It's good that so many airports are up on last year Ljubljana finally back to growth as well does make me happy Should be a good summer for Ljubljanahttps://www.exyuaviation.com/2025/02/ljubljana-set-for-strong-growth-as.html Strong capacity growth by many airlines serving Split Split I expect won't grow as fast as it did in the past years mostly due to capacity constrains and limited room for growth single airline and apron limit the potential high season capacity to maximum of 150 air operations per day if they expand the runway and add a taxiway Also expanding apron/platform further west would add to this capacity issue airport is expected to handle between 3.85 and 4.0 million this year.Dubrovnik Airport however 3.4-3.5 million passengers highly probable it could match Split airport and in 2027 it is expected to surpass Split Airport traffic Zagreb is on the way to 4.8-5.0 million passengers this year but it is very likelly it'll be a lot more this April I think it is only in Q2 because of April cuts Hopefully it’s just a seasonal adjustment A clear indication that secondary airports like Zadar face a tough time when Ryanair reduces focus Heavy reliance on one carrier is always risky 50.000 less seats oferred out of one million is peanuts and does not mean any bubble burst or tough time with FR it's very much possible these 5 percent less seats is just "fine tuning" which will increase LF and enable further growth in future instead predicting catastrophy without any ground for it I think for ZAD overall it will be a good summer ZAG should be number 1 n Q3 because of the new Croatia Airlines routes Belgrade will be number 1 in Q3 as Air Serbia will have 5 more scheduled routes as well as 2 more charter routes during whole Q3 Wizz Air will also have much more frequencies during Q3 It's crazy how much capacity Ryanair is adding in Zagreb with just one new route Remember that they added a couple of new routes last year which started mis summer They're boosting capacity on quite a few routes as well Imagine how big Bravo Hrvatska could it be if Croatia Airlines were real airline with decent network and double bigger fleet using Zagreb as real hub for its coast and entire SE Europe instead of irrelevant miserable feeder with 13 % of market share 😕 Actually I'm positively surprised by the growth in Nis considering the decline in numbers they are having So we will see if the capacity increase translates into pax increase I'm guessing they will start growing again from June finally the airport and city living up to its potential Ryanair is clearly making a huge difference in putting the airport back on the map Sarajevo finally living up to the potential it has (and size) it was ridiculous that airports like Podgorica Ljubljana and Skopje had (or still have) more passengers than Luckily things are settling in its place slowly :) Mostly because of incompetence of prior management from several years ago strange that the management that led to this growth were fired last year Good to finally see some positive numbers for Rijeka I wonder what Pozdrav from Rijeka has to say about that :D Speaking growth percentage comparing to last year Rijeka numbers are very very low and absolutely not satisfactory If you think Rijeka region should be satisfied having 15 TIMES less passengers than Split or DOUBLE or TRIPLE less passengers than NiĆĄ you can put not one but much more smileys at the end of your post Basically 2 out of top 3 airports seeing big growth due to Ryanair And the entire Ex-Yu is extremely price sensitive where is KVO capacity increase coming from Air Serbia has same frequencies as last year The operating days of the flights in Q2 2025 compared to Q2 2024 means there are several additional flights compared to the same three-month period last year Morava Airport is completely underutilized Why not try to attract more turboprop operators and make it a viable option for central Serbia because that way BEG will lose traffic and that is not acceptable ^ You are so smart I don't know where to begin The only reason Morava has any flights is because the government is subsidizing flights Have you thought maybe that there is little demand for Morava Airport Use your brain for once in your life before writing nonsense He is a graduate of the zama aviation academy Was expecting bigger growth from Mostar considering the Sky Alps flights But do remember they had flights on some routes last year too All are low frequency and with small aircraft Belgrade leading the way isn’t a surprise given Air Serbia’s and Wizz Air's expansion Considering BEG had the biggest decrease in seats in Q4 24 and Q1 25 The decline in those two quarters was because of Wizz And the increase now is thanks to Wizz too Belgrade Airport relies way too much on Air Serbia and Wizz But they are big operators at BEG and it is difficult to compete against them Ryanair would turn everything on its head at BEG But they are not brave enough to come to BEG I'm sure that FR out of all cities in Europe is scared of BEG JU and W6...This is some next level Balkan delulu Just deny other comment without any argument is somewhat pathetic I'm very happy to see Tivat back to growth Third in a row by "impressivness" Too bad we are not talking Intergalactic Spaceship bright and shiny A220 Imagine amount of impressivness for that one đŸ€ŁđŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł Would be nice to get the monthly breakdown I guess most of this BEG growth is in May and June Glad to see SA finally catching up with others it should have been like this a long time ago it is the three biggest and most influential cities in Ex-Yu anyway and also on highway in at least two directions and was always bigger then Sarajevo in Yugoslavia (at least for decades). And also Ljubljana today is MUCH MORE influential than Sarajevo Sarajevo today is not in any aspect more important or even more influentian than Sarajevo.Name we in what? And i am from Serbia Sarajevo and Ljubljana metropolitan zones (not cities it is also a capital of a much smaller country than Bosnia Sarajevo's urban core and city center is much bigger than the one of Skopje Sarajevo has far more superior architecture is a much bigger and popular touristic center not to mention Sarajevos significance with the 1st world war that is the only advantage over Sarajevo that it has 23:42 Sarajevo have better infrastructure then Skopje and better public transport Dude in sarajevo there is still holes and shrapnell signs on almost every building did you see how many new buildings are in Skopje now and how fast the city is developing go visit Skopje see what boulevards haz ,buildings and compare what Sarajevo has from all that things Dont just write non sense comments and compare Nis with Skopje The only true you said is yes Bosnia had more population then Macedonia ,but Skopje is way modernizate then Sarajevo ;) Good to see that Tuzla and Banja Luka are recovering and adding more passengers but also a moment for SJJ management to question the master plan developed for the airport SJJ had 1.820.000 pax in 2024 and the new terminal is designed for 2.000.000 With the current growth SJJ will have 2.200.000 pax by the end of 2025 was already struggling during summer of 2024 I cannot imagine what will happen this summer with more passengers The point is that SJJ doubled its number of passengers in 2–3 years Now the question is: was it poor planning or strong growth to blame for this situation which isn't that huge in infrastructure terms there was covid but most airports managed to accelerate projects during the pandemic But even when construction was going on people were warning that the airport would quickly again be operating at full capacity plus there is Freebird charters which means those numbers above will ne even higher👏 How many Freebird charters are there per week and after that starts again in Octomber with one addition Vienna EX-YU Aviation News does not tolerate insults, excessive swearing, racist, homophobic or any other chauvinist remarks or provocative posts with the intention of Attractions are open all year long with each season bringing its own perks (summer is the city’s festival season; winter has some great Christmas markets) How to get from the airport: There are several straightforward options to get between Zagreb’s main airport and the city center Buses cost around €6 (US$6.30; tickets can be bought from the driver) while a taxi runs about €15–20 (US$15.75–21); Uber and Bolt are also available Car rentals are also very easy and cheap if you plan on traveling outside the city (€24/US$25.20 per day) Getting around town: For most visitors, a combination of walking, trams and buses is the best way to get around Where to stay: If you’re on a budget, try Swanky DormsHotel JĂ€gerhorn is a stylish boutique in the Old Town, while Esplanade Zagreb Hotel offers a five-star experience What to pack: A good pair of sneakers for exploring the city’s cobbled streets (and a hike on Sunday) Morning: Check into the Esplanade for a bit of old-world glamor Originally built in 1925 to host passengers traveling on the Orient Express before being taken over by the Gestapo and Wermacht as their HQ during WWII it has since become an A-lister hangout and is a great place to have a coffee before starting your day How to spend the day: Zagreb can be roughly split into two areas: Upper Town (the oldest part of the city and its historic heart) and Lower Town (its cultural and commercial hub). Head to Upper Town first via a quick ride on the funicular railway to begin your day of sightseeing Don’t blink: the ride is over in under a minute which is why it holds the title of the world’s shortest funicular it’s a slice of Croatian history in motion being one of the oldest methods of transport in Zagreb This ode to heartbreak shares personal stories and even more personal possessions about love and breakups On your way down to Lower Town, weave your way through the medieval Stone Gate, popular for its shrine to the Virgin Mary and often lit up with candles. If you have time, finish up with a visit to the Grič Tunnel which was built in 1943 as a shelter for civilians during WWII got reactivated during the Croatian War of Independence and later hosted one of the country’s first underground raves in the 1990s it’s often used as an event space and displays a different light show every year during the city’s Advent festival (between November and January) Dinner: Zagreb’s food scene is thriving at the moment, with chefs like Mario Mandarić (formerly of the UK’s The Fat Duck) returning home to redefine traditional flavors at his Michelin-starred restaurant Noel. He also recently opened Bistro 96 which mixes French classics with traditional Croatian dishes like plum dumplings After dark: For something a little different, check out the Kino TuĆĄkanac, a hidden art-house cinema that shows late-night indie and classic movies. Finish with a cocktail at Stay Swanky, which serves local craft beer and coffee by day and turns into a cocktail bar by evening, or Dezmen Mini Bar with its menu of signature and classic cocktails Morning: For breakfast on the move, swing by Korica bakery, which has a selection of tasty pastries and baked goods (if you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss the indulgent sugar-crusted cruffins). Then head to Zagreb’s central Dolac Market (open 7am to 1pm) for a slice of local life this market has hosted traders since 1926 and is where many residents and local restaurants get their daily produce Dinner: Book a table at Lanterna na Dolcu for an authentic Croatian dinner Set in a three-century-old basement with a vaulted brick ceiling this family-run restaurant buys its ingredients fresh every day from Dolac Market (which you’ll have visited in the morning) Start with a board of local Istrian ham and Pag cheese then take your pick from any one of the delicious mains (they’re all excellent) – like the seafood-and-tomato risotto so will be able to pair your food with excellent regional wines Morning: Grab a late breakfast at La Ć truk a small restaurant (open from 11am) dedicated to serving one thing: ĆĄtrukli This traditional dish is a type of dough that’s either baked or boiled usually filled with a ricotta-style cheese and topped with cream It’s an indulgent way to start off the day Dinner: For your final dinner, book a table at Pod Zidom Bistro. Recommended by Michelin for the last six years, it serves up tasty dishes like beef croquettes and rabbit ragu lasagna. Its owners also pride themselves on their wine selection – so don’t leave without trying a glass (or two). By Vinay Siwach Croatia (February 5) -- Spencer LEE (USA) did not compete internationally for eight years after winning his U20 world title in 2016 But in a year since he came back in February 2024 Lee has competed in six tournaments in less than a year Lee competed at the Henri Deglane Grand Prix in January and won gold Two weeks later he won the Zagreb Open gold medal at 57kg on Wednesday marking his debut at a Ranking Series event The Paris Olympic silver medalist led a strong performance of the wrestlers from United States as they won two gold medals as six weight classes concluded on day one of the Zagreb Open at Arena Zagreb A post shared by Olympic Wrestling (@unitedworldwrestling) Lee did not look as dominant as he did in Paris before the final but still managed to pull out a good defensive game and win the gold medal with rather ease. In the final, Lee defeated Islam BAZARGANOV (AZE), 6-2, after a similar win over Roman BRAVO YOUNG (MEX) in the semifinals. He opened the day with an 11-0 drubbing of Luka GVINJILIA (GEO). "It's good to get competition right now," Lee said. "[It] showed that I'm really not ready yet." Though Lee was not convinced about his readiness, his coach Dan DENNIS kept pushing Lee and reminded him of the progress he is making bout after bout. "I think it [progress] comes from being more successful early and then I was in on three shots, kicked out of all three of them," he said. "He's (Dan Dennis) just saying that you just kind of kept progressing. You even got taken down, good counter from him, got to keep wrestling, keep moving." In the final, Lee scored two takedowns, first one a double-leg and second a counter, as his scoring actions to beat Bazarganov, a bronze medalist at the European Championships last year. The win takes second-ranked Lee to 43000 ranking points, same as top ranked Rei HIGUCHI (JPN), the gold medalist from Paris Olympics. If Lee can finish top eight at any other Ranking Series or Pan-Am Championships, he will move to the top. However, Lee was not sure if he will be in action internationally before the World Championships. "I think that ranking tournaments are awesome because good guys come," he said. "The points are obviously a nice bonus to that just because you can get seeded in the bracket. I love competing. Obviously I need more of it. So maybe. This tournament was tough. So good for me." Zahid VALENCIA (USA) won the 86kg gold medal in Zagreb. (Photo: United World Wrestling / Kadir Caliskan) Zahid VALENCIA (USA) was the second gold medalist for the U.S. as he won gold medal at 86kg after beating Arsenii DZHIOEV (AZE), 8-0, in the final. Valencia was good with his counters and after building a 4-0 lead at the break, he scored two more takedown in the second period to win the gold medal. The two bronze medals at this weight class went to Nathan JACKSON (USA) and Trent HIDLAY (USA), making sure all three U.S. wrestlers finish on the podium at the weight class. Ahmad JAVAN (IRI) defeated Ibrahim KHARI (IRI) 10-0 in the 61kg final. (Photo: United World Wrestling / Kostadin Andonov) Iran also won two gold medals but the tournament left it with more questions than answers for the Asian Championships team. At 61kg, Ahmad JAVAN (IRI) defeated Ebrahim KHARI (IRI) 10-0 to confirm his spot for the Asian Championships. Khari, who won silver at the U20 World Championships last year, failed to give Javan a fight in the final. Prior to the final, Javan defeated Nashon GARRETT (USA) 7-2 in the quarterfinals and Giorgi GONIASHVILI (GEO) 9-3 in the semifinals. Abbas EBRAHIM (IRI) defeated Joseph MC KENNA (USA) 8-6 in the 65kg final. (Photo: United World Wrestling / Kadir Caliskan) Abbas EBRAHIM (IRI) undoubtedly gave Iran its biggest win of the day as he came back to beat Joseph MC KENNA (USA) 8-6 in the 65kg final. McKenna got the first two takedowns to lead 4-0 before Ebrahim answered with his own to lead 4-4 at the break. Ebrahim began the second period with another takedown to go ahead 6-4 but with less than a minute to go, McKenna hit ankle pick and transitioned into a leg-attack. He scored a takedown to lead 6-6 on criteria. In the dying seconds of the bout, Ebrahim  tried a front headpinch but McKenna defended it as he had Ebrahim's one leg locked. However, the Iranian managed to get his leg out of McKenna's hands, he tried to circle back and complete a takedown but McKenna held his knee pad which was penalized as one point, giving the win to Ebrahim 7-6. The United States challenged that call but it remained and McKenna was docked one more point for lost challenge, making the score 8-6. Both Iran and the U.S. had two silver medalists as well after Sina KHALILI (IRI) lost the final at 70kg and David CARR (USA) dropped the final at 74kg. Kanan HEYBATOV (AZE), a former U20 world champion, gave no chance to Sina KHALILI (IRI) in the final and shut him down for a 12-1 win victory. The weight class also had Paris Olympian and 2023 world champion Iszmail MUSZUKAJEV (HUN) who was stunned in the first bout of the day by Jarrett JACKQUES (USA) who scored a takedown in his 3-2 win Muszukajev. Carr ran into three-time world medalist Tajmuraz SALKAZANOV (SVK) in the final and finished with a silver medal at 74kg. Salkazanov scored a takedown on each side of the break to complete a 4-0 win. Zagreb from quirky museums to drinking coffee in cool cafes Once seen as a mere stop-over on the way to the Adriatic Coast, Zagreb has firmly placed itself on the map of small European cities on the rise. The capital of Croatia is a laid-back beautiful city that’s big on culture and pavement cafes with vivacious street life spanning all four seasons a clutch of offbeat museums and green spaces galore Wander through the Upper Town with its dense history and cobblestone charm See the domes and ornate frippery of the Lower Town with its mash-up of architectural styles and green hideaways Check out Zagreb’s quirky museums and dive into the city’s small but burgeoning art scene do as locals do and head to a cafe for coffee.  Cafe culture is just the most obvious facet of Zagreb’s irrepressible energy which is fueled by a year-round bounty of public events pop-up markets and food stalls to squares and parks across the city.  Whether it’s your first visit to Croatia’s capital city or your fifth These 22 best things to do in Zagreb are a great place to start Immerse yourself in local life at Dolac Market a bustling farmers market dotted with red parasols and countless stalls overflowing with fresh fruit and vegetables the so-called “belly of Zagreb” offers a field day for photographers as vendors from all over Croatia gather to hawk their garden-fresh produce.  The main part of the market sits in an elevated square; at street level Head to the northern end of the market for locally produced honey Planning tip: Right by the fish shop on Dolac a frozen-in-time spot serving traditional Croatian dishes and fresh seafood from next door From romances that withered to broken family connections, the wonderfully weird Museum of Broken Relationships explores the mementos left behind when a relationship ends On display are donations from around the globe ranging from the hilarious to the heartbreaking Check out the adjacent gift store – their “bad memories eraser” is a bestseller – and the cozy cafe with pavement tables Planning tip: Purchase the Zagreb Card for free transport all around the city and free entry to five top city museums including the Museum of Broken Relationships Brace yourself for a loud boom at noon sharp every day in Zagreb. It’s not an explosion but the sound of the Grič cannon in the Lotrơčak Tower which has been marking midday for the last 100 years Built in the mid-13th century to protect the south city gate from invaders the medieval tower is an Upper City icon with a wonderful panoramic viewpoint upstairs open to visitors (except on Mondays) for sweeping Planning tip: If you climb the Lotrơčak Tower take a moment to browse the exhibitions on the first and second floor as well as the souvenir shop on the ground level.  The spires of Croatia’s largest religious building, the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary have soared over the city for eight centuries The original structure has been transformed and reconstructed many times due to fires and earthquakes but its signature neo-Gothic look came about at the turn of the 20th century.  the interior was closed for repairs after an earthquake in 2020 which knocked the top off the southern spire and caused other damage Planning tip: From mid-April to mid-October check out the twice-monthly changing of the guard ceremony Reenactors wearing traditional soldier garb known as the Cravat Regiment join the celebrations and the pageantry starts at Trg Bana Jelačića at noon and continues to the cathedral.  This eastern Stone Gate to medieval Zagreb is a serene spot to pause while wandering around the city a great fire in 1731 destroyed the original wooden gatehouse but spared the painting of the Virgin and Child People believe that the painting possesses miraculous powers light candles and leave flowers as offerings.  One of the most beautiful cemeteries in Europe, Mirogoj is a monumental graveyard designed in 1876 by Austrian-born architect looks like an imposing fortress from the outside but it feels calm and graceful on the inside.  The final resting place of some 300,000 souls Choose a dry day for a rewarding stroll along its maze of leafy lanes and look out for the graves of luminaries such as Dr Franjo Tuđman The steep streets of the Upper Town can be a strain on the knees, but luckily there’s a shortcut. The city’s iconic blue funicular said to be the world’s shortest cable railway used for public transport has connected the Lower and Upper Towns of Zagreb since 1890 has great views and costs almost nothing – catch the funicular from Tomićeva and disembark by the LotrĆĄčak Tower.  This boutique craft brewery and taproom is worth the schlep out to Žitnjak Inside the huge glass atrium of an old brick factory Garden Brewery offers 20 taps pouring their house ales fresh from the source.  The brewery stages a variety of events including farmers markets There’s street food on-site and guided brewery tours take place at weekends The 13th-century St Mark’s Church is one of Upper Town’s most iconic sights The show-stopper here is the glazed tile roof so take the chance to peek inside if you happen to be around at the right time.  be sure to stop for a beer or a glass of gemiĆĄt (white wine diluted with sparkling water) in Zagreb’s oldest cafe Connecting Mesnička and Radićeva, the mystery-laden Grič Tunnel provides a welcome respite from the summer heat Built in 1943 for use as a World War II bomb shelter fashion shows and holiday festivities.  Enter from Mesnička or below Stross and exit via the passageway just off Ilica Planning tip: If you visit Zagreb during Advent the tunnel hosts an immersive holiday-themed light show.  Zagreb is home to quite a collection of unique museums. In Upper Town, go retro at the Zagreb 80s Museum where kids can have fun dressing up in 80s fashions and trying to figure out how all those low-tech gadgets work.  In Lower Town, you can take in drunken tales at the Museum of Hangovers on VlaĆĄka the New Wave Museum will take you on a musical journey back to the late 1970s and early 1980s when the city was the focus of a thriving punk rock scene In the Typhlological Museum on DraĆĄkovićeva, you can experience artwork by the visually impaired and learn about Braille. At the Chocolate Museum on Gundulićeva admission includes a chocolate tasting straight from your ticket which comes in the form of a chocolate box.  Travelers can learn the difference between hemp, cannabis and marijuana (still very much illegal in Croatia) at the Cannabis Museum on Trg kralja Tomislava, or view a collection of 1200 freeze-dried mushrooms at the Mushroom Museum on Splavnica One of the most scenic ways to approach the Upper Town is along this steep Tourists come to see its historic townhouses now home to gift shops and boutiques selling local arts artisan food products and designer fashions Take your time investigating the storefronts – some offer samples of drinks such as rakija (grappa) and other treats to fuel your journey Detour: Don’t miss the street art that adorns the Zakmardi Steps (Zakmardijeve) that lead up from Radićeva towards Stross pedestrianized Tkalčićeva – Tkalča to locals The street is lined with pastel-colored townhouses and cafe terraces that bustle with life day and night.  Another great place or people-watching is  Zagreb’s main square, Trg Bana Jelačića, with an equestrian statue of Ban Jelačić and clock tower that serve as the area’s main rendezvous points Sit in one of the cafes and watch the tram loads of people getting out greeting each other and dispersing among the newspaper kiosks and flower stalls lining the strip towards Dolac.  Planning tip: Ban Jelačić Square kicks off the winter holiday festivities in Zagreb with its renowned Christmas market and the ceremonial lighting of the city’s first advent candle Officially called Trg Nikole Ć ubića Zrinskog, but lovingly known as Zrinjevac this verdant square is a popular hangout on sunny weekends and it serves as the venue for many festivals and events most centered on its ornate music pavilion.  Zagreb’s lovely botanical garden steps from the main train station on Marulićev trg has a maze of meandering paths that are perfect for serene strolling and thoughtful meditation parterre flowerbeds and a pretty wooden bridge Look out for the Red Pavilion, an elegant piece of traditional wooden architecture. Just outside the gardens is Botaničar a stylish cafe and bar that makes a handy spot to stop for lunch or a drink The eastern edge of the city center has become a hot and happening neighborhood Hailed as Zagreb’s “Design District,” though few locals really call it that Stop at the book-themed cafe, Booksa, to chat and drink coffee, browse the library and hear live book readings. Along the pedestrian strip of Mala Martićeva, with its colorful, mural-painted pavement, you’ll find Program a chic cafe-bar and neighborhood hub.  A short walk away lies one of the coolest bars in Zagreb, the buzzy and smoke-filled Mr Fogg, with its dark steampunk interiors spread across two floors. Pizzeria Park on Mala Martićeva is the area’s go-to stop for doughy goodness Detour: On the outer edge of Zagreb’s design district, Galerija Miroslav Kraljević explores contemporary art with work by international and Croatian artists Specialty coffee in Zagreb has become one of the city’s top draws with Ilica’s Elis Caffe kicking off the movement. Then came Cogito Coffee, Croatia’s top boutique roasters, with a focus on fresh, in-season coffee beans. Another roastery and coffee shop worth checking out is Quahwa which serves some of the finest Arabica beans in Zagreb from strong lattes to traditional Turkish coffee.  Planning tip: Pair your coffee with a local Zagreb tradition – ĆĄpica happening every Saturday between 11am and 2pm is basically upgraded people-watching while wearing your best clothes and sipping coffee The best places for ĆĄpica are the sidewalk tables along Bogovićeva Even if you’re not spending the night at the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel consider paying a visit to this splendid masterpiece of belle époque architecture Any sunny day is a good excuse for a drink on the gorgeous Oleander Terrace A must-do experience for food lovers is dining at Zinfandel’s where chef Ana Grgić Tomić concocts creative contemporary interpretations of classic Croatian dishes Save room for the legendary ĆĄtrukli at Le Bistro a staple at the hotel since 1951.   The peaceful enclave of Maksimir Park is one of Zagreb’s most treasured green spaces It’s only a 15-minute tram ride to the east of Trg Bana Jelačića The park is landscaped like an English garden lawns and a series of lakes and woods.  The most photographed structure here is the exquisite Vidikovac (Viewpoint) pavilion in the center of the park Also pause to sing a song inside the park’s Echo Pavilion and check out the rustic Swiss Cottage house Located in the southern part of Zagreb, Jarun Lake is a popular getaway for residents Although part of the lake is marked off for boating competitions there’s plenty of space for a leisurely swim head left to Malo Jezero for swimming and canoe and pedal-boat rentals Croatia’s largest and most vibrant flea market you can find everything from everyday items to unique It’s a side of Zagreb you probably won’t see anywhere else – expect lots of Roma visitors music and grilled meat smoking in the food section.  Planning tip: The flea market is about 9km (5.5 miles) from the city center It’s open from 7am to 3pm on Wednesdays and Sundays This article was adapted from Lonely Planet's Croatia guidebook published in March 2024. 8:15 AM EST@layer recipes{.css-107anqq{font-family:var(--chakra-fonts-body);color:var(--components-article-header-hero-author-text-color);font-size:var(--chakra-font-sizes-xs);line-height:1;width:-webkit-fit-content;width:-moz-fit-content;width:fit-content;}html.teamusa-theme .css-107anqq{text-transform:uppercase;}@media screen and (min-width: 80rem){.css-107anqq{font-size:var(--chakra-font-sizes-md);line-height:md;}}}by Savannah Asmann Spencer Woods (87 kg) competes at the 2025 Zagreb Open Ranking Event in Zagreb Croatia – Greco-Roman action continued on the fourth day of the 2025 Zagreb Open Ranking Event in Zagreb The United States had one competitor in the morning sessions Spencer Woods faced Ivan Huklek of Croatia who finished 5th at the 2020 Olympics and 3rd at the 2019 U23 Europeans Woods was hit with passivity and turned three times bringing the score to 7-0 in favor of Huklek Woods managed to score two step-out points Huklek advanced but eventually lost in the quarterfinals resulting in Woods being eliminated from the tournament The action continues at noon EST with the women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman medal matches.
