The forthcoming weekend sees the last round of the TrialGP World Championship to be held in Italy. Current leader Toni Bou will be in attendance, firmly intent on sealing yet another world championship title. The 2020 TrialGP World Championship wraps up at this weekend’s event held at the Lazzate Trial Park. Repsol Honda Team will line up their duo of riders, Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami, with Bou looking to consolidate his place at the head of the championship table, while Fujigas will be hoping to improve on his position in the overall standings. Toni Bou currently holds the world championship top-spot with a 10-point advantage over the nearest second-placed rival; however, 40 points still remain at stake. The Repsol Honda Team rider hopes to close the campaign with a new title. Team-mate Takahisa Fujinami, who narrowly missed out on a podium place in the most recent outing, will seek to continue the positive trend of recent results in an attempt to better the sixth place that he currently occupies. Lazzate, some 35 kilometres from the centre of Milan, has previously held a round of the European Championship in 2017, although none of the top ten riders took part in the event. This weekend’s trials will take place on Saturday and Sunday in the La Battú trial area, on a five-kilometre course, including ten sections to be tackled over three laps. The trials are scheduled to conclude at 15:30. “This year has been a very strange one due to COVID-19 and despite keeping in shape and training hard in the first world championship trial I had problems with an old injury which didn’t allow me to perform at my best Having the first three trials all in a row I wasn’t able to fully recover so now I hope we have been able to sort out some of these physical issues and will be able to tackle the Italian trial in better shape” “This year I did not expect the previous results although in Andorra I started to feel much better and I almost finished on the podium on the final day The feelings are getting better and I hope to get a better result in the two final trials The championship is very tight and I will fight to finish as high as possible Leave a Reply Lo siento, debes estar registrado para publicar un comentario Ravelli New Master of Pontifical Celebrations The Holy Father appointed The Most Reverend Monsignor Diego Giovanni another world championship title Bou’s title came earlier than expected with one remaining season date still to complete tomorrow whose results this season now include five wins These results – together with those of his greatest rival – guarantee the title with the champion adding even more silverware to an already packed trophy cabinet The season began with a battle against the pandemic which had forced a major overhaul of the scheduled championship calendar and limited the amount of pre-season training that Repsol Honda Team riders were able to do Things worsened with an arm injury picked up in the opening round of the world championship Toni Bou faced and was able to overcome these adversities going on to clinch the championship title in Italy Adding to the other 14 titles from the ‘indoor’ discipline Toni now sports no less than 28 world titles since the unstoppable reign began back in 2007 reaffirmed the supremacy that has seen Repsol Honda Team dominate in trial competitions over the last fourteen years rode a fine trial to post a well-deserved fourth place Fujigas is now fifth in the 2020 TrialGP overall standings with one event still to go Repsol Honda Team will tomorrow face the final trial of this unusual 2020 World Championship in the same venue in the La Battú trial area Today I really didn't expect to win the championship so it was very easy to drop from first to seventh which has been so strange with many training sessions and few trials Today the truth is that we did not expect to win but his greatest rival wasn’t able to beat him We have to congratulate Toni who has performed an impeccable trial I also want to congratulate the entire team for the great work done and the medical team who have been very important we have no choice but to celebrate this championship
