The first series of the 2025 A1 softball season ends in a tie
Inox Team and Bertazzoni Collecchio split the stakes with one win each
and De Luca is decisive in attack in ensuring the success of the Lombard team
The fresh MVP of the Mexican League Final hits the winning home run in the seventh inning
ending a great pitching duel between starters Held (Saronno) and Lopez (Collecchio)
The first day of the Serie A1 Softball continues on Sunday
with the Itas Mutua Rovigo-Bollate and Thunders Castellana-Blue Girls Bologna series
The Macerata-Caronno and Italposa Forlì-Old Parma matches scheduled for Saturday
which will be rescheduled for May 1 and April 8
THE PROGRAM OF THE FIRST DAY
The first match of the 2025 Serie A1 softball season is between Inox Team Saronno
On a sunny afternoon during a weekend characterized by rain
the Lombard team relied on the offensive quartet of Alessandra Rotondo
Sara Cianfriglia and Sara De Luca to get the better of the Emilian squad
who were good at staying in the game until the last pitch
despite the 5 runs conceded between the third and fifth innings
After the initial back-and-forth - Collecchio's double advantage on Christina Toniolo and the home team's prompt response on Silvia Aroldi - Saronno breaks the deadlock and takes a 4-2 lead thanks to a two-run double by De Luca
who was good at pushing home Rotondo (single) and Cianfriglia (base on balls)
successive home runs by Bartoli for two points and the only homer by Cianfriglia on the opposing reliever Alessia Melegari bring the Inox Team to 7-2
good at staying mentally in the game despite the deficit
taking advantage of several opponent errors
and thus reduced the deficit to the final 7-5
THE SCORESHEET OF GAME TWO
the main players were Hannah Held and Lindsay Lopez
respectively from Inox Team and Bertazzoni
allowed a point at the beginning of the game to the two attacks
but are then good at recovering and giving life to an exciting pitching duel
characterized by 33 total strike outs (20 to 13 the count in favor of the Saronno pitcher)
The decisive moment comes in the top of the seventh inning
Elena Chiesa took the strike out but reached first on a wild pitch while Elena Slawtiz got the base on balls
fresh MVP of the Mexican Softball League Final
Bertazzoni took advantage of the favorable moment by scoring the fifth and final point of the game: it ended 5-1 for the Emilian team

THE SERIE A1 SOFTBALL SCHEDULE
ALL ABOUT THE 2025 A1 SOFTBALL SERIES
A number of cities and organizations have staged relatively quiet firework displays
These firework shows are not entirely silent
and they typically don't include the large aerial explosions found in traditional shows nor make use of some new form of 'quiet' decorative explosives
One town in Italy is taking a big step to reduce the fear of fireworks in their non-human population
The local government of Collecchio made a law that fireworks in their town must be silent
It's a way of reducing the stress that the loud noises cause to animals–not just pets
There's a company called Setti Fireworks that makes these silent explosives and can customize them for each event
Many readers seemed to come away with the impression that these "silent fireworks" would appear just as big and bright as traditional fireworks
but without the loud explosive booms normally associated with them
however: No matter how advanced pyrotechnicians may be at developing fireworks
they haven't quite yet figured out a way to remove noise from these large explosions
these "silent firework" displays (which are probably better described as "reduced noise" displays) don't typically include the big aerial explosions found in traditional fireworks shows
Rather than employing some new form of pyrotechnology that dampens the noise of traditional fireworks
such "quiet" displays mostly make selective use of existing non-loud forms of fireworks:
they are used routinely in classic firework shows as visual effects to accompany the loud bangs
Think of the "comet tail," which shoots into the sky with a trail of sparkles before quietly fizzling out
Or the "flying fish," which features tiny tadpole embers scattering away from a silent burst
What is new is the emergence of a genre of low-key
quiet fireworks displays for audiences that want the fanfare of fireworks without the auditory disturbance
[But] quiet fireworks can be more colorful
The colors in a firework are packed in pellets called "stars." When certain chemical compounds are heated
they emit signature colors to get rid of their excess energy
red comes from strontium and blues are made with copper
these types of displays are generally more appropriate for smaller crowds rather than for large
there are pros and cons to a quiet fireworks show
Because they do not include big aerial explosions
quiet shows cannot entertain a large audience
a professor emeritus of chemistry at Washington College in Maryland
traditionally big shows — like those on the Fourth of July — would need to be divided into smaller viewings
Although many readers may have only recently learned about the concept of "silent fireworks," most of them have probably already seen forms of these relatively noiseless displays
Here's a video of the "flying fish" firework referenced above:
reports about "silent fireworks" are less about the development of new noiseless products and more about how some towns are focusing on putting on quieter displays
These shows range from nearly silent displays featuring large sparklers
to aerial shows that employ most everything other than the massively loud aerial "skyrocket" shells
Paul Singh, the director of Epic Fireworks in England, said that his quiet firework displays are typically softer than the accompanying music and are well below the 120 decibel limit placed on fireworks sold in the UK:
The World Health Organization lists 120 decibels as the pain threshold for sound
including sharp sounds such as thunderclaps
and can even reach up to 170 decibels or more," said Nathan Williams
an audiologist at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Nebraska
but they are nowhere near the 120-decibel cap placed on consumer fireworks in Britain
The fireworks he uses in quiet shows are softer than the music he plays to accompany the visuals
His company has done quiet firework shows for school groups
senior citizen homes and venues near easily spooked animals like horses
A 2012 video from Gala Fireworks shows just how quiet (or loud) these "silent firework" displays can be
This footage was taken during a wedding at Browsholme Hall in England
and the company explained that they used "low-noise" fireworks because the venue was surrounded by farm land and they didn't want to scare the livestock:
Although companies may bill these displays as "silent" or "quiet," the fireworks can still generate a good bit of noise. In fact, when the Birmingham Botanical Gardens advertised a quieter fireworks show in 2015, a number of parents still complained that the "silent" explosions were far too loud:
Helen Panayi posted on Facebook: "Very disappointing that the advertised 'silent fireworks' weren't actually silent
Lots of upset children and angry parents."
Katie Harrison wrote on the same site: "Very disappointed that the advertised 'silent' fireworks were far from silent
My frightened two-year-old (who I never would have taken to a normal display) did not appreciate them."
the term "silent fireworks" does not refer to a new form of firework that produces huge explosions with little or no noise
but rather to shows that selectively utilize existing forms of relatively quiet fireworks

The Museo Ettore Guatelli is a world-famous ethnographic museum housed in a restored farmstead in the country village of Collecchio
that presents a stunning collection of over 50,000 everyday objects
“The beauty of the everyday life events we have always neglected and their inner value that we have not recognized were disclosed to us by a simple man from Parma’s countryside
His name is Ettore Guatelli.” (Werner Herzog
For people believing that a museum’s mission is something different from the simple act of preserving and storing findings and that a museum should be able to involve its visitors in a unique and fascinating experience
such kind of magic can be found in the Guatelli Museum of Ozzano Taro
a rural village close to the northern Italian city of Parma
The objects have completely concealed the building walls
and bunches of mugs produce the effect of an accessible art installation
that looks even more powerful in the smaller rooms of Guatelli’s home
No objects are exposed as a single specimen but rather in a hundred samples
creating patterns that somehow remember the rocaille ornaments of a 16th-century grotto
plaster stalactites or precious incrustations of nacre and gems
such ornaments are made of the humble objects that Guatelli collected throughout his life: disused things that so regain their dignity
used as the letters of an original alphabet aimed to narrate our everyday life
a man collected the rural cultural objects and created the largest
gathered pieces related to agricultural society as well as to peasants’ everyday life and collected them with an EXCEPTIONAL open-mindedness without preferring one object to another

9 January 2025 - Pontus Almqvist is a perfect example
he was the only Swedish player to score a goal in his Serie A debut
a mere pawn in Parma's offensive department
He leaves nothing to chance; he is a player who sacrifices himself and runs tirelessly for the team
His contribution is not limited to goals or assists: Pontus is the one who does the dirty work
the one who puts his heart into every play and is always ready when he enters the game
It is no coincidence that he is the Parma player with the most appearances as a substitute in this Serie A: 13 out of a total of 16
A significant figure that highlights his ability to get on the pitch and make a difference
to enter an open game and try to get it done
In terms of minutes played as a substitute
Almqvist ranks at the top of the table: only Atalanta's Lazar Samardzic (388 minutes) has played more minutes as a substitute than the Swede's 360 minutes
his constant appearance has led to him starring in two goals: an assist in the match against AC Milan on 24 August
just one less than in his entire previous season in Serie A with Lecce (where he scored three)
Pontus is one of five Swedes to have found the net in the Gialloblu shirt: the company is illustrious
The forward is also known for his tactical intelligence
a talent that has been noticed since the moment he stepped through the gates of the Mutti Training Centre in Collecchio: among players with at least 500 minutes played in this Serie A
Important numbers that tell us he is a complete striker
but also creates chances and disrupts opposing defences with his speed and tactical intelligence
Pontus is not simply a striker: he is a key player
capable of leaving his mark every time he gets on the pitch
The Team Italy U13 softball squad dominated the 2023 European Massimo Romeo Youth Trophy (EMRYT) in Collecchio by scoring 99 runs and allowing only 13 runs in seven games
Team Italy winning pitcher Sabrina Bottazzi surrendered just one run on two hits with nine strikeouts and one walk in the 9-1 victory
The Italian offense was fueled by catcher Giorgia Colino
Leadoff hitter Alessandra Metta doubled and scored once
Cleanup hitter Sabrina Bottazzi was a perfect 1-for-1 with two walks
Rebecca Soldi walked twice and crossed the plate three times
Cloe Guzzon collected two hits and one RBI
Viola Masini also contributed with her one hit

22 February 2024 - The Gialloblu took to the field this morning at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio
to continue their preparation for Saturday's match against Como
and personalized individual work for each player
the schedule includes a training session in the morning
spoke with Sky Sport at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio
“It’s great to be part of such a young team
There’s so much life in the locker room and a lot of enthusiasm in training
I try to bring my experience and also my energy and my desire to do well
I aim to share this with the younger players because it’s beneficial and uplifting
We need to stay calm and continue on our path
maintaining confidence in what has been achieved
We want to showcase our style of play and our qualities
There’s a lot of joy and also a lot of potential
and the players should stay calm and express what they have inside
but we have the qualities to handle any challenge
We need to find our rhythm in our work and our play and aim to replicate what was achieved last year'
We learn along the way from what we do in the Youth Sector
and then we need to have the personality to put our own mark on it because that’s what leads to winning'
“I’m really happy here; I’ve given my full availability to the club
and I’d be pleased to continue here for many years
Sharing a room with Partipilo during the retreat
Spending a year together makes a difference
The 10,000 season ticket holders and our relationship with the fans
We hope they support us as much as they did last season
14 March 2024 - The morning session for the Gialloblu took place at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio in preparation for the match against Feralpisalò
tactical drills with a focus on the offensive phase
the schedule includes a morning session before departing in the afternoon for the match in Piacenza
any celebration that involves fireworks is a bad day
Most dog owners I know dread New Year’s Eve and for those of us State Side
Fourth of July is the worst day of the year (as are the days
even weeks leading up to it when impatient kids are setting off crackers early)
my Facebook feed is full of angry dog parents wishing people would just “stop with the fireworks.”
those with the fireworks do have the right to set them off (as long as they are legal)
And it’s hard to make someone who doesn’t own a frightened dog understand how bad it is
I’ve heard stories from clients of dog’s that have broken through second story windows in terror of the noise
Countless dogs go missing on July 4th each year
some even opting to board their dog at a facility not near any displays
meaning they are not getting to join in on the fun of the holiday
Until now. A firework company called Setti Fireworks in Italy has created silent fireworks for the comfort of dogs and children
Their spectacular displays can be set to music
adding to the visual display without dogs thinking the world is ending
The fireworks aren’t ENTIRELY silent
but the noise that accompanies the pretty lights are significantly quieter
has decided that the welfare of its pets is more important than those big booms associated with firework displays
The local government recently introduced legislation requiring all citizens to use silent fireworks
The following is an example of their “silent firework” shows
which are often used for weddings and intimate settings
Whether you have a frightened dog at home or not
we want to know what you think about silent fireworks – should all cities have this legislation for the comfort of our animals or do you think it takes away from the show

COLLECCHIO, ITALY - NOVEMBER 12: Mario Balotelli during Italy training session on November 12, 2012 in Collecchio, Italy. (Photo by Claudio Villa/Getty Images)
Mario Balotelli does not want to leave Manchester City, despite a struggle to make a lasting impact at the club, which saw him dropped from the squad for Sunday's win over Tottenham.
After his outstanding European Championship with Italy, Balotelli has started only six games this season, with his contribution in the 2-2 draw at Anfield in August the only one which could be considered a big game for the club. His continued struggle to prove the doubters wrong led to weekend reports that he may be destined to head back to Milan, with Internazionale and Milan said to be interested and unlikely to blanch at a £20m price tag.
But the 22-year-old's agent, Mino Raiola, said yesterday that the striker wanted to see out his contract, which expires in June 2015 and retained a belief that he could establish himself at City, despite Edin Dzeko's emergence which has pushed him to fourth in the pecking order.
"There's no Italy and no plans to go there," said Raiola. "He'll work until the end of his contract. He doesn't want to leave." Of Mancini's decision to drop Balotelli from the entire squad, Raiola said: "There's no player happy with not playing in a game but he accepts it. It's all part of the game. It doesn't mean he wants to leave Manchester."
Balotelli is yet to score in the Premier League for City in this campaign, and his only goal in open play came in the 4-2 home defeat to Aston Villa, in the Capital One Cup. It is not what he had expected when he proved to be one of the surprises of this summer's championship in Poland and Ukraine, scoring two superb goals in his national team's 2-1 triumph over Germany in the semi-finals.
Joe Hart said he wants no comparisons with Manchester United, despite City's ability to come from behind in games, like they did on Sunday, reflecting United's ability to do the same. City have come from behind to win four times this season, to United's eight in all competitions. "That's what they [United] do. We're our own team now," Hart said. "We're developing a real identity."
Neither would the goalkeeper say that recoveries like on Sunday – when City trailed Spurs with 25 minutes to go – instilled belief in the side. "I think we've got that belief anyway," Hart said. "With the quality and the spirit, we're not here for anything else other than to win. We don't turn up to tick boxes or make people happy."
Hart agreed that winning when things were not going their way was a sign of being champions. "Of course, that's the only way you're going to win things because people are snapping at your heels, so you have to win regardless of how you play."

Aerial fireworks consist of four components
according to How Stuff Works: There’s a cylindrical container made of pasted paper and string to hold everything; the “stars,” which are little pellets packed with specific chemical compounds which
create the colors you see in a fireworks display; the bursting charge
which is what’s responsible for making the firework explode; and the fuse
which “provides a time delay so the shell explodes at the right altitude.” The latter three elements are combined with black powder in the container tube and then launched with a mortar
However, according to the New York Times, “the most explosive fireworks… have only a hint of color” due to the initial burst being “too powerful”; an overly powerful burst causes the stars to shatter
professor emeritus of chemistry at Maryland’s Washington Collage
told the Times that with these kinds of fireworks
Here’s why all this matters: Loud noises stress a lot of animals out — and fireworks can be one of the worst triggers
one of the best things you can do is to avoid putting them in those situations whenever possible
Ark.; officials believe they were distressed by the fireworks the town had set off and had flown into chimneys
and other obstacles as they tried frantically to escape
