TEMPO.CO, Palembang - Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport or SMB II in Palembang, South Sumatra
The airport status was downgraded from international to domestic on April 2
conveyed the news during a working visit to Palembang to attend an evaluation meeting for the Christmas and New Year 2024/2025 traffic
as well as to coordinate and anticipate strategic transportation issues in South Sumatra Province
"God willing, these (international) flights will resume after the Christmas and New Year period. All that remains is to wait for changes in regulations," Suntana said at the command center room of the Alang-alang Lebar Type A Terminal in Palembang City on Thursday
Suntana said the infrastructure of SMB II Airport was also ready to be upgraded to an international airport
SMB II Airport was an international airport before its status was downgraded along with 16 other airports in Indonesia
we will adjust the regulations so that these international flights can be realized," he said
He considered that international flights at the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang were critical and should be revived immediately to meet people's needs and increase economic growth in the tourism sector
This was also previously suggested by the acting governor of South Sumatra
the routes that were active before the COVID-19 pandemic
are in great demand by the people of South Sumatra
especially for purposes such as medical treatment
He also viewed the return of the international airport status as in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to activate and restore the status of airports that previously served international flights
also expressed its support for the steps taken by the South Sumatra provincial government and the Palembang city government to reactivate the international route
the government will support all necessary efforts to improve the investment climate and economic growth
especially in South Sumatra," Suntana remarked

the capital city of South Sumatra Province
needs to transform into a green city to anticipate the impact of the ongoing climate crisis
With a growing population and rapid urbanization
the environmental challenges in Palembang are increasingly complex
One step in encouraging green cities in Indonesia is utilizing renewable energy
based on data from the Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Office of the South Sumatra Provincial Government
fossil energy still dominated the regional energy mix
renewable energy reached 23.85 per cent of the total energy mix
Chairman of Commission IV of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD)
explained that South Sumatra has promising renewable energy potential
especially biomass energy because most of its territory is plantation
South Sumatra also has geothermal hotspots that can be utilized as a source of electrical energy
The Program Manager of Sustainable Energy Access at the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR)
explained that the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing
in collaboration with district/city governments
is currently developing a green city development program (P2KH)
The program states that the concept of a green city is not just about the amount of green open space
But also the massive availability of public transportation
“City design is not just about buildings or infrastructure
using renewable energy is one of the indicators that can be encouraged
South Sumatra has several renewable energy potentials
mainly dominated by biomass due to the large number of agriculture and plantations in this area,” Marlistya added
Marlistya said the challenge to realizing the green city concept in a big city like Palembang is the availability of land
the solution is to maximize the use of rooftop solar power plants
they are utilizing the rooftops of government buildings to be fitted with PLTS
Improving city planning is also crucial to achieving a green city
Marlistya also gave an example of a 15-minute city regulation implemented by one of the cities in Switzerland to realize the concept of a green city
“The 15-minute city regulation means that each trip to school
and other places must be reached within 15 minutes
This regulation will certainly cut the duration of trips and the production of vehicle emissions
considering Palembang is still a developing city
and people from around Palembang must pay attention to the travel model
If the travel model is like Jabodetabek’s
this needs to be adjusted again,” said Marlistya

South Sumatra’s Department of Trade and the Palembang Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) have uncovered several marshmallow products suspected of containing non-halal ingredients
following an inspection at two major retail outlets
The surprise inspection took place at Sevendays and Diamond Market Social Market (Soma) in Palembang
focusing primarily on two brands --Corniche and ChompChomp-- which were found to contain pork elements
The Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) found several imported foods containing non-halal ingredients
"We found similar products during our inspection based on BPJPH's notice," said R.M
Head of the Consumer Protection and Trade Affairs Division at South Sumatra's Department of Trade
the retail management was instructed to immediately remove these products from the shelves until further clarification is provided from central authorities
The BPOM Palembang said that while the discovered products were not identical to those listed in the BPJPH’s alert
their resemblance in brand and form made it necessary to take preventive measures
Products with similar characteristics must not be displayed or sold to avoid misleading consumers," said Bagir
with Diamond Market Soma confirming the immediate removal of the products.
a similar issue arose when nine pork-contaminated snack products --seven of which were labeled halal-- remained on sale in a minimarket in Karawang
despite BPJPH’s earlier directive for their withdrawal
told Beritasatu.com her child had unknowingly consumed marshmallows containing pork
triggering questions about the reliability of halal certifications issued by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI)
The controversy over these findings has raised concerns among academics
with Professor Yuny Erwanto from Gadjah Mada University criticizing the lapse in halal certification processes
“Halal labels should offer reassurance
but incidents like this undermine public trust,” he said
calling for stricter oversight of both domestic and foreign certification bodies
The following food items have been confirmed to contain pork-derived ingredients:
Corniche Teddy Bear Shaped Marshmallow (Apple flavor)
Hakiki Gelatin (Food Additive Gel Forming Agent)
Larbee – TYL Marshmallow with Vanilla Jam Filling
TEMPO.CO, Palembang -The Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa, said 35 percent of elementary schools (SD) in the region suffered mild to severe damage

One of the severely damaged schools is the State Elementary School (SDN) 143 in the Gandus District
and other facilities at this school are deplorable," said Ratu Dewa.
The mayor said the building must be renovated in whole
as it could become a source of disease for the children," he said
Ratu has assigned the Palembang City Education Department to manage and clean all improper facilities
"I asked the education department to clean it up
not to mention the egregious amount of trash
He also requested that the education department inspect the condition of every school in the South Sumatran city
must ensure that all school facilities support students' learning activities
"In short, the head of the education department must visit all of the educational institutions here, including kindergartens, preschools, elementary schools, and junior high schools. Don't just sit around at the office, make sure to inspect all schools in Palembang," said Ratu Dewa

TEKS KOMPAS/ADRIAN FAJRIANSYAHThe Sriwijaya Kingdom Archaeological Park in Palembang
is a concrete evidence of the concept of development that is friendly to nature
with a high-tech hydraulic structure controlling floods during the rainy season and providing a water source during the dry season
Sriwijaya rulers have understood the characteristics of Palembang
which is surrounded by many rivers and swamps
Adaptive development has been going on for centuries but is now slowly being forgotten
The direction of Palembang's development has even changed drastically from a water city to a land city
One of the adaptation patterns of the Sriwijaya rulers (VII-XI centuries) was to place temples and settlements in higher locations that were minimally affected by flooding or inundation
they made water channels or canals to prevent flooding during the rainy season and drought during the dry season
"The evidence of local wisdom can still be seen at the hydraulic site in the Karanganyar area of Palembang
which is now a Kedatuan Sriwijaya tourist park," said Sondang M Siregar
an archaeologist from the Center for Maritime Archaeology and Sustainable Cultural Research
National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)
during a Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of Maritime Archives Exploration and Rescue in Sriwijaya in Palembang on Wednesday (May 22
Replica of the Talang Tuo Inscription at the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park Museum
The legacy of environmental preservation from the rulers of Sriwijaya can also be seen in the Talang Tuo inscription
The content of the inscription dated March 23
684 CE explains that the ruler of Sriwijaya
which was planted with various plants that could be enjoyed by all creatures
there were also several dams and ponds that served as a source of clean water for those creatures
and all the charity that I give can be used for the good of all creatures
those who can move places and those who cannot
and for them it will be the best way to happiness
"If they are hungry while resting or while traveling
hopefully they will find food and drinking water," explained the fragment of the contents of the Talang Tuo Inscription
quoted in the book Kedatuan Sriwijaya second edition 2014

The ability to adapt has enabled Sriwijaya to make Palembang a center for arrival (government) and settlement (community)
Palembang was made a place that fulfilled the requirements as a city or capital of Sriwijaya," said Sondang
The Musi River during the Dutch colonial era was presented in a discussion entitled "Sungai Tuo Kota Palembang: Pemetaan Data Sejarah 100 Tahun Kota Palembang" at the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office in Palembang on Thursday (8/2/2024)
Until the era of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate (XVII-XIX centuries), rivers and swamps in Palembang were still sustainable. At least, according to the Dutch East Indies Regulatory Commissioner in Palembang in 1821, JI Sevenhoven in his report which was recorded under the title, Paintings about Mother Palembang City which was published in 1971
people live and carry out activities on these rivers
Many Europeans prefer to live on rafts rather than regular houses on the mainland
sitting on the veranda of a European raft is very enjoyable because of the cool breeze blowing
"The view from every corner of the river is very beautiful to enjoy
providing an overview of the daily hustle and bustle on this beautiful and vast river," explained Sevenhoven about the Musi River at that time
Understanding the Symbolic Production and Reproduction of the City of Palembang from Colonial to Postcolonial by Dedi Irwanto in 2011
because it has a strong symbolic content as a city of water
Europeans call Palembang the "Venice of the East"
Venice refers to the water city in southern Italy
This nickname was given to it when trade relations were established between the Dutch trading company VOC and the Kingdom of Palembang in the 16th-17th centuries

said that adapting to life on water is the essence of living in Palembang
This is because the majority of the natural landscape in Palembang is flooded or located below water level

there was still 52.24 percent of flooded land in Palembang

the ancestors of the Palembang people chose to adapt to nature," said Vebri
They demonstrate this through various local wisdom in the form of house architecture

the government in Palembang actually adopted a colonial pattern that shifted development from water-based to land-based
the community lost its collective memory of life on water
It is undeniable that houses that used to be in the form of rafts and stages have now turned into vulnerable terraced houses prone to flooding

the ancestors of the Palembang people chose to adapt to nature
Houses that used to have rivers as their front yards have now turned the rivers into their backyards
Water transportation using boats has massively shifted to land vehicles
all efforts made by the government tend to be theatrical and only serve as entertainment for the public
especially with the weekly community cleanup of rivers
These efforts have not touched the sense of concern of the community that directly interacts with the environment
these programs have not been able to significantly minimize the risk of floods
Due to the loss of several rivers that are its identity
which has transformed into a landlocked city
is actually more vulnerable to floods," said Vebri

Lahan basah Sungai Musi luasnya sekitar tiga juta hektar

harga gabus diperkirakan naik dua hingga tiga kali lipat

bagian program Gerakan Sumsel Mandiri Pangan (GSMP)
Ryllian Chandra menilai, budi daya ikan bukan upaya berkelanjutan.

Between Public Doubts and Archaeological Findings of the Sriwijaya Chiefdom Based on existing evidence
Palembang was once the capital of Srivijaya
Audio Berita This article has been translated using AI. See Original
TEKS KOMPAS/ADRIAN FAJRIANSYAHA raft house from the Palembang and Iliran ethnic groups on the outskirts of the Musi River
Traditional Palembang and Iliran houses are usually built on stilts and located on wet land or riverbanks
but there are also raft-shaped houses floating on the river
believed to have developed since the Sriwijaya Kingdom era around the 7th to 14th centuries AD and continue to exist until now
many still doubt whether the Sriwijaya capital is truly located in Palembang
a number of inscriptions and archaeological findings confirm its position
The capital of Sriwijaya in Palembang is not just a figment of the imagination
state that the capital city of this maritime-style chiefdom was indeed in Palembang
This came to the fore at the Coordination Meeting for Preparation for Search and Salvage of Maritime Archives Sriwijaya in Palembang
a questioner from the Archives and Library Service of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU)
said that he was still confused about the exact location of Sriwijaya
a royal center usually leaves traces in the form of a religious center

there are no religious centers in Palembang
Gunawan concludes that Sriwijaya never had its center in Palembang
We would actually be ashamed if a foreigner asked because our history is still full of mysteries," he said
Gunawan's question received a firm response from an archaeologist from the Center for Maritime Environmental Archaeology Research and Sustainable Culture at the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN)
Sondang reminded that Sriwijaya is not fictional because it has data evidence
as well as foreign records or literature that are clear and strong
The explanation that presents evidence of Palembang as the capital of the Sriwijaya Kingdom was presented at the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of Research and Rescue of Maritime History Archive of Sriwijaya in Palembang
Regarding the question of where the capital of Sriwijaya is located and whether the capital is really in Palembang
Sondang confirmed that it was a classic question that is repeatedly asked
all available evidence shows strong indications that Palembang was once the center of the kingdom
"If someone asks where the location of Sriwijaya is
the most abundant archeological remains from the era of Sriwijaya are in Palembang," said Sondang

Archaeologists have attempted to reconstruct the city of Sriwijaya
An area is considered a city or the capital of Sriwijaya if it meets three elements
The footprint of the Sriwijaya settlement center in Palembang stretches from the Karang Anyar area
which is the location of the Sriwijaya hydraulic site
which is the location of the discovery of the Telaga Batu Inscription
The settlement is located on the banks of the Musi River
archaeologists have found many wooden poles that are believed to be the foundations of houses and fragments of ceramics from around the 7th century or the early era of Sriwijaya
The Purbakala Park of the Sriwijaya Kingdom in the Karang Anyar area of Palembang
The park is tangible evidence of the footprint of the friendly development concept with nature initiated by the first king of Sriwijaya
There are a number of high-tech hydraulic structures there that allow for flood control during rainy season and a source of water during the dry season
The center of worship for Sriwijaya in Palembang can be traced to Bukit Siguntang
The center of worship is located slightly to the north
archaeologists have discovered inscriptions
and ruins of temples or the remains of temple foundations
The footprint of the Sriwijaya recreational center in Palembang is located in Taman Sriksetra
which is north of the residential and religious center
The existence of the park is reinforced by the discovery of the Talang Tuwo inscription dated March 23
684 AD which contains an order for the establishment of a park by the Sriwijaya ruler
the pond or water channels described in the inscription still exist
Archaeologists have also found traces of vegetation and plants mentioned in the inscription
It must be remembered that we are on a swampy land
all buildings from the Sriwijaya era here experience natural deterioration that is faster
the majority of these remnants are no longer intact due to the environmental factors in Palembang and its surrounding areas
"It must be remembered that we are on swamp land
all buildings from the Sriwijaya era here suffer from faster natural damage
I have been researching and digging for years up to a depth of 2-3 meters
but I have never found intact buildings from the Sriwijaya era
The temples that are found are only in the form of foundations with a height of 1-2 meters," said Sondang
there are also many remains that have experienced damage or even disappear due to deliberate human actions
we once found a formation of temple bricks at Mount Siguntang
the ruins of the temple no longer exist because they were buried by urban development," he said
The information explaining the spread of the discovery location of the Sriwijaya script in Palembang was presented at the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of the Search and Rescue of Sriwijaya Maritime History Archives in Palembang
Archaeologist from the Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology Research Center of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences
can only be proven if there are written records
the remaining written records are in the form of inscriptions
inscriptions become primary sources to reveal the history of Srivijaya
"Is it possible that there are other written evidences made on paper
it is also possible that they are already damaged since the history of Sriwijaya dates back to 14 centuries ago
a vulnerable history that has been very long," said Wahyu
Also read: Cap Go Meh Becomes Witness to the Harmony of Diversity on the Edge of Musi
Wahyu stated that many of the Sriwijaya inscriptions have been found in Palembang
Their distribution includes areas around the PT Pusri factory which is believed to be the center of the kingdom's arrival
around Bukit Siguntang which is the center of worship
Most of these inscriptions record important events that strengthen Palembang's legitimacy as the capital of the kingdom
One of them is the Kedukan Bukit Inscription which contains the development of a village or settlement or city on June 26
The Kedukan Bukit Inscription is considered the first inscription of Srivijaya because there is no older inscription found
there are several oath inscriptions that show the power of Srivijaya in the Palembang region and its surroundings
The replica of the Kedukan Bukit inscription at the Museum of Sriwijaya Kingdom Archaeological Park in Palembang
is believed to be the oldest inscription from the Sriwijaya era
I have four assumptions regarding the location of Sriwijaya
I believe that Sriwijaya originated in Minanga
Sriwijaya moved to Palembang between the 7th and 9th centuries
moved again to Muaro Jambi in the 10th and 11th centuries
that Sriwijaya belongs to everyone and not just one specific region
it is not surprising that many other regions feel they have a connection to Sriwijaya
with the Bahal Temple and the Pannai Kingdom which are related to Sriwijaya
as well as Riau with the Muara Takus Temple

The phenomenon is normal because Sriwijaya has a very wide influence from Sumatra
"It's okay for other regions to call themselves Sriwijaya
but that doesn't mean they are the capital
it's okay for South Sumatra or Papua to say Indonesia
The Head of the Strategic National Issues Archive Investigation Team at the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI)
it is common for Sriwijaya to undergo a capital city relocation
the process of relocating the capital city occurs due to economic and security factors
The explanation detailing the process of relocating Sriwijaya's capital
which was presented during the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of Maritime History Archive Tracing and Rescue in Sriwijaya held in Palembang
Sriwijaya relocated its capital to develop the kingdom
which is why Palembang was chosen because it was considered to have a more strategic location
they left Palembang due to enemy attacks," he said
Sriwijaya relocated its capital in order to expand the kingdom
and Palembang was chosen as it was considered to have a more strategic location
Agung stated that the classic question of the location of the Sriwijaya capital has proven that Palembang needs a comprehensive Sriwijaya Museum or Study Center
"That place can become a center for research and publication or socialization about Sriwijaya
so that the people of Palembang or South Sumatra can better understand their history
The government and the public must remain vigilant against the potential for further flooding because rainfall in South Sumatra is still high and river tides are still occurring
09 Mar 2025 20:33 WIB · English
KOMPAS – Heavy rainfall that began on Saturday night (8/3/2025) and coincided with river tides has caused flooding in at least six regencies/cities in South Sumatra
Although by Sunday afternoon (9/3/2025) the floodwaters had gradually receded
residents and the government remain vigilant for potential subsequent flooding due to the still high rainfall intensity
Based on Kompas monitoring and data from a number of parties
especially the South Sumatra Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)
the six regencies/cities hit by flooding were Palembang
flooding occurred due to high-intensity rain starting on Saturday around 9:00 PM and almost continuously until Sunday around 2:00 PM
The water began to rise on Sunday around 1:00 AM and gradually increased in height around 4:00 AM
According to the statements of several residents
during the peak of the flood between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM
the water level averaged between 30 centimeters (cm) and 1 meter
Most of the affected residents were located in low-lying areas or swamps not far from the riverbanks
The areas that were quite badly hit include Gandus District
There is no official data from related agencies regarding the number of residents or houses affected by the flood
from field monitoring and information from a number of social media accounts
the affected houses are likely to reach hundreds of units
flooding almost evenly hit residents' houses in the swampy area not far from the riverbank
water approximately 15-30 cm high was still inundating some of the residents' houses located on the riverbank
The floods hit Rosman's (75) house on Jalan Meranjat Raya
Rosman said that the flood meant that he and his family members could not prepare a pre-dawn meal
which were actually their stall's merchandise
the water level reached 1 meter which caused our kitchen to be flooded
there was a stock of bread and instant drinks at the stall that could be eaten for sahur," said Rosman
who has lived on Jalan Meranjat Raya since the 1980s
the water usually recedes within six hours or between 12:00 and 13:00
the puddles have not dried up until the afternoon
It is likely because the flood coincided with the high tide of the Musi River
although the intensity has greatly subsided
the rain is relatively durable because it still occurs until 14:00
Another factor is likely due to the decreasing water catchment area
"Floods have been happening regularly here since the early 2000s
since there was a mall and many new settlements built on land that used to be a water catchment area
every time there is heavy rain for more than an hour
Maybe because the water catchment area is almost gone," said Rosman
had also submerged a number of household items
Residents were resigned to not having the opportunity to transport the furniture
"There was no time and place to evacuate because the flood was quite widespread here," he said
The reservoir was no longer able to accommodate the overflow of rainwater and rivers
causing flooding in the Seduduk Putih area
Yosi assessed that the flooding in his place was quite severe
It is suspected that this is because the reservoir capacity there is not optimal
"Floods here always occur every time there is heavy rain for more than an hour
the floods only occur around the reservoir
the floods are spreading everywhere and are slow to recede
Maybe because the reservoir is no longer able to accommodate the rainwater that has been occurring almost all day since Saturday at 23:00," said Yosi
Palembang Mayor Ratu Dewa told the media crew that the flood this time occurred due to the accumulation of high intensity rain that lasted quite a long time and other factors
including water channels that were not functioning optimally
This situation caused flooding to occur in many areas and was slow to recede
"Relevant agencies have been asked to make the latest data on old flood points that can be handled and new points that need to be resolved immediately
we are trying to clean the water channels that are still clogged
utilizing the pump system to push water faster
and deploying heavy equipment in certain areas," said Dewa
the Head of the Data and Information Unit of the Meteorology
and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) II Palembang Meteorology Station
explained to the media crew that the maximum tide of the Musi River for March 2025 occurred on March 11-12
the maximum tide occurred again at the mouth of the Musi River with a height reaching 3.4 meters
Along with the still high rainfall in some areas of South Sumatra
the Musi River high tide phenomenon could increase the potential for hydrometeorological disasters
especially in areas through which the Musi River flows
Floods here always happen every time there is heavy rain for more than an hour
the average flood height in five other districts/cities is around 30 cm to 2 meters
The flood caused at least thousands of residents' houses to be inundated
especially those located around the riverbanks
Head of BPBD South Sumatra Muhammad Iqbal Alisyahbana said that flooding in Palembang and other regencies/cities occurred almost simultaneously at around 04.00 or 05.00
This was caused by rain evenly from the upstream to the downstream of the Musi River that occurred since Saturday at around 21.00
The situation is getting worse because of the high tide phenomenon
the flood is widespread and tends to recede slowly
especially in low-lying areas or swamps that are not far from the riverbanks
we are still collecting data on the exact number of residents or houses affected by the flood this time," said Iqbal
there were no fatalities and residents evacuated due to the flood
members and equipment from the provincial and district/city BPBDs are on standby in case there are residents who need help
"I ask the team in the field to remain alert and monitor the river water discharge because the rainfall is still high
We are worried that the water discharge will rise again at night when residents are sleeping
The community must also remain vigilant because there is a chance of further flooding," he said
BMKG South Sumatra Coordinator Wandayantolis said
the South Sumatra region is still in the rainy season period which usually lasts until May
rainfall in South Sumatra tends to increase
This is caused by the apparent movement of the sun moving from the southern hemisphere (BBS) to the northern hemisphere (BBU) followed by the shift of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)
The ITCZ is a meeting area of intertropical air masses that bring rain to the areas it passes through
the atmosphere in Indonesia is still influenced by the weak La Nina phenomenon which generally increases the potential for rain in various regions
the MJO (Madden Julian Oscillation) is predicted to enter quadrants III to IV
The MJO is an atmospheric phenomenon that has a broad impact on rainfall patterns in tropical regions
thus contributing to increased rainfall in South Sumatra," said Wandayantolis
South Sumatra has the potential to experience increased rainfall in mid-March
the risk of hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides is also increasing
"The government through related agencies is expected to take early anticipatory steps to reduce the impact of the disaster risk
The community must also continue to be aware of the disaster risk around them," he said

20 March 2025 – Thirteen witnesses attended ready to testify today in Palembang District Court
detailing the devastating impacts of haze pollution caused by fires on peatlands within the concessions of PT Bumi Mekar Hijau
and PT Sebangun Bumi Andalas Wood Industries
three timber suppliers under the control of Asia Pulp and Paper (part of the Sinar Mas Group).[1] The lawsuit
aims to hold the companies accountable for the recurring fires and resulting toxic smoke that blanketed the region in recent years
“The 2023 haze severely disrupted my work,” stated Mat Arif
a construction worker and one of the plaintiffs
“A roofing job that should have taken one week was delayed to three
This caused me significant financial losses due to lost work time and delayed wages.” Plaintiffs and witnesses
arriving from Ogan Komering Ilir Regency and Palembang City
wore masks emblazoned with the slogan “Not Yet Free from Haze,” underscoring the ongoing threat
Twelve of the witnesses, all local residents, echoed the plaintiffs’ experiences, describing economic hardship and other harms caused by the haze. In previous court sessions
plaintiffs documented both material and immaterial damages that arose from emotional and health impacts and the violation of their right to clean air
who works as a Senior Data Strategist for Greenpeace Indonesia
ready to testify that the three companies’ concessions lie within the Sugihan-Lumpur River Peat Hydrological Unit (KHG SSSL)
Sapta’s research findings are that the construction of drainage canals within the defendants’ areas of business operations has dried out the peat
leading to repeated fires and damage to the landscape
the burned area within the three concessions reached a staggering 473,000 hectares
representing 92% of the total burned area in the Sugihan-Lumpur River peat landscape
around half occurred in the latter five years between 2015 and 2020
Fires were recurring over at least 175,000 hectares
Sapta was prevented from testifying because the companies’ lawyers objected to him appearing
and threatened to walk out of proceedings despite the judicial panel declining to uphold their objection.
“There was disagreement over whether this testimony should be allowed
But the final decision is in the hands of the judges
but they were interrupted by the defendants’ lawyers who said they would walk out if the witness was allowed to continue
We consider this behaviour entirely inappropriate and unprofessional
It gives the impression that they do not respect the court proceedings,” said Caesar Aditya
Greenpeace Indonesia is demanding that the court order the three companies to restore the damaged peatlands within their concessions
It also seeks a court order compelling the companies to guarantee that peatland drainage
and the spread of haze from within and around their licensed areas will not recur
“We represent the interests of the impacted environment,” said Belgis Habiba
“The conversion of forests and peatlands into commercial plantations not only affects biodiversity and carbon stocks but also exacerbates global warming and the impacts of the climate crisis.”
a lawyer from the Palembang Legal Aid Institute (LBH Palembang) representing the plaintiffs
added that the companies must be held strictly liable for the haze caused by fires within their concessions
He noted that the companies’ own corporate vision statements include commitments to environmental protection
“By allowing these fires and the resulting haze
the three companies have betrayed their own vision
We are therefore seeking strict liability,” Fribertson stated
“We hope the witnesses’ testimony will help the court clearly understand the devastating impact of the haze on the plaintiffs.”

A joint operation by the Environment and Forestry Ministry and South Sumatra Police has led to the largest rhino horn seizure in the ministry's history
four are suspected to be from Indonesia and four from international sources
“We apprehended ZA while he was in the process of making a transaction
We are investigating the source of these items and whether a syndicate is involved,” said Rasio
the Director General of Law Enforcement at the Ministry
which come from critically endangered species in Indonesia
They are valued at up to $400,000 (Rp 6.2 billion) per kilogram
with the suspect reportedly pricing them at around Rp 35 million per gram
“The total weight of the rhino horns seized is approximately 7 kilograms,” Rasio added
The Ministry plans to seek the maximum penalty for the suspect under Law No
32 of 2024 on the Conservation of Biological Natural Resources and Ecosystems
which mandates a minimum sentence of three years and a maximum of 15 years in prison
the Javan rhino population in Indonesia is estimated at just 81 individuals
This critically endangered species is found exclusively in Ujung Kulon National Park

Deliar is accused of extorting companies in South Sumatra for payments in exchange for the department’s work safety certificates
head of the Palembang Prosecutors’ Office
Hutamrin revealed on Sunday that Hesti was also detained for allegedly concealing documents related to the case
“Our team conducted a search last night to locate evidence items
The department head’s second wife was taken into custody
and documents were seized from her,” Hutamrin told reporters in Palembang
The prosecutor declined to elaborate on Hesti’s specific role in the corruption scheme
“She was arrested to aid the investigation and to prevent her from traveling overseas or out of town,” he added
Deliar allegedly demanded payments from companies and investors operating in the province in exchange for work safety certificates issued by the department
Deliar reportedly designated a specific company to conduct health and safety inspections
the department head extorted companies and investors
or the certificates would be withheld,” Hutamrin said
The payments were allegedly funneled into the bank account of the inspection company appointed by Deliar before being transferred to his personal accounts
The investigation is ongoing to identify other potential suspects involved in the scheme
“We cannot disclose further details at this time due to the active nature of the investigation
so we ask for your patience,” Hutamrin said
TEMPO.CO, Palembang - Indonesia's South Sumatra (Sumsel) coffee has penetrated the international market by conducting its first commercial export to Malaysia and Australia
facilitated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) through an industrial ecosystem in collaboration with various relevant policy makers
The coffee exports that will be carried out throughout 2025 are 14 containers with a capacity of 19.8 tons
The coffee will be sent to Malaysia as many as 10 containers and Australia as many as 4 containers
with a total of 277.2 tons or worth Rp33.6 billion
Head of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the South Sumatra (Sumsel) and Bangka Belitung (Babel) Regions
OJK has only released three containers or 59.4 tons of green bean coffee from 2 coffee producing areas in South Sumatra
there are 8 containers left to be sent to Malaysia and 3 more containers to be sent to Australia with a total of 217.8 tons or worth Rp26.4 billion
namely 39.6 tons and Australia 1 container
so the total is only 3 containers or 59.4 tons sent for this first export," said Arifin Susanto at the Bom Baru Port in Palembang on Sunday
namely Robusta Grade 4 from Pagaralam and Arabica Grade 1 Specialty from Semendo
the coffee sent to Australia is Robusta Grade 1 coffee from Pagaralam
Arifin said that one of the challenges in coffee exports so far is the unclear coffee sales system in South Sumatra
as the number one largest coffee producer in Indonesia
this special coffee is not known by the public
is that for 13 years as a coffee producing area with a coffee production figure of 190,000 tons per year
South Sumatra has still not been able to export coffee alone
exports have not been carried out in South Sumatra
this is the reason OJK and the South Sumatra Provincial Government are forming a sales ecosystem so that they can export abroad
so as to introduce South Sumatra coffee to the world stage and will develop it to various countries
there will also be developments in the future
We will work with original exporters from Palembang to explore exports to Algeria," said Arifin
Meanwhile, Acting Governor of South Sumatra Elen Setiadi said that the potential and economic benefits of South Sumatra coffee are also very high. However, there are still many things that must be done by the South Sumatra Government in post-harvest facilities for South Sumatra coffee farmers
such as providing warehouses and dryers to maintain the quality of the coffee produced
Because what has been produced so far is directly sold to offtakers and buyers
So the added value is only in the coffee product
even though we only need to process it one step further
the economic value may be higher," said Elen

29 August 2024 – A dozen South Sumatran residents attended Palembang District Court this morning to register a lawsuit against three plantation companies over the chronic smoke haze that has blighted their lives due to fires repeatedly burning on peatland inside the companies’ concession areas
The three companies named in the lawsuit are PT Bumi Mekar Hijau (BMH)
and PT Sebangun Bumi Andalas Wood Industries (SBA Wood Industries)
Supported by a coalition of civil society and environmental organizations called the South Sumatra Smoke Suit Initiative (Inisiasi Sumatera Selatan Penggugat Asap – ISSPA)
the twelve residents are asking the court to award compensation for the deprivation of their right to a healthy environment and for environmental restoration after the fires
which have harmed them both materially and immaterially
The plaintiffs are residents from several haze-affected areas including Bangsal Village and Lebung Itam Village
both in Ogan Komering Ilir district; and from the provincial capital Palembang
They come from varied backgrounds: farmers
“For years I have been a victim of smoke haze caused by peatland fires
and last year my swiftlet nesting house burnt down due to these fires
We came today to sue three companies that we blame for causing the haze that we suffer through almost every dry season
we hope to warn the companies that what they are doing is wrong because it damages our families and the environment,” said one of the plaintiffs
Pralensa (who goes by one name) from Lebung Itam Village
the defendant companies are legally responsible for smoke haze which has had a negative impact on the environment and on the health of the public
The plaintiffs have experienced significant impacts and losses
including health problems such as chest tightness and respiratory difficulties
which typically begin in the early morning
The plaintiffs also suffered financial losses because the costs of growing rubber and raising livestock increased
worship and other social interactions were disrupted
triggering feelings of anxiety and depression
I felt stressed and worried about the health of my children and myself
Our family’s economy was disrupted because the smoke prevented us from tapping rubber or catching fish
I decided to become one of the plaintiffs in the hope that companies and the government would pay more attention to the environment,” said Marda Ellius
Ipan Widodo from Palembang legal Aid Foundation
the people of South Sumatra have remained silent about the harmful effects of smoke from forest and peatland fires
This is the first time the community has demanded strict liability for losses resulting from environmental pollution or destruction committed by companies
This struggle marks a new chapter in the development of environmental law in Indonesia and a new style of public resistance against the climate crisis.”
PT BAP and PT SBA Wood Industries are located in peat landscapes
which play a crucial role in carbon storage
The drainage and destruction of peatlands in these areas
which subsequently leads to out-of-control forest fires and haze
The increase in carbon emissions due to forest fires and haze also undermines emissions reduction efforts
jeopardizing the achievement of Indonesia’s climate targets,” said Greenpeace Indonesia Forest Campaigner
“Besides fueling prolonged agrarian conflicts
these three companies have caused severe ecological damage that disrupts the lives of South Sumatrans
It is time for the public to fight to show that they have sovereignty over their living spaces,” stressed the South Sumatra Regional KPA Coordinator
who is also a representative of the ISPA coalition

Indonesia – The pempek restaurants in the Plaju neighborood were full to the gills in early March
Palembang chefs pulverized mudfish caught from the Musi River into subtle variations of the historic city’s specialty fish cake
but there are more buyers during the fasting month,” Plaju resident Nining told Mongabay Indonesia
With the fasting month of Ramadan underway
in the foreground of the oil refinery and riverport estate operated by state energy company Pertamina next door
The Sumatran city of Palembang was home to the Srivijaya Empire from the seventh to 11th centuries
and an important springboard for the reach of Buddhism into Indonesia by Chinese monks
The kingdom’s rulers maintained a vital maritime Silk Road staging post on the Musi River
which today runs through the city of a 1.8 million people before emptying out into the Java Sea
The people of Palembang and in rural South Sumatra have turned to the wetlands and rivers here as the source of food for centuries
In addition to Palembang’s pempek fishcake
culinary heritage in the capital of Indonesia’s South Sumatra province comprises a medley of celimpungan — a soup with tekwan fish balls — laksan
and other fish-based dishes traditionally made with sago
Locally refined palm sugar has historically been used to make the base for pempek
while coconut milk is a key ingredient in the bases for laksan and celimpungan
“The wetlands are an important aspect of the culture of the people of South Sumatra,” said Ryllian Chandra
who researches hydrology and water policy at Raden Fatah State Islamic University in Palembang
industrial landscape change has cut almost half the tree cover in the two decades to 2023
The Musi River begins in Sumatra’s mountainous spine
and winds around 750 kilometers (466 miles) through Palembang into the inlet separating Sumatra from Bangka Island
The wetlands around the Musi River cover an area of around 30,000 square kilometers (11,600 square miles)
Based on data from the Hutan Kita Institute
more than a third of this wetland has been repurposed by extractive and plantation firms
including Pertamina and plantation giant Wilmar International
line the riverbanks and use the river as a shipping route
as the Palembang-based Srivijaya Empire did a millennium earlier
A new wave of oil extraction flourished in the wetlands after local people took over the wells left vacant by the Standard Vacuum Oil Company in the 1980s
Plantation firms have uprooted sago forests for the monocultures supplying international consumer companies with palm oil
Miners working upriver in the Musi are dumping pollution in the river
swamps and lakes have also worsened sediment in the river
which increases that water’s opacity and diminishes photosynthesis
This sediment jams fish gills and injures prospects for spawning
Some here worry the damage to the landscape outside Palembang threatens the city’s culinary heritage
and that environmental factors may already be feeding into prices
Indonesia recorded consumer price deflation for the first time in more than 20 years
after President Prabowo Subianto increased electricity subsidies
food prices in February still rose by 2.3% compared with a year earlier
despite improved growing conditions compared with last year’s drought
Breaking the day’s fast at the end of the day in March was certain to become more expensive
said prices always responded to higher demand during the holy month
Data from the local government show the city gets through around 2 tons of snakehead murrel every day
much of which is minced into pempek and takwan and other recipes that form part of Palembang’s history and identity
and traders like Nining and 48-year-old Utami Dewi find restaurants packed out after sunset as the city’s Muslim population breaks the daily fast
a lot of gabus is brought in from elsewhere,” Utami Dewi
using the local name for the snakehead murrel
Utami said prices spike from around 30,000 rupiah ($1.80) per kilo during Ramadan as the fasting month culminates in the Idul Fitri holiday
“It can reach 100,000 rupiah [$6],” she told Mongabay Indonesia
Some here worry that the seasonal demand-pull inflation on food staples during Ramadan could worsen as environmental change introduces new supply problems
the price of sago flour has continued to go up
so we use tapioca,” said 81-year-old Plaju resident Muryati
In 2019 researchers set out to sequence the DNA of snakehead murrel collected in South Sumatra
“Overfishing and habitat fragmentation due to pollution, illegal logging, and land conversion conduce a decline in this fish population in its habitat,” the researchers noted
which provides a majority of protein intake for 60 million people in Cambodia
face urgent challenges owing to increased salinity and changes to rainfall brought on my climate change
Some in civil society say local administrations in South Sumatra are enthusiastic supporters of local aquaculture industries
but are failing to arrest developments threatening freshwater fish like snakehead
A government program has tried to affordably farm the snakehead in Ogan Komering Ulu district. However, Ryllian, the professor, said the snakehead is a glutton, and that ammonia pollution from fish feed can contaminate water courses, as has occurred in Lake Maninjau in West Sumatra and Lake Batur in Bali
Farming tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and catfish (Clarias gariepinus) in artificial ponds has become policy mainstream
rather than strategic efforts to bolster numbers of freshwater fish in the Musi River
Scholarship of the maritime Srivijaya Empire is limited because archaeology has likely been washed away by river currents
or lost beneath layers of sediment in Palembang
In recent years Palembang’s fishers have been finding priceless Srivijaya artifacts in addition to catching the snakeheads feeding the city’s contemporary culture
Anxiety persists that the presence of freshwater fish may dwindle
much like the forests that grew here for centuries
“If the wetlands are damaged and destroyed,” Ryllian said
“then there’s the possibility these won’t exist anymore.”

the main source of economic growth in South Sumatra is household consumption
Many households in South Sumatra work in the informal sector
If the potential buyers decrease due to a decline in tourist visits

which will have an impact on the economic growth of South Sumatra," said Ichsan
The downgrade of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport's international status to domestic is considered a severe blow to several sectors in Palembang or South Sumatra
It carries the risk of hindering the development of investment and tourism in the region known as "Bumi Sriwijaya."
the downgrade of SMB II Airport's status also has the potential to decrease investment interest in South Sumatra
investment is a source of economic growth in South Sumatra
the realization of domestic investment in South Sumatra reached Rp 25.603,4 billion
making it the second highest in Sumatra after Riau with Rp 48.243,3 billion

making it the second highest in Sumatra after Riau with 2,042.3 million US dollars
the realization of foreign investment in South Sumatra ranks ninth out of a total of 34 provinces
The reduction in the status of SMB II Airport could give rise to multiple negative perceptions among related policy makers
with the potential of abundant natural resources ranging from agriculture
South Sumatra has become a special attraction for both domestic and foreign investors
it also contributes to the increase of employment absorption in South Sumatra
the absence of direct international flights to and from Palembang is likely to decrease investor interest in investing their capital in South Sumatra
and costs required to transit at other international airports
The international arrival space at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang
on Saturday (27/4/2024) had no activity at all
following the airport's loss of its international status
Another factor could be the decline in the reputation of Palembang or South Sumatra in the eyes of investors
"The downgrade of SMB II Airport status could create negative perceptions among policy stakeholders
South Sumatra is considered not a priority area or not optimally supported by the central government
This will have a negative impact on investment development in South Sumatra," said Ichsan

This is because traveling to Palembang from abroad will drain energy and time as well as incur higher costs due to having to transit at other international airports
it is difficult to increase domestic or local tourist visits as there are limited tourist destinations in Palembang or South Sumatra

a lawyer from Palembang Legal Aid Foundation
said: “All three companies named in this environmental damages suit failed to respond to the Palembang District Court’s summons for the first and second hearings
The parties then underwent a 30-day court-ordered mediation process
the defendants did not respond to the plaintiffs’ summary of claim
meaning the case will progress to formal hearings and these brave residents will soon get their day in court.”
lawyers for the plaintiffs presented claims for material damages arising from the smoke haze
in the order of between IDR 200,000 to IDR 200,000,000 (USD 12 – 12,000) along with immaterial damages of IDR 10b per plaintiff (USD 626,000) including for emotional damages and loss of the right to a healthy environment
Following today’s hearing Greenpeace Indonesia made an application to intervene as an interested party concerned about the environment and in solidarity with the haze victims’ efforts for justice
Global Head of Greenpeace Indonesia’s Forest Campaign said: “Through an intervention
we aim to emphasise the urgent need for justice for victims of peatland fires
These three corporations have harmed the health of communities and the nation
triggered environmental destruction and exacerbated the climate crisis through massive carbon emissions
The court must hold them accountable – not only to compensate the victims but also to restore our shared environment that they have damaged through clearing forests and draining peatlands,” said
Global Head of Forest Campaign for Indonesia at Greenpeace
The pulp and paper concessions run by PT Bumi Mekar Hijau (BMH)
and PT Sebangun Bumi Andalas Wood Industries (SBA Wood Industries) are located within the Sugihan River-Lumpur River peat landscape
Forest clearing and peatland draining to convert the landscape into plantations for the pulp and paper industry damages biodiversity and releases the peat’s massive carbon reserves that were accumulated over many thousands of years
making a substantial contribution to global warming
This land conversion for monoculture acacia plantations destroys natural ecosystems through species loss and because companies must first drain the peatlands to grow acacia
burned areas in the three corporations’ concessions spanned 473,000 hectares – 92% of the total burned area within the Sugihan River-Lumpur River peat landscape
Furthermore 175,000 hectares of the area was hit by fires recurring in the same place
compounding damage and illustrating corporate negligence
Greenpeace Indonesia’s research findings indicate that the business activities of PT BMH, PT BAP, and PT SBA Wood Industries are a significant source of dangerous air pollution
these companies’ activities and the haze from their concessions substantially contribute to the climate crisis
“Carbon emissions from this peatland drainage
these fires and the resulting haze clearly hinder emission reduction efforts and jeopardize Indonesia’s climate targets,” Kiki added
support for the smoke haze victims has poured in from South Sumatran community groups
dozens of students and community members from South Sumatra displayed a banner outside the courthouse with the message “Belum Merdeka dari Asap” (Still Not Free From Haze)

about 800 tons of waste are collected every day
KOMPAS — After a delay of almost six years
the construction of a waste management facility for electricity in Palembang
This technology is expected to be a solution to the unresolved waste management problem in Palembang
The Head of the Palembang City Environmental Agency
stated on Monday (10/7/2023) that the development of a waste management system for electricity generation (PSEL) has shown a positive outlook
PSEL in Palembang will be developed by PT Indo Green Power
The electricity produced will be sold to PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN)
PT Indo Green Power and PLN are exploring a power purchase agreement that is expected to be completed together with the first stone laying of the PSEL construction
Mayor of Palembang Harnojoyo will attend an invitation from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on Friday (14/7/2023) to discuss the PSEL development plan
"This program is one of the national strategic projects
so it must be a priority for all parties," said Akhmad
Officials used heavy equipment to arrange landfill piles at Sukawinatan landfill site
The construction of PSEL is planned to begin in August 2023 in the Keramasan area
with a factory area of approximately 8 hectares
"PT Indo Green Power has approximately 22 hectares of land so that the construction of the factory can be carried out immediately," said Akhmad
The development process of the PSEL is estimated to take around 18 months
we are targeting that the PSEL in Palembang can be operational by 2025," he said

The construction of the PSEL in Palembang was actually planned about six years ago
the construction process has not been carried out because the purchase agreement between PLN and a third-party company has not yet reached a consensus
The development of the project finally found a breakthrough after President Joko Widodo instructed to accelerate the process of agreements related to the stalled national strategic project
An officer is cleaning up the banks of Musi River from waste
Based on the study by the Palembang City Government
the potential waste from rivers in Palembang reaches 90 tonnes dominated by household waste
Akhmad stated that the project's environmental impact analysis (amdal) document is targeted to be completed this month
PSEL in Palembang will need around 1,000 tons of waste raw material per day to generate around 20 megawatts of electricity
the required waste raw materials are only around 800 tons
Also read: Indonesian Food Waste Reaches IDR 330 Trillion
The need for waste to operate the PSEL can be fulfilled as the pile of waste in Palembang reaches 1,300 tons per day
"Most of it is household waste," said Akhmad
Akhmad stated that it can be reduced by increasing public awareness to reduce waste production and start managing waste from home
"Many citizens are not aware that waste has economic value
waste accumulation can certainly be reduced," he said
The pile of organic waste is used as one of the planting media in the Buddhi Garden in Banyuasin Regency
The planting process begins with pouring organic waste and then covering it with several planting media and probiotic fluids
This method is expected to reduce waste piles
The Head of the Water Resources Division of the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of Palembang City
stated that pile of rubbish has been one of the causes of flood disasters in the city
This is due to blockages in drainage caused by rubbish which obstruct the optimal function of the drainage system
The garbage in Palembang not only appears on land
it is estimated that there are about 90 tons of garbage coming from rivers in Palembang
the role of the community in not littering in the river is very important to reduce the risk of floods
"This effort must be made because most of the garbage comes from households," said Marlina
we are targeting that PSEL in Palembang will be operational by 2025
Officials from the Palembang City Environmental and Sanitation Agency have carried out the waste disposal of rubbish collected from the banks of the Musi River in Palembang
Executive Director of Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (Walhi) in South Sumatra
stated that before the PSEL (Indonesia's National Waste Disposal System) is implemented
the government must ensure that waste management at the source can run smoothly
"The facilities and infrastructure for household waste disposal must be available," he said
it must be ensured that the raw materials needed for PSEL are truly available
"Don't let poor planning cause PSEL in Palembang to fail," said Yuliusman
we should not let PSEL suffer the same fate as the waste-to-energy power plant (PLTSa) in Sukawinatan Final Processing Site
The 500 kW PLTSa plant is not functioning due to inadequate supply of methane gas
It is considered to have occurred due to insufficient planning
"Waste management must be carried out comprehensively and integratedly so that this program does not harm the government's budget," said Yuliusman

PALEMBANG – Marda Ellius is always stressed out and worried about her and her children’s health whenever flames engulfs a forest located near her house in Bangsal village
When the haze from forest and land fires hits the village
she always feels the air temperature getting hotter and suffers from coughing due to a lack of clean air
The fires also disrupt the family’s income because she

With the support of a coalition of environmental and civil groups
several villagers across Ogan Komering Ilir joined forces in the lawsuit against three companies
all of which are subsidiaries of giant paper producer Asia Pulp and Paper (APP): PT Bumi Mekar Hijau

Environmental groups recorded fires engulfing around 254,787 ha of land in the concessions held by the three companies between 2015 and 2020

referring to the government’s target to reach net-zero emissions by 2060
Indonesia is aiming to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 31.89 percent independently

The revenue from tickets worth Rp 5,000 per person can be directly felt by the community
Arab Village is no different from other villages because there are no more regular activities and few visitors
Ubaidillah said that after the Asian Games 2018
the government's attention gradually decreased
The situation worsened during the Covid-19 pandemic
which made the village closed to the public

the sentiment of a few citizens towards tourism has sharpened once again
"Since being designated as a tourism village in 2017
there has been pros and cons among the citizens
those who were against it were not too vocal because they still felt its benefits
those who are against it have been more vocal because tourism has become more lackluster," he said
Tragic fate was also experienced by houses in Kampung Kapitan

Helmy and other potential investors were unable to build there because the permit was changed by the government to Spiritual Protection
The situation is concerning inside one of the main houses in Kapitan Village
Palembang has sufficient capital to become a center of historical
This is because Palembang has the Musi River
which records the history of global trade since the Sriwijaya Kingdom era (7th-13th centuries) until now
Palembang is also located between Jakarta and Singapore
making it potential to attract both domestic and foreign tourists
"The obstacle is that there has yet to be a leader with the same level of commitment as Eddy Santana in Palembang

there is a road access but it is inadequate
The road is no wider than a meter and passes through a densely populated village that is full of trash and has an unpleasant smell
Another alternative is to use river transportation
The journey using a ketek boat from Plaza BKB to Baba Boen Tjit's house only takes 5-10 minutes and is comfortable
the ketek boat drivers at Plaza BKB often set unreasonable prices
searching for a ketek boat at other locations is relatively difficult

admitted that there is still no optimal coordination between agencies to develop tourism
Despite his authority being limited to promotional activities

recently the government has made revisions that allow for development on the riverbank
