He’s only 15 years old, but Michael Solt has already lifted himself onto the podium for several major powerlifting medal ceremonies.
In mid-April, Solt captured a bronze medal at the Powerlifting America High School Nationals held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an event that featured 450 participants.
The Jim Thorpe freshman lifted a total of 1,135 pounds combined between the squat, bench press and deadlift events.
“I competed against ninth- and 10th-graders in the 205-pound weight class,” Solt said.
Each lifter cycles through three attempts at each lift, with the highest successful lifts counted toward their final total.
The events are judged, and a foul results in a disqualification for that specific lift. Fouls can be called for several reasons, including failure to observe the chief referee’s signals to start or finish a lift, double bouncing at the bottom of a lift, or improper body positioning throughout the attempt.
“Fouls happen to every lifter at one time or another,” Solt said. “You just have to accept it and not let it bother your mind before your next lift.”
Solt’s bronze medal at nationals follows his gold-medal performances at the Pennsylvania state championships. He won gold in the squat, bench and deadlift events two years ago as a seventh grader competing at 182 pounds, and again last year in the 205-pound division.
Powerlifting, one of the oldest international athletic events, has grown in popularity since the formation of the International Powerlifting Federation in 1972. The United States currently ranks fourth in the world in athlete participation.
“I really got a passion for the sport when I was in seventh grade after my uncle introduced me to powerlifting,” Solt said. “Only three months after I started, I won the state event for my age group at Parkland High School.”
Jim Thorpe coach John McGowan, who has coached lifters for 40 years, sees unlimited potential in Solt’s ever-improving abilities.
“I’ve been coaching for a long time, and Michael is already one of the best lifters I’ve ever had,” McGowan said. “He’s ahead of schedule for his age group. The normal range for the squat lift at his age is around 300 pounds, and Michael is doing about 430. In the deadlift, he’s already surpassing the typical mark by lifting 460 pounds.”
Solt’s parents, Melissa and Michael, have quickly learned about the sport and appreciate their son’s passion for powerlifting.
“As a former dancer, that used to be my passion, so I understand Michael’s love for lifting,” Melissa said. “Of course, as his mother, I can’t help but get nervous every time he lifts, especially during the bench press. It’s important that he has good spotters.”
Michael admits he feels some butterflies at competitions — but they don’t last long.
“Once I get through my first lift, I’m completely calm the rest of the way,” he said.
His father’s confidence comes from seeing his son’s commitment.
“He trains without having to be told,” his father said. “He stays in good shape by doing calisthenics, running, playing football and participating in track. He keeps his body flexible by maintaining that kind of diversity.”
At such a young age, Solt has both short- and long-term goals.
“I want to win the state tournament again, win nationals, and eventually make the junior Olympic team,” he said.
Despite his rigorous training and competition schedule, Solt also shines in the classroom, earning his name on the Principal’s List at Jim Thorpe for outstanding academic achievement.
Not only is he the only local student to win both state and national medals, he also competes on a team of 40 members from Jim Thorpe — the only high school powerlifting team in the area.
This Saturday and Sunday, Solt will defend his state title against lifters from across Pennsylvania. The event will be held at Jim Thorpe High School.
Concrete poetry has defined Mary Ellen Solt’s legacy
her anthology Concrete Poetry: A World View outstripped earlier compilations
chronicling the movement’s origins through international manifestos and analytically characterizing the visual
Solt was also fluent in a broader sphere of language that spanned semiotics and modernist poetry
Her research interests were united by an emphasis on linguistic objecthood
she proposes continuities between concrete poetry and the literary objectivist movement
presenting William Carlos Williams as a proto-concrete model and including a poem by objectivist poet Louis Zukofsky among the collected works
concrete poetry focused on “the physical material from which the poem or text is made,” as she writes in her anthology; likewise
she states that modernist poetry admitted “no dislocation between language and material.”
There is a direct line of correspondence between Solt’s scholarly interests and her creative practice
Solt’s concretist collection included two of her own poems
“Moonshot Sonnet” and “Forsythia,” betraying her interest in capturing the world around her through symbols and text
In The Collected Poems of Mary Ellen Solt—which contains poems written between 1957 and 2007—a body of largely overlooked lyric writing bookends her prolific corpus of concrete poems
showcasing how her concern with linguistic materiality surfaced in different forms across her career
It also includes an afterword written by her daughter
further underscoring the importance of her mother’s scholarly work on and relationship with Williams
The collection shows that Solt’s formalist proclivity—her obsession with the thingness of words—predated her concrete work and engaged in verbivocovisual experimentation
In her early free verse poems “Seascape” and “For William Carlos Williams,” Solt breaks her lines to visual effect
cascading the text like waves down and across the page surface and
using breaks and spacing to illustrate verbs such as “sways” and “fall.” This typographic technique is isolated in her later concrete poem “ZIGZAG,” in which recombinations of the titular word create meandering lines in a reverberant field of Zs
Solt’s lyric poem “Mediterranean” evokes a sense of absence by placing breaks after “searching” and “erases” and splitting “re-/moved” and “de-/sire.” In parallel
her concrete “Poem Without Beginning or End” quadruples each letter of the word and separates these clover-like clusters with line breaks and spaces in a poetics of separation and correspondence
Solt’s minute understanding of visual affect bridges these eras and imbues her work with a visceral resonance
In keeping with Solt’s scholarly and poetic emphasis on the real
her concrete poems intimately link linguistic and material worlds in highly faithful visualizations
and the letters that make up the branches and leaves of “Wild Crab” cohere in a convincing
editor Susan Solt describes her mother holding onionskin paper up to a window to capture these floral likenesses
she doesn’t shirk other possibilities encoded in language
A poem from her “Dogwood” suite becomes musical notation
the Ds and Gs used as their sonic equivalents
while proliferating Os are whole notes on a scale
A later work “Marriage: A Code Poem” is accompanied by ambiguously narrative glossaries
beside which the poems braid into ornate geometries like the worked flourishes on a wrought-iron gate—suggestive perhaps of the endurance of matrimony and its potential both to protect and to cloister
Solt’s meticulousness with form did not stop at composition
The Primary Information publication reflects the extreme care with which Solt oversaw the production of works such as her celebrated book Flowers in Concrete
reproducing this section on a vertically ribbed stock that emulates the laid paper of the original
posters from “The Peoplemover 1968: A Demonstration Poem” have been registered perfectly such that the recto and verso of each page mimic the front-back dynamic of the colorful boards that Solt constructed for a performative countercultural protest
Graphic designer Bryce Wilner’s painstaking treatment of Solt’s poems cannot be understated; many of the poems were entirely digitally reconstructed for this edition
Solt’s poetry and scholarship provide a roadmap that connects the animating sensibilities of different poetic movements
tethering worlds of language often sundered along literary and visual lines
The Collected Poems of Mary Ellen Solt reveals a poet keenly attuned to the material forms that language takes
from the placement of characters on a page to the paper upon which it is printed

The two ETF futures on Solana (SOLZ and SOLT) by Volatility Share will be launched on the market this week
the crypto SOL records a price pump of almost 9% in the last 24 hours.
According to a filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Volatility Shares LLC is launching two Solana futures ETFs
This is the Volatility Shares Solana ETF (SOLZ) which will track Solana futures and the Volatility Shares 2X Solana ETF (SOLT)
These products are the first of their kind
namely funds that track Solana futures.
The document states that the SOLZ will have a management fee of 0.95%
while for the SOLT traders will have to pay 1.85%
Experts predict that the approval for a spot Solana ETF in the USA may also depend on a consolidated futures market
there is talk of this same week as the launch date on the market for the two Solana futures ETFs SOLZ and SOLT.
In this sense, analysts also estimate that there is a 75% chance that the spot Solana ETFs in the hands of the SEC, like the one from VanEck
The news regarding the launch of the first two futures ETFs on Solana seems to have triggered the market in general.
the price of SOL is in a pump of almost +9% compared to 24 hours ago
highlighting a great recovery considering that just two days ago
the sixth crypto by market cap was worth $122.
The trading volume of SOL in the last 24 hours is also registering a good increase of +65%.
the current price of SOL is still very far from the $260 reached last January 23
Another piece of news that emerged this week regarding Solana was the release of an advertisement that sparked various criticisms among the public. In fact, at the beginning of this week, Solana decided to remove this advertisement published on its X account
without making any statement about it at that time
the announcement was used to promote the Solana Accelerate Conference and was removed after reaching over 1.2 million views
It featured an advertising video lasting over 2 and a half minutes and showed a man representing “America,” engaged in a therapy session.
the protagonist expressed thoughts related to technological innovation
The strong controversies were sparked by the psychologist’s responses who
suggested the patient focus on other things like “inventing a new genre” or “concentrating on pronouns.”
decided to comment on the spot as follows:
“The announcement was terrible and it still eats away at my soul
I am ashamed of having downplayed it instead of calling it what it is
namely mean and punitive towards a marginalized group
I am grateful to the developers and artists in the ecosystem who immediately called it what it is
You are the only positive aspect of this whole mess
I will do everything possible to ensure that the Solana Foundation remains focused on its mission of decentralization and open-source software development and stays out of cultural wars.”

The freeing of letters from their function within words is essential to Mary Ellen Solt’s poem “A Trilogy of Rain”: The varying weights of each typed letter in a text block repeating rain visually mimic the pattern of rainfall
a cluster of the words rain and CLOUD release r
and a cascade of raindown subsides and stretches into the widely spaced r a i n b o w
Given the intensity with which Solt wrote about any one concrete poem in her work as a scholar
including as the editor of the seminal anthology Concrete Poetry: A World View (1968)
Having been a major presence in the concrete movement in the United States and internationally
The Collected Poems of Mary Ellen Solt affirms Solt’s experimental reach
as well as the clear affinity she had for splicing a basic word—like rain—only to again and again reorder its parts
Solt’s work as a poet, editor, and translator provided inspiration for Alex Balgiu and Mónica de la Torre’s 2020 anthology Women in Concrete Poetry: 1959–1979 (Primary Information)
in which Solt’s “MARRIAGE: A Code Poem” appears
and this new collection features that work along with four of Solt’s projects and her later poems
Her books Flowers in Concrete (1974) and Words and Spaces (1985)
are representative of classic concrete style
typographic calligrams of the flowers and plants in Solt’s garden merge with mechanical procedures: in “Forsythia,” the letters of the name of the shrub are translated into Morse code with a telegram-like acrostic at its roots
heightening the verbal–visual possibilities of words on a blank page as they intersect with political and environmental themes
such as the bands of text repeating ozonosphere
culminating in the warning “A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER.” Solt also gives in at times to pure language play
as in the rounded-type formation that reads
“What the Girl Might Have Said,” makes Solt’s inner life visible in a rare experience of concrete poetry as distinctly personal
Wrapped up in what she calls “quotidian desire,” Solt connects to the spoken words and daily worlds of her daughters
not unlike other experimental poets—Bernadette Mayer
Solt’s configurations of the words daughters and poppies is interrupted by night
only for daughters and poppies to repeat once more
In the poem “With Child,” Solt ruminates on growing round as the “earth grew round,” but like any concrete poet would
writing of her pregnancy: “why is it i / want to vomit / the thing.” This description also evokes Solt’s concretism
References throughout the collection to the Vietnam War and Watergate provide entry points into concrete poetry’s formative relationship to the cultural landscape of the late 1960s and 1970s
Solt’s project THE PEOPLEMOVER 1968: A Demonstration Poem responds to the turmoil in the US that summer in a series of protest posters Solt made for a live demonstration complete with a libretto
More a performance of New Left politics than political action
the posters join concrete poems with political messages: civil rights modified to “CIV ILL RIOTS” or the A of “The USnaApalm” soaring downward like a bomb
the posters put forth what Balgiu and de la Torre call the “liberatory gestures” central to the concrete movement in the US and elsewhere
Like the posters from this earlier context
concrete poems often become fragments of unseen operations
Solt always makes material stuff of the poem pleasurable; the descending type of her poem “Constellation (‘look’)” takes only six lines: “LOOK // a leaf // the leaf / falls // falls / anyway.”

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has recently listed two Solana futures exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
marking a significant step for the cryptocurrency
The Volatility Shares Solana ETF (SOLZ) and the Volatility Shares 2X Solana ETF (SOLT) represent the first of their kind
offering exposure to the futures market for Solana.
While this listing offers a glimpse into the future of Solana-based ETFs
the move has stirred mixed reactions among market participants
the approval of these ETFs by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) remains uncertain
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has listed the first Solana futures ETFs, issued by Volatility Shares: SOLZ (Volatility Shares Solana ETF) and SOLT (Volatility Shares 2X Solana ETF). Futures ETFs are a pre-step to spot ETFs.https://t.co/7ds1pW1OHX
The addition of Solana futures ETFs on the DTCC platform holds great promise for institutional adoption
This development allows the ETFs to be cleared and settled through the US financial system’s infrastructure.
By ensuring that these investment vehicles are integrated into mainstream financial markets
this listing could open doors for greater institutional participation
It also reflects the growing interest in Solana’s ecosystem
despite the challenges the cryptocurrency has faced over the past week
while the listing of the Solana ETFs on the DTCC is a significant milestone
Regulatory uncertainty surrounding these financial products persists
especially since Solana futures contracts are not yet available on Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)-regulated exchanges.
there is speculation regarding a potential inverse Solana ETF that would allow investors to profit from a decline in Solana’s price
this product is still awaiting approval from the SEC
Solana’s price remains volatile. As of press time, the price stands at $140.30
reflecting a slight 1.24% increase over the last 24 hours
the price has dipped by 19.29% over the past week
With a market cap of approximately $70 billion and a circulating supply of 500 million SOL
Solana faces a delicate balance between growth and downside risk
SOL/USD daily price chart, Source: TradingView
Key indicators suggest that selling pressure may be easing
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is hovering at 33.06
This could indicate that a price reversal or relief rally is on the horizon.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) also shows signs of slowing bearish momentum
with the histogram declining in negativity
Looking ahead, Solana’s market outlook appears cautiously optimistic. By the end of 2025, Coincodex analysts predict that Solana could trade between $214.19 and $217.69
representing a 53.74% increase from current levels.
investors might see a potential profit of up to 55% from today’s prices
these predictions are contingent on broader market conditions and regulatory clarity for Solana-related ETFs

Matt Gallagher: You joined the military in 1984
Could you say a little bit more about the circumstances under which you enlisted
and how your Navy career took off from there
I was a young kid who struggled quite a bit
I didn’t know it was because I’m gay
because I didn’t know that I was gay
I was barely graduating from high school when the Navy recruiter came and contacted a few of us who had no plans after high school
and I had no desire to go into the military
I was working at a gas station—really living the dream—and he said
“Why don’t we go down to Phoenix and talk to some people?” And where he took me was down to the MEPS station
and I didn’t really have a sense of agency
I had raised my right hand with everybody else in that facility without really understanding what I was doing
young kids would probably know that they could have gotten out of it
that’s really how I ended up in the Navy.”
because it seems to me like it could totally happen to kids today
and it’s a very different enlistment story than some others I have heard— someone thinks
or they have a parent or a family member who’s been in the military.” And they go in with a lot of decisiveness
She invites you over to her home and to meet her partner
in the company of their friends who became your friends
The presence of gay communities within the Navy
like the one you form with Tammy and her partner
that’s a big part of your book—the sort of warmth and welcome of that community
At one point you’re working in a Navy office in which half the women who have the same role as you do are gay
and so you write a lot about hiding information
I found myself also really interested in how information was shared
given the constraints that you were operating under
because you all managed to form these incredible communities around an identity that you were forbidden to talk about
Can you say a little bit about how that happened
I learned that there would be two aspects of myself
There would be the lesbian who was free with her gay underground community
Because that’s really what we were—this subculture within a larger culture that we really couldn’t exist in without getting punished or kicked out
Who we were was actually considered to be a criminal
We learned how to speak a certain language
We watched out for each other when we were at work
I learned pretty quickly how to survive within the system
It was the first time that I really felt like I was comfortable in my own skin
and I also found my family outside of the military as well
I’m just thinking about that moment of disclosure
and it’s so intensely vulnerable because you are potentially disclosing your identity
potentially someone is going to report you
which is not a TV show that’s accurate
and so one of the things that NCIS would do back in those days was—we didn’t go to gay bars
I think I’ve been to gay bars two or three times in my life—they would plant people at gay bars
Or is that person here because of NCIS?”
You really didn’t know who to trust and who not to trust
So for her to disclose her sexuality to me was a huge risk for her
She was a much bigger rebel than I was at the time
but Tammy took that to a whole other level
I could have definitely been somebody that was a plant
and she could have been gone the very next day just by telling me that
having NCIS agents planted at gay bars seems like a tremendous waste of taxpayer money
it felt like this silent enemy was always hunting us
It became kind of embedded into my nervous system
I knew that homophobic people were a threat
I knew that there were certain commanders or people in leadership that I had to be really careful of
but definitely NCIS before Don’t Ask
both because you find your service fulfilling
but also for the camaraderie you share with your friends
But she eventually becomes unbearably unhappy with her job
and she turns herself in as a way to get kicked out of the service
because contacting her afterward would be too much of a risk for you
Women in relationships also struggle to stay together on different naval assignments because they don’t get assigned to the same duty stations the way straight couples are
What other paths in your naval career over your 22 years of service were closed to you because of your orientation
About two and a half years into our relationship
she got transferred away with the promise that she would go somewhere for a year
and then we’d be reassigned together
and we were apart for three and a half years
I learned that three and a half years was challenging
Probably most of what I write about in the book encompasses that period
but neither one of us was willing to take assignments out of San Diego again
because we knew that if we got separated again
the chances of coming back together were really limited
especially when she made senior chief and I made senior chief
The billets that are available at that level are minimal
Both of us sacrificed our careers at that point
I believe that if we were a straight married couple
that both of us would have made master chief
because we could have taken challenging billets anywhere

20248 min read(Photo: Lightstock)It's the darkest time of the year in more ways than one
plunging us into darkness as early as 5 p.m
Our nation emerges from a contentious election season
All this is on top of our own personal and communal difficulties
But the Lord Jesus comes anew in our hearts
at the very darkest point of the year is by no means accidental; it is a poignant reminder of the presence of the Light of the World among us
More than a fleeting feeling of inspiration
the theological virtue of hope delves deeper
the virtue of hope comes from God and stirs a desire in our hearts for “the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal life as our happiness” (CCC 1817)
With the Holy Spirit’s inspiration and grace
we can “[place] our trust in God’s promises
[rely] not on our own strength,” and respond to the “aspiration to happiness which God has placed in the heart of every man” (CCC 1817-1818)
the Catechism of the Catholic Church continues: “It keeps man from discouragement; it sustains him during times of abandonment; it opens up his heart in expectation of eternal beatitude
he is preserved from selfishness and led to the happiness that flows from charity” (1818)
the theological virtue of hope helps us fix our eyes on the things that are above
“I think a really simple way to boil that down is that hope is the reality that Heaven is our home and God is faithful to his promises,” said Sr
a religious sister with the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity known for her speaking
her participation in the Abiding Together podcast and her work with the John Paul II Healing Center
“We are pilgrims on this journey; this earth as we now live it is not our home
The best of what we find here are just mere specks of what is awaiting us in the complete and total consummation with God forever for all eternity
we often use it as synonymous with wishful thinking,” Sr
pointing to Pope Benedict XVI’s famous line in Spe Salvi: “One who has hope lives differently; the one who hopes has been granted the gift of a new life” (2)
“What the theological virtue of hope does is it orders our hearts toward Heaven
So in moments in our lives when you and I experience uncertainty
You said that you would make all things new
But I’m going to place my hope in you.’ Because as St
'Hope does not disappoint' (Rm 5:5) because it’s based in Christ
So that truly anchors us more than just a passing feeling
Because of who Christ reveals himself to be
The Christmas story is a perfect reminder to renew our hope in Christ
the Light of the World comes anew to call our attention away from the darkness of our own “sorrowful mysteries,” those challenges
“We see in Christ not just a distant model or a distant kind of figurehead
but somebody who literally takes on our flesh and even takes on our sin and reunites us into communion with family — because the Trinity is a family
So it encapsulates everything that our hearts ache for: communion
and every single one of us has a deep ache for a love that never ends
And because you’re made in the image and likeness of God
Flowing from our dignity as beloved sons and daughters of God and from that inherent longing for the things of God
for "the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal life" (CCC 1817)
is a longing that God intends to fulfill in each of us in the Kingdom of Heaven
But it’s all too easy to lose sight of that hope-filled destiny
to veer off the “narrow road,” and to lose ourselves in our brokenness
“You and I have a lot of impediments from concupiscence
but also from our sorrowful mysteries in life,” Sr
“We have very profound beliefs that we formed out of our sorrowful mysteries that often frame our whole concept of what it means to be human
And Jesus comes with his love and his truth to heal those places
and his Truth heals the lies we believe about ourselves
And he’s bringing us into the fullness of who we truly are.”
The coming of Christ at Christmas — his taking on human flesh and entering into the human condition
with all of its messiness — should be a source of great hope for Catholic Christians striving to walk the “narrow road” to salvation
Jesus became like us in all things but sin and taught us to be truly human
His Incarnation made God accessible to his people in a new
we can come to the Father; by coming to the Father
“When we speak about healing at the John Paul II Healing Center
we talk about a beautiful definition that Dr
Bob Schuchts will always give: ‘Healing is an ongoing encounter with God’s love and truth that brings us into wholeness and communion,’” Sr
highlighting God’s desire to bring his love and truth to those places of rejection
“When we allow those places to be uncovered over time and in all the ways that Jesus does
We may have been physically alone in different ways
but we’ve never been spiritually alone from the very first moment we were created in our mothers’ wombs.”
That intimacy with the Lord is a source of great hope
because it shows us that everything doesn’t fall on us; God is Emmanuel
“I’m not left to figure this out by myself
It’s actually opening my heart to Christ and allowing him to reveal who I truly am and allowing him to bring me more deeply into that wholeness and communion so that I begin to live out my deepest destiny that God has for me
which is eternal communion with him forever with all the saints for all eternity,” she said
healing and fulfillment might await us in Heaven
we are not excused from action today and at every moment
Because Jesus became man and united himself to us so powerfully
and the fullness of it takes place in Heaven
You and I don’t have to spend the rest of our lives — no matter where we are right now — in our coping mechanisms or our most difficult parts
That restoration of love and truth begins right now
“I think we can have a faulty understanding of that
I just don't see Jesus living like that
You see him in distress; you see him weeping
their hardness of heart or cleansing the temple
he’s always experiencing relationship with the Father
“We have to be very honest that this is not some sort of Pollyanna kind of worldview or a diminishment of suffering or our sorrowful mysteries,” Sr
“It’s actually very honestly encountering these places and
encountering Christ and many times choosing to believe what God tells us about himself
even though we don’t experience it ourselves
choosing to believe that Heaven is our home and that God is faithful to his promises.”
As the Church celebrates the coming of Christ as a child and as she kicks off the Jubilee Year of Hope
there is no better time to develop the muscle of hope in each of our lives by working to choose it
even when circumstances make that choice difficult
Who would want to be so closely united to us as Christ
We don’t have to conjure up anything; I don’t have to conjure up hope or virtue
‘Open my heart and help me to respond to your divine love
Help me to respond to what you’re already doing in my life,” Sr
Jesus’ becoming man brings great hope and joy
to save you and to bring you into relationship with him — now and for eternity
hope-filled Christmas message is that you matter to God
"We are so deeply loved — it just makes me cry — we are so deeply loved and so precious to him," Sr
and he's not waiting for us to get ourselves together so he can help us
That's what happens in Advent: the revelation of the love of a family
the love of our little places that he is not afraid of

That is the intent – to relax and calm
may be just the spa to melt away the stresses of the day
A grand opening is set for June 12 at 4 p.m
Owner Kristie Schwab said when she was researching ideas
she wanted to offer services that were not readily available in the Jamestown area
She said that for some of the services that Solt provides
she would have to travel to receive those services
And the services were not under one roof or in the same building
“(For) some of these services I would travel to
I’d go to a business that just had one
I’d have to get in my car and go to another one,” Schwab said
So Schwab decided to expand Panache Salon and Day Spa
And I thought it would pair well with the things we have next door so that we could expand on the experience that we’ve already built
and we have more selection,” She added
Schwab said the new services include float therapy
Float Therapy – Embark on a sensory journey as you float effortlessly in our state-of-the-art floatation rooms
and achieve deep mental clarity in this serene aquatic environment – soltcafespa.com
“It takes all the pressure off your joints
It calms your central nervous system,” Schwab said of the float therapy
Halotherapy – Step into a salt cave and breathe in the healing powers of pure Himalayan salt
and promotes skin health – soltcafespa.com
and it’s going to clear your airways,” Schwab said
Contrast Therapy – Indulge in the therapeutic contrast of heat and cold in a sauna and cold plunge facilities
Alternate between the warmth of the sauna and the brisk revitalization of the cold plunge – soltcafespa.com
“So there are two cold plunges and an infrared sauna
so that you can alternate between infrared heat and the cold temperature
Alternating the therapies is really wonderful for inflammation,” Schwab said
Vichy Shower – Experience ultimate relaxation in the Vichy shower room
where cascading water massages away tension
The Vichy shower combines the benefits of hydrotherapy with the luxury of a soothing
rainfall-like shower – soltcafespa.com
so patrons can enjoy a drink or meal without having to use the spa
Cafe hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m to 8 p.m

Two exchange-traded funds tracking futures in Solana is coming on the market on Thursday
(Getty Images) What to know: Volatility Shares LLC is launching two exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking Solana futures
with SOLZ offering standard exposure and SOLT providing leveraged exposure. The ETFs
come as issuers await SEC decisions on spot Solana ETFs
which analysts see as having a 75% chance of approval by year-end.A spot Solana ETF approval may hinge on an established futures market
aligning with the SEC’s criteria for spot crypto ETFs.Two exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking futures in Solana (SOL) are coming on the market on Thursday
SOLZ will have a management fee of 0.95% while traders will be charged 1.85% for SOLT, according to the filing.
The products will be the first-ever funds tracking futures in Solana, which at a market cap of $66.5 billion is the sixth largest cryptocurrency on the market. The token is up 6% over the past 24 hours, in line with the broader crypto market.
The launch of these funds could be significant in the approval of a spot Solana ETF, which would hold the token directly. The SEC has stated in the past that in order to approve a spot product, they would like to see an established futures market for the asset.
After the launch of the spot Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) ETFs last year, issuers have been looking to bring further crypto-related products to the market.
Several issuers, including Grayscale, Franklin Templeton and VanEck, have filed paperwork to launch a spot Solana ETF, which have yet to be reviewed by the SEC. Bloomberg Intelligence ETF analysts believe there to be a 75% chance for those funds to be approved by the end of this year.
However, a decision likely won’t be made before Paul Atkins, who has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as chair of the SEC, is confirmed by the Senate. There is currently no hearing scheduled for Atkins.

AAA and other STOs allow private businesses and individuals to donate part of their taxable income to help educate youngsters in poor or underserved areas
Most Holy Trinity made a difference in Hernandez’s children’s lives

“We don’t have an indoor gym or some of those things
We want to teach all the right stuff they need to know,” she said
“You need to have the love and faith and guidance for our children to let them know they are valued
They don’t even get it at home — sometimes with all the hustle and bustle today and tech items
helping them make the correct decisions in life (that’s what we try to do),” she explained
Hernandez’ three graduates include one in high school at St
another studying for priesthood at the Diocese’s college-level seminary
“If they didn’t have an opportunity to come to this school

It is important because that’s how we know God is with us and He guides us in this world.”

Bishop Dolan encouraged worshippers to work alongside their priests and sisters to share and grow God’s Kingdom
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity is a time not just to celebrate God in three persons – Father
Son and Holy Spirit – but the “dynamic exchange” that takes place between God and man when He came to Earth in human form through His Son
conceived through the Holy Spirit in the Virgin Mary
“In this beautiful exchange between God and humanity
that we get to be caught up in…Mary was able to be woven in because she gave to us the Word of God.”
Catholics participate in “that most perfect Communion” through the Eucharist
but they are also invited to “share” the Trinity with others

For years dinner guests at Holly Hill Inn would gesture toward the solo diner seated at his usual two-top
and ask sotto voce “Who is that? Does he come here often?” To which we always answered: yes
As Holly Hill Inn celebrates its 22nd birthday
we think it’s time to introduce Roger Solt
Chris and Ouita Michel’s business partner from the start. He’s our very own hidden figure and his longtime friendship with Ouita helped spark her career as a chef and restaurateur. But first
she was a student debater and he was her coach
Ohio and earned degrees from Wake Forest University and Bowling Green University
“that I was far more interested in coaching debate than I was in Speech Communication as an academic discipline”
Roger moved to Lexington in 1980 to coach debate at the University of Kentucky .
1982 in room 145 of the Patterson Office Tower
It was the opening session of UK’s pre-school debate workshop and I had heard that Ouita was one of our top prospects.”
1982 was Ouita’s 18th birthday and Roger’s third year of coaching; the team was rebuilding
having lost several students to graduation and transfers
They had just come off two strong seasons though
and reached the semi-finals of the National Debate Tournament in both
“Ouita had been a very good debater by local Kentucky standards but she had not had very much national experience. Her freshman year
she started out debating with a somewhat more experienced freshman from the Bronx High School of Science. He
and Ouita rapidly emerged as the best debater on the team.”
students and coaches bonded on the road to and from tournaments. Although as Roger admitted
“we were on a very limited budget so fine dining was not really a part of debate travel. Burgers and pizza were the staples
with Mexican and Italian the more ‘upscale’ alternatives. (Legendary UK Professor) J.W
so when he was traveling with the team that was a frequent stopping place.”
those debate dinners made a lasting impression on Ouita
traveling to tournaments kindled a deep interest in me for restaurants
We loved going to Chicago so we could indulge in the famous stuffed pizza from Carmen’s or Edwardo’s
especially the flaming cheese and chicken with artichokes
and our good friend Ross Smith from Wake Forest
feasted on Banchan in a fantastic Korean restaurant for the first time.
Roger reflected on her rapid progress.
“Though she started significantly behind many of her contemporaries
Ouita improved a great deal over the course of her freshman year and by her sophomore year
she and her partner ranked as one of the top sixteen teams in the country. By her junior year they ranked second
winning both the Harvard and the Dartmouth tournaments. And her senior year they won the National Debate Tournament.”
Ouita still remembers the night they won the National Debate Tournament at Dartmouth
and how they celebrated afterward with a Twin Lobster Dinner at Legal Seafood
“They stayed open just for our team that night: all six or seven of us
with the trophy in its own chair in an empty dining room
Their generosity has stayed with me ever since
We still host the UK debate team for dinner each year
as a salute to the many great meals I’ve had with Roger and all of our debate friends over the years.”
It was Roger who introduced Ouita to Steve Mancuso
who had won outstanding individual debater at the NDT his own senior year.
Ouita described “Wine of the Day” get-togethers
hosted by their friend Ross during summers in Ann Arbor
teaching at debate camp. “We tasted a new wine each afternoon – examining its color
Never was wine tasting so fun or educational
I think these simple afternoon affairs gave rise to our Wine Guild today
since Steve Mancuso often joined us for those tastings.”
we often stocked our beer cooler based on Roger’s preferences. Today Roger’s a regular at Wine Guild tasting sessions where
he has been “instrumental every step of the way in building its success.”
wine. A mentorship that turned into a lifelong friendship and partnership. Roger never stopped following Ouita’s culinary career and when she and Chris had the chance to buy the Holly Hill Inn
he eagerly signed on as an investor. The day they closed the deal
went out for a “mammoth lunch” at Arirang Garden In Lexington and it’s still one of their favorite places.
Twenty-plus years and eight more restaurants later
Roger says his taste buds have definitely developed. “Sometimes I think I must be the best-fed person in Kentucky
Most of what I know about fine food I owe to Ouita. And most of what I know about wine comes from Steve and the Wine Guild. I hope I was able to teach Ouita and Steve as much about debate as they’ve taught me about food and wine.”
Ouita confided that Roger is a legend in the debate world – honored as National Coach of the Year and Best College Debate Judge
among many other recognitions. We happen to think he’s a legend in the restaurant world as well. He’s definitely our champion

last updated 1mo agoVolatility Shares is launching two Solana futures ETFs
the Volatility Shares Solana ETF (SOLZ) and the Volatility Shares 2X Solana ETF (SOLT)
Industry experts see the launch of Solana futures ETFs as a major milestone
with the potential to improve liquidity and demand for SOL
believes that the ETFs could increase Solana’s market position and potentially close the gap with Ethereum's market cap
He also highlighted that offering a regulated investment vehicle could attract institutional investors
like Bloomberg’s senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas
pointing out that the spot Ether ETF has not brought in large inflows
and the same could happen with Solana futures ETFs
the approval of a Solana spot ETF is viewed as a likely next step
sees the increased awareness generated by the futures ETFs as paving the way for a future spot Solana ETF
A report from JPMorgan suggests that a spot Solana ETF could bring in between $3 billion to $6 billion in net assets in the first six months
possibly outpacing the adoption of Ether ETFs
is seen by some analysts as the true indicator of Solana’s growing influence in the crypto space
A Solana spot ETF could offer investors direct exposure to SOL without the complexities of futures markets
making it an attractive option once it’s available
The market could see moderate inflows into the futures ETFs
but the real milestone will be the launch of the spot product
Solana’s growing status is also bolstered by its inclusion in the U.S
This includes Solana alongside other tokens like Cardano and XRP
The launch of the futures ETFs marks an important step in the adoption of Solana
but the path to a spot ETF could take years
as the SEC’s review process for new products typically extends to 2026
while the initial inflows from the futures ETFs may be limited
their launch is seen as an important step toward the broader acceptance of Solana in the institutional investment world

The request now sits with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which must approve the filing before trading of the Fidelity Solana Fund can commence on the exchange.
This is the latest in a spate of filings with the federal agency by exchanges and fund sponsors seeking to launch ETFs holding SOL and other cryptocurrencies.
On March 12, Cboe filed to list another spot SOL ETF sponsored by asset manager Franklin Templeton.
Cboe’s filing comes after asset manager Volatility Shares launched an ETF using financial derivatives known as futures to track the performance of spot SOL.
Launched in March, Volatility Shares Solana ETF (SOLZ) and the Volatility Shares 2X Solana ETF (SOLT) are the first ETFs providing US investors with exposure to Solana's native token. The SOLT ETF tracks SOL’s performance with 2x leverage.
Analysts at Bloomberg Intelligence peg the odds at 70% that US regulators will approve a spot SOL ETF this year, according to a February post on X.
Other asset managers seeking to list spot SOL ETFs include Grayscale, VanEck, 21Shares, Canary and Bitwise, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.
On March 17, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the US’s largest derivatives exchange, launched SOL futures contracts. Experts say this is further indication that spot SOL ETFs will soon be approved in the US.
Roughly a dozen asset managers are seeking the SEC’s approval to launch altcoin ETFs in the US. The proposed ETFs for altcoins range from Litecoin (LTC) and XRP (XRP) to Dogecoin (DOGE) and Official Trump (TRUMP).
Issuers are also asking the SEC to approve changes to existing ETFs, including allowances for staking, options and in-kind redemptions.
The SEC eased its stance on cryptocurrency after US President Donald Trump began his second term in January.
Under former President Joe Biden, the SEC brought upward of 100 lawsuits against crypto firms, alleging various securities law violations. In 2024, the regulator greenlighted spot Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) ETFs but stymied proposed ETFs tied to other cryptocurrencies.

Junior year is important for multiple reasons. For some, it'll be their first chance to be an impact player on varsity after paying their dues as a rotation player or on junior varsity. For others, it'll be a continuation of a promising sophomore season where many wonder if it was flash or fire
the class of 2026 wants to make a great impression to college coaches as the recruiting clock officially starts
What these players do this season will set the stage for their senior years
Behr was an All-Conference performer as a receiver and safety as a sophomore
so it only makes sense that this list starts with the only member of the 2026 recruiting class with that distinction
He'll be asked to perform as a player and a leader for a young and inexperienced Panther roster
but don't be surprised if Behr is the newest member of the 1,000-yard receiver club
Pocono Mountain WestThe heir apparent to 2023 starter Ryder Bray
Sims is viewed as more of a dual-threat quarterback that excels in the read option
But the first-year varsity starter is a reliable thrower
and he'll need to be to maximize the Pocono Mountain West offense
Dienhoue could be the wild card that head coach Jim McCarroll mentioned his team will need to succeed
He's a player that's shown a lot of promise and upside
Dienhoue's health couldn't come at a better time as the Panthers need reliable weapons to take the pressure off of Behr
Brown is another player that didn't see much action last year
he has the measurables to be an All-Conference lineman
He'll also have plenty of tape to show for it under Blaec Saeger's triple option offense
but also on defense as a potentially elite run stopper and pass rusher
Pleasant ValleyAiden Lollis is the likely starting fullback for the Bears' triple option offense
but Saeger mentioned that Westerman is the other player who could see time in that position
And considering the youth movement on defense
Westerman could be in position to see a lot of action at the linebacker position
Pleasant ValleyIt's a number of players vying for the three offensive positions
meaning Solt might be the odd man out for now
But similar to how Westerman could see a lot of snaps at linebacker
Solt could see a lot of action at defensive back
The mountain is looking to air it out more
More: Here are 10 sophomores to watch this season in Pocono football
Laubach is the only solidified returning starter on the mountain
and it was evident when the Cavaliers opted for a wildcat offense the latter part of the season
after an offseason of improving his pocket presence and arm strength
he's earned the confidence of his teammates and coaches ahead of the 2024 season
There were two players who received All-Conference honors as sophomores
the other is the Cavalier junior who led his team with 4.5 sacks in 2023
Adjin-Tettey will be an impact player who'll help lead the South defense
King enters the season as arguably the best quarterback on the mountain
He's entering his third year as the starter and the second year under Dave Laughlin
He displayed some arm strength as a sophomore
and he said he's worked on his accuracy leading into the season
King is also the player most college coaches are looking at as the class of 2026 becomes more of the focus in recruiting
East Stroudsburg NorthKing needs weapons to throw to
and Sympson is one of the guys Laughlin expects to be a significant contributor in the passing game
he's also one of the EPC leaders in interceptions
which means North has a proven defensive back to anchor the secondary
Laughlin was adamant about improving the strength and conditioning of his team
and Tuzzio will be a great example of a full offseason's worth of work
It might be too soon to say Tuzzio will be All-Conference
but when the season concludes he'll be in conversations among mountain schools
Essington is the only returning starter for Stroudsburg's offensive line
so it's up to him to get the other four up to speed to compete in the EPC
He's also half of a strong defensive line tandem for the Mountaineers as the junior competes with a relentless motor
Triano is another three-year starter on the mountain whose coaches are high on him
He'll help lead the Cardinal secondary under first-year head coach Dustin Thomas and four-year defensive head coach Bobby Fox
