The verdict has arrived in the LBA's race to save the team
the Vanoli Cremona achieves a fundamental victory
sweeping the board Pistoia and thus securing their permanence in the top division
comes thebitter relegation together with Scafati
Cooke 5: suffers the physical coupling with Owens and struggles on both sides of the court; he also misses simple semi-hook shots in attack
Forrest 5: completely out of rhythm in the first half of the game
he only scored points when the game was already over
he puts himself at the service of his teammates with precious assists in the first half
but then he drops and no longer has an impact
Benetti 5,5: used extensively in the first quarter
but not very precise in shooting and unable to leave a mark
Allen 5,5: tries to shake up the team at a critical moment in the second quarter
but he is not the driving force seen at Taliercio
only one attempt from the arc: a sign of how much Cremona was able to limit him
Della Rosa 6: four rebounds and tears at the end of the game: a symbol of someone who never gave up even in the most difficult moments
Paschall 6,5: excellent approach to the game
he uses his physicality well to attack the basket and is among the last to give up
Valerio Bodon 5,5: only 5 points and 4 rebounds: never really in the game
Okhorn 5: the timeout called in the second quarter does not have the desired effect
and the team sinks without ever recovering
a much more combative performance was expected
Owens 7: spectacular dunks and dominance under the basket in key moments
Willis 7: classy triples for the ex of the day
Jones 6,5: contributes with good offensive and rebounding plays
Davis 7,5: He defends strongly on the main opposing firepower
plays for his teammates and also finds important points between the first and second quarters
Nikolic 7: his points at the beginning of the third quarter definitely split the game
then he leaves space for his teammates in the second half
he doesn't enchant but still gives his contribution to the cause
Burns 6,5: from the bench he brings experience and concreteness
Brotto 7,5: an evening to frame: prepares a very delicate match in the best way
Everyone gives their contribution for a very important salvation

Nicolo Bulega says “it’s incredible” to complete the Cremona WorldSBK treble despite the track being his “worst” on the calendar
The Italian earned his second hat-trick of 2025 by dominating the weekend ahead of title rival Toprak Razgatlioglu
who claimed second in each of the three races
Bulega reinstated his championship lead to 34 points after a double DNF in Assen due to technical problems.
The Italian rider admitted he did not expect to win at the track as he finds it “difficult to adapt.”
“Incredible, because like I said, already 100 times, this is my worst track of all the calendar,” Bulega told media, including Motorsport Week.
“I really don’t like this track for my riding style
it’s difficult to adapt here because there are a lot of slow corners
and for me slow corners are very bad to do.
It’s an unbelievable weekend.
but the same result of the track you prefer exactly the same
The Italian admitted he knew he would be facing championship rival Razgatlioglu on the road
but had a plan to ensure the BMW man would not find a way past.
my plan was just try to push 100% and try to beat Toprak in the pace,” Bulega said.
“I knew that maybe Toprak was a bit more difficult for him to follow my pace in this track.
like 120% for trying to go and my plan work also today
I think this is the reason why I go fast with Ducati
because I ride like Ducati want to be right
So sometimes we are a bit difficult in the same time in the same corner
Bulega was evidently emotional as he took the chequered flag to complete his treble in Cremona.
The Italian had been supported throughout the weekend by various high-profile figures
including MotoGP Team Co-ordinator Davide Tardozzi and General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna.
Bulega admitted it was “even more special” to win in front of Dall’Igna in particular.
for all the people who come here to see me and also for my team and for all the people you met,” said Bulega.
“It now is very nice to give them a gift here in Italy because I know a win in Italy for Ducati is very special also for me.
Afraid I already say that my goal is to stay with Ducati because like you see
it’s’ always fantastic to stay with them
I don’t sign anything and we are just waiting.
I’m just more happy to win with Gigi [Dall’lgna] in the garage because he’s the boss of the Ducati
so winning in front of him is even more special.
“It was important for me to make a great result
and to do it in front of Gigi is even more special.”

Ducati’s Nicolo Bulega confirmed his dominance of the Cremona WorldSBK round by taking his third victory of the weekend in Race 2
The Italian prevailed over rival Toprak Razgatlioglu and team-mate Alvaro Bautista to complete a treble of race wins at his home circuit.
Razgatlioglu made a better start than polesitter Bulega
but the Italian was able to maintain his advantage going down into the first corner.
Two mistakes in quick succession from Bulega gave Razgatlioglu the chance to overtake the Ducati into the final corner
and El Turco didn’t need a second invitation as he moved into the league.
The battles raged in the early stages further down the order
with the Honda of Xavi Vierge taking the advantage over Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Locatelli in the opening laps
Bulega wouldn’t back down from the fight with the Turkish rider
and used his advantage on the straights to pressurise the BMW.
Razgatlioglu made his frustrations with his lack of horsepower clear as he shook his head while fending off Bulega on Lap 3.
Bulega used his advantage and moved back into the lead
with Razgatlioglu unable to respond in the final corner.
Petrucci somehow made a move stick on Vierge despite the bike being completely out of shape
as last year’s treble winner took fourth.
Iker Lecuona and Michael van der Mark were also getting racy for eighth position
Lecuona also tried to overtake Van der Mark
but made a mistake shortly after getting a move done and was forced to relinquish the position.
The Dutchman himself made a mistake moments later
as the battle continued to rage on for the lower points positions
As Bulega and Razgatlioglu held their positions out front
Honda’s pace continued to be the story to follow
with Lecuona passing Iannone for eighth.
There was contact between Van der Mark and Iannone as they continued the most prevalent battle of the race
but the Dutchman took the initiative to overtake the Ducati.
passing last weekend’s race victor Locatelli for seventh.
The Spanish rider then managed to catch team-mate Vierge and the MarcVDS of Sam Lowes
and made two aggressive moves to get into the top five
Bulega increased the gap between himself and Razgatlioglu to over two seconds to almost secure a second treble of 2025.
The Italian was clearly emotional as he took the chequered flag to seal his hat-trick by 1.826s
Razgatlioglu was forced to settle for second behind his title rival once more as his BMW lacked the pace to challenge.
Bautista completed the podium in third as the rostrum remained unchanged for all three races of the weekend.
as Lowes won the battle for fifth over the Honda pairing of Lecuona and Vierge.
Locatelli ended his weekend with an eighth place for Yamaha
as Van der Mark saw off a late challenge from Remy Gardner for ninth.
Alex Lowes took the flag in 11th for the Bimota team
while Kawasaki’s Garrett Gerloff was a further two seconds back in 12th
MGM Bonovo’s Scott Redding was 13th ahead of Iannone in a disappointing 14th for the GoEleven rider.

which put his championship rival through once again

Toprak Razgatlioglu heads into Cremona round blind - Credit: BMW Motorrad
Reigning WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu has admitted that he enters the Cremona race weekend without a “base set-up” to build on
Razgatlioglu was forced to miss the inaugural Cremona round last year due to injuries sustained in a crash during practice at Magny-Cours
He had a mixed weekend in Assen where the Turkish rider claimed fourth
The BMW rider is currently 21 points behind championship protagonist Nicolo Bulega after finishing fourth and eighth in Race 1 and Race 2 at Assen
but his main highlight was winning the Superpole race
Speaking on Thursday ahead of the race weekend, Razgatlioglu told WorldSBK: “I’m really happy to arrive at Cremona after I missed competing here last year
“I did test here last year but only ran maybe 40 laps maximum
“I don’t know if the track particularly benefits BMW or me
Razgatlioglu admitted that due to his absence last year
he doesn’t know “what to expect” from the bike and its overall performance
The Turkish rider pointed out that Nicolo Bulega and all Ducati riders are his main competitors once again
but also made it clear that BMW isn’t quite at the sharp end of the grid just yet
“Assen was tough for [Nicolo] Bulega
but the second one when he was close to winning the race is disappointing
but I am never hoping for him to suffer a technical problem
“He and the rest of the Ducatis are very strong this year
if we can improve something on out BMW maybe we can get back to winning
but this has been a very difficult season for me
“I was trying just to finish with a good position
I hope we see a good result here because last year I didn’t compete here
because after 10 laps the bike behaves completely differently
we will see tomorrow and hopefully we are near the front.”

Bautista endured a quiet race to secure third position

as demonstrated by team-mate Andrea Locatelli who claimed his first WorldSBK win at Assen
“As soon as I sat on the ’25 bike in November
it felt like one of the fastest bikes on race pace
so I knew there were signs things were starting to happen
“I feel confident and ready – Cremona is a track that I haven’t raced at before
but I was able to spin a few laps in testing last season
“I’m just so happy to be back with my team and riding my Yamaha R1
Since I’ve been away the team has made some great improvements and achieved fantastic results with Locatelli including his first win in Assen
so I’m really motivated to start – to understand what my level is and work from there
looking forward to riding again with a smile on my face and trying to have a good weekend in Cremona!”

Out of that rich musical tradition comes the Quartetto di Cremona
which is celebrating its 25th year of making music together
The quartet will make its Friends of Chamber Music debut on April 9th when it teams up with Colorado Symphony violist Basil Vendryes
The program includes Debussy's forward-looking string quartet from 1893 and Osvaldo Golijov’s painfully beautiful “Tenebrae” from 2002
Vendryes will join the quartet for a late string quartet by Brahms
