If it had already been particularly painful previously, relegation from Serie B a year ago, this time the 15th place in a category where Ascoli should have been fighting in the top five of the standings, or at least taking part in the next playoffs, has had all the flavour of an irremediable collapse from which the black and white club seems unable to recover.
Gli uomini di Gorgone, partono bene con Catanese, che al 1’ prolunga di testa per Visconti, che di destro calcio alto sopra la traversa. Ancora una buona occasione per la Lucchese che all’8, con Selvini crossa al centro per Magnaghi, ma il rasoterra del numero nove va a lato.
Nitida occasione da gol al 10’ con Selvini che raccoglie palla al limite dell’area di rigore, si gira e di destro, calcia a botta sicura, ma la palla termina fuori di pochissimo.
Al 13’ Magnaghi, raccoglie palla fuori dall’area di rigore da Ballarini e di destro batte Perucchi, portando in vantaggio i rossoneri. Salvaggio di Bendetti al 19’ su Basso Ricci, con il difensore rossonero che si immola deviando in angolo.
Lucchese di nuovo in avanti con Visconti al 20’ che costringe Muteba alla deviazione in angolo. Ancora pericolosi i rossoneri con il colpo di testa di Selvini, con Perucchini, che con un bel colpo di reni leva la palla dalla porta.
Brutto fallo a centrocampo di Catanese su Diaby con entrambi i giocatori che sono costretti al cambio. Il primo tempo non regala altre emozioni ed i rossoneri provano a chiudere in avanti alla ricerca del gol della sicurezza. Nel secondo tempo parte meglio il Legnago, ma è sempre la Lucchese che al 13’ va vicina al secondo gol con con Magnaghi, ma  Perucchini respinge con la mano.
Ancora il numero nove rossonero poco dopo approfittando di un errore di Ampollini, manda la palla poco a lato. La Lucchese c’è e vuole cercare di chiudere il match, segnando il secondo gol, che però non vuole arrivare.
L’ultima occasione arriva in pieno recupero con un tiro da fuori di Gucher, respinto da Perucchini, sulla respinta arriva Ballarini, ma il destro fa la barba al palo. La Lucchese ha provato a chiudere in avanti, ma non è riuscita a trovare il gol della vittoria e si deve accontentare di questo punticino. E domenica alle 15 al Porta Elisa arriva la Ternana.

Se, infatti, dovesse battere la Torres terza in classifica, domenica, al &quot;Porta Elisa&quot;, per la salvezza diretta bisognerà sperare che il Sestri Levante non vinca a Carpi, formazione al dodicesimo posto e che non ha obiettivi: gli emiliani sono già salvi, ma non possono più qualificarsi per i play-off. Se vincono entrambe (Pantera e Sestri) rimangono gli 8 punti di distacco e, invece, ne servono 9.
Ma c’è un altro dato certo: la Lucchese sarà sicuramente quint’ultima. Con &quot;forbice&quot; o meno. La Spal è a 32, a -4 dai rossoneri. Il Milan Futuro è a 33 punti. Se anche la Lucchese perdesse con la Torres e i rossoneri meneghini vincessero, finirebbero entrambe a 36, ma la Lucchese ha il vantaggio degli scontri diretti. Quindi, male che vada, la Pantera farà i play-out contro la penultima, chiunque sia, nel caso non ce la faccia a centrare il distacco di 9 punti.
Riassumendo, diciamo che se, la Lucchese perde con la Torres, saranno sicuramente play-out, anche se dovessero perdere le dirette rivali; se vince, dovrà ascoltare il risultato del &quot;Cabassi&quot; di Carpi, dove gioca il Sestri Levante; se pareggia anche quello del &quot;Del Duca&quot; di Ascoli, dove sarà di scena il Legnago. Sarà tutto chiaro domenica alle 18,30.
