a partire proprio dall’armatore Guido Bernardinelli

One notable baseball mind on the internet was left perplexed
Baseball YouTuber Marc Luino, known for his channel “GiraffeNeckMarc,” posted a video giving his thoughts on the Jorge Soler trade
His overall thoughts were that this was a great move for the Braves but didn’t make sense for the Angels
He liked that the Braves were able to clear salary while also gaining a pitcher who had a year of club control
“I don’t how you can get free innings like that very often along with shedding $26 million,” Luino said
The Braves originally owned $26 million of the $32 million that Soler has on his contract over the next two seasons
The Giants are on the hook for $8 million of retained salary
this trade was essentially a salary dump that also helped clear a logjam at the designated hitter position
Soler’s defense is liability and they have an all-star bat in Marcell Ozuna
he didn’t like it for the Angels because the Angels were taking on all the salary for a DH-only hitter while forfeiting more of their shallow pitching depth
Even if Canning isn’t that effective of a pitcher
that doesn’t mean that Canning can’t become some surprise addition to the Braves starting rotation
That’s how Reynaldo Lopez made his way onto the scene
He was brought in as an affordable pitching option
The Braves tend to have something up their sleeves
“There are things that could improve in Cannings game
and I would not be shocked if the Braves know exactly what that is,” Luino said
Luino was especially a fan of Canning’s slider. According to Baseball Savant
Canning’s offspeed pitches were in the 87th percentile in run value in 2024
Perhaps the Braves crack a code with that information
He doesn’t necessarily have to be in the rotation
He could make an effective addition to the bullpen too
For a move that primarily helped shed salary

Despite Marianne Vos not starting her title defence at Dwars door Vlaanderen Women due to illness
Visma-Lease a Bike remain hopeful that she will be able to start Sunday's Tour of Flanders
The team confirmed Vos would not take the start in Waregem just hours before the riders rolled out on Wednesday
Marianne [Vos] isn’t fit enough to start today in Dwars door Vlaanderen
Marianne!" read a social media post from Visma
Women's team Sports Director Jan Boven shed some more light on the situation
"She had a bad night and was really not feeling well," Boven told Cyclingnews at the women's start
"Also this morning at breakfast it was not like we hoped and to avoid the risks in the direction of Flanders
Boven was on stage to collect a prize for Vos, a T-shirt celebrating her 250th victory as a professional
which she scored at Dwars door Vlaanderen in 2024
last year she won here and she has a bit special feeling about the race," said the sports director
"It fits her also really well so she was pretty sad."
Are Visma confident she will take the start of the Tour of Flanders in Oudenaarde on Sunday
we hope for the best and that she can have an easy day today and do something starting again tomorrow."
If Vos doesn't recover in time for Flanders
then Visma-Lease a Bike should start the women's race with Pauline Ferrand-Prévot as leader and 19-year-old Imogen Wolff as another solid option
it would hurt any two-leader strategy they had planned but Boven acknowledged how these things happen in cycling
"Of course if on Sunday Marianne is not starting
"When you have two really strong ladies you can make a more easy plan than with one leader
but we'll adapt with new plans if we have to."

It all came down to a sprint despite wave after wave of attacks coming in the final two laps of the race with Elisa Balsamo taking her third Trofeo Binda win
Despite multiple attacks from the biggest names in the sport
it came back together for a reduced bunch sprint in Cittiglio.
Hello and welcome to CyclingNews' live report of the Trofeo Alfredo Binda 2025
The lineup is truly amazing with almost every big star name on the starlist aside from the pure sprinters as well as world champion Lotte Kopecky
The riders have completed sign on and are getting ready for the neutral start in Luino
Visma-Lease a Bike lineup with a superb squad which includes the rider with the join most victories at this race (four)
The three-time road world champion comes to this race to open her 2025 season after a return to cyclocross racing in the winter.
Alongside Vos is Pauline Ferrand-Prevot who comes in off the back of an impressive Strade Bianche podium as well as cyclocross world champion
Fem van Empel as three young talents of Marion Bunel
The riders have begun the neutralised start.

The official start is given and the racing begins for the 51st Trofeo Alfredo Binda
the peloton is all together with no early moves.
The peloton is going at a fairly brisk pace at the start of the day with the average speed just under 40kph.
20km in and the peloton is all together as the race nears the only limb that isn't on the circuit today
the 6.1km long Masciago Primo which has a gentle average of 3.9% in gradient.
The peloton is currently being led by Visma-Lease a Bike
FDJ-Suez and Picnic-PostNL for their leaders as the race is still all together.
Onto the climb of Masciago Primo goes the race with 125km of racing to go.
Fem van Empel (Visma-Lease a Bike) wins the first QoM sprint on the Masciago Primo
There is a mountains competition today and the cyclocross world champion has put herself in with a chance of taking it with that early win
The race is still ticking along at a good pace with the race now just 14km for the first passage of the finish line
The race has crossed the finish line for the first time today
There was an attack by Nina Buijsman (FDJ-Suez) on the Masciago Primo climb with the riders who contested the QoM involved as well Amanda Spratt (Lidl-Trek)
That has now been brought back by the bunch.
There is an intermediate sprint coming up in 5km in the town of Cuveglio
It is the only intermediate sprint of the day.
Over 50km of racing complete with the peloton still completely together.
The racing is finally properly kicking off as the laps of the finishing circuit begin.
The riders are on the first passage of the Orino climb
The riders will hope to make an early split here and get racing going.
They have a handful of seconds on the peloton.
The gap has extended to 50" as every major team is represented in this front group of 13 with the likes of AG Insurance-Soudal and Human Powered Health missing out.
There is actually 14 riders in the lead group as there is a second Canyon-SRAM-ZondaCrypto ridr alongside Neve Bradbury
I believe it is Alice Towers but may be Antonia Niedermaier.
The gap to the leading group of 14 riders is now over a minute
They have already gone over the other climb of the Casale and are now on the Orino once again.
The second Canyon-SRAM-ZondaCrypto in the lead group rider is Antonia Niedermaier.
The peloton is spread across the road but is keeping the pace high with the gap up to 1'25" between the leaders and the peloton.
AG Insurance-Soudal are the team who has finally taken responsibility in the peloton and are now chasing the leaders down as they head to the finish line again with just four laps remaining after that
Around a minute and a half between the leaders and the peloton as they head over the halfway mark.
Just over halfway through Trofeo Binda and our 2 time winner @lizziedeignan is in the lead group of 14 with 1:30 on the peleton 👀 #TrofeoBinda@GettySport pic.twitter.com/wgnBoRXvTIMarch 16, 2025
The gap has suddenly tumbled to just 50" between the peloton and the leaders.
Mona Mitterwallner (Human Powered Health) tried to bridge the gap to the leaders but was heavily marked and wasn't allowed an inch.
The 20-year-old French rider drops back into the peloton
Unclear whether that is due to bad legs or if Demi Vollering needs her back in the bunch.
She didn't drop back all the way to the peloton as they go over the Orino climb yet again.
Julie van de Velde (AG Insurance-Soudal) is on the front of the peloton and is closing the gap to the leaders with it now at just 32" between the two groups.
The leader's gap has been reduced to just 30" with three laps to go.
Just 22" between the leaders and the peloton now.
Christie and Rayer are struggling to follow the pace in the lead group as they go onto the Orino climb yet again.
The gap has extended out to 30" again.
The gap continues to expand with 40" splitting the break and the peloton.
They still have just over 30" on the peloton.
Live pictures show a completely new scenario as Noemi Ruegg (EF Education-Oatly) leading an attack over the top of the Casale climb as the riders are into the penultimate lap of the race
Dominika Włodarczyk and Magdeleine Vallieres have a gap of 14" over the chasing peloton which has shrunk down substantially thanks to the constant climbs throughout the race.
FDJ-Suez dramatically ups the pace in the peloton now as they try and close the two riders at the front of the race with multiple riders slipping out of the back of the bunch on the Orino climb.
She doesn't get away but has ripped the peloton to bits
Włodarczyk is now solo at the front of the race with 25km to go
They are dragged back with a Picnic-PostNL rider going over the top
that is dragged back as Włodarczyk is also brought back at the bottom of the descent.
Still quite a large peloton as Włodarczyk tries again as the pace lulls but FDJ-Suez now takes control.
Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez) being forced to close the break down herself
which she manages to do but a match used.
The former world champion uses her amazing descending skills to get a gap on the rest with a rider from Liv-AlUla-Jayco rider coming across to her as Justine Ghekiere (AG Insurance-Soudal) leading the chase in the peloton.
Anna van der Breggen is now solo with a gap of 16" over the chasing peloton
This is an extremely dangerous move.
Van der Breggen is solo and no-one is helping Demi Vollering in the chase behind as the leader now has 19" gap.
UAE Team ADQ now take over in the chase but Van der Breggen has 20" on the peloton now.
The chase is now being controlled by UAE Team ADQ as Elisa Longo-Borghini will surely attack on the remaining Casale and Orino climbs before the finish
Just 15" between Van der Breggen and the chasing peloton with 15km to go.
Picnic-PostNL now coming up to help UAE Team ADQ on the front as they turn onto the penultimate climb of the race
Vollering and Longo-Borghini blitz the group and go clear as a duo
Looks like Włodarczyk has managed to cling on at the back of the leaders as well.
As Kim Le Court (AG Insurance-Soudal) and Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike) bridge across to the leaders.
Joining the front is Mavi Garcia (Liv-AlUla-Jayco)
Silke Smulders (Liv-AlUla-Jayco) and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot (Visma-Lease a BIke).
Van der Breggen drags the peloton back to the front with Femke Gerritse (SD Worx-Protime) launching over the top but she is marked heavily.
Cat Ferguson (Movistar) is still in the peloton as the riders get ready for the final climb
She is closed down immediately by Silke Smulders (Liv-AlUla-Jayco) and the pace slackens again
They get a gap with a Marta Cavalli and Marianne Vos chasing and being joined by Demi Vollering and Kim Le Court.
The Dutch star has a small gap but Longo-Borghini manages to close her down with Pieterse
Marianne Vos sat up from the attack on the climb to sit in the peloton as Anna van der Breggen is working hard to bring the race back together again with 6km to go.
Liv-AlUla-Jayco and Visma-Lease a Bike are chasing hard.
The peloton come back to the leaders but Pieterse is using her cyclocross skills to force a gap
Vollering and one of the Liv-AlUla-Jayco riders follow but SD Worx-Protime is closing the gap yet again with 2km to go.
Van der Breggen comes back to the front as she appears to be working for her SD Worx-Protime teammate
The race comes back together and it is going to be a sprint finish
Elisa Balsamo (Lid-Trek) comes from nowhere to win Trofeo Alfredo Binda 2025 ahead of Blanka Vas (SD Worx-Protime) and Cat Ferguson (Movistar).
It is Elisa Balsamo's third victory at Trofeo Alfredo Binda
She just needs one more win to level up with Marianne Vos and Maria Canins on four victories.

If Nike and Fanatics were hoping the disastrous press they have received for their new uniform rollout would begin to blow over Thursday
For as much as fans have complained about the lowered MLB logo and smaller name font on the back of jerseys
life will go on in regards to those two issues
even if the game will be much less aesthetically pleasing
But as teams have had their photo days this week
it’s become clear to anyone with eyes that the Nike Vapor Premier uniforms have a flaw that may need to be addressed prior to the season beginning — the white pants are see-through
It’s insane how cheap the MLB pants are now. Fanatics what are we doing, we can see his jersey tucked in through his pants 😂 pic.twitter.com/GwwGfYbZY5
Nike and MLB really ruined the designs especially the pants it’s basically see through now they look so cheap 😭 pic.twitter.com/akYCxbVvPi
these pants don’t leave much to imagine
And there have already been multiple pictures of players wearing the new uniform pants that represent clear violations of their privacy
none of the borderline explicit photos that have surfaced so far include their players
But the pants with the home red pinstripes are indeed see-through
Not only are the pants see-through, but Stephen J. Nesbitt, Patrick Mooney and C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reported Thursday that there is a shortage of the uniform pants
which has led to some players being forced to wear either old Nike pants or Majestic ones in Spring Training
they are not certain if alternate jerseys will be available on time for the start of the season.”
which seemingly was put in place to limit the amount of different uniforms Fanatics had to produce per team
But maybe the pant shortage is a blessing in disguise
There’s five weeks until Opening Day
Fanatics is going to have to produce a ton of pants
Maybe they can produce ones that players don’t hate
and that don’t force a TV-17 rating to go up on the telecast before every inning begins

When Pauline Ferrand-Prévot announced her intention to return to road cycling, she had one clear ambition: to win the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift
The multiple time world champion stepped away from road racing in 2018
but with the arrival of a real Tour de France for women
the Frenchwoman's return has gone better than probably anyone would have expected
A few test runs in late 2024 were nothing to write home about
you'd hardly know she hadn't raced on the road for years
she is well amongst the protagonists of the women's peloton
the riders we expect to be in the top 10 all year
That's why this week at the Vuelta Femenina is perhaps the most important test so far for the Frenchwoman
She's proven what she can do in the Classics
it's stage racing where she really has questions to answer
and the mountains of the Vuelta will leave her nowhere to hide
After such an impressive spring, Ferrand-Prévot is certainly coming to this race with confidence, and Visma-Lease a Bike have named her as their GC leader whilst Marianne Vos chases stages
"I never dared to dream of a spring like this,” the Frenchwoman said ahead of the race
I enjoyed a short break at home to recharge
Now I feel completely ready to give it my all in La Vuelta."
Ferrand-Prévot started her 2025 with a stage race at the UAE Tour and finished forgettable 17th overall
Before that she hadn't raced a stage race on the road since the Women's Tour in 2018
but the last time she raced more than five stages on the road was ten years ago at the Giro
With so little recent experience with races like this
Ferrand-Prévot is going into the Vuelta without the pressure of results
"I started the spring with few expectations – nothing was required
I’ll approach La Vuelta with the same mindset," she said
Even if Ferrand-Prévot is going into the race with an open mind
she will still be in Spain to get some kind of result
and she likely will want to prove to herself and the world that a Tour de France bid is realistic
So what can we expect from the Frenchwoman
There may be questions over her ability in the mountains and stage racing
simply because she hasn't been doing that on the road
but if you look to more than just results sheets
there are a lot of signs that suggest Ferrand-Prévot will step back into stage racing with similar success as in the Classics
you may assume that it's a fairly flat affair
but in actual fact many of the hardest courses include some serious climbing and elevation gain
but mountain bikers are used to tough uphill efforts
so there's no reason to think that Ferrand-Prévot isn't a strong climber – the hillier MTB courses are the ones she tends to dominate
her pedigree in Cape Epic proves that racing over multiple days is not automatically an issue
we can look to Ferrand-Prévot's history in stage races as a suggestion of how she gets on in this races physically
Yes, the modern Grand Tours are thought to be a lot harder, and the level generally higher, but her second overall in the Giro in 2014 and wins in races like Emakumeen Bira do show that she is the kind of rider who can recover day after day and put together a good race over a longer period
At the Vuelta, the real key days will be the summit finishes on stages 5 and 7
and they offer challenges much bigger than anything Ferrand-Prévot has done so far this year
but when the Frenchwoman is climbing the 10 kilometres up to Lagunas de Neila
that cobble trophy isn't going to mean much
Ferrand-Prévot was realistic about her Tour goal
saying she wants to win it within three years
but the Vuelta marks perhaps the very first step in that project
The first part of the Vuelta challenge didn't go especially smoothly – Visma-Lease a Bike were forced to complain after bike check delays scuppered their TTT start
and the team lost 21 seconds in the opening stage – but there's still a lot to come this week
Even if the stage 1 time loss proves impactful on the GC
the way Ferrand-Prévot is able to climb will be important
"I believe it will be a key experience for my development
and hopefully we’ll be able to lay some foundations for the Tour de France
"I’m ready to give it my all together with my teammates
Ferrand-Prévot raced the Giro d'Italia Femminile three times from 2013 to 2015] which definitely adds some excitement."
Her Classics results may have put Ferrand-Prévot clearly in the narrative
her journey to a hoped-for Tour de France Femmes victory starts now
and we shouldn't doubt her abilities as a climber
but the truth is that the sport and the stage racing discipline has changed dramatically since she last took part in races like that
Ferrand-Prévot believes that she can contest in the Tour
her Classics campaign might have been proof enough of her abilities
and could truly make or break her chances of being counted as a serious GC contender
and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot has a big week ahead to try and answer them
director of the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland in Bellinzona
declined to confirm the report of the weekly Sonntagszeitung
He told The Associated Press Monday he could not comment because of patient confidentiality
The paper said Harrison has visited Switzerland's Italian-speaking region of Ticino regularly in the past two months
Italy a 40-minute drive south of Bellinzona and was treated at the institute during May and June
had surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester
at the beginning of May to remove a cancerous growth from one of his lungs
His lawyers said that after the successful operation he had traveled to Italy to rest
He also was treated for throat cancer in the late 1990s after he found a lump on his neck
He had surgery followed by two courses of radiation therapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital
Luckily for me they found that this nodule was more of a warning than anything else

USA; Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (10) warms up before the game against the Detroit Lions at SoFi Stadium
Mandatory Credit: Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports
The clash between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Detroit Lions ended in a nail-biting 41-38
tipping the Chargers to a 4-5 season record
was not just another loss in the NFL diary
It was a game where Justin Herbert, the highest-paid quarterback in the league, was under the spotlight. Justin Herbert’s performance was far from mediocre
He threw for 323 yards and scored four touchdowns
took to social media to express his frustration
“Justin Herbert loses again; how long are we going to keep hyping up the most talented loser in the NFL?” This tweet immediately caught the ire of NFL fans
how long are we gonna keep hyping up the most talented loser in the NFL
— Marc Luino (@GiraffeNeckMarc) November 13, 2023
Several responses pointed out the unfairness of Luino’s criticism
“How long are we going to spend hyping up the most talented loser?” about Shohei Ohtani”
“Ohtani gets 4 at bats a game; that’s not the same as an NFL QB.”
That’s like saying “how long are we going to by hyping up the most talented loser” about shohei ohtani

“He put up 300 yards and 4 TDs; I don’t know what more you want him to do.” Marc replied

Herbert might have impressive personal stats but without the support of an equally stellar defense
the offense will not be able to make the strides that are required of the Chargers
Justin Herbert encountered several challenges
He wasn’t connecting well with his receivers
and his throws weren’t as accurate as expected
there was a noticeable shift in his performance
Despite a dip in his play during the first quarter
Herbert really stepped up his game in the following quarters
Looking at Herbert’s performance throughout the entire game, he managed to achieve an impressive average of 0.46 expected points for every play he was involved in. This achievement isn’t minor; it places him among the best quarterbacks of the last 20 years, according to the data
His total score in Expected Points Added (EPA)
further cements his position as a top-tier player on the field
The #Chargers offense finished the game with 421 total yards

leading the Chargers on three drives that balanced the score
This effort from Herbert is particularly noteworthy given the limited options he had for top-level receivers
Herbert has been breaking records all season

George Harrison was always a private person
he craved privacy like no other time in his life
took every precaution to keep those few months as private as possible
doctors diagnosed George with throat cancer
and George underwent two radiation treatments at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London
George downplayed his illness by saying, “I am very lucky. I’m not going to die on you folks just yet.” Shortly after becoming cancer-free, George almost died in a home invasion in 1999
The former Beatle downplayed the injuries he sustained during the attack
later said the injuries likely took years off George’s life
Doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota diagnosed him with lung cancer
he underwent successful surgery to remove a growth
George received news his cancer had spread to his brain
George released a statement: “The reports were unsubstantiated
Harrison is active and feeling very well in spite of the health challenges he has had this year
George Martin… has emphatically denied speaking to any newspaper.”
When George and Olivia started a worldwide search for treatment
It was reported that he was recovering from his lung surgery in a villa in Luino
but he was actually receiving “grueling” cobalt treatments for a brain tumor at the San Giovanni hospital in Bellinzona
the Harrisons’ treatment search led them to Dr
Gil Lederman at Staten Island University Hospital in New York
they didn’t pick the best doctor if they wanted to remain private
he publicly thanked fans for their concern but urged them not to worry
his friends knew his illness was far worse than he let on
They also knew he was downplaying his illness for the sake of privacy
“Since the media got wind of University Hospital’s involvement in Harrison’s treatment
reporters have descended upon Staten Island and staked out the hospital’s Ocean Breeze campus looking for celebrity visitors and whatever new information they can get.”
A source claiming to be close to George witnessed Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr’s arrival for their final meeting together
“Paul was tearful and sad about seeing George sick,” the source said
Lederman also claimed he was there and told Rolling Stone about the private moment between the three former bandmates
“It was a spirited affair,” Lederman claimed
but George remained very much the man of dignity
Lederman did not uphold his duties of doctor-patient confidentiality by any means
He divulged what it was like treating George to his friends
Harrison was determined that his death not become the object of media attention
He hired Los Angeles security specialist Gavin de Becker.”
He used Olivia’s maiden name to check into UCLA Medical Center as Jorge Arias
Tom Petty, George’s fellow Traveling Wilbury, witnessed how the press treated George in his last months
They hounded him and intruded on his privacy
so it’s no wonder George did everything in secret
the media wasn’t very sweet in the last year of his life,” Petty told Rolling Stone
“He was probably the most hounded of his whole life when he was trying to deal with that
He would have helicopters follow him when he left the house
George continued to pay the price even in death
Lederman gave “touching anecdotes” to Good Morning America
Because of the media frenzy that George’s death sparked worldwide
the details of his funeral were kept entirely secret
the Hollywood Forever Cemetery coordinator
“We were told everything must be handled in the strictest secrecy and that the arrangments were to remain completely confidential
George’s funeral, memorial service, and the scattering of his ashes in the Ganges River were the only private affairs that stayed between the attendees
The former Beatle might not have been granted peace in his last months
but none of that mattered once he was ready to leave his body
Later, the only details Olivia would divulge about the moment George’s soul left his body for the spiritual world was that you wouldn’t need to light the room if you were trying to film it. Her husband “lit the room.”
