an exaggeration it is still quiet enough that I don’t mind adjusting the desk even with my kiddo asleep in the next room The L-Shape Electric Desk feels like it’s built like a tank though I don’t love having to move it to install new accessories or if I had to change the position of the desk in my room If you think you’ll be moving this unit frequently you’ll need friends to help you.  I don’t imagine I’ll be moving my desk I prefer the extra real estate I get for the weight and size and other accessories with plenty of room left over to use as a writing surface (or to lay out the mess of papers and various stuff always cluttering my desktops).  I love having more space than perhaps I actually need It was quite a moment when I realized I could put my printer on the desk without sacrificing working space at all I had my printer perched on a filing cabinet on the opposite side of the room Now I don’t have to move from my desk to turn it on and off My sample desk came with the “Reclaimed Wood” desktop finish It fits well with my room’s aesthetic look like real wood if you’re looking closely But a real hardwood desktop would increase the cost of this unit significantly and it’s ready for rugged use.  Vari includes a pair of desk hooks with the L-Shape Electric Desk You also get some coasters to keep your desktop stain free and some cable straps to keep all of your wires tidy The lamp features various color temperatures and light levels The Power Hub makes access to plugs easy and quick (I plug and unplug my laptop frequently And the Undermount Storage functions as a drawer and a small shelf making it easy to grab frequently used items like pens or my iPad.  This polyurethane mat is soft and comfortable and it features various protrusions that allow you to stretch your legs and feet while you’re using your desk in the standing position While I have some minor complaints about the Vari L-Shape Electric Standing Desk like the cable management situation underneath the desk I really can’t find any major reasons not to invest the money in this spacious and sturdy desk Vari has done an incredible job creating an efficient work surface with tons of well thought-out accessories that make the overall experience superb I highly recommend the L-Shape Electric Standing Desk.  Based on predictions from On3 recruiting experts Corey Bender and Stephen Wagner Florida is expected to land four-star cornerback J’Vari Flowers decided to reclassify to the class of 2025 after originally being part of the class of 2026 Due to the timing of his reclassification, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback is 247Sports’ highest-ranked unsigned recruit. Log in to leave a comment The Florida Gators have reeled in another prospect for the 2025 cycle, as 4-star cornerback J’Vari Flowers committed to Billy Napier‘s program on Monday Back in February, the Gators were able to flip Onis Konanbanny from Tennessee. Now, they have landed another late addition at cornerback in Miami Northwestern’s Flowers, who previously reclassified from the 2026 class. Gators Online highlighted the Gators’ strong standing with Flowers on Sunday a speedy defensive back who participated in this year’s Under Armour All-America Game quickly put Florida near the top of his list after reclassifying in January Nothing changed after UF went through coaching changes in the secondary either The Gators were still able to receive an official visit earlier this month and ultimately beat out plenty of competition for the On300 top-100 prospect “They’re a big factor. They’ve got a couple players up there I’m familiar with. I know they put players in the right direction. And they have a a great history. They’re a powerhouse program that’s going to be back on top,” Flowers previously said of Florida when speaking with Gators Online Additional 2025 cornerbacks in the Gators’ class are Ben Hanks III and the aforementioned Onis Konanbanny. Florida also signed Southern Miss transfer Michael Caraway Jr., who could play a mixture of positions in the secondary. Measured at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 pounds in the offseason before the 2024 season. Reclassified late in the process, joining the 2025 cycle in January 2025. At top combine athlete who is also a star sprinter. Posted a scintillating 10.43-second mark in the 100 meters along with a 20.95-second time in the 200 meters. Has the speed to run with any receiver. Good fluidity and is able to change directions well. Physical as a run defender and isn’t shy in lowering his shoulder. Closes quickly in defending the quick game. Dynamic return man who shows the ability to take kickoffs and punts to the house. A top talent with the ball in his hands. Helped his Miami Northwestern team to a state title in his final season. Had a great week of practice at the Under Armour All-American Game, earning Top Performer status for On3. In addition to his prowess on the football field, Flowers is the reigning Florida 3A state champion in the 100-meter dash with a 10.43 time to his name. Since his performance at both Under Armour week and the Battle 7v7 event earlier this month, Flowers has been getting no shortage of recruiting attention, he told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. By clicking "Subscribe to Newsletter", I agree to On3's Privacy Notice, Terms, and use of my personal information described therein. “Since the Under Armour game there’s been a lot of recruitment going on,” Flowers said. “My stock definitely jumped up after that game. Georgia came in the picture. Building a great relationship with Coach T-Rob and Coach Smart. Georgia Tech also came in the picture. Building a stronger relationship with them.” Miami has also been a mainstay in his recruitment, and may even be considered the leader right now. But the Hurricanes will have to hold off many other suitors to land him. “The program is coming back up,” he told Wiltfong. “They’re trying to keep all their good players down here. Trying to keep everyone home. I like what they’re doing with the staff.” 2025 prospects are able to sign with a school beginning next Wednesday as part of the February signing period. Working on the couch is nice for a few hours but my back curses me if I do it for too long Vari has given me a more permanent solution.  and buttery soft surface make it a heavenly alternative to your average sharp-edged desk I’ve found that it’s a breeze to take apart and move on my own — a much-appreciated break when excessive heavy lifting makes my nerves go haywire this desktop is heaven for your forearms due to its lack of harsh edges and its height adjustment is wonderfully sensitive The Ergo’s name reflects its design priorities aptly The front end of this desk slopes downward at a shallow angle that blends seamlessly with the remaining surface area This smooth blending prevents any pronounced edges from digging into your forearms while you use your keyboard the sharp angles that are common on other desks tend to rub up against the tendons along my ulna That extra pressure leads to shooting pain that runs all the way from my pinky through my shoulder The pain has become much more manageable in recent months but it’s still enough discomfort to make me stir-crazy after an hour or so Hence my surprise when I sat through almost four hours at my keyboard before I noticed I hadn’t budged.  Vari made this desk with an ultra-soft wood with a light laminate finish Not only is it far more comfortable to rest on than I expected but it also strikes the perfect balance between the soft grippy comfort of matte finishes while remaining easy to clean I can’t say I’ve sat at a desk with a fully polished surface since the cruddy tables at my high school but I certainly appreciate that my arms don’t get sweaty and start sliding around like they did back then I don’t feel like I need to worry about my workspace looking terrible when I accidentally put a cold drink down without a coaster.  Another hurdle that awkward arm injury introduced to my life is difficulty lifting large I’ve largely used only electric standing desks many of those options have frustrated me with their input lag while adjusting I had a desk in my office that would coast multiple inches past where I was trying to set it to my priority was finding a model that was less unruly.  I get the limitations manufacturers can have when they’re trying to design a motor that can micro-adjust while supporting up to 200 pounds I’ve also used a handful of standing desks that can stop on a dime even when I have piles of crud on top of it that I hardly have to anticipate any extra movement There seems to be no variation in stopping power regardless of whether the desk is loaded or not but I intend to keep pushing that limit as I continue testing for my full review I have a bin full of metal bicycle parts that’s begging to sit on top of it.  The Ergo also detects obstacles in its path with ease, and it backs off the moment it meets pretty much any resistance. This function is so sensitive, in fact, that it detected a resistance change when its own power cord left the ground and lifted the surge protector it was plugged into As tricky as that one hiccup was to diagnose I was happy to see that degree of redundancy built into a desk that costs less than 700 bucks Continuing on my note about heavy furniture being my bane I’d be remiss to gloss over how easy it was to move this desk between apartments by myself The whole thing is just a shade over 100 pounds which I certainly can’t handle on my own but you can take the Ergo’s legs off by undoing a handful of 5mm hex bolts leaving you with three pieces that one person can handle with relative ease.  The desktop can still be awkward to navigate up a narrow flight of stairs but I managed to get it up three stories of my Philly apartment building using a blanket and some patience but it was nowhere near the throbbing pain I had grown to expect from lifting and carrying things post-crash.  Lighting Designer Cory Pattak lit up Broadway with production luminaires from Vari-Lite Vari-Lite fixtures were featured on the 2024 productions of The Great Gatsby and A Wonderful World with around 60 Vari-Lite VL2600 SE Profiles on The Great Gatsby and 50 VL2600 Profiles plus 12 VL3600 Profile IP fixtures on A Wonderful World “I made my Broadway design debut in the fall of 2023 with Spamalot followed by Gatsby and A Wonderful World in 2024 All three shows came out of PRG and I worked with them to find fixtures that would work for my needs and within the budget.” “My approach to lighting is not one of subtlety,” explained Pattak “I’m not great at disappearing into the background All three shows feature big bold looks with lots of colour lots of movement and require the lighting to do a fair amount of heavy lifting I like to do a lot of shutter and iris gags with fast opens and closes and I find the VLs to have some of the fastest-moving parts on the market.” Pattak also praised Vari-Lite’s full frame shutters and broad zoom range claiming they opened a lot of creative possibilities Output was also a major requirement for Pattak I needed fixtures that could compete with the brightness of the LED tiles but I didn’t have the pipe space for the biggest lights out there because I really like their brightness compared to other comparable fixtures and I don’t feel like I lose that brightness when I put in a colour,” he added colour rendering was vital for the production design as well Some manufacturers’ CTO is a little greener “The VLs did everything I needed them to do,” concluded Pattak they are the workhorse fixture and they do everything from people lighting to scenic washes to flashier eye candy they were a great addition to the production.” including 4-star cornerback J'Vari Flowers The Auburn football coaching staff has been recruiting hard as the team goes through winter workouts in preparation for spring practice.
