She was born at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine on April 27, 1946, daughter of the late Issac Hamilton... View Obituary & Service Information The family of Rosemary Simpson Buia created this Life Tributes page to make it easy to share your memories Made with love by funeralOne compliance is not a luxury or an option — it’s essential One must be extremely vigilant about the documentation provided,” he emphasised at the beginning of his talk He also warned about the risks of poorly managed purchasing processes “Be careful with the procurement process to avoid sourcing from non-compliant countries or buying non-compliant products It’s important to take the time to ask clients questions about the end use of the product — we could be held responsible if the product is intended for military applications.” Traceability and Communication: A Proactive Stance In a context where supply chains are increasingly complex Alexandre Buia stressed the importance of transparent and ongoing communication “Communication and team training are critical,” he noted He also raised concerns about the handling of sensitive information: “To whom are our technical data being sent should be central to any strategy aiming for PCB compliance The next Evertiq Expo in Sophia Antipolis (Alpes-Maritimes) is scheduled to take place on March 6, 2026 — a must-attend event to meet the industry’s key players Alexandre Buia advocates for building a genuine culture of compliance deeply embedded in companies’ day-to-day operations: risk assessment and active involvement of all relevant departments His message is clear: ensuring compliance means not only protecting yourself legally but I think about it every day,' says Natalia Buia at her home in Toronto.Alex Franklin/The Globe and Mail Natalia Buia was a Toronto-based journalist disillusioned with a shrinking media industry when she started her boutique public relations agency “No one thinks of ‘stable’ when they think of being an entrepreneur,” she says with a laugh While searching for a hobby to take her mind off the stress of starting her own business Buia gravitated to watercolour painting and instantly fell in love Her home office feels like a snapshot straight out of Pinterest – brightly coloured paintings are mounted on the walls above her desk In this series, Reimagining Wealth we explore the evolving definition of wealth in today’s world Buia about her self-employment journey and her creative outlet through paint Tell me a little bit about your career leading up to starting your own company I studied journalism at Humber College in Toronto and I worked at a lot of great companies in the Canadian media landscape but it’s a lot different than it was a couple of years ago I was frustrated with how the industry was evolving for the worse and I figured PR is a great transition from journalism I’m better suited to do it on my own rather than have a boss I don’t get along with What has your experience been like running your business I announced Gold Candor publicly in October 2023 A lot of my clients came from word of mouth I spent a lot of time learning about entrepreneurship like doing my taxes and how to invoice people This was around [the time] I had an amicable divorce and I took some of those financial gains to put towards my business Buia's watercolour paintings.Alex Franklin/The Globe and Mail I was fortunate with how the timing worked out because you need some sort of financial cushion I’m not embarrassed to admit I’m going through a slow period right now when I’m not making as much income You mentioned that watercolour painting helps when you feel low or anxious I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and see if I like it I came across an artist named Julia Dault who created her own art space called Hot Pizza Studio located in the Junction neighbourhood in Toronto I went for a watercolour painting class she put on late last year and had a lot of fun because I’m always looking for new hobbies I work from home and I feel like I need to do something other than work on my computer or sit on my couch and watch TV I began following a bunch of TikTokers and people on Instagram who do watercolour painting I made it a goal going into 2025 that this is going to be my ‘thing.’ I find that painting with watercolours is very soothing for me and it calms me down I don’t really think about anything; I don’t think about money or work stress I was in a pretty dark place last year and I was chatting with my girlfriends It’s nice to have a support system of your closest friends who motivate and encourage you 'I find that painting with watercolours is very soothing for me,' says Ms But while I am spending money on this newfound hobby it’s helping me save a bit of money too because I’m not going out I think if I were just painting in dark colours or black and white What I really like about watercolour is that it’s so easy to mix different colours together and you could come up with a hundred different shades of red or blue I make these little greeting cards – I have to work on my calligraphy I really do think it’s doing wonders for my mental health Report an editorial error Report a technical issue Editorial code of conduct Authors and topics you follow will be added to your personal news feed in Following This composite image shows Prime Minister Mark Carney Welcome to The Globe and Mail’s comment community. as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Natalia Buia From childhood, I recall not wanting to have children or a maternal instinct to take care of children Growing up as an only child could have contributed to this Although my parents loved me and we had a good relationship we weren't the kind of family you'd see in movies I suppose it showed me that family isn't a one-size-fits-all I didn't need to have the "traditional" family set up to be happy I also learned to enjoy my own company as a child I'm perfectly content being alone for a lot of the time and didn't feel I needed children to complete me Their days became birthday parties and sports games I started to realize my friendships just weren't going to look the same as they always had Dating in my 20s was so much fun I found that the men I dated weren't desperate to have kids yet if I was considering dating someone exclusively I usually got out of the way as soon as possible It wouldn't be fair on either of us to continue if we wanted different things men weren't sure about kids anyway so dating was pretty straightforward and easy I hit the age that men were looking to have children I feel like men in their 30s are looking to settle down with a family Or they already have kids from previous relationships it can feel discouraging when I consider how few options I have there isn't the same pressure to quickly find someone because I don't have this "body clock" deadline running I also started using dating apps regularly I'm on several apps but like Hinge the most but I have to be careful about who I start to talk to because lots of them do want children or are open to having children in the future I make sure that when I'm looking at guys' profiles I don't just swipe right if they look good I spend time reading their profile to find out what they think about having children A lot of the men who swipe right on me clearly don't do this I also wish the apps didn't suggest profiles of men who want kids It wastes my time having to filter out who does and doesn't want kids I matched with someone who I thought was really cute and started talking to him and I was really excited about the prospect I brought up the dealbreaker question and he said he did want kids Certain apps allow you to pay extra if you want to filter out profiles that wouldn't match with yours even though I find them irritating as a childfree woman but I'm content and not taking dating seriously right now There are moments I feel I'd love to have a romantic partner to live life with Welcome to our dedicated Login Shukri Buja did not answer any of the questions during his testimony in the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo (DhSK) in The Hague on Monday on the grounds that he is incriminated He even said that he stands by what he had declared when he was asked that he accepts the guarantees under Rule 151 (3) that provides for the non-incrimination of the witness in what he says "I want to stand by what I stated in the statement," said Buja the chief judge informed Buja that he can file a request for the suspension of the investigations adding that today he is obliged to testify "You are invited to give evidence and you are obliged to give evidence you are obliged to tell the truth and if you think you can incriminate yourself then you have the lawyer nearby and he can guide and help with legal advice as if it happened today" He said that if he considers it self-incriminating Buja has the legal right not to answer any question until the court compels him to answer based on rule 151 (2) and gives you guarantees under rule 151 (3) Pace asked the witness if he had any nicknames "I cannot answer because it incriminates me" The prosecutor again asked the witness if he was known by the nickname "Journalist" since he was allowed by the chief judge to continue with such questions "I cannot confirm it because it incriminates me" The prosecutor asked him if he was known by the name "Sokoli" at any point in time He said that he cannot answer that he is incriminated even when he was asked what the LPK was The witness said that he could not answer even when he was asked if he was ever a member of the LPK the chief judge intervened saying that if he does not answer the questions as instructed by the panel I remind you once again that after the solemn statement that you read just before you are obliged to tell the truth according to the Regulations and the Law that there is no need to answer a question that is self-incrimination unless you are compelled to answer on bail under rule 151(3) provided You had the opportunity to discuss this with your lawyer You must be clear that if the court orders you to answer a question you must comply with this obligation If you don't answer the questions after the jury has instructed you to answer Buja's lawyer said that in the correspondence they have with the ZPS they have once again reminded them of the request for the end of the investigation due to the duration of the investigation and that although he is a witness "The guarantees that are in accordance with Rule 151 are not enough there are other guarantees provided by the law that were mentioned when it comes to his quality as a suspect and I think that he has the right to remain silent and not answer if does not want to answer I am clear that this is his decision and at any moment he can change his decision" Pace further showed why the testimony of this witness is important for this court process "The witness was the commander of the area and sub-area and as such is able to give direct testimony about the connections the KLA Headquarters including the accused," said Pace the chief judge told the Prosecutor that they will continue in a Today, the classic pad thai rubs shoulders with Vietnamese egg rolls and pancakes, pho and tteokbokki you can opt for a lunchtime menu at around €14.50 with vegetable nems accompanied by fried noodles or a vegetarian phô followed by a fruit cup Menu B offers a nem with green curry vegetable soup and plain rice are a real favorite (and yet we're a meat-eater) all spiced up with a Korean gochujang Vietnamese classic arrives in a large bowl of rice vermicelli Fans of Korean cuisine will appreciate the Tteok-Bokki rice cakes sautéed in an intense red sauce Drinks are also made to travel: plum soda or hibiscus juice fresh mango and glutinous rice with coconut milk not forgetting the unmissable 3-color dessert and one you'll want to return to again and again The restaurant is open for lunch While that's one interpretation, the name actually has a special meaning in the context of Buja Gin. Buja also translates to “father and son”, reflecting the heartwarming partnership between PY and his son. Botanicals are what give gin its flavour and identity, and luckily for Tom, his idea would then be backed by his father’s retirement career: An organic botanical farm in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do. PY has been working on this organic farm for the last 30 years, which was originally started for South Korean cosmetic companies. The farm currently grows about 65 different botanicals. “Working together has certainly deepened our bond. It has been a unique journey blending family life with business,” shared PY. “We each have different inputs and roles in the business – I am mainly responsible for producing fresh organic botanicals, while Tom looks after the distillation process. This division of labour has taught us to communicate more effectively and respect each other’s strengths and perspectives, leading to a more harmonious and productive partnership.” Tom agreed: “There’s great synergy between the both of us. When I tell my dad that I want to create a certain flavour profile, he’ll just write it on a piece of paper and ask me to try the botanicals he has listed down to start off with and see what the flavour is. This is how we work and how we operate.” With the father and son duo working so closely, Tom lets us in on a little backstory behind one of the more popular offerings they have: Batch #11, Jansori, which directly translates to nagging. “My mom was jealous that we were spending so much time together that she started nagging a lot more. While the gin was created to express the comforting feeling a mom gives, the dash of Korean chilli at the end symbolises the occasional times she gets angry as well.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by BUJA GIN ★ 양평 부자진 🇰🇷 (@bujagin) with the rest of the gins being seasonal offerings This means that the seasonal gins are produced only once a year customers must wait until the next year to enjoy it again they can ensure that the gins are always fresh but the duo trusts that it allows them to offer something truly special to their customers Tom explained: “I believe that there is no one gin that suits everyone's taste That's why I'm passionate about offering our customers a journey to find the right gin for them we can offer a diverse range of flavour profiles “Since working on the gin company with my son our biggest learning experience has been navigating the delicate balance between tradition and innovation We realised that to stand out in the crowded market we needed more than just another gin from Korea; we needed to offer a truly unique experience This journey has taught us the importance of honouring traditional methods while also embracing innovation to push the boundaries of gin-making,” added PY The vision for Korea’s first hand-crafted gin has certainly paid off Buja Gin's unique flavour profile and exceptional quality have garnered rave reviews from both domestic and international critics and consumers Apart from the recognition at the 2021 Korea Liquor Awards other accolades under their belt now include a gold at the 2021 UK Gin Masters a bronze at the 2021 UK International Wine and Spirits Competition a gold at the 2022 China Wine and Spirits Awards This well-deserved success not only puts Buja Gin in the spotlight but also paves the way for other South Korean spirits to gain global recognition the proudest moment was launching the first handcrafted gin in Korea and receiving our first international gold medal at the Gin Masters Awards It was a testament to our hard work and the quality of our product it was the launch of our first seasonal gin Seeing the positive feedback from customers and realizing that our combined efforts had created something special was incredibly fulfilling for both of us winning the gold medal at the World Gin Awards at the beginning of this year was another proud moment that we both cherish,” shared PY both senior and junior Cho aren’t resting on their laurels including doing more research to potentially create something for the sober-curious crowd in the future.” exclaimed Tom Buja Gin is more than just a spirit;
