has put into operation a 15MW/9MWh battery storage unit in Italy The utility arm of the large firm announced the project in Assemini It shares grid connection infrastructure with an existing 23MW PV plant that Eni Plenitude owns nearby With an installed power rating of 15MW and an energy storage capacity of 9MWh giving a sub-1-hour duration, the LFP battery system is most likely one of the fleet of projects that won awards in the Fast Reserve auction of 2020. That auction saw five-year contracts handed to some 230MW of battery storage projects for 2023-27 delivery a 9MW/8MWh project in Liguria from Renantis The auction’s biggest winners were multinational utilities Enel and most battery storage projects’ business cases in Italy are being built mainly around capacity markets and energy arbitrage director of Investment Management Battery Storage at Aquila Clean Energy EMEA Energy-Storage.news interviewed Aquila and two other developers entering the Italian grid-scale storage market for a special feature in PV Tech Power 35 (Premium access) The grid-scale battery energy storage market in Italy is set to become one of Europe’s most active in the coming years having been largely non-existent until now Mario Puddu he was re-elected for the second time mayor of Assemini, in the Cagliari area. From the beginning of the count, the gap between him and his adversary Diego Corrias became evident: first 500 votes, then 700. When one section was missing at the end (the 21st) and with an advantage of 900 votes, Puddu published a post on Facebook in Sardinian and celebrated the triumph in the headquarters crowded with supporters and media. The final results show that Puddu got 4.284 votes (54,5 percent), Corrias 3.337 votes (42,4 percent) and there were 242 invalid ballots. Puddu wore a Cagliari Calcio shirt with an autographed dedication by Gigi Riva. The new mayor stressed that his election is not a personal revenge and thanked voters and the coalition for their support. The only drawback was abstention, with two-thirds of voters not voting. Puddu has promised to work to get more people involved over the next five years. His opponent, Diego Corrias called the new mayor to congratulate him and underlined the high rate of abstention, reiterating his commitment to work for Assemini as a member of the opposition. Even the outsider from the ballot, Niside Muscas, pledged to play a constructive role as opposition councilor to improve the city. 2000 - 2025 Nova Agency. This is the initial stage of an American tour that will go on until 2025 and Rochester (Minneapolis) is just its first stop (the exhibition is going to be shown at the Rochester Art Center until 29 January 2023). We met with Melissa Ianniello to explore her reasons for creating this long-term project. It is a very political question. I’m happy you asked me this. To me coming out means bringing your own experiences into the world; in a way you are offering the other person a part of yourself. It’s as if you were saying: "I trust you with an important part of me so that you can also open up". For example, when I came out to my brother I was almost 19 years old. He was going through a teenage crisis and I really wished he would confide in me. For this reason I decided to come out to him: I wanted to give him a gift and let him know I trusted him. Coming out means “I trust you and I am relying on you”. And this thing worked. He asked me: “Are you happy?” I said yes and he answered very candidly: “Then it’s all good”. Right after that he opened up with me and started to tell me about what was going through his mind, his troubles and his thoughts. It was a beautiful conversation, an open exchange between brother and sister. Coming out is something that concerns everyone. It is not just done to reveal a sexual orientation or a gender identity but also a religious belief, a disease…    The ultimate purpose of coming out is to reflect the complexity of the real world. Produtcs and solutions for business and customers Italy and abroad Live the city with Eni's car-sharing service Remediation as a driver of sustainable development after the safety measures and environmental rehabilitation The current status of the areas owned by Eni Rewind of contaminated land undergoing remediation activities with photovoltaic plants already installed in Sicily We have already developed exemplary circular economy projects with our activities at the Ravenna (Ponticelle) This demonstrates our willingness to promote and implement a new development model that is attentive to the needs of local territories a disused industrial area outside the Ravenna petrochemical plant is a concrete example of how remediation can bring added value to land and the local communities We are implementing a virtuous development model for the regeneration of production in line with the circular economy principles As the owner company of the former industrial area we first finalised permanent safety measures with capping covering 18 of the total 26 hectares and then began the interventions for its valorisation our project foresees a bio-recovery platform a multifunctional waste pre-treatment platform (to be realised in partnership with Herambiente) and a photovoltaic plant completed by Plenitude in February 2024 Urbanisation works and services are also planned in the area The Ponticelle regeneration project in Ravenna of which 18 are subject to permanent safety measures opening of the work site for permanent safety measures year of completion of permanent safety measures the Plenitude plant covers an area of 11 hectares and is made up of over 10,000 state-of-the-art photovoltaic panels in monocrystalline silicon The panels are installed on special structures with a solar tracking system and are secured on ballasts that stand on the waterproof capping built as part of the permanent safety measures interventions The energy storage system will use a new generation of batteries which will allow Eni to experiment with innovative solutions the photovoltaic plant will produce enough energy to power over 3,000 families Designed for the aerobic biodegradation of hydrocarbon-contaminated soil (e.g using indigenous microorganisms (bacteria) to recover and reuse a valuable natural resource It also includes a bio laboratory for carrying out preventive analytical checks to ensure suitability of waste entering the plant as well as periodic monitoring surveys of the bioremediation processes are realising a state-of-the-art environmental platform for managing industrial waste the two companies intend to minimise waste disposal while promoting the reuse of energy and materials The plant will manage up to 60,000 tonnes of special waste a year from environmental activity and production This is in line with the EU’s directives on its Circular Economy Package The development of renewable energy is central to Eni's strategy which is evolving towards a low-carbon scenario we are making our disused and no longer productive sites available to install plants for the production of green energy that will be used for the needs of the group's industrial assets and This commitment to the redevelopment and regeneration of local areas is already a reality at our sites in Gela partly due to the synergy with Eni New Energy the group company dedicated to the development of energy from renewable sources Facts and figures on our contribution to green energy development Porto Torres plant inaugurated in early 2020 Eni Rewind's commitment to the development of renewables began in 2007 with the design and construction of a photovoltaic power plant The plant is on the top part of the former ISAF (Industria Siciliana Acido Fosforico) landfill which had previously been subjected to permanent safety works The plant consists of 22,700 photovoltaic panels with an installed capacity of 5 MW Eni New Energy installed a second photovoltaic plant in 2018 This plant is on a regenerated area of our property where the ethylene oxide and derivatives plant was one of the first sites selected by Eni as part of its commitment to the development of renewables The installation of the photovoltaic plant was completed in 2018 Photovoltaic plant at Assemini in Sardinia available to construct the largest photovoltaic park built by Eni to date The plant was inaugurated at the beginning of 2020 and 70% of its annual production will be used by the companies operating at the industrial site enabling a saving of about 26 thousand tons of carbon dioxide per year We have gained unique experience and expertise in planning and carrying out remediation work
