Croatia has partially opened a €350 million EU co-funded rail project
including a 15-kilometre dual-track section between the Croatian Koprivnica and the Hungarian Gyékényes and a new Drava River bridge
to enhance freight and passenger connectivity between Croatia and Hungary
A newly upgraded railway section linking Croatia and Hungary has been partially inaugurated
introducing a major upgrade to rail transport between the two countries
This project includes the construction of a 15-kilometre dual-track line connecting Koprivnica in Croatia to Gyékényes in Hungary
alongside a double-track bridge over the Drava River
The Croatian government has invested €350 million in the project
co-financed by the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF)
As part of the broader “Reconstruction and Construction of a Second Track on the Križevci–Koprivnica–State Border Section” initiative
the project also involves upgrading the railway’s signalling systems to European standards (ETCS)
the line will support speeds of up to 160 km/h and facilitate smoother freight traffic
particularly between the Port of Rijeka and Hungary
with the remaining work focused on the section between Mučna Reka and Koprivnica
scheduled for completion by the end of 2025
expects the line to handle 30 freight trains daily once fully operational
This represents a dramatic increase from the minimal traffic levels before Croatia joined the Schengen Area
The enhanced capacity aims to alleviate bottlenecks along the Mediterranean Corridor
enabling more seamless cargo movement from the Adriatic Sea to Hungary and beyond
“This project will significantly improve connectivity for freight transport
particularly benefiting the Port of Rijeka
It’s a major step forward in strengthening our international rail corridors,” said Ivan Kršić
is 300 metres long and weighs 4,000 tonnes
It was constructed using a longitudinal push technique
Replacing the previous single-track bridge
enhancing the route’s capacity to handle modern freight traffic
“The most challenging work involved constructing the elliptical bridge piers in the Drava River basin to ensure environmental harmony and structural stability,” noted Mehmet Yilmaz from Cengiz Insaat
This project is part of a €6 billion rail modernisation plan launched by HŽ Infrastruktura
the largest investment of its kind in Croatia
Supported by the EU and global financial institutions
the initiative includes nearly 20 railway projects aimed at boosting freight and passenger rail infrastructure
Strategic corridors prioritised in this modernisation include:
The upgraded Croatia-Hungary corridor is expected to enhance freight capacity
facilitating efficient cross-border trade and contributing to the region’s economic growth

KOPRIVNICA, Croatia, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Misel Jaksic, mayor of Koprivnica in northern Croatia, voiced his welcome to Chinese tourists as the annual traditional outdoor Easter eggs exhibition is underway in the city.
Although Croatia is perhaps best known for its Mediterranean tourism, "we are convinced that the continental part of Croatia also offers incredible experiences," Jaksic said in a recent interview with Xinhua.
According to the mayor, the Easter eggs combine tradition and a public space available to all visitors, curious people and lovers of naive painting, and the painters use special painting techniques that were developed precisely in small rural areas in the houses of workers, farmers, and artists of the region.
Moreover, the motifs on the Easter eggs depict the landscape and rural life of the region, as it once was and as it can still be found in its hidden corners, hills and agricultural plains, Jaksic said.
On March 14, the Tourist Board of Koprivnica-Krizevci County unveiled its annual exhibition of large decorated Easter eggs on the city's center square, and the Easter eggs, 2.05-meter high and 1.5-meter wide each, are believed to be the largest in Croatia.
The Easter eggs from Koprivnica, while having enjoyed the status of Intangible Croatian Cultural Heritage, have been gifted to other cities including Munich, Rome, New York, Prague, and Vienna. ■

Text description provided by the architects. This morning, at the Granting ceremony of the Mies van der Rohe Awards for European Architecture in Barcelona at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, we met Lea and Toma, founders of Studio Up, winners of the Emerging Architect Special Mention for Gymnasium 46° 09' N / 16° 50' E in Koprivnica, Croatia -and they shared with us this interesting project.
Lea Pelivan (Born in Split, Croatia in 1976) and Toma Plejić (Born in Riijeka, Croatia in 1977) both received their architecture diplomas in 2001 from the University of Zagreb where they established their professional practice in 2003. Their most important projects include: Frameworks (Site-specific project for the 2004 Biennale di Venezia), the P10 Mixed-Use Building, Split and the Spectator Business Building, Zagreb.
‘Koprivnica - Spirit of Mega'; a town with the lowest number of college graduates in Croatia announced the rebellious competition program for 900 scholars and 2000 spectators in 2003.
The site of the high school building and a sports hall, in front of the American-like housing suburb periphery, is located at the end of a series of ambitious town interventions - mega elements. ‘Tabula rasa'; The contact site of these ‘two worlds' is radically divided into two parts, black and green, full and empty, spiritual and physical, one facing the city and the other facing the residential suburbia.
The new building complex arises between these two extremes. An enigmatic compressed mono-volume of the gymnasium and sports hall complex with intricate spatial relations in contrast to a vast plain landscape, placed centrally on the plot, forms a gymnasium - a common place - a contrasting provocative whole lacking a foreground or background, without hierarchy or authority.
The structure of the building is reinforced concrete on the ground floor
while the upper floors are realized with dry assembled ‘H' shaped steel elements
The classrooms floors have thin Slim-deck flooring
made up of trapezoid section lightweight galvanized sheet steel and cast concrete
The roof of the sports hall is made using a specially designed grid work of right-angled elements and joints in steel
all the materials are available on the standard building market (lightning
Profilit industrial opal glass) and there is no finishing when unnecessary
as in case of the floor soffits which are left unfinished
Because of its high cost there is no air conditioning in the gym
so system of shutters above the sports hall and the ducts through the cantilevered classrooms of the top floor ensure a constant flow of cool air during the summer months
while the double polycarbonate skin creates a ‘green house effect' in winter
radiates the even and turns the building into public condenser
an iconic and symbolic place for the youngsters of Koprivnica
I am a 30-year-old product designer born in Croatia who decided to move abroad in search for a better life just to find out that life in Croatia is pretty damn amazing
I moved to Amsterdam right after finishing my faculty
I lived there for around 4,5 years – I spent a lot of time exploring the country
I quite enjoyed it – it was a valuable experience for me
Croatia opened up quite quickly in comparison to the Netherlands
so I used the opportunity to spend some time with my family and friends back in Croatia while working remotely
I was quickly reminded of the warmth of Croatian people
but I didn’t feel anymore that I want to live there
I kept thinking of great memories created back in Croatia
It all happened in a few weeks – I applied for a job
My parents were in disbelief for a few months
but I felt quite supported by my friends and family in Croatia
even though most of them were surprised by my decision
I still quite often get asked WHY would I move back to Croatia after living in Amsterdam
so I was aware of most of the realities and the things people in Croatia usually complain about
and I saw my country in a completely different light when I was moving back
I feel there is this culture of collective dissatisfaction that is quite strong in Croatia – western countries are often idolized
and we often take for granted the beautiful way of living we have
We’re forgetting that we’re quite connected to each other; we easily open up
I didn’t really have any fears about coming back
I was actually pleasantly surprised because I got a feeling a lot of things progressed over the 4 years I was away
I was a bit worried about the bureaucracy and paperwork I need to do
but people working in the tax office actually helped me a lot
I love the way of living – endless coffees
pretty much everything about the community
I even love a bit of the Balkan craziness that comes with living here
I think this is a country with a lot of potential
and I would love if we could see it that way and start putting more effort as individuals in order to make it better economically
I don’t like that we see the current economical state here as the sole responsibility of a few people/government
but we need to stop complaining and do something about it
I think the key to a painless move is patience and gathering as much information as possible
even when it comes to complicated bureaucracy stuff
there is a lovely country full of possibilities on the other side
so it’s difficult for me to say how it could have been done better
I’m not sure what it would look like if I grew up in another country or made a permanent move to the Netherlands for a longer period of time
Coming back after up to 5 years of living abroad is quite painless

Podravka started the match with the fact on their minds that they haven't suffered a home defeat in over a year (last loss on home court in February
Dunarea Braila were determined to break the deadlock and spoil the atmosphere in Koprivnica
It didn't take long for the Romanian club to establish dominance in the first half as well as the match and furthermore
the too many turnovers and technical errors (12) made by the hosts didn't help them to counter Dunarea Braila's quality
In the first-ever meeting between the two teams
the eight-goal advantage built by the visitors at the break was enough for them to even lower their tempo in the second half
to leave them in an extremely favourable position to progress to the EHF European League Finals Women for the first time in their history ahead of the return leg in Romania next week

Faultless performance by Croatia's line player proved too much for the hosts
Katarina Jezic shined on home soil as the Croatian was an unsolvable enigma for Podravka Vegeta's defence throughout the match as she scored seven goals from as many attempts and displayed a fantastic performance
her connection on the court with the super-experienced playmaker Kristina Liscevic was a joy to watch as the 34-year-old pulled the strings for the visitors as well as oozed class with every move she made in offense and found the back of the net on five occasions
Jezic - Liscevic was just too good for the hosts to stop it as they combined for 12 goals altogether

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Sergej Novosel Vuckovic writes
a continental Croatian town known for the Podravka brand and its numerous beloved products
might just gain more recognition from no less than the popular Somersby cider brand
The product behind that name refers to the range of cider
a drink that has always been very popular in Northern Europe
and has since gained traction here in Croatia
and the production of which was started by the Danish beer company Carlsberg in its factory in Koprivnica around a decade ago
Somersby is made there for the whole world
a total of 867 trucks full of bottles of different flavours of this wildly popular cider were sent to about twenty markets from the Carlsberg Croatia plant in Podravina
with another 200 tanks with this drink intended for tapping
That nicknamed “Koprivnica cider” ended up in Tahiti
These figures were announced recently at the factory by the President of the Management Board of Carlsberg Croatia
“Despite all of the challenges that the year 2020 brought with it
we’re very pleased with how it ended
including last year when exports to Germany and Hungary increased
Somersby production in Croatia started back in 2011
there were only three Carlsberg factories in the entire world that were producing Somersby cider
of which the Koprivnica plant was the first to start fermenting wine,” said Burdach
without giving any specific data on the company’s business results
this cider is made in ten different flavours
Carlsberg Croatia also produces already renowned beer brands such as the much loved Pan in its various ways
and the company is also a significant employer
as it employs about 300 people in an otherwise fairly neglected part of the country

2024 – Of the many rivers that run through Croatia
five of them could truly be classed as European giants – they stretch for around 300 kilometres or longer
Mura river (483km) and Danube river (2860km)
activities and cuisine of the Croatian regions they pass through
they often create the very borders of the country
Running along the length of the country’s most northerly border
the Mur river separates Croatia from Slovenia in the west and Hungary in the east
near the Nature Preserve of Veliki Pažut and the historic municipality of Legrad
the Drava continues the job of separating Croatia and Hungary
By the time the Mur meets the Drava river in Koprivnica Križevci County
the Drava has already travelled more than half of its journey
Such a long fall has a significant effect on how the river looks and behaves here
the Drava river in Koprivnica Križevci County is an epic
creating beaches on which fishermen and families happily sit all day
the perfect natural place for relaxing and recreation
people take advantage of the Drava’s powerful descent
channelled and harnessed for hydroelectric power
the Drava changed course and gave Legrad to Podravina
These constantly shifting waterways and floodplains create new habitats and restore existing ones
The Veliki Pažut Special Zoological Reserve is 1000 hectares that are specially protected to preserve this biodiversity

people bring their picnics and barbecues down here to the water’s edge
There’s a famous beach at the old Legrad-Halasz Csarda resort and nearby a new children’s playground
You can read more about the visitor offer in Legrad and at the Veliki Pažut Special Zoological Reserve here
The Drava route is the oldest and most famous bicycle path in Podravina
it largely follows the course of the Drava river
it veers away from the riverside to take in some of the must-see sights of the county
On the 84 kilometre route, you pass through a diverse landscape – fields of golden agriculture, the neat rows of gently descending vineyards and forests that filter the sunlight. From the confluence of the Mura and Drava in Legrad, you drop down past Šoderica lake, before taking in the remarkable village of Hlebine, world-renowned as the centre of an art movement
It’s not the only historic settlement you meet
The grand city of Koprivnica sits on the route
Its town centre holds several monuments to cycling
traditional rural villages like Podravske Sesvete and Ferdinandovac give a timeless sense of life next to this great river
Of course, this epic bike path is not the only one in Koprivnica-Križevci County (you can see all of the specially designated ones here)
Nor is it the only one to pass by the county’s special waters
Starting on the Adriatic sea and ending on Lake Balaton in Hungary
it takes in some of Croatia’s greatest water features
Lonjsko polje Nature Park and the Drava river in Koprivnica Križevci County
Other highlights it passes in the county are the medieval town of Đurđevac and the village of Gola
an alternative bicycle route takes you back along the Drava
then across the river and on to Šoderica lake
The lake is surrounded by new recreational paths perfect for walking
Boasting a massive 831,43 hectares of fishing waters, Koprivnica-Križevci County is a fisherman’s paradise. Carp, catfish, common bream, trout and pike are among the most commonly encountered here. These waters include not only the Drava and the Mura rivers but also more than 20 designated fishing lakes. They’re managed by ZŠRK Koprivnica (here)
who can also issue permits to any visitors drawn to fish in the spectacular county waters
Often, the best way to connect with nature is to get up close and stay awhile. Camping by the Drava is great for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. The Aqua Terra campsite (here) at Šoderica lake is just a couple of hundred metres from the river
you’re only a few steps from the recreational lake
which is fed underground by the Drava itself
Weekend houses sit back from the shoreline promenade
children’s voices carry across the water while they’re swimming in Šoderica
young adults congregate at popular bars on the edge of the lake
sports tournaments fill the lake’s social calendar
The camp itself is spread across 20,000 square meters and includes an activities park – with rope bridges through the treetops – and a beach bar. You can find out more about the events and activities on Šoderica lake here
the Drava warms before reaching the county
yet protected from the always strong currents
The river feeds two lakes which are also popular places for summer swimming; Šoderica near Legrad and Đelekovec and the Čingi lingi lake
which lies between the villages of Repaš and Molve
Many of Croatia’s rivers are too dry in summer to support activities
This giant flows thick and fast even during peak summertime
A great way to enjoy the natural surroundings is from atop the water itself

It was an exciting match in which Croatia did not give up even when they were far behind
Numerous injuries in the Croatia national team significantly changed the starting lineup compared to the World Champs
and Dejana Milosavljević in the outside positions.
Unusual nervousness plagued both teams at the start
France missed four attacks (with two saves by Croatia’s goalkeeper)
The first goal was scored at the beginning of the fifth minute by Andrea Šimara
France reached their first goal in the sixth minute
they scored two more and held their advantage
especially Ana Debelić and Kristina Prkačin
Olivier Krumbholz was not overly pleased with his team’s game and constantly rotated players for the ideal lineup to handle Croatia’s defense
Croatia struggled in the attack but did not give up
France then scored two goals in a row for 7:9 in the 23rd minute
Croatia could equalize from two seven-meter throws but missed both
France went up by three goals for the first time – 8:11
With another goal in the last seconds before halftime
With three goals in a row in the 40th minute
they managed to halve the advantage of the Olympic winners and reach 13:16
but France instead scored for 17:20 with seven minutes to go.
Josipa Mamić’s goal just 90 seconds before the end put Croatia behind by only one goal – 19:20
France quickly responded on the other side for the final 19:21
Valentina Blažević scored four goals and Dejana Milosavljević three.
The return match will be played on Sunday at 17:30 in Toulouse

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Sergej Novosel Vuckovic writes
the Danish-owned Carlsberg Croatia Brewery
in addition to a wide range of its basic beer products also offers cider
a relatively new addition to the Croatian drinks scene
which is made from diluted fruit wine and based on apple juice
This type of drink has been very popular in recent years in Croatia
despite having always been popular in Northern European countries such as the United Kingdom
and Carlsberg’s cider brand Somersby is the leader on the Croatian market
It is produced in several flavours in the company’s brewery in Koprivnica and from there it goes all over the world
Koprivnica-made Somersby is enjoyed from distant Australia to Asia
President of the Management Board of Carlsberg Croatia
the beer market and expectations for the upcoming season
is exported to 20 countries on 5 continents
We believe that consumers generally don’t know that we produce Somersby in Koprivnica and export it
We’ve exported Koprivnica-made Somersby to different continents and countries around the world
Carlsberg Croatia regularly exported Somersby to eighteen markets
Koprivnica-made Somersby travelled to Germany
it should be noted that this list is only relevant for last year – the list of countries to which Somersby has travelled from Croatia in recent years is much longer and includes Australia
Isn’t that impressive and something to brag about
Our main export markets are Hungary and Germany and I think the fact that we export so much to Germany is a clear sign of quality
because everyone knows how crucial quality is in the German market
How much Somersby was produced in the factory in Croatia last year
Although we’re still unable to release the full data for last year because the financial report hasn’t yet been released
we can say that Somersby’s exports are increasing every year
I can tell you that last year we exported 867 trucks of Somersby in bottles and more than 200 tanks of it
export numbers are better for 2020 than they were for 2019
You’ve decided to further strengthen the visual of this drink with Croatian characteristics
We made a limited edition of the ”Croatian” logo Somersby because we wanted to send the message that Somersby is not only a global
the cans on our market are produced elsewhere
but we don’t produce Somersby in bottles only for Croatia
that Koprivnica-made Somersby goes all over the world
This is the merit of the Croatian mind and hardworking people in Croatia
who produce this drink for consumers around the world
We thought it would be easiest to convey that message visually and the feedback from consumers and our business partners about that has been great
Your predecessor at the helm of Carlsberg Croatia told me that you would like to make Somersby from home-grown raw materials (apples)
but that apple juice producers in the Republic of Croatia produce cloudy juice
You’ve also expressed a desire for that to come to fruition
This is a logical question that always arises when we talk about the production of Somersby in Croatia – the question of the use of locally grown apples
The thing is that for the production of cider we need high quality apple juice which has certain characteristics
Every time they ask us this question ”do you want to get those apples in Croatia” the answer is simple – yes
But if there are no manufacturers who produce this product
The first association to cider for Croats is Somersby
stated that this drink is more for younger people
they also said that the unit price in stores and bars is still too high
What actually is the target audience of Somersby cider in Croatia
The truth is that Somersby is considered more of a drink for a younger audience
and its optimistic because consumers think of Somersby when they talk about cider
We found that consumers love the fact that we offer them a variety of flavours at Somersby
and that they consider it a refreshing summer drink
Since Somersby is in a different price segment than beer
we had feedback that consumers aren’t the happiest with Somersby’s prices in some cafes
But pricing in bars is something we can’t influence much
because it’s a matter of the owners and their business decisions
you know from personal experience that some locations in Croatia
simply have higher prices than the average Croatian consumer considers affordable anyway
How much of a market share do your beer brands hold
and it’s something that isn’t going to change
so now we offer an even better choice in our main segment of stock
now we have an offer for every taste – from Golden and Lager
And that’s just the beginning – Grimbergen
Blanc 1664… Our portfolio of international brands provides even greater breadth to our consumers
we hold about 17 percent of the market and of course we want to grow that share even more
Most people’s income was limited due to the pandemic
with closed bars and bans on larger gatherings…
We’re unable to provide complete data for 2020 because the financial report hasn’t yet been published
Everyone’s lives changed in 2020 and it’s hard for me to remember an industry or sector that hasn’t been affected by that change
our partners in the HORECA segment have been hit hard
not to mention the situation with the event industry… these segments are still suffering and of course this is affecting us
It’s hard to say when things will get better
but we ended 2020 without any need to stop production and we managed to protect our employees and our business
Carlsberg Croatia employs 300 people – how did you continue to organise production and the entire business with regard to the epidemiological measures
Now that we’ve entered the second year of the pandemic
things are already well established and we’ve adapted to these new ways of working
There was so much that was unknown about this virus… I remember at one point we had a paper quarantine because we didn’t want to endanger our colleagues who deal with export paperwork
Then came the shortages of protective equipment – in the spring of 2020
at one point we even used Somersby’s wine base to make disinfectants
We teamed up with a small distillery and a disinfectant manufacturer and produced quantities that allowed us to give each employee half a litre of disinfectant so they could take it home and protect their families
We donated the rest to the City of Koprivnica
We did this because it was so hard to get that protective equipment back then
We’re applying various safeguards and we haven’t relaxed
but now that is just another part of our health and safety rules
Did you ask for state support to preserve jobs
given the fact that we believed we could protect our business and that we could get help from the Carlsberg Group
especially from summer as the main period of consumption of your products
capable and in a good position to take advantage of opportunities
our success will depend on market trends and the development of the ongoing pandemic
We hope that the season will be successful and that warmer weather will bring normalisation
I don’t think you could find a person in Croatia who isn’t looking forward to summer and I hope that people will welcome it with a cold Pan or Somersby in hand
Carlsberg is also known for its promotion of drinking responsibly – in the workplace
while driving… How do you view the proposal for new regulations to repeal the provision on how much alcohol a driver can have in their blood
The system is actually simple for the user
when sitting in the car it’s necessary to blow into the test until it stops giving an audible signal
in case the amount of alcohol is within the allowed limits
we motivate our employees to live in scope of the company rule of ”zero irresponsible consumption” on a daily basis
There are countless reasons why you shouldn’t get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol and as a brewer
we’re particularly sensitive to this topic
We believe that we need to make our employees aware of the importance of not driving at all when they drink
When you think about what the regulation of the Labour Law is
then we don’t even need such a measure
But we believe that promoting responsible behaviour and awareness is much more powerful than just relying on regulations
This is how I look at the proposal to change the regulations you’re asking me about – yes
but I think it’s even more important to educate and influence the consciousness of individuals
Changing the law is a relatively easy and fairly quick process
but the effect that will be achieved as a result is questionable
Changing people’s consciousness is a long-term job and a lot more effort needs to be put in there
but it is certain that positive change will happen

The Tourist Board of Koprivnica-Križevci County has traditionally organized ‘Pisanica od srca’
or ‘Easter egg from the heart’.
A famous Easter project by the Tourist Board of Koprivnica-Križevci County, ‘Pisanica od srca’ is an Easter exhibition where large eggs are painted in the style of naive art. The Easter eggs are made of polyester and are 2.05 meters tall and 1.50 meters wide, reports HRTurizam on April 15
Thanks to the cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board
these famous Easter eggs have spread the joy of the holiday throughout the squares
galleries and exhibition spaces of Rome and Vatican City
the Easter eggs are posing proudly in the cities of Olomouc
right in front of the town hall and monument to the Holy Trinity which was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage
The egg was painted by members of the Molve painter’s circle including Martin and Stjepan Đukin
the egg was set in front of the Vinarium Lendava tower
The egg in Berlin was set up at the Berlin Zoo
The egg will adorn the entrance to the zoo through the end of April this year before it is moved to a suitable exhibition
Stjepan Pongrac and Zlatko Štrfiček
Here’s a closer look at the ‘Easter egg from the heart’ tradition
2020 – While much of the younger generation prefers gadgets to traditional crafts
such as Ivan Mlinar from Koprivnica.
A lot of young people have left Croatia to find the place when the grass is greener
a young bladesmith who is fulfilling his dream and finding the grass green enough in Koprivnica
When you realise that Ivan has been involved in reenactment since he was a child
it isn’t surprising that he fell in love with swords and knives
he was showing more significant interest in making them himself
Apart from the influence of the reenactment scene
Ivan’s unusual career decision also had its roots in his time at high school
and Ivan’s interest in the show ‘Forged in Fire’
He started his search for different types of steel
different kinds of material which he found in the local landfill
he needed to figure out how to shape this material without a proper forge
he also made pliers which he is still using
he experimented with many types of steel to see how much he could get from a certain kind
he figured out the scheme of the forging and also how to spend less material
That is how the first hardening knife was born
It was quite surprising how durable that knife was
Ivan was satisfied with it and decided to get more into this story
He got quality materials as well as a gas forge
As his friends were buying brand new mobile phones and Play Stations
he was investing all his money into the workshop
made better knives as well as their functions and handles from various woods
he met a man from England who was interested in his work and wanted to buy something from him
everything was dealt with within 15 minutes
and Ivan more confident in what he was doing
the circle of people who knew about Ivan started getting bigger and bigger
Ivan contacted one of the most famous and one of the best bladesmiths
Kyle is a Master Smith in the American Bladesmith Society and also a professional who enjoys sharing tips and tricks with beginners
Ivan figured out he needed to start from the beginning
Later you figure out you need to learn taking step by step.” So he started again
Ivan is now a member of the American Bladesmith Society
There are three levels you can achieve: Apprentice
you can apply for the Journeyman Smith as in
you have to make a knife good enough to pass tests of durability at one of the Master Smith’s workshop
so they only accept knives that are forged
One of the conditions all members have to respect is they always have to help other people if they are asked for advice
members have the privilege of having their products published on the web site of the ABS
As his love for forging was growing, he wanted to turn his hobby into his job. At the age of 20, he opened a workshop under the name “IM Bladesmithig“
but as bureaucracy in Croatia takes some time to do its job
the workshop officially opened its doors in December
“You really need to prepare your nerves for that
they weren’t quite sure what they needed to do
They don’t want to reveal to you all the details you have to know
close your firm and return the money to them.”
People in Croatia still aren’t familiar with the quality of forged knives
I always say you have to take care of the blade
people don’t want to buy things which they have to take care of
but it always turns out that cheap things are the most expensive ones.”
There are always those people who think they know more than the person who’s the actual job that is
Ivan has no problem with explaining to people how things are
it takes him from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to get a knife done
He also made handles and cases for knives and all that knowledge he found by himself
There are not many people in Croatia whose job it is
he mentioned starting a YouTube chanal as well as a webpage where all of his products will be available
One interesting thing is that a lot of people asked him for some instructions
They are more than just keen to learn from him
so he is currently thinking about some courses
several orders are awaiting him as well as his wish to make katana
Make sure you support young people by following Ivan on his Facebook page and Instagram
maybe it’s time for replacing your old kitchen knife with a brand new IM knife
Koprivnica uključuje svoje građane u planiranje javnih prostora
Grad Koprivnica raspisao je urbanističko–arhitektonski projektni natječaj za izradu idejnog rješenja rekonstrukcije gradskih trgova - Zrinski trg i dijela Trga bana Josipa Jelačića
U skladu s odredbama Generalnog urbanističkog plana Grada Koprivnice
uređenju javnog prostora se pristupa transparentno i integralno
uvažavajući ulogu i značaj javnog dobra u urbanoj sredini
Kako navodi URBACT Hrvatska
povećava predanost svih dionika o ostvarenju ciljeva
Rezultati ispitivanja objedinjeni u programu natječaja daju interesantan uvid u to kako građani Koprivnice vide javne prostore trgova u svom gradu
a kao češći komentari o potrebnim intervencijama ističu se: zamjena asfalta sa sigurnijom podlogom
uklanjanje prometa i uspostava pješačke zone
više zelenih površina i zelene infrastrukture
više kulturnog i urbanog sadržaja prilagođenog djeci i mladima
izmještanje prodajne aktivnosti i sajmova na druge lokacije
obnova fasade okolnih zgrada i ostatka kontaktne zone
dodavanje umjetničkih instalacija i skulptura
