The BVI Seventh Day Adventist Church and its Youth Society hosted a "March against HIV” to raise awareness on the disease in the Territory
The activity was planned and executed in collaboration with the Family Health Unit of the Ministry of Health and Social Development
Participants marched to the rhythm of the Pathfinder's Drum Core from the Band Stand in Road Town chanting
“Abstinence is the key to be HIV free
you should get tested and Join the fight and knock AIDS out of sight.”
The march ended at the parking lot next to the One Stop Mall where Family Health Coordinator
Noelene Levons spoke on sexual and reproductive health issues
HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. She also stressed the importance of abstinence
as well as how to be prepared for sex when one is ready
Levons said the event was a perfect example of community ownership and partnership
because the BVI Seventh Day Adventist church took the initiative to plan and coordinate the event in collaboration with the public sector
“I hope that the event will expand in the future with the involvement of other faith-based organisations as well as schools and civil society groups to become an annual initiative."
Jacob Adolphus said the march was planned and executed by the Youth Department of the Seventh Day Adventist church and the purpose was to raise awareness on HIV and AIDS in the Territory
“I believe that it was very successful
the community got the message and the presenters were on point
I hope that everyone would be more conscious about their sexuality and that this event would become an annual one because we believe that knowledge is power."
Pastor Lariano Webster incorporated the story of the prodigal son and the forgiveness and reconciliation of God when persons choose to do things their own way
Henderson Title also shared his testimony of losing his best friend to AIDS
He said he has pledged his commitment to share his friend's experience in order to create awareness
The march was coloured by many persons who wore red T-shirts with messages including
"Join the Fight against HIV!" and placards with printed slogans such as "Sex is great so...set a date"
"Abstinence is the cure for HIV that's for sure"
and "Don't hop into bed until you are wed."

With the start of the UEFA U-17 Championship fast approaching
the pool of experts in charge of the Maltese side
spearheaded by coach Sergio Soldano and technical director Robert Gatt
are hoping that the team’s participation in this year’s Roma Caput Mundi tournament will pep up their preparations for the big event in May
Malta’s adventure began yesterday in the mundane ground of AS Lariano
the Maltese youngsters had to contend with the physical challenge of the England Colleges FA U-18 National Team and came through the test with flying colours
Soldano’s boys were in control for most of the game
and Sliema Wanderers forward Aidan Friggieri gave Malta a 2-0 half-time cushion
made it 3-0 with a crisp grounder early in the second half and further goals from Kyrian Nwoko
and Dega-briele wrapped up victory for Malta
The English youngsters never gave up hope though
Their late efforts produced three goals with 18-year-old Declan Watson
helping himself to a double as a series of substitutions halted Malta’s momentum
Soldano was pleased with his side’s performance
“It was a good test for us,” the Argentine mentor said
“The boys approached the game knowing that we can do well
The English players were very strong physically as most of them were born in 1996
“We did well today and scored a couple of good goals
the players eased off a bit and that was evident
I wasn’t really happy that we conceded three goals
it was a useful outing which should lift the team’s confidence for this tournament.”

Fabregas between injuries and suspensions he had to redo the whole defense, playing with three players with Engelhardt on the left, dropped back from his traditional midfield position, with Dossena and Kempf. There is also something new in attack, with Cutrone on the bench and Paz and Strefezza acting as false nines.
Paz tries his head right away in the 4th minute, but Carnesecchi blocks without any problems. Butez comes out in the 15th minute and blocks Lockman, who is launched towards the goal. The teams play tightly packed in thirty meters. Como tries to come out on the wings with Diao and Fadera, but Scalvini and Kolasinac always keep a good watch.
Moreno, already in precarious conditions, gets injured in the 25th minute: the young Primavera player Felipe Jack comes in for Como. Como takes the lead: Fadera's irresistible run down the left, his low cross cuts through the entire Bergamo defence, Nico Paz arrives in the race and does not forgive, beating Carnesecchi with his right foot.
Pairetto cancels for offside, then recalled by the VAR confirms the goal. We wait for Atalanta, Gasperini is furious, but it is Como who still stings with a free kick from Da Cunha, lifted over the crossbar by Carnesecchi.
The first half ends with a clash of heads between Perrone and De Roon: the game stops for rescue for 4 minutes.
In the second half Gasperini inserts From Ketelaere and Bellanova to recover. At the beginning, however, it is still Como. At 3' with another number Paz on the wing finds Perrone in front of the goal. The Aregentino kicks high. The Bergamo team starts to press and at 11 they equalize.
Brescianini flees to Engelhardt and immediately unleashed a cross that Retegui pounced on, beating Kempf and beating Butez with a perfect volley.
In the 19th minute, the Bergamo team risked an own goal: Diao, after a slalom, fired a cross shot towards the goal, Ruggeri headed it to Carnesecchi, almost scoring.
Subsequently Lookman, fast as a cobra, it slips between the Larian meshes and beats Butez. Pairetto disallows for offside. It is only the prelude to the Atalanta lead, with a goal that is a carbon copy of the first. Brescianini crosses from the left for Retegui, which still anticipates Kempf and beats Butez with his right foot.
Como would have equalized with Cutrone, quick to touch a shot from Paz, but it was clearly offside. Immediately after, another goal was disallowed, this time for the Nerazzurri: De Ketelaere touched Butez's rebound with his arm, on his first shot. The final stretch was all Como, looking for the equalizer, but Carnesecchi and the Orobic defense closed the door.
