Though I didn’t get to shoot the fabled bullpup version of the FB MSBS 556
I did get to shoot the FB MSBS 556K at SHOT 2016 Range Day
the version of the FB MSBS 556 that I got to shoot was the conventional model
I was able to hit steel targets out to 200 yards with ease
My reloads were slightly faster then with a standard Ar-15
if I was using a Magpul B.A.D lever equipped Ar-15
I inquired about the availability for the United States market
The representative told me that “they were still about a year out”
I always liked the idea of the Magpul Masada
It is neat to see the design still in development and use
I look forward to the day when these are available in the United States

Poland-based Fabryka Broni “Lucznik” Radom (let's just call them ‘FB' from this point on) is best known for their Beryl “Archer” carbines
A couple days ago at SHOT Show Media Range Day I got my paws on something a bit different than I was expecting from this Eastern European Arms company: the MSBS
Though it's been in development for a couple years and I've seen pictures of it
today was my first opportunity to get hands on and actually shoot it
On first glance you may just write it off as yet-another-uber-5.56-carbine
But there are some features that show a more mature design
One could argue that FB makes one of the best examples of a Kalashnikov rifle
admittedly the very forward mounted old model EOtech doesn't inspire confidence
it does look quite a bit like the ACR (which can either be a positive or a negative
depending on your view of that particular carbine)
The MSBS is a piston operated 5.56 carbine that eats from STANAG magazines
The lower is polymer (previous attempts at lightweight allow lowers have been abandoned) and the upper receiver is aluminum
The charging handle does not reciprocate during operation
The bolt can be locked and released with the trigger finger rather easily
Controls are mirrored on both sides
the MSBS can be configured for either left or right side ejection
The folding stock features an integral
Both height and cheek piece angle can be adjusted
Also noteworthy that the MSBS lower receiver is compatible with AR-15 style pistol grips
One FB representative assured me that it would be the lightest recoiling 5.56 carbine on the market
the recoil impulse is certainly different than a standard AR-15
When the bolt locked back on empty I did not automatically feel it happening
but then again it took a few mags with the FN SCAR before I began to feel that difference in the recoil impulse
Will we ever see it? That's always the question it seems with these foreign uber-rifles. FB has setup a subsidiary in Texas. I'm told at some point said subsidiary will begin manufacturing American parts for the MSBS. That will be an important first step for importation for civilian sales due to 922r compliance (here's a good read on 922r for those unacquainted)
As to what you could expect to pay if it hits American shores
I'm told it would be “competitive with similar carbines”

VfL Bochum striker Moritz-Broni Kwarteng
Two people were sentenced Friday to more than a year in prison in connection with a romance scam that cost a 78-year-0ld Virginia man more than $500,000.
worked with several unnamed co-conspirators to trick elderly victims online into sending them cashier's checks
whose name was redacted in court documents
He chatted with one of the unnamed co-conspirators he believed to be a "widow from Watertown
New York in her thirties," according to court documents
The person sent him photos supposedly of herself that matched that description
The pair talked via email and Google Hangouts
The FBI viewed conversations that spanned from September 2019 to June 2020
one of the co-conspirators claimed she was "going to Germany in order to receive an inheritance of gold bars." She told the man she had been arrested and asked him for money for her release
She put him in touch with someone she claimed was a "financial advisor," documents said
The co-conspirators told the man to purchase Apple products and said they would resell them to use the money to free the woman from jail
the Virginia man sent 53 packages of Apple products
That's when she said she had been arrested again
requesting more money for bail and "for insurance to ship the gold to the United States of America from the Netherlands." The co-conspirators convinced the man to use money from his IRA
The scammers also targeted a second victim
who authorities said had been scammed by three different men
She ultimately sent them a cashier's check for $79,300 from her retirement savings
Prosecutors said Mbimadong and Broni were not directly involved in deceiving victims, but said they accepted the money and laundered it overseas, the Washington Post reported.
Broni claimed he initially believed his business dealings were legitimate
but he said he continued laundering money even after he learned it was part of an illegal scam
He estimated that he profited $30,000.
Mbimadong admitted she participated in the criminal enterprise
Ahead of Friday's sentencing hearing, Mbimadong and Broni issued written apologies in sentencing memos, the Associated Press reported.
ambitious and greedy for success," wrote Mbimadong
who estimated to the FBI that she profited $250,000 from the scams.
Both Mbimadong and Broni pleaded guilty to engaging in a monetary transaction in criminally derived property and were sentenced to prison for 37 months and 19 months
Mbimadong agreed to pay $1.3 million in restitution to the victims
Ellis said the sentences for Mbimadong and Broni would have been higher but for their cooperation with authorities in identifying others involved in the romance scam

A group of National Service personnel and stakeholders
in addition to a number of military groups that see potential in the round being used for a battlefield pick up
or allowing the ability of forces to convert their existing battle rifles to fire the enemies ammunition
this scenario is really only forceable with SF types that encounter enemy munitions
and not your line companies that would probably only be around significant enemy ammunition during a siege or similar situation
However, the more important consideration with 7.62x39mm is that the current Polish military rifle, the Beryl
if the MSBS is going to be competitive in the future
if the Polish military doesn’t want to change over to the 5.56x45mm round (which the MSBS is currently chambered in)
then this would open up the competition to the 7.62x39mm
The polymer STANAG magazine appears to come in two versions
one 30 round version with cartridge windows (at 20 and 30 round marks) and another 10 round version without cartridge windows
At this point in time the only images we have at hand seem to be graphic design images and not tangible production items
Although the article states that the magazines were produced because Fabryka Broni wanted a domestic supply of magazines
The 30 round magazine can incorporate a cartridge limiter
similar to how many CA magazines are being made
I assume that these magazines are actually being made for the U.S
Fabryka Broni could just as easily produce aluminum magazines for their own military and LE markets
so why even bother with a polymer 10 round magazine and limiter for the 30 round
Another explanation is for the parade purpose of the magazine
Recent pictures have showed some Polish military units parading with 10 round magazines inserted
probably loaded with blanks or not loaded at all

Polish gun manufacturer Fabryka Broni recently announced the full line up for the MSBS “Radon” modular dual conventional/bullpup layout rifle
The MSBS is an improved relative of the Remington ACR/Magpul Masada
released a video recently of the MSBS in action
with a guest appearance by the 1930s Radom wz
Janes reports on the new MSBS line up:
Polish small arms manufacturer Fabryka Broni unveiled its entire Modular Small Arms System calibre 5.56 mm (MSBS-5.56) assault rifle family
currently on order for the Polish Armed Forces
for the first time at the MSPO defence exhibition in Kielce
the MSBS-5.56 is small arms system chambered in 5.56×45 mm with a unique feature: a common upper receiver for both classic and bullpup configurations
The MSBS-5.56 upper receiver is a base to which other modules are attached: a barrel
and a lower receiver with a classic folding and telescopic stock or in bullpup configuration
The MSBS system has been under development since 2007 by Fabryka Broni in co-operation with the Military University of Technology in Warsaw
The family of MSBS-5.56 small arms has 11 rifle variants
The classic (MSBS-5.56K) and bullpup (MSBS-5.56B) designs each have five variants: an 11-inch barrel carbine
a standard assault rifle with GL underbarrel grenade launcher
a 16-inch precise barrel designated marksman
and a 16-inch heavy barrel light support rifle
The classic version also comes in a parade rifle variant designed for the Polish Honour Guard Battalion (Batalion Reprezentacyjny)
equipped with a 18-inch barrel designed for blank cartridges and a strengthened fixed buttstock with a steel stock
the current Polish standard issue weapon is the 5.56mm AK-derived Beryl
“We are in the middle of the armed forces trials of the MSBS-5.56 standard assault rifle
the system passed all qualification tests and is ready for serial production
This year 100 MSBS-5.56 rifles of low-rate initial production will be manufactured.”
Poland ordered 14,000 MSBS rifles in May 2014 for its Tytan (Titan) Advanced Individual Battle System (AIBS) programme
IHS Jane’s understands that the first phase will include the delivery of the standard 16-inch barrel versions both with and without underbarrel grenade launchers
The second phase will involve the delivery of the specialised MSBS-5.56 variants (carbine
Polish military news outlet Altair.com has also covered the new rifle lineup; a machine translation of their article is below:
At the International Defence Industry Weapon Factory on the stand for the first time
you can see the entire family system rifles MSBS-5.56

resulting in the project MSBS-5.56 / Rawat
To this number includes six classic MSBS-5,56K (two subkarabinki
sniper rifles and carbines machine) and ten bezkolbowych MSBS-5,56B (two subkarabinki
along with the previously developed within the project MSBS basic rifle and rifle-grenade launcher
to present the entire modular family of weapons
All structures are to be supplied with a mounting rail mounted on folding mechanical devices celowniczymi (midges basis and foundation of the viewfinder).Yet still the standard basic rifle sighting will be collimator CK-1T
Subkarabinek has a barrel length of 256 mm
while its length can be changed even after the tests weapons
open the outlet device better damping flame outlet
In the embodiment bezkolbowej barrel is entirely hidden in the bed
and ultimately is to appear on it moderator
or special output unit of larger dimensions
The aim is to reduce signature weapons at the shooting
as well as the resulting roar in the conduct of fire with such a short barrel
the addition of the outlet located closer to the ear shooter
Basic carbine with a 406-mm barrel and its variant rifle-grenade launcher (with underslung grenade launcher ammunition jednostrzałowym GP 40 mm x 46SR) were developed before the project MSBS
the model of the structure under the Polish soldier of the future Titan
the gun has to go the prototype test after the possible changes
Another element of the family is 5.56 MSBS-machine gun with 406-mm barrel with a heavier profile
It is to be powered with a larger capacity magazines
It is a construction designed to provide support at the level of the team and adapted a more intense fire serial and continuous than basic rifle
Hence the lack hook knife-bayonet and open
slotted outlet device better damping flame outlet during intense shooting
The system complements the sniper rifle with a 406-mm precision barrel
whose installation was made more thoroughly
Thanks to this weapon has to be more accurate
The barrel of this construction is completed is a device adapted to rapidly exhaust silencer attachment
Carbine sniper is to be a target sets with another device drain
with more precise trigger dwuoporowym (optionally or in their own Archer or commercial interchangeable with AR-15) and the optical viewfinder (probably without magnification production PCO LDK-4 4×32)
Family supplements carbine representative in the classical system
which is a special type of primary weapon with a long
508-mm barrel with a reduced diameter adapted to fire only blank ammunition 5.56 mm x 45
at any moment can be replace any length barrel to live ammunition
For arms to be delivered knife-bayonet with chrome
Variety representative is equipped with an extended and reinforced steel flask with okutym sectional pad
to gain an appropriate sound effect when hitting the ground
it has a soft masking founded on the dorsal mounting rail and the dummy mechanical iron sights
The whole is designed to Battalion Representative who is seeking a new weapon to replace the previously used 7.62 mm carbine Simonov (SKS)
Fabryka Broni announced during SHOT Show that the MSBS is slated to come to the US market sometime in the next couple of years. If and when it does
it may be a rare moment of shared enthusiasm on the part of both die-hard conventional and bullpup fans

During the first day of the XXXI International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO
Fabryka Broni Łucznik-Radom (FB Radom) presented for the first time a new striker-fired pistol
The presentation took place during the opening conference on the first day of the MSPO trade fair
The weapon was first showcased to the assembled audience by the Chairman of the Board of Fabryka Broni
striker-fired pistol for 9mm x 19 Parabellum ammunition is intended to be a modern
aiming to compete in the market with its quality
a Member of the Board present the new pistol for the first time
As Wojciech Arndt said in his speech: We intend to offer the gun both to uniformed services to whom we already supply our products
The Modular Semi-automatic Pistol (MPS) is a personal firearm designed for short-range shooting
operates on the principle of short recoil of the barrel
with the bolt locked by tilting the barrel in the vertical plane
It is a hammerless semi-automatic pistol with double action only (DAO) trigger mechanism
Pulling the trigger cocks and releases the striker mechanism
The MPS is equipped with both standard iron sights and a cutout for mounting red dot sights
The pistol can be used by both right-handed and left-handed shooters
The 15-round magazine release button is factory-mounted on the left side of the grip
It is possible to transfer the magazine release to the other side
The shape of the trigger guard allows for shooting with both hands
and the space between the trigger guard and the trigger allows for the use of protective gloves
The takedown lever is mounted on the left side of the pistol
officers of law enforcement agencies and civilian users
The front sight and rear sight are factory-adjusted for shooting at a distance of 25 meters
similar to the VIS100 M1 pistol
the MPS has a milled slide allowing for the installation of a micro red dot sight
The manufacturer offers adapters for mounting Delta Point
Top view of the slide with the red dot sight mounted / Photos: Jakub Link-Lenczowski
the weapon grip is equipped with a Picatinny rail according to MILStd1913 (under the barrel)
designed for mounting a laser sight or flashlight
the pistol is characterized by its low weight
It features a trigger safety lock to prevent accidental and premature firing
as well as an automatic safety (firing pin) located in the slide
which is only disengaged after pulling the trigger
ensuring the pistol is safe when carried with a chambered round
The basic components of the pistol include: the slide assembly
a 4″ (102 mm) barrel; recoil mechanism
complete grip (with frame and interchangeable inserts)
allowing the use of longer 40mm grenades to be chambered
Sights are on a picatinny mounted rotating quadrant rail on the left side
Theoretically this should allow the same sights to be mounted on the right side for left handed users
but I couldn’t find anything that confirms this
The entire package appears to be a very compact design
is probably one of the shorter of all the current issue 40x46mm grenade launchers on the international market
How much is 40mm affected by barrel length
Does an extra inch add much velocity and is there any appreciable impact to the user in ease of shooting
but you're still arcing a grenade on target at all but the shortest of ranges
Even if you doubled the length of say the M203's barrel
it won't magically turn a rainbow-shooter into a flat fastball
@Tom-UK You can find pictures of a sawn-off M79 'pistol' online which was developed for special forces in Vietnam
they reported no major issues in terms of range/accuracy
perhaps they should finally release the rifle itself prior to grenade launcher
Weapon Factory started work on prototypes of 7.62-mm rifle MSBS-7.62
Weapons will be shown publicly for the first time in the fall
at the International Defence Industry Exhibition
The designers of the Weapons Factory in an interview with REPORT-wto confirmed that the 7.62-mm rifle will be kept the same arrangement of manipulators – tensioning handle
release lever from the rear breech position – as models caliber 5
All this so that you can in the same way to handle a gun without changing habits
The new rifle MSBS-7.62 uprising so far only in a variation of the classic
The weapon will be developed in two versions: samoczynno-samopowtarzalna (automatic) and samopowtarzalna elections
As learned REPORT-wto both models to be shown in public for the first time as early as this year
the Prime Minister will be in the first weeks of September at the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce
equipped with precise trigger mechanism and a permanent flask with adjustable foot and cheek pad and the components are assembled with a telescopic sight
It’s a sound bet that Fabryka Broni may also be eyeing the US civilian market with the MSBS-7.62. FB representatives showed great enthusiasm in bringing the 5.56mm MSBS to America at SHOT Show 2015, including plans to build rifle receivers in Texas
MSBS have nothing common with ACR !!!Please stop this disinformation
"What do you know exactly about Magpul/Remington ACR history and history of MSBS
When Magpul Masada prototype was unveiled in 2007
Magpul still was according to the internet data a garage company with 5 employees
with few years of activity with plastic parts
WAT (Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna - Technician Military Academy) had 56 years and Fabryka Broni Radom had 82 years
I dont know who originally projected Masada for Magpul
garage company (maybe some talented gunsmith from the other side of street) never mind
Masada was only sum of various previously known technical solutions with nice plastic outer form
This thing never - also as Remington ACR - evolved into military standard rifle
First prototypes outer shape were ugly and anything similar to ACR
According to your ignorant and weird logic
that whole MSBS system is build around common upper receiver for classic and bull-pup versions both
Guys from Magpul and Remington never ever dreamed about such thing
Magpul/Remington ACR is not yet finished product for civilian US poodle shooters
MSBS is military product according to the Polish army tests regulations
MSBS have 6 international patents for internal mechanisms and 22 EU industrial patents."
@Wosiu Your information is incorrect.Justin
@Wosiu Which is why it works just like an Masada
is made in exactly the same way as an Masada
and when I talked to the people from Fabryka Broni they said it was based on the Masada
but MSBS was developed by:- internals - WAT team leaded by col
Ryszard Wozniak and col dr ing Miroslaw Zahor,- externals/ergonomics - independent team leaded by Adam Gawron
Please let us know names of these "people from Fabryka Broni"
Maybe this was only misunderstanding due to their very poor English
very well informed author and chief editor of "Bron i Amunicja" (Guns and Ammo) monthly
http://remigiuszwilk.pl/_zd...
http://remigiuszwilk.pl/_zd...
http://remigiuszwilk.pl/_zd...
"I am afraid you are looking the connections in both design while there is virtualy none
Once again you are focusing only on the external similiarity
And MSBS-5,56 is as similar to the ACR as is to FN SCAR
all of them are distant or very distant relatives of the AR-18
That's why I attached pictures of both weapons - Bushmaster ACR and MSBS-5,56 (late prototypes)
to clearly show you that both designs are completly different internally
The only similiarity is a location of magazine catch and bolt catch
The Polish bolt and bolt carrier is quite unique design patent protected
the whole MSBS-5,56 design (shape) is also protected by international law
There would be no any legal actions because there is no reason for it
The MSBS-5,56 as a systems from beginning was developed as modular classic and bullpup based on common upper receiver with reversible case ejection
while Magpul simply wanted to create just a polymer upper and lower receiver M16
Magpul failed and their project evolved into Masada
Then they sold the design to Remington/Bushmaster
renamed it ACR and hard trying to make it work
The ACR is simply a classic design assault rifle
while the MSBS-5,56 is designed as a system from early begining
There is no similar system in the world which utilize the upper receiver as a common platform for classic and bullpup design (in existence
one of SPIW mockups was designed that way)
That's why any inspirations you try to find are in my opinion non existed
And you are looking for them very hard ;-)"
@Nathaniel F. You need to go read on the development history of the MSBS. Go ask Remov, from Altai.com.pl and he'll enlighten you
If you look at the early prototypes of the platform
you could see that nobody cared about looks back then
They first wanted to get the mechanical platform
made to function perfectly from the engineering point of view
that can be configured as carbine or bullpup
with it's common receiver function perfectly
did they start working on the external look
There were a few years when they had "engineering" and "esthetical" prototypes
but the MSBS is a heck of a lot more interesting platform
Please tell me there's a prancing MLP on the magwell
As an update to Miles V’s post from last September
Polish arms manufacturer Fabryka Broni has recently debuted their previously announced polymer magazines for the MSBS rifle
Originally reported on the MilMag Facebook page
the new mags appear to come in both black and semi transparent versions and have the ability to run in other AR-patterned rifles
New Polish 30 round magazines from Fabryka Broni
The magazines are designed for MSBS-5,56 assault rifle system

Emojis are sprinkled through 92% of the world’s 3.2bn internet users’ virtual messages. Jonathan deBurca Butler meets the Irish man who’s helping us make sense of them all
unveiled the alphabet’s first 200 characters back in 1999
Today there are no fewer than 6,666 separate characters officially recognised by UNICODE — the emoji world governing body — (who knew?)
“Emoji are all over the globe,” says Keith Broni of Today Translations
“Facebook released some data recently which showed that on its Messenger platform alone
So if you take that and you add What’s App
you’re talking at least tens of billions of emoji being sent in interpersonal contexts each and every day.”
businesses are looking at ways to tap into that conversation and that’s exactly where Keith’s skills come into play
he is at pains to point out that he does not sit down and transcribe reams of emoji chats and it is unlikely he will be working as an interpreter for the United Nations any time soon
His role is somewhat more nuanced than that
“It’s a project based consultancy position,” says Keith
“A lot of what we’ll do is look at some slogans and look at what emojis would work best around those slogans in different contexts
these are really important because if you look at the data
we have the Twitter API so we can pull down tens of thousands of tweets and run an analysis on particular emoji icons and see what are the words most closely associated with a certain icon and the ways people are using the icon
We look at what the best emojis are out there to compliment the text we are given or maybe add more to the message that’s not necessarily in the text itself
And we want to do it without overdoing it and making it look too contrived
So I advise on the best icons to augment text or replace it if necessary
based around the audience and I provide training to staff too so they can avoid pitfalls.”
the heart icon is much more popular as an expression than any facial emojis
He also points to research that recently discovered only 7% of the peach emoji was used to reference an actual peach
in the other 93% it referenced the posterior
The humble aubergine has suffered a similar if more upright fate
a uncomplimentary reference to an entrance in the posterior
The same place in fact that a raised thumb would go in the middle east should you be thinking of giving any of your Arab friends the thumbs up anytime soon
“Meaning is use with these icons,” says Keith
And it’s my responsibility to know this so companies avoid embarrassment
Any business has their social media now and of course
they want to engage with their audience more and use emoji but they don’t want to be known as the one who hit an emoji faux pas.” As well as avoiding thumbs and vegetables making it into places they are not wanted
Because it is based around the writing of code points
the emoji alphabet is in fact strictly regulated by the aforementioned Unicode and new emojis
though created every day and usable on some devices are not legible on all devices until they have been registered and signed off on
Even then some mobile phones just don’t get the rendering correct and it can have unwanted results
“It was International Cookie Day recently,” says Keith
“and the Cookie Monster sent out a tweet with lots of cookie emojis
The problem was that on the Samsung devices it looks like two salted crackers and it looked bizarre but in this instance
the blame has been leveled at Samsung’s particularly interesting rendering of the emoji icons
So that’s another area you can have problems.”
But used effectively the emoji can help add nuance to a message
With emojis we can send a text saying “I hate you”
and expect to hear back from our sensitive friend within minutes rather than an awkwardly long two weeks of anxious jumper wringing
“The exclamation mark and question mark are hardly enough to convey the breadth of emotional context that we have at our disposal in face-to-face conversation,” says Keith
emojis have their place however and thus far are generally used only in certain registers
“People tend to use emojis when they are pleased or happy
There is a sense of joyousness around them and people use them to create a sense of excitement in their messaging
they are so popular now that people not using them is a sign of solemnity almost
So if they hear about the death of a celebrity it is more likely you’ll see the heartbreak emoji or the crying face emoji
whereas if someone tells you some personal heartbreaking news they are unlikely to use an icon at all.”
Australian artist Lucy Barker clearly did not got that particular memo
she decided to sculpt a tombstone with a smiling ‘Sign Off’ emoji motif
A sign — or an emoji — of things to come perhaps

The entrepreneur and Shoobs.com founder shows you don't have to compromise on your culture to achieve success
IT’S BEEN eight years since Louise Broni-Mensah launched Shoobs
it was the only black entertainment event ticketing site in the UK
Almost a decade later it remains in a lane of its own – as does its founder
it may not have appeared that Broni-Mensah
the eldest of four children born to Ghanaian parents both working in finance
was always destined to be the CEO and founder of an entertainment company
but upon meeting her and discovering how perseverance has steered her journey
An experience relatable to many black British African children
Broni-Mensah’s parents wanted her to pursue an academic subject at university
not her passion of music and entertainment
and growing up my parents very much instilled in me how important education was
she wasn’t against doing a degree her parents would be happy with but her ambitious spirit meant she found a way to devote time to music and events throughout her studies
“I studied mathematical economics at the university of Birmingham
but while I was there I was always involved in music and events and so I actually worked for the radio station Burn FM
I was a breakfast DJ and a drive-time DJ and then I also started working for Sony music.”
inspired by the careers of P Diddy and the like
saw her promote artists and events on campus
But she left this behind once she graduated
Her mum was a trader and following in her footsteps
Broni-Mensah set out to pursue her passion
While managing a hip hop artist she became acutely aware of the poor promotion of black music events and the lack of a one-stop place to discover them
Tired of managing guestlists and receiving flyers on WhatsApp
“I recognised there wasn’t this one-stop destination for people to one
also to buy tickets for them and so that was really the kind of catalyst or I guess what they call the ‘lightbulb’ moment.”
but it took a while for Broni-Mensah to be completely convinced of the viability of the company
“I kind of saw it being a problem in our community but to be honest I didn’t know if it could be a fully-fledged business.”
It soon became apparent that it wasn’t just Broni-Mensah and her friends who were desperate for a site like Shoobs
the company started making money on its first day – a rare feat – and soon the number of users rocketed
The significant organic growth convinced the then investment banker to leave her finance job to manage Shoobs full-time
She toyed with names for the site before deciding on Shoobs – a slang term for party
A move partly motivated by a desire to boldly state that this was a site that celebrated black culture and her commitment to authenticity
‘This is about urban events,’ and the whole reason that I wanted to start the website is because I was frustrated that this culture
which for me represented the culture of London – the culture of the environment – felt like it was always hidden
black culture events and I want this to be at the forefront and I want there to be a place that is professional

Total respects to her & what she has done
for way to long our needs for a viable source wasn’t there & her brainwave = what we have now

campaigning for positive change and informing the black community on important issues

ENTWURF: Design & Build
On the 25 January, Polish media outlet, Onet.pl, published an article about the MSBS GROT, the new service rifle recently introduced by the Polish Armed Forces
The MSBS Grot is produced by Fabryka Broni “Łucznik” in Radom
The article reported on a series of trials conducted by a team of experts led by Pawel Moszner
a former Polish SOF officer and ex-member of the Polish GROM unit
Moszner decided to test the rifle as it had apparently earned an unpopular reputation among Polish SOF operators
parts such as the polymer stock and lower receiver tended to break
the rifle suffered from numerous malfunctions and the gas regulator in front of the Grot simply fell out
the gun itself suffers from a lack of any anti-corrosive protection
The idea was that Fabryka Broni would deliver the gun to people who had no previous experience with firearms in order to gather information on the issues from inexperienced users to inform improvements to the next version of the rifle
Three variants of the rifle Grot C-16 marked M1
One of the key problems mentioned in online discussions on social media and forums is a tendency for part corrosion to become an issue and for the gas regulator to become loose and on occasion fall off the weapon
It has been reported that any damage to service weapons has to be paid for by the soldiers the rifles are issued to
The fragility of the rifle and the damage which has been seen in photos is unlikely to have been caused by mistreatment by soldiers
It appears that the rifle’s manufacture was flawed resulting in parts malfunction and failure when used during drills and training
The issue seems to be one of improper quality control
which is the opinion of a variety of soldiers and shooters who have commented on the issues
the Grot passed all the exams and overall qualification tests for general issue to the armed forces
The WOT made a robust response to Onet in a lengthy statement and on their Twitter feed
with a multi-tweet thread refuting the data published and points made in the article
On the other hand, Fabryka Broni have decided to take matters into their own hands and have promised to modernize the M1/A1 variants of the Grot already delivered to the improved M2/A2 variant and address all the issues that were the subject of complaints
Units that obtained the M1/A1 variant of the rifle are now obligated to return the rifle to the producer in order for them to be upgraded with new parts
The issues of Grot became a political subject that was easily picked up by the national media
Within a week dozens of key media outlets produced analysis over analysis
Generals and experts were invited for endless talks and interviews
The MSBS scandal has now become almost as important as the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and the introduction of new legislation
while the national manufacturers are often unable to provide Polish Armed Forces with much needed modern equipment
The scope over the Grot rifle affair gives an impression of the grim state of affairs but is the situation as dire as has been suggested in some media reports
We spoke with an independent source about the revelations around the MSBS
magazine shared his thoughts on the MSBS:
most of the issues that the MSBS platform is facing are a matter of quality of control
not the deficiencies of the gun design itself
were clearly biased – virtually no carbine currently in military service is expected to handle thirty magazines of continuous burst fire
Considering that Grot’s barrel has relatively light profile the test
proved that Grot handles intensive firing schedule very well
It is no worse than AR-15s and AKs with similar barrel profiles.”
“The so called “sand test” was also questionable as the carbines such as AK and AR seemed to be dry when subjected to the sand… Yet
when [the] Grot was subjected to the sand test
the dust mysteriously stuck on the gun surface
that can indicate the lubrication of the assault rifle before the test – something that could explain the result… Thus
the “test” was not conducted in an objective manner (at best) and staged (at worst).”
“The one issue that Moszner is partially right about is the gun weight
Grot is clearly heavier than other competing 5.56 carbines
Even the ones designed to be a modular platform
Grot weighs 3650g with the magazine detached
SCAR-16 (3500g) and CZ Bren 2 (3130g) Grot loses in terms of weight
I can tell that Grot handles well despite the weight and its ergonomics are well-designed
This opinion is shared by many professional shooters.”
The affair over the publication Onet’s article was an overreaction by the media to some extent
Fabryka Broni’s response to the accusations in the article is interesting
The drama that occurred after months of inaction from “Łucznik” could be easily evaded by the manufacturer if the issues with quality control had been addressed
The rifle itself is believed to be a solid and reliable platform
that provides a much needed upgrade from the AK-pattern rifles currently in service with the Polish Armed Forces but it will be interesting to see if issues persist following this debacle and how the planned upgrades to the Grot will improve the weapon
