Amidst the hustle and bustle of South Tangerang City
the shrill cry of the Rhinoceros Hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros)
Its cry signifies the presence of the Hornbill's new home built from degraded land and even a collection of garbage
The crowd of visitors watching the protected animal is also a sign of a growing green business in the middle of the metropolis
captured the attention of visitors attending the Grand Opening of Aviary Park Indonesia
an urban park serving as a conservation area for birds
and various other protected species in South Tangerang
The opening of the bird and butterfly park was inaugurated by the Minister of Forestry
Lusia (30) had just stepped off a wooden boat floating on the lake within the park area
she deliberately took leave and brought her 3-year-old child to visit Aviary Park
Lusia was accompanied by pelicans that were brought in from the United States by Aviary Park Indonesia
I just found out from social media that there is a place like this near my house
this used to be a temporary garbage dump," said Lusia
The President Director of Aviary Park Indonesia
revealed that before becoming a conservation park
this 5.9-hectare land was an illegal dumping ground
His party collaborated with PT Jaya Real Property to transform the degraded area into an urban park."
he needed 12,000 cubic meters of excavated soil
with details of 4,000 hardwood trees and more than 6,000 bamboo trees
Thousands of bamboo became a bamboo forest with a cool cover
Among them is a nearly extinct tree called Shorea javanica or known as the white damar tree
The tree was planted by Raja Juli Antoni as a marker for the inauguration of the place
by covering the waste with 12,000 cubic meters of soil
All of this was done to support the ecosystem that serves as a habitat for the animals living here," explained Michael
which has been under construction since 2021
already houses 500 animals comprising three types of fauna: birds
there are still several distinctive animals such as horses
"Our uniqueness lies in being located in the middle of the city
It is rare to find a conservation institution in the heart of the city
We also have five ecosystems here to support the lives of the animals," explained Michael
The five ecosystems are detailed firstly the desert ecosystem filled with typical landscapes with white sand and large rocks
visitors can see and interact with typical desert animals such as nandu birds
Everything is done to support the ecosystem that is home to the animals that live here
there is the savanna ecosystem that features vast grasslands with distinctive trees
visitors can see and interact with parakeets
sheep and ponies that can be ridden by children
This habitat is home to exotic birds such as hornbills
Then the swamp ecosystem that presents a wet habitat with giant tulip plants
Visitors can also see lesser flamingos and alligator fish
This area is inhabited by water birds such as pelicans
grouse and thousands of fish that live in the water
Michael explained that Aviary Park Indonesia is a conservation institution and a company with the name PT Aviary Jaya Lestari
who once served as General Manager of Taman Safari Indonesia in Prigen
cannot be separated from the world of conservation
the conservation industry is not only about business
Preservation which is now the responsibility of all industries with the term ESG (Environment
Michael and his team transformed abandoned and even damaged areas into animal homes
Experiences that can only be enjoyed in native forests in remote islands in Indonesia and even other continents can now be enjoyed by city dwellers
and residents can enjoy it like a city park
we are related and coordinated with the Ministry of Forestry
Aviary Park Indonesia functions as a partner of the Ministry of Forestry
so it is not uncommon for us to also accommodate animals that are saved from smuggling to live in new homes," added Michael
Raja Juli Antoni noted that in Indonesia there are at least 83 conservation institutions similar to Aviary Park Indonesia but they are not far from the original habitat of the animals
What Aviary Park Indonesia has done is an extraordinary step in the principle of preserving nature and its contents
and now what we are enjoying today has happened
even all Indonesian citizens," said Raja Juli
Raja Juli and his entourage cut the ribbon as a sign of the inauguration
the marker used was carried by a bird named Gala
The show will be able to be watched at Aviary Park Indonesia and other shows ranging from predatory birds to parrots
The presence of Aviary Park Indonesia can be a place to escape from the traffic jams and busyness of South Tangerang City and even Jakarta
the chirping of insects and the lush trees
Jakarta. A 62-year-old woman passed away after waiting in line to get a 3-kilogram liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) canister on Monday afternoon in the South Tangerang area
Yonih Binti Saman was suspected to have become exhausted after waiting for an hour in line for the subsidized gas
Yonih was slumped over while holding two of her gas canisters
“She had been waiting in line for an hour when I received the news that she was found weak after obtaining the gas
She was brought home but her condition worsened
she passed away shortly after arriving,” Rohaya
Neighbors described Yonih as a hardworking and kind woman who sold rice cakes at her eatery
“She told me this morning that she was going to get gas
She mentioned that the new regulations required an ID card,” one neighbor recalled
the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has imposed restrictions on the sale of 3-kilogram LPG canisters by retailers
Deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Yuliot Tanjung said the government is encouraging retailers to register as official depots under Pertamina
Retailers are required to register online through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system
obtaining a Business Identification Number before officially partnering with Pertamina
streamline the distribution chain for greater efficiency
and ensure equitable access to 3 kg LPG across all regions
the restrictions have triggered widespread complaints about shortages
including Pasar Manggis Village in Setiabudi District
have reported difficulty obtaining 3 kg LPG over the past week
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia denied any shortages in the capital
attributing the challenges to distribution scheme changes
residents have expressed frustrations on social media over difficulties in obtaining 3 kg LPG
Prices in the province have surged to Rp 50,000 per canister
more than double the subsidized price of Rp 19,000

Jakarta - The police and prosecutors have yet to target the officials who issued building use permits and maritime ownership rights in Tangerang
But neither of the law enforcement agencies are targeting these big names
such as the businesspeople or the officials who issued the permits
despite their involvement in the construction being clear as day
And the AGO says its investigation has ground to a halt because village officials are refusing to hand over documentation
Arsin’s confession is a good starting point
but the investigation must not solely focus on him
especially since the National Land Agency has discovered that 263 HGB certificates have been issued for the area
The police and the AGO should continue their investigation based on the issuing of these HGB and freehold certificates
5/1960 on the Basic Regulations of Agrarian Principles states that HGBs for state land are issued based on a ministerial decision to grant the right
and Land Registration clearly states that rights to land in maritime areas are issued by the ministry responsible for maritime and fisheries affairs
As well as irregularities in the granting of HGBs and ownership rights
this magazine also found another violation
namely the inclusion of the sea barrier area as a housing zone in the use of marine space in the regional spatial planning plan
the entire region should be a public space in the interests of fishermen and the public
This reinforces the impression that the sea barrier was planned for a reclamation project
similar to a number of islands in the waters off Jakarta
police and AGO investigators should start going after the regional heads who made recommendations
the echelon I officials who processed the permits
Regarding the issuing of the HGBs and the freehold rights
the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency must take responsibility
for the issuing of permits for maritime areas
the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister must be questioned
President Prabowo Subianto has explicitly asked for the irregularities with the sea barrier to be thoroughly investigated. The police and the AGO cannot refuse to carry out this order
the expose of this planned crime that has damaged the environment and deprived coastal people of their rights must go beyond simply making scapegoats out of low-ranking officials

Central Jakarta expects a drizzle in the afternoon today
followed by a thunderstorm at 6:00 to 7:00 p.m
Similar weather will occur in West Jakarta

BMKG forecasts a drizzle in East Jakarta and North Jakarta at 4:00 p.m
Thunderstorms will follow in both regions at 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In contrast with the other regions in Jakarta
Thousand Islands will only face a drizzle in the evening
BMKG forecasts a drizzle in Bogor City this afternoon
interspersed with a moderate-intensity rainfall at 4:00 to 5:00 p.m

expecting a drizzle from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A chance for thunderstorms is also present in Depok City
which will last until 8 in the evening.

but the latter also expect moderate intensity rain in the afternoon.

Jakarta - The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries sealed an illegal sea fence in the waters of Tangerang Regency
The unauthorized sea fence had been in place since 2023 until it was finally sealed by ministry officers on Thursday
The sea fence made of bamboo slats stretched for more than 30 kilometers. The fence crosses the coastal areas of 16 villages in six sub-districts in Tangerang Regency
“We are halting the fencing activities while resuming the investigation to search for the responsible parties,” said the director general of Marine Resource and Fisheries Surveillance Pung Nugroho Saksono
Ipung said the sea fencing was illegal based on the lack of suitability of the marine space use (KKPRL) permit.
The fence is located in the Capture Fisheries Zone and Energy Management Zone regulated by the Banten Provincial DKP Spatial Plan Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2023.
also breached the provision under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)
as it risks harms for fishers and the coastal ecosystems
Ipung said joint personnel of Marine Special Police from KKP and the Banten Marine and Fisheries Agency had investigated the illegal sea fence last year and found the 30.16 kilometers of sea fence
which equal to about half of the length of Tangeranf Regency’s coastline.
Tempo notes that local fishers have been complaining about the sea fences since 2023
A team from the Banten Provincial Marine and Fisheries Agency had also inspected the activity directly on the ground

The dismantling of the 30.16-kilometer-long sea fence had been temporarily halted for seven days due to bad weather conditions
The Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service
stated that the dismantling of the sea fence
was carried out at two locations: Tanjung Pasir
where 500 meters of the sea fence had been removed
a total of 20.7 kilometers out of the 30.16-kilometer sea fence in Tangerang has been dismantled
Wira said that the sea fence dismantling in the Tangerang waters had faced challenges due to strong winds and high waves
we have continued the dismantling after considering the weather conditions at the site," Wira said in a written statement on Tuesday
Wira said that the Indonesian Navy is still working to dismantle the entire sea fence spanning the three areas of Tangerang
this effort is part of the institution's commitment following an order from President Prabowo Subianto
"The President of Indonesia has ordered the opening of access for fishermen to earn a living and restore their daily livelihood of fishing," said Wira
A total of 256 personnel have been deployed to continue dismantling the sea fence in Tangerang
consisting of elements from the Indonesian Navy
The Indonesian Navy has deployed several tools for this operation
Previously, the dismantling of the sea fence in Tangerang was halted for a week due to weather conditions

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) plans to dismantle a 30.16-kilometer sea fence along the North coast of Tangerang Regency within the next one to two days
located approximately 500 meters from the shoreline
spans across 16 villages in six sub-districts
it stretches across three villages in Kronjo Sub-district
and two villages in Teluknaga Sub-district
the KKP is still coordinating with various stakeholders to finalize the dismantling timeline
“Perhaps there will be a solution about when the dismantling will begin in the next 1-2 days,” stated Halid Yusuf
Director of Fisheries Resources Supervision at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries
during an inspection of the sea fence on Cangkir Island
Halid conducted a field inspection of the sea fence along the coasts of Kronjo and Sukadiri
along with representatives from the Indonesian Ombudsman
and the Banten Province Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Agency
The inspection involved a boat tour around the sea fence
Halid emphasized that the issue of the illegally constructed sea fence is a shared responsibility among several ministries and institutions
the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN)
coordinated action is needed to determine the next steps,” he explained
The KKP is currently investigating the entity responsible for constructing the sea fence
Another party previously claimed responsibility
“We will consider all potential reactions
It is clear that the Government is committed to enforcing regulations and upholding the law,” he stated
Halid confirmed that the KKP has sealed off the sea fence along the northern coast of Tangerang Regency due to its unauthorized construction
whether involving heavy equipment or community participation
a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman who led the inspection of the sea fence in Tangerang waters
highlighted the significant impact of this structure on public services
particularly the livelihoods of local fishermen
“We aim to ensure that fishing activities can resume normally
as this fence is severely disruptive,” stated Yeka
He mentioned that thousands of fishermen have suffered financial losses due to the sea fence over the past six months
“The extended travel distance to sea
and reduced fishing time have inevitably decreased their income,” explained Yeka

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fishermen who are members of the Pantura People's Network (JRP) of Tangerang Regency, Banten, claim that the 30.16-kilometer bamboo sea fence that stretches along the north coast of the area was built as a tsunami and abrasion disaster mitigation
"The sea fence that stretches along the north coast of Tangerang Regency was deliberately built independently by the community
This was done to prevent abrasion," said JRP Coordinator Sandi Martapraja in Tangerang on Saturday
He said that if the condition of the sea wall is good
the area around the bamboo fence and its surroundings can be used as a fish pond
This provides new economic opportunities and welfare for the local community
said that the construction of the bamboo sea wall was intended to make it easier to catch fish and cultivate green mussels and break the waves
Ombudsman Considers JRP's Reason Illogical
Head of the Banten Province Ombudsman Representative Fadli Afriadi said the fishermen's group's claim was baseless
"Based on information from fisheries and marine experts
it is also illogical for the reasons given
It seems impossible," said Fadli in Tangerang
He considered that the presence of the sea fence would reduce the added value of fishermen
This was based on the results of discussions with fisheries and marine experts
Member of the Indonesian Ombudsman Yeka Hendra Fatika estimated that the losses arising from the construction of illegal sea fences in Tangerang Regency reached IDR 16 billion
This amount is an initial calculation of the losses experienced by fishermen and fish farmers on the coast where the sea fence was erected
as long as there is that case," said Yeka via telephone on Sunday
He conveyed the initial calculation after previously visiting a number of sub-districts affected by the sea fence in December 2024
Yeka said that the losses arose from various difficulties experienced by fishermen
including because they had difficulty going to sea
coastal residents in Tangerang Regency have to travel further to go to sea because of the fence
Fishermen have to take a road around the fence which takes up to 1.5 hours to go to sea
and it also wastes fuel because if they want to go to sea they have to spend an hour and a half on the road
it is not known for sure who built or owns the fence
he received reports that a number of residents whose villages or sub-districts are not yet known helped build the fence
They were paid by parties whose identities are not yet known to build the fence from bamboo slats
"There is a story from the reporter who said that they were paid
Ombudsman Surprised that the Sea Fence in Tangerang Has Been Left There for So Long
Yeka was also surprised that the construction of the sea fence was not acted on more quickly by the authorities
He considered the sealing that only occurred on January 9
"It's clearly disrupting the fishermen's work
He said that there should be parties at the location who have the authority to stop the illegal fencing
He had visited a number of villages affected by the sea fencing in Tangerang Regency in December 2024
Yeka did not want to speculate too early about why it was allowed to happen
how can the sea be fenced and the village officials are silent
and the law enforcement officers are also silent," he said
He said he had received a number of reports about intimidation received by residents because they reported the construction of the sea fence
he could not confirm the incident or the identities of the parties who intimidated the community

"But we are still waiting for other information before dismantling the aircraft's engine," he said
the causes of the accident can be identified
Including the reason why the pilot directed the plane to this location

KOMPAS - The overflow of the Ciliwung River and Pesanggrahan River flooded parts of Jakarta
with water levels exceeding three meters on Tuesday (4/3/2025)
the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta is committed to focusing more on improving the Ciliwung River and has requested residents living in flood-prone areas to be willing to relocate to apartment complexes
Malik (58) could only resign himself as he looked at his house in RT 06/RW 07 Rawajati
Floodwaters submerged his house up to 3 meters due to heavy rain and the overflow of the Ciliwung River
Malik's house was briefly submerged by floodwaters
but only to a depth of approximately 60 centimeters
He had already finished cleaning his house by that evening
I was already prepared; I had moved my belongings to a neighbor's house," he said
He stated that floods have become an annual visitor in Rawajati
The last major flood Malik experienced was in 2020
another major flood has arrived after five years
there were also devastating floods in 2007 and 2012," said Malik
flooding in her area happened on Monday morning (3/3/2025) due to a broken water gate
The water began to recede at around 9:00 PM WIB
flooding occurred again on Tuesday (3/4/2025) morning with higher intensity
It overflowed from the Ciliwung River," said Cici
water was still inundating residents' homes in RW 07
with some areas reaching up to 2 meters on Tuesday afternoon
a post has been set up in front of the campus of the Pertiwi College of Foreign Languages (STBA)
Cici expressed her disappointment over the inadequate handling of flooding problems in Jakarta
DKI's budget has been very large to deal with flooding
How come it has never been resolved with just one flood problem
Head of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Data and Information Center Mohamad Yohan said that South Jakarta and East Jakarta were the areas most affected by flooding in Jakarta on Tuesday (3/4/2025)
The height of the water in the two areas reached more than three meters
Yohan said the current flood was mostly caused by the overflowing Ciliwung River
there has also been massive high-intensity rain in the West Java region which has caused rivers in Jakarta to overflow
"The cause of the flood in Jakarta is high rainfall and the overflowing of the Pesanggrahan River
the water level in the Ciliwung River reached 80 centimeters
Although the status of the Katulampa Dam has been lowered from Alert 1 to Alert 4
residents living in areas through which the Ciliwung River flows must remain vigilant
considering the potential for rain in the Bogor
The Katulampa Dam is located on the Ciliwung River in Bogor City
some of the Ciliwung River water is channeled through the sluice gate to Kali Baru Timur
the water then flows to Jakarta then to Cimanggis
and Cilangkap before finally flowing into the Kali Besar area
BPBD Jakarta recorded that there were 122 RTs and two roads in Jakarta that were submerged in floods as of Tuesday (3/4/2025) at 16:00 WIB
This number has increased from 105 RTs on Tuesday afternoon
two roads that were flooded were Jalan Basoka Raya
with a water level reaching 50 centimeters
BPBD noted that 1,792 people were displaced due to the disaster
The evacuees came from Kampung Melayu Village
The largest number of evacuees came from Pejaten Timur Village
the flood trend in Jakarta is quite fluctuating
He gave an example of flooding in Kampung Melayu which had receded
then rose again due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River
This unstable condition makes it difficult for BPBD to predict the next situation
BPBD has deployed all personnel to handle the flood this time
his party is coordinating with other related parties
such as the Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency
the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat)
Tangerang City BPBD recorded 13 flood and inundation points in Tangerang City
The worst situation occurred in the Ciledug Indah area
namely with a flood height of more than 1 meter
Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of Tangerang City BPBD
the flood occurred due to rain that was evenly distributed in the Jabodetabek area and the overflowing of the Angke River
These two conditions caused the Ciledug area and several eastern areas (of Tangerang) to overflow this morning
the ones to pay attention to for the past two days are the Cisadane River and the Angke River," said Andia
flooding in several areas in South Tangerang varies in height
ranging from 20 centimeters to 120 centimeters (cm)
Based on the report of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Tangerang City (Tangsel)
flooding in Tangsel occurred in 11 locations
The cause was high rainfall intensity and the overflowing of the Serua River
"There are 11 flood points in South Tangerang due to heavy rain and the overflowing of the Serua River," said the Commander of the Tangsel City BPBD Task Force
on Tuesday afternoon there were only 3 points that had not receded
and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) believes that the floods that submerged areas in Jakarta
The water level reached 1 meter to 4 meters
"The average flood in Jakarta and its surroundings (is) sent from Puncak
all of which is channeled into the Ciliwung River Basin Area," said the Deputy for Meteorology at BMKG
the heavy rain that poured down on Bogor City on Sunday (2/3/2025) night was considered extreme
based on monitoring data from the BMKG meteorology team
the thickness of the rain intensity was more than 110 millimeters (mm) per day
BMKG assessed that the extreme rainfall allowed the Ciliwung watershed to overflow
The overflow became a flash flood that hit several sub-districts in Bogor City and Bogor Regency and was carried downstream to Jakarta
whose highest water level reached 4 meters
occurred because the area received water from the upstream of the Ciliwung River Basin
there was heavy rain with an intensity of 165-208 mm per day in several areas in Bekasi
This is due to the significant growth of convective clouds on the cyclonic meso-circulation scale which results in a slowdown in wind and so on," said Guswanto
the flooding in Jakarta and its surrounding areas is still relatively low compared to the flooding that occurred in 2020
BMKG recorded that local rainfall in Jakarta was very extreme with a thickness of 377 mm per day
BMKG is coordinating with related institutions to discuss the need for weather modification operations as an effort to control potential rain and support the acceleration of disaster impact recovery
high intensity rain still has the potential to occur in the Jabodetabek area
BMKG detected an increase in atmospheric activity that has the potential to cause heavy rain to pour over most areas in western Java in the next week
Guswanto also asked the public to always monitor weather condition information regularly to anticipate the impact of the ever-evolving atmospheric dynamics
Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno said that the dredging of reservoirs and rivers is included in his 100-day work program with Pramono Anung
With the National Strategic Program (PSN) for flood control
his party will focus more on fixing the Ciliwung
the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government received a fairly large budget from the Central Government related to PSN for flood control
This is expected to accelerate flood management which has so far been hampered by regional budget limitations
Rano did not specify how much budget was allocated to address the flood problem in Jakarta
the Jakarta Provincial Government has started a dredging program in 17 rivers and canals to prevent flooding
The dredging involved 1,000 officers using 122 units of heavy equipment and 84 units of other supporting equipment
Rano said that dredging will continue until August 2025
and this activity will continue even though it is the month of Ramadan
Dredging is done periodically and not only once every six months
it is targeted that 1 million cubic meters of mud sediment can be transported
Rano asked Jakarta residents living in flood-prone areas to be willing to be relocated to flats (rusun)
Moving to rusun is the most realistic solution to prevent residents from being affected by flooding
he admitted that residents' interest in moving to flats was still low even though they had been affected by floods many times

TEMPO.CO, South Tangerang - South Tangerang Mayor Benyamin Davnie responded to the recent talks on a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) transportation project connecting the capital city of Jakarta and South Tangerang City
Benyamin raised objections to the utilization of Regional Budget or APBD funds for this project
The discourse surrounding the MRT project has resurfaced several years after the city administration initially proposed it
and Benyamin stated that his side would welcome the project with open arms
this aligns with our proposal to the Transportation Minister several years ago; an MRT that crosses South Tangerang
we had already proposed the route,” Benyamin said on Monday
He claimed that he remained unaware of the details of the project development plans and hoped for further discussions
The construction budget for the MRT would undoubtedly be substantial
and Benyamin claimed that the regional budget would be unable to support it. It will definitely be huge
The South Tangerang's regional budget is only Rp4.6 trillion
and that's all for the people of South Tangerang
It (the MRT project) will be a bit heavy for us,” he said
Benyamin also hoped that there would be a meeting with the Jakarta Provincial Government regarding the MRT project region considering the agglomeration of Jakarta and South Tangerang
which has become a unified development concept
