Back to the historic and traditional appointment of the Palio del Casale, a legendary event that will also take place this year in a row at Cicciano, locality located in the province of Naples. The race is scheduled for the weekend of 20 and 21 May 2023. Il Palio del Casale it originates from May 1768, when the citizens of Camposano gathered to celebrate the liberation from tyranny and the independence conquered the previous year by the city of Nola. The festivities were so grandiose and prolonged that young people from nearby hamlets arrived in the city on the backs of donkeys. Many of them were fascinated by Giuseppina, one of the local beauties, sparking a competition for her attention.
