We also humbly ask for your prayers for Chrissy’s healing
and to give strength to her and her family and friends
We believe that God through Jesus Christ saves and that He has the power to heal any and all sin and affliction
we wanted to share that Chrissy had surgery on February 12th at Stanford Hospital to remove over half of her liver with the tumor
We are happy to share that everything went according to plan
The doctor said they successfully removed the tumor and there were no complications with the surgery
She will stay in the hospital for about a week to recover
She will likely need to take chemo pills for about 6 months to make sure all of the cancer is gone
we think the surgery could not have gone better
but through this whole process Chrissy has been very strong
She is drawing strength from everyone's support
Our family wants to thank all of you for your generous donations and heartfelt prayers
We are truly overwhelmed by all the love and generosity we have received
Chrissy never imagined having cancer and needing to depend on others so much
it has shown her how loved she is by so many people
We thank God and Jesus Christ for all of you
We pray that He blesses all of you for your generous giving
We believe God heard all of you and shined His mercy on Chrissy
She looks forward to being home soon and getting back to her normal routine

Republican candidate and former Sheriff of Merced County Mark Pazin conceded the Assembly race to his Democrat challenger
Pazin issued the following statement to FOX26 News:
"It's been nearly two weeks since Election Day and my opponent and I remain separated by roughly 2,000 votes
Tens of thousands of ballots have been cast in our Assembly race with a few thousand more to count
it does not appear that we have a path forward based on current trends," the statement said
"This race was never about me or Soria
It was always about putting people first after Sacramento has ignored the needs of our Valley for far too long
Our biggest concerns will not be fixed overnight
but it takes the strength of our communities coming together to lift each other up for the greater good."

Pazin points out that despite the global push toward renewable energy
there remains a "balance of work" between traditional and renewable energy
“The global energy crisis has led to a resurgence in investments in traditional energy sectors like gas and coal,” Pazin noted
“These sectors are central to current energy requirements
with much more investment than we saw even two years ago
this doesn’t negate the importance of renewables or battery minerals
albeit with significant challenges in securing funding.”
Pazin’s insights reflect the broader reality that while the momentum toward sustainability is strong
“We’ve had to pivot our focus quite a bit over the last year or two,” Pazin said
“It’s a case of going ‘Back to the Future’
we’ve traditionally done hard rock mining financing
gold projects are again the easiest to get financed
This shift highlights the importance of adaptability in our practice
ensuring that we remain aligned with market realities while continuing to support long-term sustainability goals.”

offering both reliability and the potential for higher returns
Our view is that gas will continue to be a key pillar of energy security and Australian projects will continue to attract significant investment.”
Sinclair observed that there remain numerous hurdles and obstacles before a steady flow of greenfield renewables projects hit the Western Australian market
“The demand for sustainable energy will continue to grow
and we expect government support will play a crucial role in accelerating the development of renewables projects.”
In Western Australia, where resources and energy are vital to the economy, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Perth office is well-positioned to support clients in navigating the complex energy landscape
Leveraging their global network and extensive local knowledge

Calif.{} (KMPH News) A UC Merced student and his mother are under arrest for what investigators are calling a bizarre murder scheme
37-year old Laura Hernandez and her son 20-year-old Erick Hernandez Camarillo are in the Merced county jail on suspicion of murder
The victim was Hernandez's husband and Camarillo's step dad
The Merced County Sheriff's Department is dubbing the case..
"the nearly one million dollar murder."
Investigator say the suspects took out three separate life-insurance policies
then killed the victim to collect the money
at around 1:30pm deputies responded to a home in the 7900 block of Azuza Road.{} They found 39-year old Alberto Rodriguez Macias dead inside the house.{} Merced County Sheriff Mark Pazin said the victim had been shot twice in the head
"When we got there we found the window had been smashed
but it had been smashed from the inside out," Pazin said
Pazin believes the victim's wife and step son killed Macias for financial gain
"There was nearly a million dollars worth of insurance on Mr
Macias and he's now dead," Pazin said
Hernandez initially told investigators she was with her husband the day he died
he was hungry and so she went across the street to get him some food.{} She said her husband was already dead when she got home
"There were certain indicators on the body that he had been dead longer than when she had left him
the timeline just wasn't jiving," Pazin said.{} "It was all over the board."
Investigators describe Hernandez as "relatively composed" during the ordeal
"Then all of a sudden became distraught," Pazin said.{} "I'm not going to say a best supporting actor role would be proper on this
caused us concern and allowed further investigation into this."
Camarillo graduated as salutatorian at Merced's Golden Valley High School in 2008.{} He was currently enrolled at UC Merced.{} The 20-year old told investigators he was at school the day his step-dad died.{} But
Sheriff Pazin said that alibi didn't pan out
Investigators say it took them nearly three months to make an arrest in Macias's murder because detectives had to go through cell phone records among other evidence.{} Sheriff Pazin says the family was going through a difficult time financially and had recently lost their home to foreclosure
Hernandez and her son remain at the Merced County Jail - without the possibility of being released on bail

(MINA) – Minister of Justice Zoran Pazin has said that he expects all political parties to allow for the best and most competent candidates to be elected to the Judicial Council
so that they can perform the most responsible duties in the Montenegrin judiciary without being indebted to politicians
The MPs are about to vote on the four nominations for the Judicial Council from the ranks of prominent jurists
after the nominees failed to receive the required two-thirds majority support in the Parliament in July
they need the support of three-fifths of MPs
Pazin told Pobjeda that selecting of the best and most competent candidates is an investment in an independent and efficient judiciary
as the cornerstone of overall development and prosperity of Montenegro
“The selection of members of the Judicial Council exclusively based on the criteria of the personal and professional integrity of candidates is a necessary precondition for the independence and functionality of courts and a guarantee for legal certainty and equality of Montenegrin citizens before the law,” the Justice Minister explained
Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
(MINA) – Montenegro has done everything that had to be done for the extradition of Svetozar Marovic
adding that the ball is now in the court of the Serbian authorities
he replied that Montenegro expects an official response from Serbia
I suggest you ask the authorities in Serbia why that is the case,” Pazin told the press
He remarked that Montenegro is working closely with the Kosovo authorities with regard to the extradition of Mario Milosevic and that a positive outcome of that cooperation is expected
After completing his education in Croatia and Slovenia
Mr Krulčić became involved in politics in 1992
Since 1993 he has been a member of the Istrian Democratic Assembly (Istarski demokratski sabor-IDS)
Krulčić was employed in the Municipality of Gračišće as the head of the Administrative Department
He began his more active involvement in the public life of the city of Pazin as president of the city council in 2005
and since 2006 he has been a member of the city government and deputy mayor
He took full responsibility of the city in 2009 and his success was reaffirmed after winning another mandate in the 2017 local elections
His second biggest passion is the production of quality Istrian wines and liquors and he is the winner of many medals (Gold Medal 2010
(MINA) – Montenegro does not expect and does not want the EU to turn a blind eye or admit it to the European Union (EU) before it fully meets all the necessary conditions for full-fledged membership
Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Aivo Oran handed over to Pazin the European Commission’s (EC) 2019 Report on Montenegro
Pazin remarked that the government would probably present some subjects in other light
in particular in regard to the results in fight against organized crime and meeting the requirements for opening of the only chapter left
“But it is the right of our partners in Brussels to give their own view of Montenegro’s progress in the previous period
Montenegro responsibly accepts the work ahead of it
and also expects that its efforts and results will be recognized and confirmed in a timely manner
“Montenegro’s membership in the EU is possible only if we are equally interested in it
the current EC assembly showed that the enlargement policy was alive
and added that the results of the elections for the new European Parliament are the encouragement that the new EC will intensify promotion of such politics
He stressed that the leading position of Montenegro in the current EU enlargement policy is not only an epithet
proved that its institutions are capable of implementing the laws without exception
Pazin expressed belief that the Report will be a clear indication to all EU member states that Montenegro has achieved notable progress in the area of the rule of law and that it is willing to open negotiations by the end of the year in the remaining Chapter 8
but also to obtain the closing benchmarks in chapters 23 and 24
He announced that the Government will pay special attention this year to fulfilling certain recommendations he believes can contribute to further strengthening of credibility and trust in the institutions of the system
Orav stated that the EC published the Strategy for the Western Balkans a year ago
which stated that the enlargement is possible if certain criteria are met
and that essence of that process is represented in chapters 23 and 24
“We hope that Montenegro will be the first country to meet the interim benchmarks regarding those chapters”
that there is low level of confidence in electoral process
and that this electoral framework should be revised
Orav emphasized that the boycott of the parliament by the opposition MPs was current last year
adding that Brussels believes that all accusations regarding corruption demand credible and thorough approach and responses
“We also believe that returning of political debate to the parliament is a responsibility of all actors”
Orav said that certain progress was noted regarding fight against corruption
independence and defining priorities with the Anti-Corruption Agency are necessary
He noted that progress was not observed in the field of freedom of expression and added that RTCG’s independence is a very serious problem
He remarked that the report is a good document
as well as that the EU will support the Government in implementation of the recommended measures and assist it financially
Asked if he believed that processing Slavoljub Stijepovic would be an adequate response to the Envelope affair
Pazin said that there is no untouchable individuals in democracy
but did not want to comment on possible Prosecution’s decisions
Asked if Montenegro is still a leader in the region in the integration
and that Montenegro opened almost all chapters
and that he encourages it to continue towards that goal

Ask any resident of Zagreb trying to sleep through summer with the window open
When city streets fell silent during the height of the Corona lockdown
Roads – wide like rivers in spring – appease the ever-increasing flow of traffic from the suburbs
the Croatian capital’s appearance has changed considerably in the last 10 – 15 years
what kind of city will the mayor bequeath when he eventually leaves office
one heralded achievement has been that Zagreb has become a multi-ethnic
whether you’re a fan of the mayor or not
The gangs of tourists guided around summertime streets are not the only exotic new additions here
Zagreb’s population has evolved to embrace folks from all over the world
And nowhere is this more noticeable than in choice of food on offer
Where once you’d have struggled to find much beyond pekara and pizza
Zagreb’s food menu now boasts cuisine from all over the world
as new arrivals have broadened the palette of the city
just as many locals have been inspired to offer alternative eats
we’ll take a look at some of the best that’s now on offer and get the story behind these businesses and their food
just a few minutes walk from Kvaternikov trg or Džamija (Meštrović Pavilion / Home of Croatian Artists)
Lazeez is an informal cafe and takeaway that specialises in the food of Lebanon
where owner Ihab Abisaid originally comes from
there are few greater rewards after a morning’s shopping on the outdoor market
than relaxing on the covered terrace of Lazeez
snacking on a salad or the best hummus in the city
they offer a range of platters and authentic kebab-like wraps
In 2011 I came here and opened the city’s first Lebanese restaurant on Radnička
I worked there for two years and then went back to Moscow
It’s so safe here and the weather is so much better
It’s a great place to raise a family.
I came back in 2018 and ran a restaurant on Tkalčićeva with a partner
before moving here to set up Lazeez on my own
I go back to Lebanon twice every year to visit my extended family
we don’t use any pork meat here simply because it just isn’t used in Lebanese food
In Lebanese cuisine there are lots of vegetarian dishes
We make falafel from chickpeas and our sandwich wraps are flavoured with Lebanese sauces
which are a completely different flavour to what you can find elsewhere in Croatia.
Falafel and side dishes at Lazeez © Veki Pazin
I think people enjoy the food here because it’s natural and healthy
The spices we use are more exotic than you would find in local cuisine
Cumin features a lot and there is a classic Lebanese mix that contains seven spices in measured amounts
and it’s key to giving our food its Lebanese identity
Our full-time chef is from Syria and she is essential – Syrian food is quite similar to Lebanese
Before Corona we had one guy from Algeria working here
On our terrace every day you can meet people from many different countries and cultures
although most of our customers are Croatian
what’s most noticeable is the change in mentality
accepting of outsiders and willing to try new things
I think people are more interested in eating healthy now
You can find Lazeez Lebanese cafe at Zvonimirova 59
(MINA) – By integrating the countries of South East Europe that respect and promote Europe’s civilizational values
the European Union has a historic chance to establish a unique model of lasting peace and prosperity on the entire European continent
Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pazin has stated
Speaking at a special event dedicated to regional stability in Europe
organized within the Crans Montana Forum in Geneva on Thursday
Pazin voiced his confidence that the new enlargement to Europe’s South East in the near future would give a strong international credibility to the EU’s values and policies and boost its global competitiveness
According to a press release from the Government’s PR Service
the Deputy Prime Minister remarked that Montenegro is an example of success of European policy in South East Europe
“Since we restored our independence and embarked on a journey of European and Euro-Atlantic development 12 years ago
the value of our economy has doubled and today we generate some of the highest growth rates in Europe,” Pazin stated
He added that Montenegro is contributing actively to international peace and security through NATO and acts as a reliable anchor and promoter of European values and rules in South East Europe
Pazin underlined that today’s complex socio-political and security environment in Europe and the world requires European leaders and citizens to demonstrate great wisdom and determination in building the European Union’s global competitiveness
but also as a progressive civilizational idea
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the EU
as a unique supranational project of peace and prosperity
must actively and eagerly advocate and promote on the global scene its values and accomplishments
“And it must not allow the retrograde and dangerous ideologies of nationalism
isolationism and extremism to impose themselves as legitimate alternative models for European and global development,” Pazin concluded
