“About 49 percent of vehicles are heading east
with 60 percent of them passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate,” Lisye said on Thursday

Overall traffic volume has increased by 13 percent compared to normal conditions
vehicle flow has exceeded 70 percent of the usual volume
indicating a significant rise in holiday travel
“The peak of the homecoming exodus is expected on Friday (March 28)
with high volumes continuing through Saturday (March 29),” Lisye added

In almost all rest areas of toll roads such as Jakarta-Cikampek
the available parking area is also adequate
with an average occupancy of 30-60 percent

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police will implement several traffic engineering strategies, including contraflow as well as local and national one-way systems
to manage the anticipated peak of the 2025 Eid al-Fitr return traffic
The plan was finalized following a coordination meeting with Jasa Marga
“The return flow is expected to peak on the 5th or 6th
so we must take strategic measures alongside all stakeholders to manage traffic effectively,” said Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho
The contraflow will start from KM 70 to KM 47 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road
"The contraflow from km 70 to km 47 until we extend it at km 36
we will see traffic counting parameters including the vision ratio that we directly observe in the field," said Agus
Korlantas will also implement the first phase of local one way from KM 188 Palimanan to KM 70 Cikatama
the second phase of contraflow scheme will also be applied from KM 246 to KM 188
the first phase of local one way we implement from KM 188 Palimanan to KM 70 Cikatama
If on the 4th there is still a significant surge from the east towards Jakarta
we will carry out the second phase of contraflow from KM 246-KM 188," he said
the national one way will be implemented on April 6
on the 5th we will extend the one way again
the flag out of the national one way will be released by the Chief of Police and the Minister of Transportation
planned for the morning of the 6th," said Agus
To anticipate the density of the return flow
Jasa Marga will also implement the opening of functional tolls on Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South
"That will also be parameters for us to carry out contraflow from KM 70 to KM 36 and so on
the Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept
said that the toll tariff discount is part of an effort to anticipate the density of the vehicle volume
He explained that the implementation of one-way traffic and the toll discount on the Cipali Toll Road are measures to ease congestion caused by high traffic volumes
Astra Tol Cipali is offering a 20 percent toll discount to encourage travelers to return earlier and reduce vehicle buildup
The offer applies only to vehicles traveling continuously from Semarang (via the Kalikangkung Toll Gate) to the Main Cikampek Toll Gate
Ardam reported that between midnight and 9:00 AM, approximately 26,500 vehicles traveled through the Cipali Toll Road from Cirebon to Jakarta as part of the Eid al-Fitr return flow
This marked an 87 percent increase compared to the traffic volume during the same hours the previous day

Traffic at Km 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road barely moved
The toll road section that implements contraflow traffic engineering is unable to reduce traffic congestion towards Jakarta
The story of being stuck in a traffic jam for up to a dozen hours during peak backflow occurred from Sunday (14/4) to Monday (15/4)
was stuck in traffic jam for 17 hours when returning from his village in Solo

Congestion was experienced before entering the one-way route on Sunday at 13.22
The traffic flow on the return lane of vehicles is congested on Cikampek Toll Road at Km 59
The traffic jam experienced by Wienda is said to be due to the impact of one way
there will be a meeting of vehicles from the direction of Demak and Solo," he said

Wienda's traffic congestion was slightly relieved and she was able to continue driving at a speed of up to 100 km per hour after passing the Kalikangkung toll gate until Km 100 of the Trans-Java Toll Road in Subang
The traffic speed that reached 100 km per hour drastically changed when they arrived at Km98
We were stuck in a jam until kilometer 41 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road
The congestion started at 11 pm and we only arrived home at 5 am," he said
Wienda already knew that her travel schedule on Sunday afternoon was during the peak of the return flow
she did not predict that it would cause such severe congestion
"We had actually anticipated it by leaving earlier in the day
which we didn't predict would be trapped like that," he said
Regarding the traffic density on Sunday night
said that the traffic density on Sunday night also felt terrible
This is because the degree of traffic saturation (V/C ratio) on toll roads is more than standard
we are informing and giving an alarm to people who are going home today
the volume of vehicles entering Jabodetabek will be higher than on Sunday (14/4) night
"What was announced yesterday by the government, the President's decision to tolerate work form home (WFH) for state civil servants (ASN), please take advantage of it. The hope is that if this is utilized, tonight the density will not be maximum," said Budi, after Coordinating the Evaluation of Homecoming and Return Flow Handling Lebaran 2024

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga applied the contraflow system from KM 70 to KM 47 of the Jakarta - Cikampek toll road starting 14:20 local time as per the National Police’s discretion
“Contraflow system is applied in order to reduce traffic congestion on the toll road section due to high traffic of vehicles heading to Jakarta,” said Jasa Marga spokesman Tody Satria in a written statement
Traffic congestion occurred at KM 54 until KM 68 of the toll road due to the meeting of vehicles in toll road sections including from Bandung towards Jakarta and vehicle queues at rest areas
Jasa Marga thus encouraged road users to stay vigilant while driving
and follow the directions of officers in the field
The public could also monitor the traffic on toll roads through real-time CCTV via Travoy mobile application

The construction of an elevated toll road connecting Jakarta and Cikampek in Karawang
has been temporarily halted by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing
after recent accidents at the sites of similar projects
State-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga, whose subsidiary Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) oversees the project, said the 38-kilometer road will be ready in 2019, and will ease traffic congestion in the region
which motorists have to pass on the way to Bandung
"Before the government suspended all elevated projects
the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road was 24.48 complete," JJC chief executive Djoko Dwijono said at the construction site on Sunday (25/02)
Public Works Minister Basuki Hadimuljono announced last week that all elevated and heavy construction projects have been suspended for safety assessment
The company is also set to strengthen its safety procedures by implementing a "zero-accident" policy
"We fully support the government's decision to halt some of the elevated construction projects
especially with regard to occupational health and safety," Jasa Marga chief executive Desi Arryani said

Lintas Marga Sedaya vice president director Hudaya Arryanto said 25 kilometers of the toll road is still under construction
about 9 out of 99 toll road bridges are yet completed
Hudaya has set a target that all of the toll road sections will be operational by the end of May
Basuki said the toll road is expected to reduce the traffic congestion by 50 percent at Java north coast highway (Pantura) during the homecoming season
Basuki added that the toll road was designed to facilitate 25,000 vehicles per day
Authorities have implemented "contraflow" traffic detours on various stretches of the Cikampek-Palimanan toll road and Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to ease traffic jams caused by a surge of cars returning to the capital city after the Idul Fitri holiday
On advice from state toll road operator Jasa Marga
the police started implementing the contraflow detour — which allows cars heading to Jakarta to occupy lanes in the opposite direction — since 03.50 p.m
Jasa Marga spokesman Dwimawan Heru Santoso said in a statement on Saturday (01/07)
The detour meant vehicles heading to Palimanan near Cirebon
a city in West Java that is the gateway to Central Java for travelers taking the North Coast (Pantura) route
from the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road must get out of the toll road from the Cikopo toll gate near Purwakarta
which operates the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road that connects Cipali toll road with the capital city
also implemented contraflow since Sunday morning
as traffic jams started to appear around rest areas
Km 52 and Km 42 rest areas was causing long queues on the toll road," Jasa Marga spokesman Handoyo said as quoted by Antara news agency on Sunday
Contraflow on the Cikampek toll road — which on normal days is already the busiest toll road in the country — is implemented from Km 62 to Km 35
"The contraflow detour has been on over a 27-kilometer of the toll road since 10.40 a.m

Construction of the new elevated toll road connecting Jakarta and Cikampek
an official at state-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga said
The 38-kilometer Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road
which will pass over some sections of the existing toll road
is part of a government masterplan to ease traffic congestion in and around the capital
while also improving the country's infrastructure to boost economic growth
"We confirm that the project must be completed in March 2019
in accordance with the target we've set," Jasa Marga president director Desi Arryani said on Wednesday (08/11)
The project is currently 14.48 percent completed
ahead of the initial projection of 13.13 percent completion by the first week of November this year
Jasa Marga subsidiary Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek is overseeing the project
"Now the project has entered its most important phase; that is the installation of the [2,500] steel box girders," Desi said
State-controlled steelmaker Krakatau Steel is responsible for supplying up to 205,000 metric tons of steel plate for the project by November next year
The company has supplied 28,000 tons so far
The Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road is deemed a solution to alleviate congestion on the busy road
where delivery trucks traveling to or from manufacturing plants in Cikampek often get stuck in traffic for hours on the existing 73-kilometer toll road
"The Jakarta-Cikampek elevated toll road is a solution to the frequent high traffic volumes on the existing road
especially the busiest section between Cikunir and West Karawang," he added
The congestion became more severe in recent months with the simultaneous construction of other major projects along the road
including the light rail transit system and the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway
"The main challenge of this toll road project is the high volume of vehicles passing on a daily basis
And here we also have another four transportation projects
that's why we need to coordinate with each other
especially in managing schedules to move the heavy steel box girders," said Jasa Marga general manager R
who is assigned to oversee the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road
Jakarta - Head of Toll Road Management Agency (BPJT) Herry TZ said that the auction of the Jakarta-Cikampek II elevated toll road project has been won by a consortium led by state-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga
the consortium would only have to sign a contract to resume the project
Herry also hopes that the construction of the elevated toll road will begin in early 2017
Early next year if possible,” Erry said in Jakarta on Friday
The project was proposed by Jasa Marga to the government in order to increase the capacity of the Jakarta – Cikampek toll road
It is planned that the toll road will be built over the existing Jakarta – Cikampel toll road
which stretches from Cikunir to Karawang Barat is expected to be in operation in 2019
while the concession period of the toll road is for 40 years
Jakarta - Tempo launched today a documentary film entitled Kilometer 50 on its Youtube channel Tempodotco
The 51-minute video tells the story of the fatal shooting of six Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) members by the police at the KM 50 of Jakarta-CIkampek toll road
The case has recently drawn the public spotlight again after the alleged premeditated murder case of Brigadier J was revealed
Ferdy Sambo as the former head of the professional and security division of the National Police was named a suspect
Sambo previously served as the director of general crimes of the National Police and also handled the KM 50 case
Here are three facts about the KM 50 incident:
Six members of the now-defunct organization were shot dead by the police
There was allegedly a shootout between the FPI members and the police which was evident from the finding of several bullet casings about three kilometers from the crime scene
A witness swore that he saw the victims alive
An eyewitness around the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road at kilometer 50 claimed to have seen the six members alive
One of the witnesses questioned by Koran Tempo said he tried to approach a Chevrolet car driven by the FPI members but was stopped by the police who said they were dealing with terrorists
“I swear that they were still alive at that time,” said the witness who also saw the police take out their weapons
First Brigadier (Briptu) Fikri Ramadhan and Second Police Inspector (Ipda) Mohammad Yusmin Ohorella
acquitted them from charges as they were considered to have exercised self-defense
Public prosecutor Zet Tadung Allo said he respected the acquittal as the final settlement of the Kilometer 50 case
which could be classified as extra-judicial killing
has the potential to be reopened if new evidence is found

State-controlled toll operator Jasa Marga has implemented a temporary contraflow system on part of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to reduce traffic congestion at the start of the long weekend
a company spokesman said on Friday afternoon (09/12)
assistant vice president for corporate communication at Jasa Marga
was quoted by Antara news agency as saying that the contraflow system will allow motorists heading east towards Cikampek to use some lanes over a 7-kilometer stretch of the westbound carriageway of Indonesia's busiest toll road
The three-day weekend is the result of Monday's national holiday
as Indonesia commemorates the birthday of the Prophet Muhammed
Jakartans typically travel out of town to nearby cities over long weekends
usually resulting in heavy traffic congestion on outbound roads
Dwimawan said the contraflow system has been in place since around 1.00 p.m
on Friday from the 14-kilometer mark to the 21-kilometer mark on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road
Dwimawan said the Cawang-East Bekasi section has seen a 29 percent increase in traffic volumes
but that the situation at the Cikarang main toll gate was still normal by Friday afternoon
He did not say for how long the contraflow system would be in place
Jakarta - Jasa Marga Operational Director Hasanudin said the traffic volume at Jakarta-Cikampek toll road has overloaded
He said that Jasa Marga had installed a weighbridge for vehicles entering the 83-kilometer toll road
“The weighbridge didn’t last for two weeks,” Hasanuddin said during the opening of Jakarta Outer Ring Road W2 on Monday
The road damage was because too many large vehicles
He said the traffic overload occurred at toll roads connecting Jakarta
Bekasi and other cities in North Java Coastal (Pantura) region
Hasanuddin said the maximum weight that can be taken by the weighbridge was 20 tons
while the many passing vehicles weighed 40 tons
traffic overload pose a threat for toll road users
particularly when the heavy-weight vehicles run faster than other smaller vehicles
Life is about to get a lot more complicated for anyone driving a private car in the capital and surrounding areas
as the city's odd-even traffic rationing policy is set to be expanded to the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road soon
motorists traveling between Jakarta and Bekasi
whose car registration numbers do not match the date
will be prevented from accessing the toll road
The traffic police will start fining violators from Dec
prosecuting drivers of vehicles that do not have the correct registration numbers
we are still creating awareness and asking drivers to turn around if their number plates do not match the dates," Adjutant Comr
head of the Jakarta-Cikampek Highway Patrol said
The Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ) decided to expand the policy to this busy toll road to reduce traffic volumes
The start of the policy's implementation on Monday follows a two-week awareness campaign on social media and the posting of banners at several points
Both efforts have previously been used with success to inform the public
Former Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama introduced the traffic rationing policy on major thoroughfares in the capital in August 2016 to replace the controversial three-in-one carpooling system
Despite initial criticism of the odd-even traffic rationing policy
Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi even urged the authorities in Makassar on Friday to consider implementing a similar policy in the South Sulawesi capital to reduce traffic congestion
The authorities meanwhile hope implementation of the traffic rationing policy on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road would be as effective
"We hope this policy can effectively improve the traffic flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road
especially on the Jakarta-bound carriageway during the morning rush hour," said Randy R
general manager of the Jakarta-Cikampek section at state-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga
The BPTJ has meanwhile arranged several modes of public transportation
The buses are scheduled to depart from the Grand Wisata complex in Bekasi between 5.20 a.m
daily to several destinations in the greater Jakarta area

especially those affected by the traffic rationing policy
