Masjid Baitul Rahim di Singaparna rusak parah akibat penyerangan yang terjadi sekitar pukul 9 pagi itu. Ketua Pemuda Ahmadiyah Priangan Timur, Budi Badrussalam, mengatakan pada BBC Indonesia bahwa para penyerang awalnya mengatakan hanya ingin memasang spanduk penolakan Ahmadiyah. "Situasi awalnya baik-baik, mereka memasang spanduk di gerbang masjid tetapi tiba-tiba ada sekelompok massa yang masuk ke masjid dari samping disusul massa lain yang merangsek masuk dan terjadi pengrusakan," kata Budi. Massa menghancurkan apa saja yang ada di masjid mulai dari jendela dan kaca hingga melempar bom molotov. "Ada tiga molotov yang dilempar ke masjid, sempat terjadi kebakaran. Dua jemaah berusia lanjut juga terluka karena terjatuh akibat dikejar massa," kata Budi. Ia mengatakan polisi dari Polsek Singaparna berada di lokasi saat kejadian. Informasi itu diperkuat dengan rekaman video insiden yang disiarkan oleh berbagai televisi. Kabid Humas Polda Jawa Barat Martinus Sitompul yang dihubungi BBC menolak berkomentar dengan dalih ia belum mendapatkan informasi lengkap mengenai peristiwa itu.
