.st1{fill-rule:evenodd;clip-rule:evenodd;fill:#2a2a2a}By OregonLive.comElizabeth Helen BoczkiElizabeth was born Vadnay Erzsebet in Sajoszentpeter
Hungary in a manger in a barn behind the family home on July 27
Elizabeth moved to Miskolc for a time and then Budapest some time after WWII ended where she worked as an assistant to an engineer who inspected factory construction
She got work in Budapest modeling and acting
but moved back to Sajoszentpeter after the Hungarian revolution of 1956
As a young girl Elizabeth worked in a small sweets bakery in Sajoszentpeter
from the neighboring village of Sajokazinc
At the time they were just children of only eight or nine years of age
She grew up through WWII and the holocaust
She watched many of her friends shipped off never to be seen again
Her father was drafted into the Axis army to fight in the Eastern front leaving her mother
They were devastated when they heard news that her father had been killed
the report was erroneous as he wrote them a letter afterward
They would have to endure two more false reports of his death before he returned home emaciated and unrecognizable after surviving the remainder of the war in a prison camp
Elizabeth ventured to the big city of Budapest where her charm and humor allowed her a degree of success in modeling and acting
When the 1956 Hungarian revolution broke out Elizabeth found herself at the epicenter of the conflict in Budapest
The horrors of what she saw drove her back to her family in Sajoszentpeter
in front of a hospital two men drove by in a 1964 Chevy Impala convertible with American plates
John waived to them and asked them if they needed a ride
Evike talked a reluctant Elizabeth into the ride and this is when she would hit it off with Joseph
After marriage vows another adventure ensued involving the departure from Hungary by car and ship from Genoa to New York City and on to Portland
Joseph and Elizabeth built a real estate business together over the years in Portland and enjoyed life to the fullest
She loved living on a large parcel of land in Pleasant Valley where she had geese
Elizabeth was known for being a practical joker and doing impersonations that would make people laugh for hours
If she couldn't get you to crack a smile with a joke she would resort to tickling
She was a tireless humanitarian with an unwavering love for all people
when on her way to paying a bill she fell over a curb
A few minutes later she found herself looking at the ceiling of the drugstore where she had paid bills for the past 30 years
She didn't think about the incident much and went about her routine
she started having more problems and doctors diagnosed her with multi-infarct dementia
Down to her last hours she was laughing and singing in her bed
Her face was always expressive and she would lock eyes with whomever she was speaking
Those who knew her have been enriched by the feast of experiences she brought to life

The number of bomb threats sent to Hungarian schools is rapidly growing
an 11-year-old student did not want to go to school to write a Maths test
A 14-year-old Hungarian boy sent similar e-mails to high schools in Hódmezővásárhely and Szeged
a 43-year-old Hungarian man threatened embassies
but Telex argues that the bomb threat wave concerning NATO and EU member countries started last spring is part of the Russian hybrid warfare and aims to destabilise members of the Western alliance
The number of bomb threats has been growing lately in Hungary. Based on hvg.hu
an 11-year-old student in Sajószentpéter sent a bomb threat to his school because he did not want to write a Maths test
saying that no students should show up in the school on 23 January because a bomb would explode
Police officers examined the entire school twice due to the threats but found nothing
they could identify the sender and found the draft emails on his phone
The boy admitted his deed and said he did not want to write a test on 23 January
Police wrote about another student who sent bomb threats to two high schools in Hódmezővásárhely and Szeged
He called the police to evacuate all schools
30 officers started to examine all rooms in the four schools
By the fourth day following the reception of the threats
they could identify the perpetrator: a 14-year-old local boy who also admitted his deed
He said he did not want to go to school the other day
Police took him into custody for threat of public endangerment
Police wrote about another similar issue yesterday: a 43-year-old Hungarian national under psychiatric treatment sent bomb threats to 12 embassies between 11 and 28 January
The senders were e-mail addresses and Facebook profiles created using pseudonyms
who is a graduated lawyer and had undergone psychiatric treatment three times before
he denies all charges despite the undeniable evidence
According to Telex
there is a pattern behind the bomb threats concerning schools
They argue that the perpetrators are professionals
they have no connections with the jihadists despite referring to Allah in their threats
and authorities take all actions seriously
The Hungarian news outlet wrote that Russia orchestrated the bomb threat wave
and Putin aims to destabilise NATO and EU members
They say the Russian state outsources such operations and tries to compromise Ukraine
it is not in Kyiv’s interest to destabilise European countries
which support them in their fight against the invaders
Telex believes what Hungary experienced last Thursday amid the mass bomb threats was part of Russia’s hybrid warfare scheme
The Russian hybrid war scheme in this case specifically ties into the Fidesz anti-migrant propaganda campaign against the EU
The “jihadist” bomb scares enables Fidesz to say that they are the fault of “Brussels” for allowing Muslim migrants into Europe
Such Fidesz comments have already been made
Russia wants to create division in Europe and weaken EU and NATO cohesion
This John Woods must be deported to his degenerate country of origin
everything bad happening is because of Putin
Only in this pathetic website they can write such nonsense
and website in this browser for the next time I comment

January 28 (MTI) – Smog alerts have been maintained in Budapest and in several cities and towns across the country due to the high concentration of airborne dust particles
The National Centre for Public Health declared a red alert in Miskolc
Here the concentrations of particulate matter (PM10) in the air exceeds what is considered to be a safe level
orange smog alert for the cities of Budapest
Residents in these towns and cities have been advised to avoid polluted areas and to use public transport instead of cars
The national weather service said no improvement in air quality was likely over the next two days
Air pollution has grown because of the concentration of airborne dust in some Hungarian cities
according to the National Centre of Public Health
In Kazincbarcika, Miskolc, Putnok, and Sajószentpéter, the air is unhealthy, while in Budapest, Debrecen, Eger, Kecskemét, Nyíregyháza, Salgótarján, Százhalombatta, Szolnok, Tököl, Vác, and Várpalota, the quality of the air is highly questionable, wrote Index
In the coming days, the situation is expected to get worse. On Saturday, a cold front is coming with winds that may clear out the air in the central and western regions of Hungary
Index also reported, based on the Nation Centre of Public Health’s update
the air is dangerous as it could cause coughs
and the watering of the eyes even to a healthy person
Air pollution does not only strain the airways but the heart and vascular system as well as the nervous and immune systems
the quality of the air was unhealthy according to the air hygiene index
meaning that the aerosol particles’ concentration exceeded the healthy amount
the air’s quality has worsened since Wednesday
