The Democrat running for Congress in Trumbull County convicted of false voter registration has been sentenced to begin serving a 30-day jail term four days after the November election. A judge in Lake County, Ohio on Thursday ordered that 42-year-old Brian Kenderes begin serving the sentence on November 9, five days after the General Election. Kenderes, of Strongsville, pleaded “guilty" earlier to the charge following an investigation conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Kenderes was turned in by relatives who told deputies that he registered to vote falsely using their Mentor, Ohio address in Lake County when he lives outside the 14th district in Cuyahoga County. Kenderes was unopposed in the primary race for the Democratic party’s nomination to run for Congress in Ohio’s 14th district, which encompasses far Northeast Ohio, including Trumbull County. Incumbent Rep. Dave Joyce handily won the Republican nomination for reelection. In addition to the jail sentence, Kenderes has been placed on probation for two years. He said patients shouldn't be removed from hospital beds with no dependable way home he hopes to bring the different communities of the 7th district together Diemer said he has experience in urban and rural communities "I lived in many of these places, some of my mentors are from rural communities," he told the Daily Record in April "No one wants to see anyone else's point of view," Diemer said in April "I want to navigate solutions and work together." The first of two write-in candidates is Vince Licursi Licursi joined the congressional race because he believes voters should have more options at the polls and wants to see defense-related spending reduced "I could not find a single politician that wanted peace," said Licursi who has worked in sales and distribution and is a school baseball coach "War costs trillions in damages and over 200 people per day are paying for it with their lives." he hopes that withdrawing from conflicts will bring about a lower cost of living and better living standards in the U.S the two are not mutually exclusive," he wrote on his campaign website "Peace brings global stability and a better life for everyone." He said eliminating tariffs would ease international tensions and help Ohio workers he wants to remove the federal income tax overtime Licursi would aim to mandate personal finance lessons and physical fitness programs this would address personal debt and a growing "health problem." Despite this divergence from other Republicans "I 100 percent agree that we need to end abortion but we need to do it responsibly," he said foster and support services for mothers and children He also wants to improve legislative oversight of the judicial branch citing activist judges who "make up laws." With a background as a care coordinator at Applewood Centers but we need to educate the population and help people by planning and walking them through times of crisis," he said "I'm very open with my mental health; I have PTSD and it's a constant fight." While he also hopes to address inflation and focus on clean energy Kenderes said he wants to do all of this with bipartisan support "I like Diemer's moderate approach because I think bipartisanship will make us a family," Kenderes said "The Trumps and the Max Millers are tearing that family apart." Max Miller started his career in the United States Marine Corps Reserve before becoming an aide to President Donald Trump When he declared his intention to run in 2021 Trump quickly endorsed his former senior adviser Miller serves on the United States Holocaust Memorial Council His website outlines several key policies he would support if elected Miller would support restarting construction on a border wall with Mexico to limit immigration and take aim at corporations that limit free speech. He would support legislation that would ban Critical Race Theory in schools and limit "anti-American propaganda," a reference to Trump's controversial 1776 Project He "wants to get gender ideology out of schools," according to his Twitter, referencing anti-LGBTQ efforts in schools and library systems He would limit federal spending and oppose movements to defund the police To learn more about Miller's campaign, visit his website ‘…I consider Miklós Horthy a Hungarian patriot…after the unfair and distorted portrayal of Horthy thanks to new assessments of his character as well as political and historical analyses a fair public image of Miklós Horthy and the eponymous era can be formed…’* the former Regent of the Kingdom of Hungary was forced to emigrate after World War II—he settled in Portugal and died there in early 1957 which was under Soviet occupation from 1945 until the fall of communism the Communists did everything in their power to ensure that Horthy lived on in the public consciousness as a fascist leader the opportunity arose to clarify the historical role of the Regent and His reburial took place 30 years ago in the small town of Kenderes On 4 September 1993, the ashes of Miklós Horthy and their son Miklós Jr were laid to rest in the family crypt in Kenderes the centre of the former Horthy family estate died in Portugal in 1957 and was originally buried there One of his last wishes was for his ashes to be brought home once his beloved country was liberated from Soviet occupation he wrote: ‘My thoughts from the shores of the Atlantic are constantly drifting home to the banks of the Rivers Danube and Tisza which for me cannot be replaced by the most beautiful country in the world the element of life so beloved of my original vocation The sea is deep and infinite… but deeper is my love for my homeland and greater is my longing for the Hungarian land and the Hungarian people!’ Horthy’s ashes were finally brought home three years after the regime change which was not organized by the state but held as a private function was attended by more than 50,000 people—several ministers of the government and members of parliament were present as well a eulogy was given by the representative of the Order of Vitéz founded by the Regent the Regent’s daughter-in-law Mrs István Horthy The words of the grandson had perhaps the greatest impact on those gathered together or watching the ceremony on television who view his grandfather’s life and politics differently from those who sympathise with him He called on his fellow countrymen to look forward and unite for the future rather than to engage in heated debates about the past As a result of the distortions and lies of Communist historiography many people have attributed to Horthy all the wrong decisions made by the governments in power between 1920 and 1945. However, thanks to source-based, unbiased, and objective research, it can now be clearly shown that the Kingdom of Hungary, which lost World War I, suffered the mutilation of the country by the Trianon Treaty and the resulting economic crisis underwent significant development between 1920 and 1937 Another accusation levelled against the period between the two world wars is that of ‘Horthy fascism’ which again shows a serious lack of knowledge neither fascism—an Italian peculiarity—nor national socialism developing in Germany gained ground in Hungary although the country was no democracy in the 21st-century sense which I think it would be a mistake to blame Hungarian society for in hindsight This incitement against the Regent has sometimes physical consequences: for example standing in front of the Church of Homecoming in the 5th district in Budapest on an enclosed private property belonging to the Reformed Church Miklós Horthy was born in Kenderes on 18 June 1868 A naval officer in the Austro–Hungarian Navy he served as aide-de-camp to Francis Joseph between 1909 and 1914 he was the last commander-in-chief of the monarchy’s Navy he was promoted to vice admiral by the newly crowned Charles IV of Hungary following 133 days of communist dictatorship he consolidated state power and played a major role in putting the Kingdom of Hungary back on its feet he served as Regent of the Kingdom of Hungary he was not found guilty of war crimes; however he lived the rest of his life in exile and died on 9 February 1957 in Estoril his ashes were not brought home until Soviet troops withdrew from Hungary The views expressed by our guest authors are theirs and do not necessarily represent the views of Hungarian Conservative Hungarian Conservative is a quarterly magazine on contemporary political philosophical and cultural issues from a conservative perspective The Hungarian Paralympic Committee has announced with deep regret that the founder icon of powerlifting in Hungary Gabor Kenderes passed away on the 10 July 2015 The well-known and internationally acknowledged coach died after long lasting serious illness at the age of 66 The first Hungarian powerlifting competition was organised by him in 1986 He participated in six Paralympics as head coach a bronze medallist in the sport at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games Hungary successfully organised Powerlifting European Championships in 1993 I would sit in the back of classrooms and not talk to people that I didn't know The Department of Political Science celebrated the MPA program’s 50th Anniversary with a reception and hooding ceremony and announced a new discounted tuition rate for government employees a WKU senior in Communication Sciences & Disorders found her calling in speech-language pathology and global insight—from Kentucky to London and beyond The times for the Thursday meetings of the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents have been adjusted The Board will enter closed session at 1:00 p.m. immediately followed by committee meetings in the Martin Regents Room of Jody Richards Hall “I use the leadership skills I’ve learned in my classes and through ROTC to help me effectively complete my duties as a soldier in the KY Army National Guard."
