BROCKTON – A Brockton man has been indicted on charges that he was one of three men who attacked and beat a man in his eastside home A Plymouth County grand jury today returned indictments against Alezio Amado-Lopes assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a victim over 60 assault and battery upon elderly or disabled according to a statement from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office Brockton police responded to 44 Massachusetts Ave. Officers interviewed the male victim who said three men forced their way into his home The victim was badly beaten and transported to Brockton Hospital where he was treated for a broken hip  The victim reported to police that he was in his garage when three men approached him and began beating him The victim told police he fell to the ground and was struck again repeatedly before one of the men Tasered him and dragged him across the garage floor The victim told police he was then tied up with the suspenders he had been wearing before the men fled in a black four-door vehicle Sharon Police responded to the Econo Lodge in Sharon for reports of gunshots fired a search warrant was obtained and a room at the hotel was searched police located items they confirmed with Brockton Police to have been stolen in the home invasion police also found a multi-colored hat and black half-face mask and a Massachusetts driver’s license that had been cut into pieces belonging to the victim Police determined that Amado-Lopes rented the hotel room and DNA on the mask found matches the DNA profile of Amado-Lopes Friday's indictments allege that Amado-Lopes was one of three masked men who attacked this Brockton man and beat him in his home who is currently in custody on another case will be arraigned on these charges in Brockton Superior Court at a later date The investigation is being conducted by Brockton Police Detectives  were on Sheppard Avenue Friday afternoon when they noticed a person acting suspiciously and charged him with the unlawful carrying of a firearm destruction of property and disturbing the peace BROCKTON - A Brockton man was the target of a shooting last week when gunfire erupted at a Sharon motel The same man was arrested two days later after being on the run from police for weeks in connection with an October incident where he is accused of shooting three people outside a Brockton 7-Eleven The incident at the motel played out like a scene in a movie Video surveillance showed Alezio Lopes running past rooms at the Econo Lodge and another man wearing a white hooded sweatshirt A frantic Lopes fell down and rolled on the ground multiple times as he tried to escape from Gomes At one point he ran up a set of stairs to the second floor of the motel When Gomes reached the second floor he appeared to fire two shots at Lopes Lopes then ran down another set of stairs and hid underneath the stairwell Gomes followed down the stairs and ran over to a black Dodge Ram pickup truck driving up onto grass and nearly striking the hotel manager who was standing in the parking lot A short time later Lopes then emerged from his hiding place and went into the lobby of the motel and asked for some water "He attempts to enter the locked area of the office but is denied the clerk asks if he is ok and he told her to call the people in Room 142 and tell them I'm ok," court records state He left the lobby and went back toward Room 142 The manager told police that Lopes did not appear to be injured A black vehicle was then seen fleeing from behind Room 142 When officers responded they found three shell casings and multiple bullet fragments One shell casing was found outside of Room 155 Two more were found on the second floor catwalk where Gomes was chasing Lopes Bullet fragments were found near the stairs were Lopes was hiding Gomes checked into Room 147 and requested another room and was moved to Room 140 Both rooms were scheduled to checkout at 11 a.m He pleaded not guilty Monday in Stoughton District Court to charges of assault with intent to murder assault and battery with a dangerous weapon discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and possession of ammunition without an FID card He had been on the run from police for five weeks He is accused of shooting three people outside a Brockton 7-Eleven when an argument between two groups of people turned violent The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries It is unclear if the incidents were connected or who the victims were The court documents on the case were impounded as of Wednesday afternoon Lopes is facing 10 charges including three counts of assault to murder He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing next week Both men are known to police and have been charged with drug and gun activity in recent years A 21-year-old Brockton man was arrested Saturday morning as the alleged shooter in an October incident that injured three people outside a 7-Eleven Brockton police said Saturday afternoon that Alezio Lopes who they believe was responsible for the 7-Eleven shooting was arrested early Saturday by Brockton detectives outside the 7-Eleven at 662 Belmont Street in Brockton when an verbal altercation between two groups of people turned physical and then violent were treated and released from the hospital Investigators have been looking for the Brockton man ever since Store surveillance video aided Brockton police in the investigation credited the multi-jurisdictional cooperation with the Massachusetts State Police and Taunton Police “We are relieved to get this dangerous individual off the street," Carpenter said in the press release the courts will hold him pending these serious charges." BROCKTON - A Brockton man accused of leading police on a chase through Bridgewater and crashing early Sunday morning was a no-show at his arraignment in court Tuesday morning negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation Lopes was already out on bail in an April case where he is charged with illegally having a gun and trafficking heroin Lopes was taken into custody at gunpoint early Sunday morning following a high-speed chase through Bridgewater A Bridgewater police officer attempted to stop a 2006 gold Infiniti M35 sedan on Center Street The officer didn’t immediately begin pursuing the car when the officer attempted to stop the car again and the driver fled The driver continued south on Vernon Street for a couple miles “As the suspect vehicle approached speeds of 70 to 80 mph the Bridgewater police unit backed off of the pursuit,” Schlatz said Lopes crashed at the intersection of Vernon and Green streets “The suspect vehicle was unable to manipulate the intersection and struck a tree,” he said He was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth with minor injuries and then booked at the Bridgewater police station after being released about 5 a.m. He posted $390 to be released and was supposed to appear for his arraignment Tuesday morning at Brockton District Court Lopes told police he was out on bail for firearms charges It was at least the third time he had been arrested this year when police say he and another man were making drug deliveries throughout the city Lopes was charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to violate the drug laws Police said Lopes was also arrested back in January on charges of breaking and entering during the night assault and battery and threats to commit a crime.
