The Belgian-Hungarian-owned Weerts Logistics Park (WLP) has opened a sustainable, 40,000 square metre production facility in Vecsés
one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers
the total investment reached over 57 million euros
with Magna further contributing to the manufacturing equipment
leasing it to Magna under a long-term agreement
Key sustainable features of the facility include a rainwater recycling system and advanced energy-efficient technology
Waste heat generated by machinery is integrated into the building’s heating system
while solar panels are being installed across the roof to support the entire facility with green energy
WLP noted its commitment to rigorous environmental monitoring to ensure that operations have no adverse environmental impact
WLP has also prioritized community relations and the needs of local residents
an earth embankment planted with trees and shrubs has been built around the facility

MOL has discovered a new oil field near Somogysámson in Western Hungary
During the exploration drilling carried out in December 2024
the well has potential to produce 1,200 bpd
we have again discovered a new oil field – this time in the Transdanubian region
where we last discovered oil more than a decade ago,” said Zsombor Marton
Executive Vice President of MOL Group Exploration and Production
“The fact that we achieved this success in the concession belonging to Bázakerettye
which has an almost 100-year oil industry tradition
is clear evidence that there is still potential in hydrocarbon exploration in Hungary
We are discovering previously unknown hydrocarbon deposits one after the other and further strengthening the country's security of supply: with the oil deposits in Vecsés and Tura and the natural gas fields in Eastern Hungary
we have reached a five-year peak in domestic production.”
our oil supply is largely via pipelines and intermediaries,” added Dr
“It is clear that we need to reduce Hungary's import dependence by all means available
We will continue our investments and will do our utmost to maintain and
The drilling of the new well in the Somogysámson oilfield
Based on the well tests carried out prior to March 2025
the well is currently proven to be capable of producing 1,200 bpd
which is transported by truck to the Danube Refinery in Százhalombatta
This new discovery will also help meet the country's energy needs
MOL has ambitious E&P investment plans
the company plans to invest approximately HUF 150 billion in oil and natural gas production in Hungary
MOL is the largest hydrocarbon producer in Hungary
producing at almost 1,300 oil and natural gas wells
MOL provided 47% of crude oil (almost 600,000 tonnes) and nearly 90% of natural gas (nearly 1.5 billion m3) of domestic production
Hungary is the most significant in the MOL Group's oil and gas production portfolio
currently accounting for approximately 39% of total production
The oil production of the Som-8 well is around 1200 bpd
accounting for about 1% of MOL Group's total hydrocarbon production
As part of MOL Group's international portfolio
the company has oil and gas exploration and production assets in nine countries
it produced an average of 93.8 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed)
To maintain the updated SHAPE TOMORROW strategy target of at least 90,000 bpd production level over the next five years
the company aims to further strengthen its international portfolio and seeks additional strategic partnerships
it has recently signed cooperation agreements with the national oil company of Kazakhstan (KazMunayGas)
the national oil company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR)
and the national oil company of Türkiye (Turkish Petroleum)
The Budapest Times
Test production of the Vecses-1 well started with a production rate of 1,300 barrels per day
equivalent to around 1.5pc of group-level hydrocarbon production
MOL said it expected production at Vecses-1 to increase in the near future

Image: Activists attend the launch of a new Hungarian extreme right group
Hungary (Reuters) – Hundreds of Hungarian right-wing militants gathered in a Budapest suburb on Saturday to launch a new political movement they hope will run in next year’s parliamentary elections on a ticket that includes open racism
has been moving away from its far-right roots and is staking out a more centrist position
This has created space for new hard-right initiatives
Three groups held a rally in the suburb of Vecses labelled “unfurling the flag of the far right”
Although attendance was limited its leaders have reached a national audience in the media and plan to take part in the 2018 elections
looks to be more radical than any political organisation targeting a serious political role since the fall of Communism
and uses openly racist language to oppose liberalism and immigration
told the crowd of mostly black-clad muscular
tattooed men that Europe showed an ill-conceived tolerance in the face of peril from its existing minorities and the influx of millions more people
“Tens of millions are added to the ranks of the Arabs
Africans and Gypsies who will show no tolerance once they realise the power that their demographic significance lends them,” he said
“Our ethnic community must come first… there is no equality.”
to paint a stark picture of Europe’s present
“World history is made and lost on population
the fight for living space and the fight to hold on to living space,” he said
“Anyone who says different is either delusional or lying
I am proud to be a white European… And I reserve the right to defend that.”
Echoing Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s frequently touted ideal of an illiberal state
They are our main enemy and we will do everything to destroy their ideals in our public… These people lose their nationality
their race awareness and soon their sexual identity
Such people must be forced out of our living space.”
